I wouldn't ordinarily try a Freya balcony bra because of their reputation for suiting projected, full-on-bottom breasts, but I picked up the 30FF Faye Underwired Plunge Balcony Bra (4201) because it's a beige, unlined, very lightweight bra. It turns out the cups fit okay, with just a bit of wrinkling where the upper lacy material meets the plainer woven lower material. This wouldn't show under shirts.
I think the reason this fits okay on my neither shallow nor projected shape is the wires kind of slant backwards under the arms. The wires and wings are not high enough for me, but the wires do go far enough back that ...enough of my tissue gets pushed into the cups, and the cups are filled.
But what a lot of fabric for a plunge bra! First of all, the center gore is 2.5" high, which is 1" higher than my close-set breasts like. Secondly, there is a lot of fabric in those cups. This covers about the same amount of square inches as my Fantasie full cup bras, the Serene and 4520. Because I'm petite, I have an incredibly hard time finding bras that don't peek through necklines. The Freya Faye is not going to help me here.
I think this is a plunge perhaps designed for women who want a plunge but have soft tissue that needs to be contained so the tissue doesn't ooze out at the top or gore. Read more 129 more words
Runs a little small--more in between F and FF than a true FF. This is good because I'm rather in-between sizes as well! It's a great bra for shallow and wide shapes, and it is very cute.
I don't like the longline style so much because the band flips up in front when I bend. Vertical seams show through thin tops, and I wish there were another row of hooks. But the cups are so comfortable that I don't mind all the other problems with the bra. I'm on the hunt for a very similar shape now!
I love this bra! It definitely has a minimizing effect on my boobs, making it easier to wear some tops. The pattern on the fabric and lace is super cute. The cups are super thin, though, so it won't hide nips, but it's very nice in the sumer because it breathes a little.
I was planning to buy a 28G but it was out of stock. I got an 30ff instead. The band is definitely quite loose but it feels similar to the 28G deco plunge that I bought at the same time which is also quite loose. It gives good cleavage. And nice shape underneath clothes also. But it wrinkles a bit at the bottom part of the bra . I don't know why.
I tried this in a 28G before sizing up to a 30FF as the band runs a little tight. The 30FF fits really well and the discomfort caused between the tightness of the 28 band and the gore digging in seems to have disappeared. We'll see if that lasts.
This bra gives me a more projected look, but I personally prefer that over looking wide.
I ordered this bra in different sister sizes. I had some noticeable gaping in this one and the band was slightly loose. You can read my overall opinion on this bra in the review of the fitting 28G - Freya ยป Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) .
Given as I don't actually own this bra, and wasn't wearing it for much more than a couple mins, this entry is mostly just to state that something actually fits me. It sure seemed comfortable to me, and the salesgirl was pointing out various signs of good fit, but it still seemed to me like there's a 'but' hidden in there somewhere. Regardless, this is the best fitting bra I've found so far, and using this as a starting point, I'm hoping to one day find that WOW fit.
Every Freya bra I've tried on has been wonderful, this one is no exception. Great shape, perfect underwire. I am quading out just a tiny, but the 30G was too big.
I was surprised at how much I liked this bra. Usually Freya unpadded bras give me an odd pointy shape, but the side panels on this really work to round everything out. Certainly not the prettiest bra ever, the straps are very thick and the white mesh trip along the top of the cups shows through white t-shirts. However it is very comfortable, I never have to readjust this one and often forget I have a bra on!
I was sort of in between sizes, but the 30G was too big, so I chose the 30FF. I do get a little cutting in along the top when I move my arms around, but I'm glad I went with the smaller size. The band is nowhere near as firm as the Cleo unpadded bras, but it does stay in place.
Great everyday bra, nothing pretty, but gives a great shape under clothing.
One of my favorite underwire bras ever. Holds up well, is comfortable to wear all day, super cute pattern, and is very supportive (not too much bounce when doing normal activities like running up stairs)
I like this better than the unlined that I have. The ban was a bit loose as it was bought from another user used. I added 1 more row of loops to hook this tighter & it's fine now. The cups are strange. I get some gaping on the top due to being FOB. However I get nip slip when I lean over. I think a 30g would be better. It's odd because the unlined 28ff I have is almost too tight (bought new) & the cup top wrinkles even more! I think the heavy weight of my bottom boob distorts the top. The wire on the unlined seemed to be wider as well & I need super narrow wires. The lined is OK as the wires are short so they don't poke my arm pit.
This was my first bra in my correct size. It's a good "starter" bra. Simple, very little decoration, and a reasonable approximation of what a person can expect from most bras in this size.
With that said, I am not a fan of Freyas. I have projected, narrow breasts that are very full on bottom. With all Freyas, including this one, I am flattened out and the bottom of the cup always wrinkles from not having enough projection. The straps are always farther set apart than my narrow shoulders, giving me a rash when I wear it for more than a couple hours. Freyas do have narrower wires than most bras (except Ewa and Comexim), so I don't have so much issue with there being empty space on the sides of my body. However, I do have more space than I would like.
As a starter bra, it's not bad. I can't say I would purchase again, though.
I have fairly wide roots, average projection, and even fullness, and the other, older Freya unlined bra cuts are too narrow and slightly too deep for me. The Marvel, though, has wires of the perfect width for me and cups that are shallower, but not so shallow that I need to go up a cup size like I do in, say, the very shallow Cleo Juna and Parfait Charlotte Balconette.
My usual size of 30FF fits perfectly and gives the sort of lovely, rounded shape I generally don't see from unlined bras. Band is good; didn't need to go a band size down, as is often necessary with Freyas. One complaint: the 30FF only has two hooks, rather than the three I'd prefer.
Unlike many "nude" colors, the Marvel's is light enough to work as a flesh tone for my very pale skin.
All this, and it's comfortable, too, in that wonderful, forget-you're-wearing-it sort of way.
The wires are too wide, although the cup depth is ok. I think I prefer lower gores, although this was the first non-plunge bra I have tried on. The band feels much too big for me, I am getting used to Parfait By Affinitas tight bands so I am not sure I can wear a 30 band in Freya anymore. The material lining the cups is very soft and comfortable, it almost feels fuzzy. I have never tried on a bra like this before. The strap is made of a different material that is also soft.
Great fit everywhere else, I love freya half-cups, but for some reason this runs SO small in the cup https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Massive quadboob. Maybe I just got bigger? I don't know. This fits a lot different than my Freya Erin. I think I['m more of a G-GG now, tohugh, so take that with a grain of salt.
This one fits me a bit like the Totally Tarten Longline Bra by Freya. Band is ok (I love longline), but the cups are too small. Will try going up to a 30 G. The pattern is weird, but I like longline so much I want to try the bigger cup size.
I wear a 30 FF in the other Freya bras I have, so I was surprised when this one didn't fit as well. I guess I need to learn that bra models of the same brand come in different cuts and I need different sizes. The band is ok, a bit loose, perhaps, but only a bit. But the cups are not big enough for me, neither on the side nor on top, i.e. I get spillage. Still a lovely bra in a lovely material.
I like this bra a lot. It is comfortable, the band fits nicely and the cups are a good fit. However, since I have somewhat soft breasts, after wearing it a few hours my breasts tend to move towards the sternum. It still doesn't give me spill, and it's not visible underneath clothes and not uncomfortable. However, with a low-cut dress I would need to readjust frequently. Still, it's one of the best plunge bras I ever had, and issues have more to do with my particular breasts than the bra. Since I think I need a plunge bra, I think this is the best option I have so far found.
