    Didn't fit

My shape: mid-height front-facing teardrop-profile (ski jump with no "jump") with tall shallow roots, low apex, lots of immediate projection underneath but moderate overall projection, wide roots with lots of side fullness and shallow tails that wrap all the way to the shoulder blade, extremely close-set center tissue (possibly a trace of natural symmastia), and very firm self-supporting tissue that when pushed out of shape will push right back.

This bra was one of 5 Panache Jasmines I bought to try from Nordstrom. I also tried a 30FF in black, a 30FF in nude, a 30F in nude, and a 30FF in navy houndstooth.

No Jasmines for me, it seems. ... There are just too many issues. The cups, while a closer fit than the 30FF - Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) in nude, are a bit looser than the 30F - Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) in black, and have more of the same issues with the top panel being stretchy and accommodating on my upper root but too full and closing too quickly; the apex being too high; not enough immediate depth at the wire all the way around; and a pointy shape. The gore has an unusual flared shape that mimics my natural IMF, but that doesn't stop it from being too tall and too wide and stabby. The wires are slightly narrower, and combined with the slightly-shorter wings than the 30FF, they start to poke into the tissue there. The straps are also still too far apart, and while not AS far, still enough to cause problems.

The 30 band is perfect on the loosest hook, though (snug 72/BTT 66.5 cm today).

    The good:

30 band on the loosest hook fits great (snug 72/BTT 66.5 cm today). Wings are tall and wires are wide enough, keeping my root tails snug, although they might be too high for very-sensitive people. The gore is also an unusual shape and flares out a lot toward the bottom, mirroring my own IMF surprisingly closely. The cups seem slightly smaller than the nude version in this size.

    The bad:

The gore, in spite of its convenient shape, is tall and stabby. The straps are way too far apart and cut in, and they aren't even wide enough to be pleasant and comfy to make up for it. The cups are ALL wrong, too, with too much overall projection, not enough immediate projection at the base of the cup or the gore, too high at the apex, and the top panel is too roomy and closes too soon. I can't tell if they're a size to large or not.

    Nope.

  3. I picked this up on sale after realizing I no longer fit the bras I currently own. I think I'm somewhere between a 36FF and a 36G and am also between band sizes. 38 bands tend to slide up on me, but the 36 bands feel a little snugger than I'd like. The material is softer than another pattern I tried in the Jasmine style, but still a little scratchy. I find the wire a little wide and the gore a little too high for my preference, but it is still wearable. I wish the lace was a little tighter as my tissue isn't as firm as it used to be but the fabric part is definitely supportive. So far balconnets seem to work best for me as I don't always fill the top of the cup in other styles. I am struggling to find bras other than balconnets that work for me, but am not sure what to look for. I am interested to see how well this bra breaks in and if the comfort will improve.

Panache uses a lot of starch on their bras, you will have to wash it a few times for it to soften up.

    • 1

I have the same problem with not filling the top of the cups. This looks nice on you. Thanks for the review!

Beautiful! Hope the scratchiness dissipates....SOON ;-)

The gravity-defying powers of this bra are amazing! Once I'm all strapped in the girls are like, "Well, HELLO!" Right up there, front and center. The secret is the cups: double layer of stiff mesh on bottom and sides, stretch lace on top. I get a very youthful uplifted shape with just a hint of a point, evenly full top and bottom.

The tradeoff of course is comfort. It doesn't hurt anywhere but the fit is quite firm. You wouldn't forget you're wearing it. The cup mesh and power mesh back are slightly scratchy. Straps are thin and have very little stretch. They're also wide-set so they cut in at the fronts of my arms a bit.

The perfect time to wear this is when you need to look your best and comfort is not a big concern.

This bra is the perfect shape and would be my forever bra if the gore was just a cm or two shorter. The band provides enough support and the cups tack beautifully on top. My only issue is that the gore can dig in a bit if I am too active.

I have started replacing wires because gores are almost always too tall. And, if you have plumbing cutters, you can trim the existing wire shorter and use plastidip to seal the ends. So many alterations ;-)

Me: Narrow roots, narrow shoulders, evenly round, lots of immediate projection, very soft tissue, slightly FoB, slightly centre full, splayed, never met a gore I didn't like, left-heavey by more than a cup size, 31" underbust, but prefer tight band with extender. Panache, Freya size 30GG

So, as expected, too wide and shallow. I thought I would try Jasmine, having heard such good things. But it is a fairly close fit, so I won't discredit most of the reviews, just place it in a relative position. Narrower and more immediately projected than the rest of Panache, but not compared to my bust!

Cups are a little too wide and straps set slightly too far apart. I get some quading at my centre fullness, and the appex is too shallow - like a half cup. So, not enough immediate projection and a bit of an upsidedown seven shape.

Material is a bit stiff and the stretch lace top part is a bit too stretchy. Straps are narrower, only half adjustable, but scalloped. No side boning, but three hooks.

I've only worn this bra once or twice since I bought it, but I do like it. I bought it at Secrets From Your Sister in Toronto, Ontario because it was on clearance, and therefore 50% off. It has a good firm band; the wires are a touch on the wide side for me, but it doesn't really bother me; the straps are a little wide set, but again it doesn't bother me too much; it gives a pointy shape due to the stiff laminated material of the bottom half (so I'll be wearing this with thicker sweaters or when I'm intentionally going for a pointy look); the ... stretch lace top is comfortable, but probably contributes to the pointy look; it's super projected (so I had to size down one cup); on a scale of 1-10 has a 6 or 7 in immediate projection at the wire (as far as I can tell); and the gore tacks on me, although I can see it being too wide for some people. It's definitely not the cutest bra ever, as I don't normally go for animal prints, but it's usually hidden anyway so whatever.

OK. This cut really does work for me! It pulls me in at the sides, so I don't look as "wide" up top when I put on my shirts. My only issue with this bra is how far apart the straps are. I didn't have this problem with the Sculptresse Chi Chi (which I've been advised us based on this bra). It's also not as soft as the Chi Chi. Other than that, this bra is great for me and I'm a happy customer! Can anyone suggest similar styles in other brands (like Freya) so I can keep an eye out and build my bra collection?

I feel like Sculptresse by Panache is the most luxurious, comfortable, and well-designed of the Panache family except for perhaps Sport. Glad it worked for you!

    Hasn't set fit

This bra came closest to fitting, but the wires are very hard/stiff, and the center wires hit very painfully. I think I have a dent at the clavicle, nothing serious, but the wire hits above it regardless of bending and so forth. OUCH.
After this I tried the Panache wired sports bras and they are much more comfortable. The fit is not as perfect (and I went to slightly other sizes based on availability)- gore floats a litte depending on size- but holds me up where I should be and does not hurt. I may have to think about this as pectus excavatum I guess? Try plunges or whatnot? IT is hard in this size. I am really eager to figure out what else I could try.

    • You already tried bending the Gore out correct ? How about trying the bra on the bra on with an extender ? Not the full extension but one or two hooks out giving you an extra half inch or so to feel if it's not pulling the center as tight to you body .

    • Well, Ewa Michalak would be my next stop . . .

    • 1

Ivp - yup- but no, the band cannot go looser. This isn't about where the wires sit width-wise but how tall they are. They are too tall in my cup size. I played around a lot with sizes (even extenders). If a hard wire hits me in the sternum, it hurts.

    • dbmamaz my thinking more and more, too. Overwhelmed by what style etc and finding/ordering just now.

    • yeah, its quite an adjustment, getting your head around them.

In general for me, I tend to go up a band size (because i've had 2 bands from her that were a full band size too small), but sister-sizing that if you are ordering an unlined bra (like BM or SM) but going up a cup (which means really up a band but same cup letter) for the lined - S is the only lined I've worn - because the lining takes up space.

I was wearing a 32J in panache when I came here, and now have a 32JJ jasmine that i'm pretty happy with (high gores are good for me), feel free to look around my bras to see if that helps any

    • Yeah, Panache uses wires in a gauge like 8x stiffer than any other brand. But the sport is wrapped in silicone. Every J cup wire should be wrapped in silicone! lol

If you NEED the panache stiff wire, after bending you can pad it with felt (or have this done). If you don't need the wire but do need the shape/other aspects of panache fit, you can do some research and change out the wires. The 30JJ has about a size 54 wire.

    • I have pulled out a panache 30jj under wire it's a 52 vertical that was the closest you can buy retail ,bra makers supply has a chart that it matched up to as I didn't want panache wires lol I went with flexible wires . I personally bought these flexible underwires from bravo bella bra supplyhttp://bravobellabras.com/products/underwires?variant=1165284588
They are very comfortable , flexible pretty narrow , and easy to replace your uncomfortable underwires with them . I found them too flexible for my bust and had to double up to get support I need you might be different . It's a good way to salvage a bra that works in all but this way . Oh these wire are so flexible they only soft tack and you can take of the end cap cut with a wire cutter and put the cap back on if you need the wire to be shorter . It's an option for a fix .
My issue is I get pain at the Gore because I have just a bit of connection of skin/breast right there it either needs to soft tack or be a bit lower or sometimes higher . That's why I asked how it felt with an extender to see if it feels better with a soft tack or if you just plain need a lower Gore that would help you decide which ewa michalak style you wanted to try .. I think her s is the same height maybe a plunge is lower.

    • i climb out of S but not of Jasmine so I think its lower.

Yeah - my 32JJ jasmine has a gore height of 4.7, and my 75JJ S has a gore height of 4.
