Beautiful bra and I really wanted this to fit! But unfortunately, I think this is the wrong shape for me. The straps cut into the fullness around the top of my chest and armpit and the top of the cups have a rigid seam. The band is surprisingly very snug and the back band is very attractive without being made of thick powermesh!
When I originally acquired this bra, everything but the cups fit - it was the first time I had experienced quadboob in my life. I needed to go up a cup size. I'm due some new bras, and because Gossard was the first brand I came across where the band actually fit properly without me going to the tightest hook straight away, I figured I had better check to see how much my size had changed.
Now that I'm almost seven months pregnant, all of that has gone out of the window. A increase in 2-3 cup sizes has meant that I've had some major squish issues, to the point where the gore doesn't even tack because they're resting on top of breast tissue. I also struggled to get the band closed on the loosest hook. When the bra is worn backwards, I could see there was straining on the loops.
(This review was completed as part of my clean up of bras I've added to Bratabase.)
bought online & was super excited to have some cleavage to show! at first i thought this bra fit because i saw some cleavage, and for me, thats a WOO HOO moment! but once i actually looked at it, and really Felt it, it was not to be. the cups arent wide enough to hold all of my tissue near my armpits & the tops of the cups dig into my soft tissue. the back of the bra/closure was actually uncomfortable as well. i am not sure why they designed it that way (or maybe i'm just sensitive...) so this pretty bra had to go back https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I suppose that most of us know Gossard Superboost Lace Plunge Bra (7711) quite well.. It is a non high price Superboost bra with good quality. Nearly 2 years ago i purchased my first superboost in boob friendly shop in the midnight blue. Currently I own this model in 4 different colours (orchid, midnight blue, bordeaux and blush where last two are in 32DD). and I'm still planning to acquire 2 more (twilight blue and pink paradise). I love my comexims but Gossard is the one with the effect on me - any other bra doesn't give me that what Gossard can https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />. Also I want to add that the blush version works well with my pale skin under light t-shirts.
Very pointy. I could fill out the bottom, but it pulled away from my breast and then the top was wrinkly. The padding was also very weird on the right.
Gossard makes great quality bras and this one is no exception. Soft foam cups, very thin stretchy straps and double layered wings/band ending in the signature Gossard closure - one hook in this size. Fits like a 28E, band being very tight. 30DD was my go to size in this brand, but this bra is a tad small. I think it is a result of tissue migration/boob growth. Kept it for the unlikely situation that I lose weight. At the moment it just does not give enough support and quads on one side badly. I really love the soft cups and the double layered band.
Fits like 28E, one hook signature Gossard closure. Thin foam cups and double layered wings/band. Perfect T-shirt bra, but turned out to be too small and I just don't have the patience with the Gossard customer service so didn't bother with returns.
I've recently had a large bra haul of older season styles I've always wanted to try. Retrolution was one of them! Positively reviewed by missunderpinnings, 2cakesonaplate and lecurvykitten, I've had my eye on this bra for almost two years. Too expensive though (it was a VIP item) but now I found it for £13, I couldn't resist 😁
Got it in two sizes + two colors, trying to combine the reviews:
While I'm not necessarily into cone boobs / pointy bras, I do like the design and 'retroness' of this (aptly named) Gossard model. Wasn't sure if I could rock this style but very curious to try it out! ...I actually prefer the black color but as I don't have any nude-ish bras and not all sizes were available, I decided to try both black and blush.
I had heard this bra ran small both in the cups and the band? My average size is 30GG and normally I'd try 32G in Gossard. Here I sister sized to 34G (blush) and 36FF (black - no 34G available). Both bands are way too large though - definitely need to shorten them. Im not very surprised but a 32 (or even 30) band would have been much better.
In the blush (34G) there's some wrinkling on my smaller breast. Perhaps a 32G would have been fine after all, although I do think there would be cutting in on my left breast (this bra is kind of closed on top).
Cup-wise, the 36FF seems to fit a bit better than the 34G? Less wrinkling and the strap placement is less wide. The straps themselves are very stretchy and I need to adjust them pretty short. Strap width is so comfy and even if it looks a bit industrial, it fits the aesthetics of the bra imo. However, the area where the bra cups meet the straps is quite tall and wide. Chafes my armpits and will peek out from under clothes.
About the shape, well it is definitely POINTY: especially from the side.. No surprise, but I'm not sure I can get used to this look? Very different from other bras I own (so yeah it does add to my bra repertoire 😇). But I'm not sure how often I would wear them as the shape it gives is slightly out of my comfort zone.
However, under the right clothes this bra is actually pretty awesome! I've added a couple pictures under different outfits. Keep in mind it does need a tight / structured dress or sturdy fabric to hide the pointiness.
Guessing I'll keep the black (alter the band) and return the blush. Unless someone on here wants it?

I've wanted to try Lola since 2cakes and beckysboudoir reviewed it on their blogs, so I was happy to find it for cheap at lingerie outlet store on Ebay. Both bloggers said it ran kind of large, but I decided to try the 32G - which is pretty normal for me in Gossard (since they only go to G and their bands run on the small side). For reference, my 'average' size is 30GG.
The bright color and overall design are gorgeous; I really really like the 'scales' and the signature cage back. However, the fit of the cups is not right for me. ...I definitely fill out this size but the shape is off. Top part of the cup cuts in and there's an east/west thingy going on. So I wouldn't necessarily agree it runs large? Also it's quite uncomfortable perhaps because it pulls my breasts where they don't want to go, if that's a thing. Such a shame! I was wondering if removing / loosening the ribbon would help, but I'm afraid Lola will have to go back 😪
(It sort of looks less bad in pictures but my boobs really go in two completely opposite directions in this. Not charming.) Read more 99 more words
Ouch! The Lola is charming, but this east-west look just doesn't offer a good fit. I was planning to order in 30DD or 30E, but now not so sure. And I also would love to try the padded plunge version, that one seemed very popular and sold out quickly on the Gossard website.
This is a strange bra, the strangest I have tried so far. It looked like some kind of harness. Amazingly incredibly comfortable. But the pointiest silhouette I've gotten from a bra that actually fits fairly well. The back is so NOT sexy on me. It's fitting great and no back fat. But it hits me in a way that I look more like a block of wood than usual. Not giving up on Gossard but afraid they are not going to no to fit my shape at all.
Very unexpectedly, this bra fits! It is a gorgeous longline with a weird gore that does not meet in the middle. I love it! The band is very firm and does not stretch more, which is very fine with me. If someone has matching panties, message me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Same cut as Gossard Retrolution Staylo Plunge Bra (8515).
Pros: the design! Very firm band, lace on the cups Cons: the wires are relatively narrow and boobs can escape once in a while.
I swapped for it with a friend. I had to mend it, since the wires were poking out, and I wore it a few times since for a moment I had no other option.
Pros: the cups seem well constructed and the band does not stretch too much. Cons: the bra was very obviously too big for me, so that is the major con here.
Band feels good, but this bra is very full in the cups. It's more along the lines of Fantasie or Chantelle sizing. It seems comfortable and well made. I could wear a 30B so that's a possibility if I see one available in the US for a decent price.
The Glossies bra is very lightweight and provides very little help with shaping so you have to like your natural shape with this one. The word "moulded" in the name refers to the process by which the fabric is permanently formed -- but note that this is not a "molded" bra as we expect in the US, with lining and padding. This is a single layer of slightly stretchy, sheer fabric.
I love this bra in concept: the glossy material, the somewhat nostalgic style, the fun colors! I'd also like to try the Gossard Glossies Padded Bra (6275) at some point.
It is a sexy slip that will warm up your partner or will just make you feel stunning. The corset seems to be little looser than the bra in the same size. Slip is not long itself, just perfect to cover the bump. As all Gossard the lace details are perfect, small sequins to make it more stunning. Some of you may find it good for sleeping also, for me I can't.
I had been searching far and wide for a strapless / multiway plunge bra that works for my wide rooted, shallow shape. I heard that this bra was both wide and shallow, so I had to try it.
I'm happy to say that this bra fits the bill. The band is snug, comparable to my 28 band bras. The gore is so low, it's barely there, so there's no digging in. The cups are wide enough. It comes with removeable straps. While I like the cushioned, satiny material, the straps do tend to slip off my shoulders. This is partially because they are set pretty wide in the back.
My ...least favorite thing about the bra is how overzealous the padding is. I wish I had the option to remove it. The shape of the cups in conjunction with my boobs is almost, but not quite right. With most plunges, I have an issue filling out the bottom and having the top cut in at a weird angle. With this one, there's no trouble filling out the bottom, but the top is still coming in at a slightly weird angle. Read more 80 more words
This bra is a perfect nude for my skin tone. Unfortunately I was only able to purchase it in a sister size, and so the band is too big and moves around uncomfortably. I also find myself falling out of this bra a lot, a problem I don't have in the Freya Deco. I attribute this to the large band, but also the amount of padding in the bottom of the cup, which doesn't conform to my shape. As a result I get an odd shape in this bra; rounded yet pointing downwards slightly. This mirrors my natural apex, but the padding is uncomfortable and I worry about ...damaging it. I get good cleavage in this bra, but this deteriorates throughout the day as I move around. The cups are too small for me, and I get quadboob, but I dont think thry run small, just a sizing error on my part. The band is made from a wonderfully soft and stretchy material, as are the cups, and the straps. The straps are nice and narrow, but too long for me, even adjusted fully. I would be interested in trying this bra in the right size, but at present it has too many fit issues for it to be worth keeping. Read more 104 more words
This is a decent bra. It is neither too big nor too small. It has medium wires, which are okay for my broad roots. It is shaped for people who are slightly shallow or have average projection, and have even fullness. It has a good amount of spacing between the cups. This bra is surprisingly comfortable. It is more comfortable than the Betsey Johnson Stocking Stripe bra.
bubblegum I'll take it! (if you still have it, that is)
