This is a very pretty, retro bra that I managed to get cheap (99 pence on eBay? What a steal.). It fits technically, but the shape it gives is horrible. The cups are half soft, half padded, and final result looks like those vintage bullet bras; breasts get very conical. Oh well https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I am absolutely falling out of this bra. I'm learning that I'm too center heavy for plunge bras, so it isn't entirely the bra's fault, but the cups are at least a size too small as well. The band is looser than I like it, even on the tightest hook, and it only has one hook per column! I couldn't believe it, I've never seen one like that before. The straps are quite thin and stretchy, but do adjust pretty far. There are two seams in each cup that run perpendicular, and I'm assuming their junction is where my nipple is supposed to go (though it certainly doesn't- I kind of tucked them back into the cups for the pictures). The lace on the cups is pretty.
Lovely bra, great fit, but...super torpedo! Looks great with vintage-style dresses and tops, but looks out of place under a regular t-shirt. I'm projected and FOB, for reference.
Great strapless bra. The band is nice and firm, the cups are sturdy and supportive, and the gore tracks without any discomfort. It's not a particularly attractive bra, the satin is nice and it's very well made, but not pretty. And that's ok because in the case of a strapless bra, function must trump form.
The shape is nice enough, though it's not my favorite. I do feel very firmly locked in place with this bra. Although it's a bit too close at the top, or perhaps my roots are a bit too tall. If you're after strapless support this is the bra you want! If you want cleavage ...I would recommend the wonderbra ultimate strapless. But this bra has its place.
I got this lightly used, and no straps were sent. I'm not sure if it came with any, but it really doesn't need them at all. The only thing I wish was different is the band. It has three hooks, which is decently thick. But in a strapless I tend to prefer four to six hooks, circa semi longline. But, the three hook closure is sufficiently supportive. This is a very cute bra. The wires are too wide, but they're soft enough that it isn't uncomfortable. This bra doesn't fit very much like the lace super boost. The cups don't have as much space at the center top, and the straps are much firmer. But I believe that is mostly to do with the material being firmer.
the back of the band is very cute and interesting, it doesn't seem to serve much purpose, but it's a nice detail. The straps in this version are partially convertible, another nice detail; However because the straps are so firm and short it isn't much use to people with taller torsos.
This bra fit me well when I bought it, but my shape changed (read: gained weight) and now the cups are too small. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Fits closer to 28E than the labeled size. Narrow and deep cups, straps 1.3cm, not too stretchy, hooks&eyes and metal details in a golden finish. Fabric is soft lacey mesh, high quality finish and the signature gateway closure. turquoise colourway
I love the gateway back. Does it give the same pointy shape the Phoebe does? That danged bra. I wanted to love it. It was too short for my roots then, but I've lost all upper fullness now. But I couldn't handle the pointyness.
Luxury Lace fits me awful now, but I can't recall it really being pointy while it fitted. Weight changes can result in dramatic fit changes as well. I was at war with Phoebe, but PetiteCollegiate wears it like a queen. :) Luxury Lace is made of a more flexible fabric, while Phoebe's fabric was firmer, kinda rigid.
I'm jealous Petite can rock the Phoebe. Sigh. I think 30E might still be too small for me despite losing tissue.
I only wish I could lose some... "tissue". LOL
I've mostly lost what little upper fullness I had, which wasn't much to begin with... :-S
This bra sizewise fits similar to Phoebe in 30E, so closer to 28E than 30E. Adding the measurements as we speak.
I was sure Gossard's new Gypsy bra was going to be perfect. Unlined, nude-ish, some stretch lace. I wasn't sure what size to get with it though because Gossard hasn't been the most consistent on sizing for me. I ordered a 30F, a 30E and a 32E. For reference in cleos I'm a 30F. The 32 band was much too loose. I fastened it on the second set of hooks right away and could have easily used the third set. So on to the 30s. The 30E was unsurprisingly too small. But the shape was a lot like the ...Gossard super plunge lace I have in 32DD. Also it's just one hook in the back and between that and the stretchy straps I feel much too bouncy.... Even if I wasn't quadding on my bigger side. So I eagerly grab the last one .... The cup was much too big. I could have put two ping pong balls in side by to finish filling out the top of the cup. The shape I got was less rounded than I like.... Probably a lot to do with the cup being too large. The nude also wasn't as nude for me as I would have hoped. Think rose gold but rose nude- pretty sure that isn't a thing but that is the best way for me to describe the color. I loved the way it said vintage (albeit 70s-early80s) to me but not how it rubbed my armpit. I've gotten overly protective of my armpit. If I'd gotten it on half price I probably would have tried to attach the straps in on the cup some and taken up a bit of the slack. I piniched it that way and it had promise but at almost full price I'm not very excited about trying. Cry! I also ordered a couple other nude bras from Journelle at the same time and a black Heidi Klum - nothing fit right. I'm so thankful for their free returns. The band on the 30 is 30-30.5 stretched and on the 32 it's about 32-33" The depth on the 32E is about 10-10.5 and the 30F about 10.5" and on the 30E is 9". I see now easily why neither fit. I like 9.5" depth a lot of times. The width on all is three is approximately 5.25" Read more 308 more words
This bra would be close to perfect if it came in a 32GG. My only issue with it is the band is a bit too big but that hasn't stopped me from buying four of them! Sheer & sexy, Very comfortable & slightly minimizing I wear this bra when I want a more natural shape.
**edit:** After occasional wearing, turns out this bra behaves to much like Gossard Lola: too closed on top + non stretch makes it push my boobs down and outwards. Not so pretty.
Nice 'luxurious' looking bra. There's an intricate lacey / embroidered border, polkadots and even some black sequins (haha). Signature Gossard cage back, which in this case doesn't really match the 'baroque-y' design imo; but still ok. The bra is lined with beige coloured mesh: 'nude' for some people but it might show if it's not your skin-tone.
Fairly good fit in a 32G. Like many Gossard bras, the back is somewhat tighter than average. For me ...this is good, as I'm normally more of a 30GG this allows me to easily sister size to 32G.
Bottom of the cups don't allow enough projection, there's a fight going on between my boobs and the lower half of the cups 😒 Seems to look worse in pictures than in the mirror though (usually for me it's the other way around with bra fitting issues - hard to properly capture in a photo).
Cups are borderline small - and / or the projection issue eats up space - but not bad enough to quad. As there's no stretch in the cups, the fit in this bra is kind of tricky (easy for minor issues to cause wrinkling).
Nice low wings! Even if the straps are still too far apart (my everlasting issue), the low wings somewhat help in saving my armpits.
For an unlined bra, this gives quite a round shape. Somewhat similar to my Flirtelle Giselle unpadded. Versatile bra - pretty enough to show but basic enough to wear under many outfits. Read more 171 more words
TTS, not the very tight band this brand often produces, this one is really a 30. I had high expectations for this bra. It is a lightweight garment, very airy lace. Summery material, soft to touch - usual high quality typical of Gossard. The only downside is the flimsy wire - it doesn't hold firm enough. *EDIT after some wear: I acually don't mind the light wire, tend to forget I am wearing a bra, really comfortable. Maybe just got broken in or I have gotten used to it, don't know really. But definitely a bit small in the cup on my bigger side, where it occasionally quads. The colour is more beige than yelloish, close up pic shows true hue.
Visually this is a very beautiful bra. Despite having lots of details and being sturdy it's simple and delicate (in a good way). It's not the easiest bra to wear due to the half-padding and the stitching at the apex showing through clothes that aren't thick and patterned. It's also pointy but I happen to like that shape, so it's not a problem. The neckline is a cross between a plunge and a full coverage bra. I wouldn't recommend this bra if you are very FOT since the cup is closed and has very little stretch. I've only worn it once but nothing chafed or poked me, ...it's very soft and comfortable. The gateway back is my favorite due to the two thick straps. It feels firm but I am wearing it on the first hooks b/c it's too big for me. Maybe because this is my sister size and the band could stand to be tighter but I felt like the straps had too much stretch. I plan on altering the band to see if this can be remedied. I chose size 32FF since my 32F - Gossard » Rochelle Deep Teal Staylo Plunge Bra (5251) was a tad too small in the cup and the band was very, very firm. Now I have a bra which is more like a 34FF I guess, since the cups are bigger than in the 32G - Katie Price » (AW09P1) and the band rides up when fastened on the last set of hooks. The wires dig into my ribcage which is not comfortable, and the whole construction is a mess for FOB boobs. I guess a person with more FOT and less firm boobs would find it more comfortable.
this bra was quite loose for my so I cuted band about 5cm (my normally bra size is 30b/c or 28d). photo is without air padded pillows, I albo made wires a bit wider becouse they were too narrow. I will use it just with straps- without is fine but after few hours dont looks god. with straps looks as on a picture after few hours. I really love that desing i'm 67cm underbust and 82cm in
Pros: Having worn the 28F - Freya » Just Flew In Padded Longline Bra (1393), I was pleased to find that the Retrolution Staylo Plunge has some boning down the front and sides of the bra to keep it from folding up. With it being a plunge, the cups of the Retrolution fit my wide-rooted, shallow boobs surprisingly well. The shape it gives is round and pleasing.
Cons: Personally, I could do without the lace. I would rather have something more comfortable. The biggest issue I have with this bra is how wide set the straps are in the front. This causes the cups to gap when my shoulders are forward.

This bra's measurements have been altered
Altered straps,
Straps were moved inward. Removed extra fabric from cup armpit area.
I was very excited to try an alternative to the 28E - Freya » Deco Moulded Soft Cup Bra (4231), since I used to wear only wire-free bras prior to discovering my proper size. The Super Smooth Plunge has some advantages over the Deco Soft Cup, but also has some unfortunate drawbacks.
Pros: Gossard designed the Super Smooth so that the cups and band are one piece. The material used in the band is pretty hefty, so it keeps the cups from collapsing into the band, as the Deco Soft Cup does. Though it is a wire-free bra, it does have a little more structure than I ...expected from a wire-free bra. I have wide-rooted, shallow boobs, and it worked well for my shape.
Cons: I find the padding to be a little overzealous for a bra meant for comfort. I do wish it came in a 28 sized band. My biggest complaint is that the straps are set too wide, which causes some gaping if my shoulders slouch forward. Not only that, but due to the smooth, moulded construction of the bra, altering the straps will not be easy. Read more 82 more words
Such a lovely bra. Fits well, gives nice rounded shape (better than Gossard Superboost Lace Non Padded Balcony Bra (7715) Wires has right length and they're wide enough. Really love the style of it. Although, theres something that i can't wear this bra - the wires dig into my chest, and i can't stand it, even if it fits well, band not too tight, cups fist perfect.
The band of this bra only stretches to 28". With a 26" ribcage, I can comfortably wear it. So sad it is discontinued, but it is not completely sold out. You can find them on ebay UK for about $20. I am not sure about other Gossard bras, but I think there is a good chance that people with sub-26" ribcage can wear them.
I love the gateway back. Does it give the same pointy shape the Phoebe does? That danged bra. I wanted to love it. It was too short for my roots then, but I've lost all upper fullness now. But I couldn't handle the pointyness.
