Overall it's a really nice bra. It's made out of a very soft cotton (tag says: 91% cotton, 5% polyamide, 4% elastane). The cup is a little small for my bigger breast (which is the breast I measured for this site), but it fits my smaller breast perfectly. Even though it's listed as a 30G the original owner had put it in the washer so it fits much more like a 26GG/28G in my opinion.
I am a fairly even and projected breast shape. I have average-to-narrow roots with a slight omega shape. My best fitting bra is a Cleo Lily in 28GG, though I think a 30G would be more comfortable in terms of band length.
This bra would be better for someone who is a bit shallower and a little wider than I am - I get a lot of quad-boob at the top of the cups. The cups were also a bit wide for me initially, ...but I bent the wires to try to make them a little narrower and give me more projection, with mixed success. Given the shape, I feel like it might actually work well for me in a 30GG/H, which I certainly would not be opposed to trying.
I feel like the top of the cup is a little too "squared-off" and angular, particularly on top, for my shape, though this is in part because I have too much tissue there and am probably distorting the cups a bit.
The bra's design has a nice, simple, almost country aesthetic to it. I really like pairing it with some of my more "rustic" loose summer shirts! The white cotton cups and the blue ribbon aren't overly in your face, but they're attractive in a quiet manner. The cups are made of thick, durable cotton that's pleasant against the skin. It's a strapless, so it's not what I'd call comfortable, but it does its job! The molding of the cups is *very* sturdy, so even though my boobs are not quite defying gravity on their own to hold a nice uplifted round shape, they sure look like they are under my clothes. Triple hook fastening in the back and silicone piping along the inside edges to help keep everything in place, which can get unpleasant after a while, but if you can't have straps it's a necessary evil. Definitely good value for money.
I love this bra -- it's one of the first ones I bought after I figured out I was not, in fact, a 36C, and I'm dreading the day it wears out because I don't live in the UK anymore and I can't just run out to Debenhams to replace it! I have it in both navy and white and they fit the same but I think the blue is much more attractive. (I also have the matching briefs, and they're very comfortable and attractive as well.) I'm a big fan of the wide straps, but the embroidery along the sides does snag a lot. The cups have enough padding that there's no nipple show-through in cold weather, but it's a very flexible material that doesn't force my breasts into a shape that doesn't suit them (unlike, for example, the Cleo Jude (5846), which I bought expecting it to be similar to my other plunges -- this and the Bravissimo Satine (AU15) -- but didn't fit me at all).
Very supportive, but underwires dig into my ribs under the breasts a bit. Quite tight, but acceptable.
Like almost every other bra since having a child and breastfeeding, it rubs under my arms, although not nearly as bad as many I've tried. It's tolerable for about three quarters of the day, assuming I'm not moving about much. The rubbing is mainly around the underwire and the fabric above it.
This is a deep plunge which gives butt-crack clevage! It is a little wide (6") but i think that for special occasions this really is something special https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I love this bra! Unfortunately I think it's a cup size too big. I can fill out the bottom but the lace wrinkles at the top. It's so cute and I like the shape it gives and it's my first 28 band so I think I'm going to sew the lace down and just be in denial until I get some better fitting bras or can get this in a 28FF. Sadly I bought it off of eBay and have no idea what style it is. If anyone knows please let me know! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
This is a balconette shaped bra from Debenham's Gorgeous range. It is cyan/sea green in colour with black polka dots printed onto the fabric. At the top of the cups there are two rows of black and sea green lace.It has polka dot bows on the central gore and on both straps where the cups meet the straps. It has a partial band which is edged with black lace at the bottom.
This bra fits surprisingly well considering that the measurements would indicate a cup that is too wide and shallow for me. I mean, it IS too wide and shallow for me, but it almost looks okay--good on the smaller breast, just quad-boob on the larger. I like the stiff cups and rounded appearance it gives, and the cute details (like the black-on-black flower pattern). It's comfortable, too. It would be perfect if it were just a bit deeper. Unfortunately, I'm already pushing it on how wide the cups can go, and going up to a 30G is likely to create more problems than it solves.
The previous owner of this NWT Debenhams bra was right in saying that the band was very tight. The band is definitely for a 28 or even 26 back person, not 30 as labeled. I prefer to wear 28 backs but this felt similar to wearing them on the last hook, with the elastic stretched most of the way. Fit perfectly in the cups though (I wear 28H-HH) and this "30H" fit, cross to both sizes I normally wear.
Purchased for a friend, but did not fit her. The color is a beautiful teal green, really pretty details on the cups and the gore. Seems like it runs a bit small in the band, based on the measurements.
I just bought a Debenham's Gorgeous bra in a very similar style a month ago--that one fits and I can't even hook this one--at all. I used an extender and it was way too tight. Quality control issue?
I love this style. I have yet to fit into one, but I love it. It's a super-comfortable T-shirt bra, lightly foam-padded, with three vertical seams. I like the look, with smooth cups & a cute polka-dotted ribbon, enough to give it flair without upsetting a T-shirt line. I'm still amazed that my favorite type of bra in my size range is just cavalierly sold in two-packs in the U.K. Here in the U.S., they're impossible to find.
Okay, the fit. So I do get quad-boob. I'm holding out hope that I'm just a 30FF in molded-cup bras (even though I'm consistently a 30F in soft-cup bras) and I can find a good fit if I size up. Lalalala I'm not listening when you tell me that this style is just too closed on top for me.
This is one of the most comfy bras I have worn. It is a t shirt bra not padded. has wider straps and full coverage. i would say that although this is not a minimiser bra it does make the breast appear less prominent and gives very smooth line under clothes. I have had some issues though with wire coming through the bra after about 5 months. The washing instructions say it is ok to machine wash, which I did, but I would wash by hand to prevent this. This bra comes up one size smaller in the cup than @M&S t shirt bras.
This bra is very cute. I like the simple floral pattern, which is a nice change from the more ornate decoration of so many bras. It mostly fits well, but the tops of the cups do not lie completely flat. I'm shallow and FOB, and I think the cut anticipates a bit more upper fullness. However, there is plenty of room in the bottom of the cups, and the gaping is meager enough to not be noticeable, under clothes. The band is also very tight -- although it's a 30 band, it doesn't stretch more than 29 inches. Unstretched, it's 24 inches. I've worn it a few times so far, and the band has yet to gain more stretch. This bra could be a good consideration for those who need the more elusive 28 band.
Runs small. The 30 band is definitely closer to a 28, and the GG cup is quite shallow, and I would say closer to a FF.
Great for shallow breasts, but not at all for my very projected boobs. Wires are narrow, but I'm not sure if that's because the bra is way too small for me, or because it's a narrower brand.
This was my first try with a Debenham's bra, and my absolute initial impression was that they love their hang-tags. There was one on the center gore, one tacked to the left strap, and then one on the back size tags on the fastener. I never really appreciated how much easier it is to try on bras that use just one hang tag on a loop of ribbon that you can move around; trying to get a new bra on without bending any of the cardboard tags (in case you need to ship it back!) is intimidating.
That feeling of cheapness aside, the bra itself seems very well ...made. The wires are sturdy with very little lateral give (nice for those of us needing narrow cups), and the band stays firm over a day's wear. The seams are all well-finished, and the fabrics are soft.
I chose this style because it was recommended as better for full-on-bottom types out of the Gorgeous line, which tends to be better for full-on-top ladies, and I found it to be excellent. The lace along the top isn't quite as form-fitting (stretchy/forgiving/etc.) as the Panache stretch laces, but does have a bit of elastic sewn across the top of the cup, which combined with the support from the vertical-seamed bottom part of the cup gives excellent shape for full-on-bottom.
I do find that it comes up a little high on the sides, and catches on my armpit fat a bit, but not so much that I wanted to part with it.
Overall, it's an excellent bra in an adorable color-way at an excellent price point. If I can identify the style in other colors (I truly hate when the manufacturers re-name the colors as though they are different styles. What on earth is the point?) I'll likely pick up a few more. I just want to see how it wears over a few months first. Read more 213 more words
I'm still on the fence with this one. It's snug for a 30 band, but I would say it's closer to a 28G than a 30G in comparison to some of my other bras. I have another Gorgeous that I adore for how comfortable and beautiful it is. This one is a bit too small in the cup on my larger side, which is not a surprise I guess. A 30GG would probably be a better fit in this for me, but it depends on the the day too. It is comfortable, gives a good amount of lift and support. It's not my favorite, but it is really pretty and has potential I think.
This is a UK 32H. The band feels firm but not too tight - very comfortable. Nice supportive straps. The bra is very lightly padded but doesn't add any bulk, it gives a fantastic rounded natural shape. The material feels very soft. Unfortunately, I discovered after wearing just once - that the cup size is around 1 cup size too small for me and therefore this led to spillage. Probably as it is padded - which I often find too small in my normal size - as this only goes up to a H cup - unfortunately, it isn't possible to size up to 32HH. Would say this would fit a UK 32G very nicely.
