*Ok there's some 'golden oldies' in my bra collection - bras I was truly obsessed with, have hunted down like crazy and even if I don't wear them often, they are doomed to be mine.. Forever! XD*
Second of them is this Flourish longline: for me this was an instant 'OMG-must-have'. Really really love the bright tropical print https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> Stalked it untill it was on a discount. When I bought this (over a year ago?) it fit a bit better, I've gained some boobage since then. So now it's technically too small, but I still love it.
About the fit: ideally I would get this ...in 30GG/H - but it only goes up to G. So I had to get a 32 and unsurprisingly, the band is a bit large. Guess I would consider this bra true to size. As with all Freya padded halfcups, this is a wider and shallower style. Wires are a tad wide but since the cup is so snug / overfilled, it seems like the wires still encase my breast tissue. My main issue however is how the band flips up. Same as with my 32G - Fauve » Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331) . Aesthetically I adore longlines, but for long days of wear they don't work great on me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Looks wise, I'm somewhat disappointed with the back band: it is completely unembellished, boring black mesh - what a shame on such a gorgeous bra! They could've at least added a panel of the floral fabric? Also the cut of the back + set of the straps are kind of strange, and not very flattering for back/shoulder chub. On a more recent clone, Freya Pansy Padded Longline Bra (1683) , they've committed the same crime - shame on you Freya! Pansy is still sort of hovering on my wishlist though https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
Because of the issues I had with this longline, I also got the balcony bra (review to come). Read more 235 more words
bought this used along with a few other bras of the same size and sister cut. this one was bought used by the person i purchased from, but they never wore it. it seems pretty much new to me! no signs of wear, band is good, no snags or anything like that. its slightly different in fit that the other bras it's related to (totally tartan and erin), but not so much that it doesnt fit well.
appearance wise, i'm not crazy in love with this bra but i dont hate it either. the main pattern is a blue and white sort of Hawaiian-y abstract ...floral print. theres a small light brown velvet bow at the gore and strap connections, which coordinate with the light brown trim/straps that have little blue and white flower shapes on their fabric. its not a very pretty pattern, but its not like its neon animal print or something i truly hate. and really, i was getting these more so could have bras that fit in my rotation, so its sort of advantageous that its not the prettiest pattern. now i wont feel too bad wearing it out https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> the fabric is comfortable and sort of slippery smooth on the outside.
fit wise, this is pretty close for me. the band (like the other 32G sister cuts i bought) is just a bit too snug to be truly comfortable, so im using an extender to get one more set of hooks for a more comfortable feel. i have marked it as fitting, because the 34FF in these cuts is far too loose on the tightest hook, so it seems like going 32G with an extender while they break in is my best bet. the cups are a bit too shallow judging by the creasing im getting in the bottom, but its not uncomfortable so im not considering it a big issue. the cups dont cut in on me, and the right side gapes slightly because its a bit less full on top. the Erin has no gaping, and neither does the TT. i think, because this bra is slightly wider and deeper, ive got a little more space than i need. its just a hair though, so really not worth getting rid of it!
the straps are wider set on this like most half cups, but i dont find issues with them moving or sliding down. compared to the Erin and TT though, they are just a bit too wide and are edging on getting stuck into my armpits. i imagine they will break in and stop that after a while, but its worth noting. i think this comes from the cups being slightly wider than the TT and Erin.
the band material/design i have beef with- its very thin and stretchy which makes for lots of back fat for a soft fleshy person like me. freya bands are always like this on me, even in a band size too large. its that darn design where the band is made of two strips of elastic along the top and bottom with a stretchy fabric in the middle. i wish the entire band were made with material that was thicker and sturdier, so i could have a band that is the right snugness but not have all that squish happening!
the gore width, even though it measures the same as bras that are too wide, isnt a huge problem here. i think it all comes down to the shape and flexibility of the gore- these cuts have a sort of \ / shape at the top of the gore, where it isnt straight across, and that is good for me. my boobs are close set and want to shove straight-across-gores side to side to try and fit, thus shoving the cups around too and making them gape. but with the \ / shape, the gore can bend at the center, and the sides of the gore just fold and sit with the curve of my breast. when i look down, the gore looks like a V shape, if that makes sense. ideally that means i need a narrower gore, but for now this is comfortable and works so im going with it.
the wires are wider than other bras that fit me well, but aside from the straps being a bit too wide set, i dont notice fit issues. its hard for me to tell where my breast tissue ends, so i cant really tell if its too wide for me! i know it isnt too narrow, because i dont feel like its pinching or cutting in. Smooth, full coverage bra that creates a lot of cleavage. Mine is a dark grey color with two buttons and a bow on the center gore. Mostly forward projection, but tissue does collect under my arms. Creates a round shape. Padding adds volume, so doesn't fit under VERY fitted shirts. Gore is low and remains flush with my chest. The side wings are too low under my arms and/or the wire angles outward towards my back instead of upward- side boob spills out a bit. Good support for a foam cup, but not for every-day use if you will be on your feet all day.
This bra is an engineering marvel. If you had told my 15-year-old self that I would one day own a strapless bra and actually WEAR IT, successfully, with strapless tops, I would have laughed in your face. And yet! Freya went ahead and proved me wrong. While I could stand to have a band size smaller in this (there are only two rows of hooks) I have worn it out, strapless, into the real world on multiple occasions so far with my shoulders happily bare without any nip-slips or belt bras or anything. I've adjusted it about as often as I adjust my normal bras. The cup does ...turn up a bit on the bottom - I can't quite fill it out down there, but quad boob is not a concern with the high center gore and equally high, stiff cups. The longline is beautiful and elegant. The removable straps that come with the bra are eh - once I took them off to experiment with the strapless I haven't felt the need to put them back on. The shape is not as high and perky as I'm used to now (especially since I started wearing Comexim) but it's an acceptable trade-off IMO. Overall very pleased! Read more 98 more words
Love this bra, only wish it would come in a 30GG. Fits my breasts perfectly, but is slightly loose in size 32 band. I use the tightest hook and it is "okay."
This bra transfers all of the weight of my breasts to my back and distributes it over my back, which makes it one of the best bras I have found. The straps, which you can remove, are superfluous for weight bearing, but help to create a smooth line. There are two options for where you want to attach the straps, which allows me to attach the straps at the center-top of the cup rather than to the side, where so many bras these days for the large busted attach.
As an added bonus, I never thought I'd find a strapless bra.
The downsides: -the padded cups make my breasts ...look bigger, which I need like I need a poker in my eye. -It's a little restrictive around the ribcage. I am not a fan of the dried glue-like elastic that lines the bottom of the band, which leaves dents on my skin. -After a day of wearing it, I want to take it off in order to comfortably expand my ribcage.
Overall, I am more pleased with this bra than almost any other on the market, but I would still like to find better. Some of the other Freya longline bras would be promising except that they do not provide enough coverage of the top of my breasts, allowing for waay too much cleavage wiggle for me to be comfortable wearing them outside. Unlike them, this bra has enough coverage of the tops of my breasts.
This bra is only still in my wardrobe because of how well it fits and how pretty it is. In those respects, it is perfect. The only detrimental point (no pun intended) is that it makes your boobs look somewhat pointy and wide. You can look nice under loose-fitting t-shirts, at least.
Edit: Since this is probably the most aesthetically appealing and comfortable bra I have ever owned, I have taken the liberty of making an alteration to it that also makes it nice underneath a shirt. The reason for the pointy shape is excess fabric in the cup, which keeps the bra from giving a more rounded shape. If you, like me, are in love with this bra, you can fix the problem by sewing the excess cup fabric to the side of the underwire.
While I love the look of this bra, it does have some fit issues on me. I wish they would make this in a GG cup as I do get a bit of spillover on the top. I thought since this was a balconette shape it would be ok even it was a bit too small, but no such luck. My smaller breast fits fine but the bigger one not so much.
The center doesn''t sit completely fluch on my skin, I think it's both because the cup is too small and that the center gore is a bit too wide for me. I can usually fix this ...by altering the gore but since this is a longline, I don't think it would look too great.
I had also hoped that the bra would be a bit longer, if you don't have a completely flat stomach, the edge of the botom in the front tends to flip over when I sit down (doesn't help that I tend to hunch over either)
If Freya continues to make this style, I might try it in a 34G in the future. Depends on how much the band will stretch out on the 32G that I have now. Read more 99 more words
I tried on this bra in a fitting room at Nordstroms, so sadly I haven't got any measurements.
The fit was extraordinarily flattering and supportive with great uplift. If you dislike back fat, this would be the perfect choice. Mine (though I don't consider it a "problem area" ) disappeared without a trace. The only pressing fit issue that I had with this bra was that the straps were a little off, either very slightly too close or too far apart. My only nitpicks included the way that my not-terribly-long torso caused the extended band to crinkle up a bit. If you've got the time for 6 hooks and a fancy for nonstandard floral print, then you should buy this bra.
It was a very supportive fit all around, but one that I'd never experienced before, so it felt comfortable, but weird. Nonetheless, I'd definitely buy it if I had the financial ability.
I also reviewed this bra in a 30GG, the band size down feels a bit better. Here is an abridged an edited review.
Band: The bra has a very very stretchy band. If you are between band sizes, go down one and up a cup size, although if you’re borderline you may not need to go up a cup size. I wear a 32G in Panache/Affinitas, so the 32 will probably get nowhere near the life I want out of it.
Straps: Fully adjustable, which is excellent.
Cups: It’s cut so that women like me who are full on the bottom and sides are accommodated, perhaps due to the way ...the plunge is constructed? The wires come up high on the side, which is great for trying to reverse migrated breast tissue. There’s also a decent amount of space between the cups and it pushes my separate breasts a little closer together, so it might be a bit much for ladies who have very close-set breasts. The shape is stupendous for me, as everything was held pretty much straight up. The mold gives nipple modesty and shapes well.
Some have reported getting a fold on the bottom of the cup- I found this stopped happening after a few washes, and is more pronounced if the cup is too small.
This model is trictly based on the Summer half-cup. As I own that one aswell, I'll redirect you to its review.
Only a few things to add: - it hasn't quite stretched out as much as my Summer, but it's also a year younger
- the fabric at the bottom of the cup frayed, as if it had been poorly stitched. It also happened on the matching brief I have, the pink ribbon part looks all messy now...
But it still looks stunning, and I wear it every now and then, when I want to feel gorgeous!
Gore was a tad high for my center fullness and does twist a little but it doesn't bother me. Straps are a little wide and one side does slip even when I have the length shortened. Lace on the bottom irritates sometimes but I think it just depends on how I feel that day. Otherwise with these tiny flaws, it is a good fit for me. Deep enough, band is comfortable and not restricting. It is stretchy and sometimes its nice to have a little flex, for me anyway.
For a molded bra I had a very good fit with this. The gore is just a tad high and twists a little. It was comfortable. Was deep enough for me, everything stayed where it should. Straps are placed a little too wide and even though I adjust the length, one side still slips from time to time. The band has stretched out pretty quickly in the time that I've had.
If the gore was .5" shorter this would be my ideal bra. I am close set and it twists just a little bit but at least I don't have that center tissue slide. I like that the cups are smooth with the soft lace detail on top. Not itchy to me and that's what seems to bug me about many lace styles. Band isn't constricting and has a little stretch as do the cups but not that anything gets sloppy. The seams do show through light sweatshirts but most probably do. Nice side support to keep everything like it should be.
Deeper than Comexim 3HC. Shallower and wider than Ewa CHP. Ok immediate projection to evenly full but overall shallow cup, on a halfcup almost plunge frame. Not quite either, somewhere in between.
At rest the gore is almost 3" tall, about 1.35+ shorter than the wing which feels -low balcony- tier... worn the gore shrinks to about 2.65" tall and feels decidedly plunge. The cup is more of a 12+ depth along the upper cup near hem, and 11.5 deep in the lower cup. After taking in the band & altering the placement of straps, this bra DOES fit, at least half the time... Supposed that would make this a 26J-28HHish in size?
Tried on. Lovely feminine colorway and lace and the potential to be quite comfortable (if the shape worked). This is projected verging on pointy, almost retro, but the projection is in the upper half of the cup, not down at the wire. I suspect the 32G was on the large cup size, but am sure if I went down to the FF the very closed top of the cup would cut into my tall roots. Oddly, the band seemed MUCH bigger on the top hooks than the bottom. I have a rib flare so I’m used to hooking the top 2 rows one tighter than the bottom, but this was particularly noticeable.
Classic lightweight Freya foam and comfort, and previous Freya longline fit issues for me (wide wires, can’t get anywhere near the bottom of the shallow cup, etc. Difference with the fancies one is it really seems to want the boobs further toward the armpits/shoved to the sides and is possibly even more shallow and wide-wired than I remember the other longlines being. Band quite big at first try-on—I’m between a true 32 and 34 and would probably take a 30 for longevity’s sake in this (if they made my cup size)
I ordered this bra to try on but I'll be sending it back. I'm not sure if the cups were too small or maybe not projected enough for me, but the band pulled and the wires seemed to be punching into my ribs underneath the cups in a very uncomfortable way. I did like the way the cups went far enough to the sides that it seemed to actually hold in all my side boob without cutting into it (I have fairly wide roots). But it was painful to wear so I can't keep it.
Love the way this bra looks and the material is surprisingly comfortable - the problem is that after a little while of wearing it, it starts to get uncomfortably tight. I've been wondering if I should've sized up to a 34 in the band? The gore also digs into my chest.
