I ordered a band size down and cup size up on recommendation. I also ordered my normal size, 34FF. Both fit poorly, but the 32G at least fit better? The straps were set way too far apart and were really firm. I would've tried to wear this with an extender in the back if the straps were so uncomfortably wide on me. The tops gapped at the top if I wasn't standing up straight and had an odd top shape. The search for a lightly padded bra continues!
I really like the way this bra pulls things toward the front, since I'm always struggling with looking wider than I am. The bra is comfortable and well-made. My one concern is that it's a little low-cut, and so I'm constantly at risk of spilling out. Overall a really nice bra though!
Far from perfect, but this is the closest I've been to a well-fitting molded bra in a while. In terms of fit, it is too shallow and a bit too wide, although it's really not too bad. Unfortunately, the black version of this bra has a band that is much too snug for longterm wear. I do wish the straps were closer together, but that's a common problem for me.
The plunge shape doesn't play well with my center-fullness. Immediately after swooping and scooping, the top of the cups looks okay, but over time, my breasts start to slowly spill out towards the middle of the bra. (This ...issue is likely exacerbated by the insufficient immediate projection.) Because the top of the bra is rather open, this spillage doesn't cause visible quad-boobing, and could actually work nicely for a cleavage-y look in lower cut tops.
In contrast to the center spillage, the top of the cups gape towards the outside. I can see the outline of the top/sides breasts when I look down*. This seems like a clear sign of a shape mismatch, which I believe is due to a number of factors, namely: a) because there is a very low gore and no center support, the weight of my center-full breasts falls forward, leaving less tissue on the outsides, b) my breasts are FOB, and this may be a better fit for even or FOT shapes c) the cups are too wide for me.
In terms of quality and appearance, it visibly appears like your standard molded cup bra. The fabric is smooth, soft, and shiny. The band feels nice and supportive, and the wires are rather firm. It would make a great tshirt bra.
Despite the above described fit issues, my breasts feel firmly secure and surprisingly well supported for a molded cup (probably helped by the too-tight band, which may not be the case for other colorways). Although my tissue shifts towards the center, once they find their resting spot, my breasts definitely aren't going anyway. I think it might be worth trying in another colorway and/or a sister size, since my expectations for the fit of a molded bra are lower than for seamed ones. .
TL;DR: Bra is too shallow, and the plunge style doesn't play nicely with my center fullness. Band might fit in another color, but is too small in black.
*Note: Worth noting that I have a similar problem but to a much worse degree with the Freya Sundance Sweetheart in 34FF, which actually fits me very well. I don't think this gaping is necessarily a predominant fit issue in itself, but rather that it's indicative of other structural fit problems with the bra. With the Sundance, the reason I can see the outline of my breast root so clearly is primarily due me not having as much tissue towards the top and the straps being placed so wide on the cup. However, because the Sundance provides very nice center support, it doesn't cause problems with fit. Read more 413 more words
the iconic Freya deco plunge bra, I think I will not write anything new about it: D The ABTF calculator suggested that I try on 32G, but it turned out to be too big
I really love Freya bras, and this one was no exception. I purchased it new at Nordstrom department store. The bright blue with the silver really popped, and the bra was super comfortable. I would say it's true to size; I can no longer wear it due to my reduction.
I think the cups may be set further apart than what works for me. My boobs fit in the center, but there is gapping towards the side of the top of the cup right before the bra strap, and there seems to be excess room in the entire top half of the cup. The cups are also pretty wide, and when I lift my arms, there is excessive wrinkling on the sides.
It's a really nice bra, I just wish I could find it in a size 34H. Its one of those bras that I want that can be reliable. Something you put on with difficult shirt.
I love this bra. It looks so good when it fits - and it does for a while, and might keep that way throughout the day depanding on what I'm wearing. If I have a tight top that will help keep my boobs in place, but I have an issue with spillage. I don't know what the problem is, if it just doesn't fit my shape or I'm wearing the wrong size. I used to have perfect fit with Freya Deco but I lost a lot of weight. Are my boobs too pendulous for this fit? Advice appreciated!
As much as I thought I liked a bra with simple lines, apparently I am a sucker for pretty, floral embroidery, and this bra has it. I have heard that Freya Rhea is made on the Fancies framework, which may be, as I haven't tried it, but my other currently best fitting bra is Freya Hero, and the fit is not too different. Like Hero, which also claims to be a plunge but is really only plunge-ish, the gore is a bit high for my very close set boobs, but it just makes it without being uncomfortable. The three part cup gives a fairly natural shape. I don't ...have a lot of volume on top, so no problem with quadding, but the cups and edge of Rhea are non-stretch lace, which could make it problematic for someone more top-full. The non-stretch lace does have the benefit of making the bra feel firmer and more supportive. I am short, and I think my roots are fairly short as well, so for me at least, this bra has a lot of coverage for a plunge, like Hero. The rose gold center ornament is a little weird - it does look like a bra slider - but I can live with it. Overall, a supportive and comfortable bra, with that pretty embroidery that makes it just a little better than your average black bra. Read more 123 more words
Not a bad fit. The wires are bit high in the middle for one as close set as I - the gore is 2.8" and I am better with 2.5" or lower, but they are hard to find in a supportive bra. I like the side support and the fact that the cups are narrower than many other bras - the result is a better shape and fit. The straps are not too narrow, which is good. The bra is also sheer- my husband remarked on this, and I am pretty sure not in a bad way. For such a sheer bra, it does cover a lot of ...boob. Fortunately, it does not have a lot of volume high up (as I do not either), so there is no wrinkling. I almost bought this bra several times before, but I didn't really need it, and wasn't sure it would fit. I am happy to say that it does fit, and with a drawer full of bras that are worn out and/or now don't fit, I will probably be buying more. Read more 72 more words
My only bra that fits well. Very minor strap gap, and I wish the straps were a bit wider, but otherwise a good fit for my close set and bottom full boobs.
I like this bra, in that it's versatile and not too expensive (compared to other strapless bras I have bought). But the cups do gape at the top a bit unless I wear the straps with it...
This is the only bra I have that fits. One cup doesn't fit since I'm asymmetrical, but that's easily adjusted by adding padding. The cups are soft with no padding and there is elastic across the top of the cups. Overall it does a pretty good job supporting me.
This was one of the 8 bras I tried in my first Amazon Prime Wardrobe Box! (Sadly, 8/8 did NOT fit) Ok, the note I have written for this bra is: "TOO BIG" in all caps, hahah! So yeah, this seems to run big. And again, the one hook clasp is a dealbreaker for me. It might work for others, but not this gal. Three hooks or bust! I ordered this in the graphite color, which was really pretty! It's a nice alternative to a black bra. I also liked the little peekaboo hole in the gore. Overall? Cute bra, but at least one cup size too large.
This bra was one of my favorites before I lost weight! My band size and cup size is smaller now. Anyway it fits much better then the Deco Vibe (AA1704) I believe it’s slightly deeper in the cup, slightly narrower in the width of cup, height of gore is slightly longer also more true to size in the band giving center full, narrow roots, projected breast a better fit. This is my comparison in 32G I’d like to try the 30G in this style in hopes it will fit better then my 30G deco vibe (1704)
This is a fine bra, I just prefer *more* support from my bras since I have very soft, ample tissue. It is rare I can wear Freya, so in desperation for a bra Nordstrom could convert to a nursing bra for me I couldn't have done better. It is pretty. I prefer more lift/structure, and I have more tissue than this bra can really handle but the fit isn't awful aside from too big band/gore not tacking.
I like the print! Do the wires feel wide on you or are they very flexible?
Wide, but not uncomfortable as I generally find with Freya/Panache. I haven't tried bending them. Mostly there is only so much the fabric can do in the band so the straps need to do more lift than ideal. The print does make me quite happy! I wish I had gotten matching bottoms.
Thank you, I was just asking because the wires on most Freyas are either too wide by design or they are too flexible and distort while wearing the bra.
I don't think it's a problem if the straps do a bit of the lifting as long as they don't feel too tight or make the band ride up.
From my experience with other Freya's these are the latter.
Eh, to get enough lift they have to be uncomfortably tight.
It Is generally comfortable. I am close set, so the low and close set gore is good for me. The problem with a low gore for me is that I tend to slide in to the center, and have gaping at the upper corners near the straps. This doesn't stop me from weari the bra however. The 32 band is definitely very stretchy, and too big on me. If I order another deco I would probably chose a 28band.
I like the print!
