The Panache Sports Ultimate Impact #5021B is a padded underwired Sports bra. While it comes in many colorways, I ordered them in the Stripe Print, which is a white bra with Grey stripes and netting, with neon yellow accent stripes, inside of cups, and under the netting, . I love the print!
The padding is what I’d call medium thickness, and for comparison, firmer and more dense than Ewa or Comexim padded bras. I assume this is for adding support/lock down during workouts. With this firmer foam, there is almost no stretch or give to the cups.
The straps are also padded, and go from narrow to wider over ...the shoulders then back to narrow on the back. Adjustments for straps are only half way.
Details/oddities noted The gore was 4.75" tall to the top of the wires while it is 7.4" to top of bra, so over a 3rd of the gore is a soft gore. Notable Oddity-I couldn’t feel the wires. A Panache Bra that you can’t feel the wires? How is this possible?!? Potentially related to this, I am not sure if it is the too large band, the too small cups, or a combination of both, but the gore at the bottom of the band floats off my ribs/belly by 2 fingers. Also, Sports bras have always run tight in the band for support, but both of the Panache Sports bras that I received ran large in my opinion.
As for fit, Gore is 3.5 fingers off the sternum, Cups sort of fit but the floating gore so far off my sternum for Panache tells me that they are really too small…add that the side of the cup was not eating my armpit, and well, I have to admit the cups are too small. Plus the band floating, and size was a no go as well. I love the print and color though so I am so sad!
And for the technical aspects: All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band measures 27.25” and stretches to a max of 32.25”. It has 3 hooks and 3 rows of eye loops.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12.25” 2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 13.25”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
While the 34GG they sent me only had a ½” max give to the cups, this one had a full 1” give which is odd. This one gave me that “I’ve been worn then returned” vibe so I am thinking that may be why the cups had more give to them. (The packaging was different, and with the bar code labels just being looped through the straps for easy removal, it would unfortunately be very easy for someone to wear a bra for a few days or weeks to try it out and still return it within the Amazon 30 day return window without issue. The foam still felt firm, but had creases within it, which indicates improper storage at the least, but also the potential of machine wash/dryer dried. I can’t say for sure, but altogether it had that used vibe.
Anyway, needless to say, this one also went back to Amazon, and the Sports Bra search continues…. Read more 589 more words
Hi I go back to 32GG because the 30 was very tight under my bust and it was uncomfortable I buying this nice yellow color from fingleavs 30% cheaper.i like it very much and I will stay with 32band .the good days of month I can’t wear 30 band I hope this color will be like 😊
Hi again after a big journey of many sizes and a lot returns I think I found it its30H .thanks to fingleavs for that they helped me a lot .this bra is true to size in band iam 29 and I went for 30 .the band is comfortable tight the cups fits me very well and at last the straps are ok for my body.the cup runs big you must go down the size if you stay your standard size after the back stretch out the cups seems that are big .everything starts from band .the shape is anwsome is the best fit I wear it all day iam not a gum girl but who cares
It looks great! After you posted your review for the black lace one, I looked for one. eBay has a new one for a good price in 30h Incase you want one in this size!
Hi where ? How much? Iam interesting for this too it’s a great bra if you never find your size
Finally a sports bra that fits! It holds my boobs in great. It's a little wide, but I expected that from panache. I'm a 30GG/H but I prefer a little looser of a band, so I went with a 32GG. I probably could have done a 32G, but I mostly fill out the bra just fine. I love how tall the cups are without being uncomfortable. It's like added security and hides my Tail of Spence https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Surprisingly comfortable. I’ve read these do not have to tack at the very top, but lower where the wires are in the gore - it does. This is a good size for me and looks to have additional room if you’re fuller on top.
I think this bra is from the best I have try .iam not gum girl I wear it every day all day and it doesn’t disappoint me I call it winter bra and it made its job I think I don’t wear another it’s true to size iam 30J in Curvy Kate and I buy this in all colours my only issue is that I made the mistake and altered the band now is very tight and I can wear them I try to sell them it very shame they are all new never wash only altered if someone want them let contact with me and we see the colors are latte ,grey ,cosmic print ,grafic print and combat each bra I sell it 20Gbp
this bra is like a feat of engineering it is so high quality and thoughtfully made! the band is nice and tight yet soft and very comfortable. the wires, straps, and hooks are slightly padded for comfort. the cups give a rounded shape.
for my boobs, the only ill-fitting part is the gore. it's too wide for my boobs (which have like virtually no space between them) so my boobs can't conform to the cups, lessening the total support i get. the gore also doesn't tack but this is not bad, because if it did, my breasts would be too separate-looking for a sports bra. i like a bit of a flattened, boob-loaf look for sports bras.
Update: The cups are too small now and cut into my top bust area and the parts that escape the top jiggle as I wear it.
Best sports bra ever! Gives great shape and support! I love how it separates my boobs so I get some air flow. I also wear it around the house a lot because it is so comfortable! Great for staying at home with 2 active boys!
Great bra, just not the right fit for me. I just wore it on a walk: I definitely need a 32 band, and I'm not surprised as that's what I prefer now anyway. Cups have nice immediate and peak projection. Gore is designed as a soft tack and definitely does keep the breasts separate. Purchased unreturnable, so will wash and be selling at some point.
It's been a while since I tried the 30FF - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021). Since losing weight, I thought I'd compare the wired and non-wired versions again. I found this in a department store in the gray colorway. The cups were a little loose on top, but I remembered straight away why this bra doesn't work for me: the gore. It is too tall and wide for my close-set, center full boobs. I get a funny shape towards the middle. The wires in general are also not cushioned enough for me and the straps don't adjust short enough. I find the materials to be ...scratchier than the non-wired by far, too. I was really hoping that it would work for me this time around. I have had some luck with Panache bras in my new size even though I could never wear them before, including some with gores that are taller than I can usually tolerate. It would have been nice to own both the wired and non-wired, especially because I find the recent colorways in the wired to be much nicer than the block solids of the non-wired. Boo. How great is the bra in the right size! I usually wear a 30GG in Panache, but the sports bra in that size ran a bit large. I had some empty space at the apex in the 30GG. The 30G is perfect. A bit on the wide side, but not as bad as Freya's sports bra. Band is comfortably tight (I wear 28s in Freya and Cleo, but 30 in Panache).
The blue Odyssey print is pretty, but darker than I expected. I would call it more of a teal than a turquoise.
So, my boobs are shallow on top and tend to stick out more than someone who had more fullness on top. At the 40GG size, this bra really squashes my boobs flat, but the top parts of the cup sit a good two inches away from the skin. Also, the band seems way too tight for a 40, but I suspect that is because the band doesn't stretch much.
Overall, it's a really really well made bra, very nice. It just doesn't fit my curves quite right. If the cups were more of a plunge style, and the band perhaps a 42, it would have been ideal for me.
After months of reading and re-reading reviews, I decided to go up in band size and down in cup. This was a great idea, as I can't imagine being able to close a 28 band! This bra fits between how a 28F and 28FF would fit on me. When I'm sitting comfortably, the band is perfect. If I'm breathing really hard, it can start to feel a bit tight. While you obviously want security and no bounce, you also want to breathe!! So I definitely recommend sizing up in band. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I'm full on top with tall roots and slightly empty breasts ...on bottom, and you can tell this cup shape is a bit ski-slope in comparison to my shape, so it's a shape mis-match. When I swoop and scoop, it cuts into the top of my roots, and I fill the whole cup. Once I settle, it hardly cuts in (I wouldn't call it quadding, I would just call it normal pressing into the skin since it's a tight edge binding), but there's a bit of an empty bubble directly above my apex, because my natural apex is about an inch lower than the apex of the bra. BUT, the shape is round, and not pointy like I've read Freya is. The shape looks great under any shirt.
Considering the foam is so stiff and thick, and I don't feel any bounce at all (I've gone walking, biking, and done basic stretches and exercises in it. No running yet.), despite the bubble, so I can forgive the shape mis-match.
The straps are SUPER comfortable. I can't wear it racer back, but luckily the straps are close enough set that I don't even need to! If I'm feeling like my shoulders are getting a bit cramped, I can loosen the straps, and the bra has such great structure that it doesn't make a difference. The padded wires are super comfortable too. This has almost become my day/sitting at home bra because it's so comfy. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> Again, the only time it gets uncomfortable is when breathing really hard.
I highly recommend it!! Size up in band. Keep you sister size cup letter if you're a very full and round shape, but size down in cup if you're more of a pointy or medium-to-shallow or slightly empty shape. Read more 288 more words
Did they have 28 bands? I've been looking hard for a sports bra, but I'm a small 26...so that would be perfect for me.
girl333 Yep, it includes 28 bands! :) According to the 28F page (sister size to 30E), the average band length is 23.75 inches with a max stretch is about 28.25 inches. I need a max stretch of about 29.5", so that's why I sized up to 30, because the average stretched length of a 30E band is 29.9 inches.
Ahh. I found one on Amazon. I need a max stretch of 23-26 with 24/25 being ideal. I ordered a 28G so hopefully the band on it is smaller! Thanks so much!
Panache Sport (non wired and wired) are my favorite bras so far. They are so comfortable and fit so nicely. I pretty much wear them as a T-shirt bra. They work pretty well as sports bras, too. There's a clip on the straps for extra support when needed. My only complaint is that they're too high up to wear v-neck and other lower-cut clothes.
Oh man, these sports bras are insanely comfortable, even if they are sort of ugly, hah! A 32G fits me the best, other than the wires are too long and poke me in the armpits sometimes. (One side poked through the fabric; my husband bent the wire on the end so that it wouldn't poke, and I just quickly stitched the fabric back together. It's ugly, but works.) I wear them pretty much every day, all day long, but I'm not particularly active. If I did, though, these would be great at containing "the bounce." Highly recommended, even with the armpit-poking problems.
I wore this when I had a 32-33" underbust, and wore a 32Hish in bras and it was great. I have narrow and short roots, am FOT, close-set and the Panache Sport is a wonderful fit (it was great beforehand when I had a 34GG, and now it's great in 30G). It gives a really nice rounded shape rather than the often pointy shape that sports bras can give, as the cups are lightly padded. The underwires are coated in silicone so they don't dig in even when the band is firm. The straps are padded in the right way so they don't look frumpy but they don't dig in your shoulders.
It's very comfortable and holds everything in place perfectly, it feels very secure. It also looks pretty enough that I would wear it as a sports top out in public if it was warm enough. The purple colourway is my favourite and I think the nicest looking, but since it is discontinued, I now have the black in the 30G.
This is definitely better in the band for me, but it's still kind of high in the back. Aside from creating some less than aesthetic bulges, the band is functional enough to allow me to flex comfortably. At rest it is looser than I would like, but that's okay. The size is appropriate. This specific one I returned because there were some pretty bad creases in the cups. I'm not sure if they would come out or not and I felt it was ridiculous for a new bra at this price. I have ordered the same size, in a different color, from a different vendor. Here's hoping I can keep that one and review it properly.
This was overall too small for me. I had read that the Panache Sport runs a little big, so I ordered two sizes to try out. The cups were too small for sure. I had too much left out of the wires on the sides, not because they were too narrow, but because there just wasn't room. If the bra wasn't so tall I would have had crazy quadding. As it is I had awesome date night cleavage in it (it doesn't show up well in the pics, which is a shame because it was impressive to behold), but I'm lifting weights not picking up dates, so nope. The wires were cozy though and the band was TTS. Good tension, but it is a little too tall for my lats to like it. As far as color, I liked it quite a bit more in person than I do online. The pink is very bright, which is not my thing, but the blue gray trim tones it down and I liked it.
Thought the lining was neon yellow, but it's more lemon-lime. The band starts out tight, but I'm pretty sure it'll stretch to perfect. The cups are odd. The wide wires seem to reach under my armpits, the top lies flush except for the center, and since the gore is too wide, my breasts are flattened where the cups expect fullness. I think I may need to go down to a 28DD.
I love the color!
