Great bra but do size up in the band!! This one is purple/violet with white stripe on top.

My boobs are: wide + tall root, shallow. My "usual" size: 28F.

I have had the wired version in 30E and 28F (black, pink, purple, turqouise, raspberry colourways) (oh dear, how many I´ve owned!!!). 28F started to feel a bit too tight at some point so I sized up to 30E. I couldn´t even close this 28F, first I had to go get an extender!! So I do think it is tighter in the band than the wired version.

Other than that, it is a great bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Feels very supportive and comfortable and gives great lift! I think that in my case, it fits just as well as the wired one. "Cups" are wide enough and the shape is awesome.

Soft, comfortable, and supportive. Minimizes bouncing downward, but upper breast tissue is free to move about. I don't fill out the top parts of the cup due to my breasts being bottom-heavy. The top seems to sit away from my skin. I tried a cup size down, with unsuccessful results- cup was way too small, I had tissue leaking out under my arms, but still didn't fill the top half of the cup. I've never gotten a good fit out of any Panache bra, though, so this is unsurprising to me.

The band size runs SMALL and is TIGHT, especially for all-day wear. Definitely a technical bra built for heavy exercise, wouldn't recommend for yoga or stretching.

The J hook in the back. Convenient if you want a racer back look. But beware- if you have long hair, your hair WILL get caught in the hook! My braid has gotten caught on it many times, causing awkward head turning, weird faces, and minor whiplash. Not cool.

If you're having trouble filling the top due to bottom heaviness, I suggest trying the nonwired sport in your regular size instead of sizing down. I wrote an extensive review of the 34FF http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dlri8/

    • Many people size down in the cups due to so much space in the top. I actually wear it in 2 cup sizes smaller than my UK size. I'm a 30J/32HH but wear this bra in 30H and 32GG. You could go up a band and then down a cup to see if that helps as well (so instead of sister sizing to a 34FF, try 34F.)

    • Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! littlechichend, I didn't realize they had a non-wired option for this bra. Your review is very convincing-- now I just have to figure out my "regular size."
I'm nervous about sizing up in the band, due to the 32 fitting well on the loosest hook, and the 34 I tried on being a bit too loose.

Has anyone tried the Panache sport top with this bra built in? Hourglassy did a great write-up on it, but I am curious for more input. It looks like a great option for hiking.

    • Hi it's wrong to try one cup size down I have the same problem I try 32h and the top was away from my skin I must go for 30J but there is no size like this so I try 32HH and I found the best fit my only problem was the band I start from second hook and I don't know what I do later

This is a very well made and supportive bra. It gives amazing uplift and gets the boobs out from under the arms. The materials is very supportive and has minimal stretch. I would consider this bra best for busts without wide roots. I have quite wide, shallow roots and the wires of this bra sat on breast tissue on the sides of my ribcage. Also, since the material is so supportive and has little stretch, I would recommend buying at or one size up in the band or consider wearing with an extender until the bra stretches a little with wear. I have listed this bra if you are interested in purchase or trade!

I don't do a whole lot of cardio, so even though I love my Shock Absorbers, I don't need to be squashed down mot gym days. So, I wanted something else, something more comfortable.
I tried the Panache on recommendation from a friend and I really quite liked it. It is comfortably projected, it isn't terribly wide, and the wires are crazy cushioned. I like that the cups are high. I'm high set and I don't like showing a lot of cleavage at the gym, so this works well for me. Because it is so high coverage, I can also easily wear it on its own during summer which ... is my preference.
The volume was appropriate for me in the cups.
The band is TTS 28 and the tension distribution is really excellent. It's a firm 28 and I had trouble hooking it myself (you can see I missed the middle eye, oops). Once it was on it was pretty comfortable. But I opted to order a 30E instead. I'm not doing cardio and the band is wide enough that the top was digging into my lats. That may or may not have been uncomfortable at a later time. I don't need the ultra snug band since I'm not running, jumping, climbing trees in this.
This went back, I'll review the 30E more thoroughly since I'll be using it beforehand.

    • I don't know if they have changed their bands since my last purchase, but the band in this bra, IMO, isn't suitable for people with a large thorax amplitude - I mean the difference in circumference when you breath in and out. I used to wear the 30E for horse riding and it wasn't always comfortable, but the band was perfect, or even too loose, at rest.

    • 1

I agree, this band size isn't suitable for me at all. It was comfortable at my underbust, but I am about 36" around my upper lat and pecs. I have to be able to flare and rotate and all that goodness when I lift and a 28" band that was that high just isn't going to accommodate that flex comfortably, if at all. I didn't try since I didn't want to hurt myself or pull a hook since I was returning it.
That is one really nice thing about the Shock Absorber Gym Bra, there's that other portion of the band that can be adjusted differently to fit those flares. It's nice.

This bra is just the most comfortable bra! I got this bra from a friend with some others for trying out different sizes. I am so glad she sent me this one! Even though the 28FF I own does fit, this one is great too! I do get a little (just a very little!) Quadboobs in it, but it feels so secure, even without the racerneck! And due to sizing down the wires aren't that much too wide anymore! Wuhuu! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />

So, this isn't a perfect bra for me by any means. The cups are a bit too small, and there's some minor quadding at the top. The band, while measuring as stretchy enough, is difficult enough to fasten that I stuck an extender in it. I'm not too keen on the grey color.

But I found it at a Nordstrom Rack for $25, so whatever. It's definitely "good enough".

It definitely serves my purposes for what I need it for - low to medium intensity workouts. I'm not sure how good it'd be for more high-intensity stuff, it being wireless, but it keeps me strapped down pretty well that ... it'd probably be supportive enough.

The one thing that bugs me about it is that the bottom of the bra tends to twist itself around inside of the fabric, which can be annoying. But I can live with that, as once it's on it's fine. I do like the look it gives; a bit compressed but pretty roundy. I like round.

So, perfect bra? No. Pretty damn good bra and a fantastic find? Absolutely.

GET ONE!!! Find a good size!!! Get another one!! Haha... I knew from the reviews these were pretty good but I've been aiming at the wrong cup size... And even now I could probably use the 34E... But I'm satisfied!! Nice firm hold on my rib cage, no movement and I'm still on the first hook.. which is great because I dislike starting out in the middle hook, feels like it may already be too big and if it proves stretchy would be https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />. Overall I'm just happy!! Wore yesterday with some Ewa michalak cookies... That was blissful!!! Gave me a little space between the bottom of the cup (on my ribcage) and lifted my boobs off of the wire area. Has anybody else tried this bra!!!?

I have 3 (2 in a 30E and one in 30DD which is small on me) and have found I need a band extender for the first wear after a wash and then I can use the largest hook. I can be bloated and tender from PMS and I can still run 5-6km with no problems.

    • Good to know about the washing!!! Hehe they're still snug at the end of the day so I bet washing the first couple times would've had me worried ;)!!! Had tried a panache 32ff Porcelain model back at the beginning of my quest that gave me quad boobs, which is why I was so thrown off by sizing!! Now that I know my ballpark sport size I am tickled!!

    • 1

I find the band on the Panache Porcelain Elan more true to size and it stretches more even though the tag still says 30E.

I'll start by saying I bought this to wear for comfort, as I'm not exactly a work-out maven these days...or ever. For that purpose, I can really sing its praises. I found a great deal on amazon for this, and bought 2 different sizes, this one and a 36FF, to test out which is best. For reference, my best size in Panache right now is 36FF. While the band on both the 36 and 38 felt nearly the same, I decided to keep the 38 based on comfort level alone. The 36 band was a good fit, but I felt the straps rub more on the 36 than ... the 38. I'm tall with a long torso, so I often have to wear straps at their longest length (and even then find them uncomfortably tight).

The band is still snug, though a size too large, and the cups fit perfectly. The shape, especially for a wireless, is remarkable. I previously tried this in a 34G, and couple seasons ago, and I can say for sure the fit has only improved. I love it when companies keep improving fit as the seasons pass! The shape is very round and perky, and not at all conical or uniboob. I will wear the heck out of this around the house, and will enjoy having a very supportive and comfortable option for the work week on days I want the extra comfort.

The only qualm I have with the fit is the cups' shallowness toward the bottom. However, given all the other strengths of this bra, it's a small quibble that barely needs mention.

My experience with "convertible" bras has always been that in their efforts to work well in multiple styles, they work great in none. This bra is another testament to that rule. While the colourway is fun and sporty, giving the bra a cool appearance, and the band fits great (29" ribcage, I found it TTS compared to Panache & Cleo), I had fit issues and RETURNED.

This bra was not meant for my breast shape. It is too east-west for me and did not support me in the middle, making it uncomfortable and poorly resistant to my bounce (I'd be better off with my old ratty cotton nylon sports ... bras that I've had for 6 years). I do not recommend this bra for someone with close set or projected breasts. It also digs into the top of my breast a little(not a huge deal, but confirms for me that this is a shape mismatch, not a problem of cup being too big). Meanwhile, the straps are too long on their tightest setting. The sides of the cups come up too high for me, digging into my underarm area, making this bra uncomfortable even for loungewear, and negating the possibility of shortening the straps. I also have an odd fit issue with the bottom of the cup.

The inner semi-molded layer folds over at the bottom of the cup, and this continues around the sides of the band. It is uncomfortable. I think it's because I don't fill the outer bottom area of the cup, and this bra wants boobs that are more shallow or FOB. If you prefer a wider gore (i.e. don't have close-set breasts) and aren't worried about straps being too long, you might like this bra. The fold mostly disappears when I convert to racerback, but I find the racerback extremely uncomfortable, as it causes the sides of the cup to dig in even further, and puts too much pressure on my shoulders, even with straps loosened.

This bra was a big fat fail for me. I'm hesitant to try the underwire version because of this bad experience, and because TONS of women on amazon reviews report the underwire poking through within the first few months of use with that one. I tried Wacoal Contour which also has underwire at Dillards in 32G US and it was WAY better than this. Although I wish they made it in 30H, I may get it.

This is such a great sports bra, you don't realize how much bounce and jiggle you experience even with smaller boobs until you eliminate it entirely. Wow, what a difference it makes! An other thing this bra did for me was make me realize that there is at least a whole cup size in difference between my bigger and my smaller boob. It shows very clearly on my left side where the is an indentation where I simply cant fill the top of the cup whilst my right size fills it completely. I think my right side is even a tiny bit crammed, I did buy the F cup first though and it was too big. I'm guessing that if you have very little tissue on the top half of your breasts you might experience a bit of the same trouble as my smaller side.

I don't have much upper fullness, and had to size down 2 cup sizes. The wide gore in this does not fit between my breasts. (Freya active is a bit more narrow and friendly to my shape). This bra is very tall- which is great for a lot of people but not me with my short roots. The wires of the gore end at a normal height but the top fabric of the bra extends significantly higher, which makes it poke out away from my body- it is noticeable thru tshirts, otherwise I would like it as an everyday bra. The straps are a but too long for me.
That being said, I still love it for exercising. Once I sized down the 2 cups, it controls bouncing nicely. The padded underwires are awesome. Awesome. Why don't all bras do this? And the fabric and design really do minimize boob swear and keep me cool.

Too big in band. Not very supportive. The straps didn't adjust short enough.

    About the bra in general:
    + It is beyond comfortable!
+ Padded wire channels / wide shoulder straps
+ Band is wide and supportive
    + racer-back option
+ very nice round shape (not the dreaded flat boob shape)
+ good for lighter activities or lounging

    - limited size range (If there was 34J / 34JJ, I think that would be my "proper" size)
    - it does limit bouncing somewhat but I doubt I'd go jogging with this bra or do heavy impact activity https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_confused.gif" alt=":S" />
    - gore does not tack (in any of the sizes I tried)

    "What's good about this bra?"

Well, first of all, and most importantly – it supports!

The sizing runs quite large both in the cup and the band, so if you're between sizes, I recommend sizing down, or even beyond that. I first tried it in 70G, which already is smaller than the 70GG that mostly I use in Ewa Michalak. But even if the cup was fairly okay, it was way too big in the band and offered zero support.

The 65G (i.e. one size smaller both in the band and cup), on the other hand, is pretty much perfect! It passed my bounce and wiggle test with flying colours. ... I'll give you an update tomorrow after putting it through the ultimate test: horseback riding.

The band is okay, snug enough, although I can fasten it in the second hooks without it being too uncomfortable. Thus I might have to narrow it down in the future, but that's not anytime too soon, I hope. The cup might be just a tad too small for me (especially my right breast), but if that's the price for decent support, I'm definitely willing to pay!

The straps are wide and comfortable, but a bit too long for me – I always have to shorten the straps if they're not fully adjustable... But when the straps are fastened to an X with the extra hook between the shoulder blades, they're okay, and the support is even better.

As if it wasn't enough that there exists a sports bra in this universe that actually fits and supports even my size, the shape this bra gives is very nice! Not at all sports-bra-ey.

Edit: Now it's been tested in horseback riding, and I can confirm it works. Or at least I didn't notice any disturbing bouncing – of course my focus isn't on my boobs when I'm riding (and I'm wearing winter clothes), but if it were too bouncy, I think I'd feel it. So far, still so good!

I never thought a sports bra could be this amazing! It fits so well. I might have been able to get away with a 38GG as the cup is a little big. I might be able to tighten the straps enough for this to not matter. There is an option to hook the straps together in back to do a crossback/racer-back style, which could tighten it up a bit more. The bra is incredibly comfortable and gives a really round and uplifted shape.

My favorite part of this bra is the center gore which lies completely flat and separates nicely. I tend to sweat in my cleavage a lot ... when I wear sports bras that just mash the boobs together. There are actually two layers in the center, one which sits against the breastbone while the other mesh layer is further away, giving it that typical crop-top style sports bra look.

It's nice being able to get cute sports bras that fit in my size. If I felt comfortable enough, I would even wear this without a shirt over it.

    LOVE. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

The band is nice and snug. The double layer over the cups (a foamy layer with encased underwires plus a seamed stretchy fabric cover) is super awesome. It looks good under a shirt, and I'm seriously tempted to wear it as a bikini top for fresh water swimming as the seam lines are very flattering.

The bra keeps me separated, without sticking my boobs into my armpits. I can do cartwheels without needing to adjust. Nothing pokes me or scratches me. The wires stop at "balconette" level in the centre, and then the padded fabric/mesh overlay continues up, so there's no chance of pressure sores on ... the sternum. This is so much more comfortable than my (now too big) Freya Underwire sports bra.

The straps are padded, as is the fabric that goes under the hooks in the back. The straps can also hook together to make the bra into a racer-back style, but I haven't tried that yet.

If only it had a lower neckline, so I could make it my every day bra. Sigh. I love my Elomi Caitlyn as well (which I also wish was lower cut), but this bra does a little minimizing due to the compression, which makes me happy on days where I don't want my boobs to be centre of attention.

Edit: It's probably not evident from the photo, but the wires in the centre gore sit against my chest, but the extension tends to poof out. I *just* fill this bra, but a cup size down was too small. If you're not very soft, or don't have a lot on top, this bra probably won't work for you.

  16. Sports Bra (5021)

I like this bra. This is the first sports bra that I've ever owned, and I decided that it was time to invest in one. So far, I've been using this as a yoga/around-the-house/sleeping bra. I'm excited that I'll finally have something appropriate for dance classes once I can afford to take those again.

The bra fits really well, except that the center gore is a little wide and a little high for my close set breasts,,, This is why I usually wear nothing but plunge bras. They fit my shape the best... Anyways, as a result, the center gore of this sports bra can sometimes become a little irritating/itchy with a lot of movement.

However, this isn't super noticeable and is offset by the fact that I get such great support in this thing. I just feel really secure. No jiggling because the bra covers the entire breast area. Cups are true to size and the band is nice and firm. This also gives a really nice shape under a shirt.

I am not such a super exercise machine like I should be, but I wanted to invest in a good sports bra because, let's face it -- without one, there's absolutely NO hope of me ever getting out there to exercise! I like to jog when I have time and the weather is good, so I really needed something better than the crappy one-size-fits-most champion sports bras.

I chose the purple and grey version of the panache sports bra simply because it looked awesome. It's a little more "fun" than just black and probably shows the grime a little less than white. It doesn't look like a sports bra ... meant to hold in big boobs, it looks great!

The biggest con so far is that the band is, in my opinion, extremely small. My underbust measurement fluctuates between about 27.5 to 28.5, and I can close this band on the loosest hooks, but just barely. I feel that I may have to get a band extender to extend it seriously just one more hook's width in order to, you know, breathe properly! I like a good, fitted band, but this might be a bit too much.

The other HUGE plus of this bra is the shape it gives me! Whoa! I'm used to the unending uniboob of other sports bras, but this gives a nice, rounded shape with two clearly defined boobs! It isn't as super awesome as my other bras(naturally), but I feel like I could wear this underneath real clothing with the intention of taking a jog later in the day and not feel self conscious that it's overtly obvious that I am wearing a sports bra, given that the cut of the shirt isn't giving it away.

UPDATE: This bra no longer fits as a sports bra, but that doesn't stop me from wearing it as a comfortable lounge bra. The gore, still sits on my chest, and on the tightest set of hooks, it still supports me without riding up in the back. The cup on my smaller side isn't quite filled at the top, but otherwise, I still love it, and as soon as I stop moving around weight-wise, I'll re-purchase it.

This is a fantastic bra - supportive, comfortable, and attractive enough that I don't hesitate to wear it under a T-shirt (do note that the gore cups up about 3" higher ... than the underwire, and it is padded enough to add an 1" to my full bust).

I would say that it runs fairly true in the cup but perhaps a tad small in the band (it is a sports bra). It was a bit snug in the cup when I purchased it (many reviews say to go down a cup size, but I disagree - if anything, I should have gone up to a G), but now that I measure a 32G, it actually fits quite comfortably. I do yoga and horseback ride in it (not jumping https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />. It's a great all around sports bra.

    Also, the purple is awesome.

I like this bra a lot, even though I'm not quite happy with the support it gives. In a scale 1-10 I'd give it a 7 for support, whereas I'd give Enell a 9,5, Bravissimo Inspire a 9 and Royce a 6.5. In other words, yeah, it's good for most low impact sports, but for running or martial arts I'll still go for Enell and Bravissimo. If you use the racerback option the support is a bit better, but I still think there's too much upward bounce.
The bra looks good, a definite plus. The colours (I have the grey-lilac) are really nice and it's the only sports bra I've had that gives a decent-looking shape under shirts. Not too pointy and not a uni-boob.
It's also extremely comfortable on, the straps are great and the wires are well padded. A shame they don't make it in larger cups than H. (HINT!!!)

  20. Sports Bra (5021)

If I were in charge of naming this bra, it's name would be "Like a Boss." It looks and feels like serious armor and, indeed, I'm not going anywhere in this thing, no matter how much jumping and bending over I do. But it's so comfortable!! There is no part of this bra that pokes or pinches or digs in anywhere. There is extra cushioning in the straps, around the wires, and behind the hooks. The wires also stop way before the bra does, which makes them extra comfy (1/2 in under the arm and 2 inches in the front!). My boobs ... are separated and supported and so happy. I want to wear this everyday!

A few more things I should mention: I never ever work out, I just wanted something for every day. Though, I do watch a lot of kids at work, that's kind-of exercising.. Also, this review was written the day I bought the bra, so if anything changes, I'll come back and edit. And third, my measurement of the inside of the cup may be off. There is a double layer of fabric in the cups, and they don't lay together until you put it on. Lastly, you can wear this with straight straps or as a racer back. Awesome!

eta: It's still wonderful, I love it!
