This is the Playtex 4717 Elegant Uplift and Support model. IIt wasn't listed in the model menu and I couldn't figure out how to add it. It is sturdy and snug. The band is a little tighter than I like, and the cups a tiny bit large, but it is the closest I could come to the size I need. The bra is smooth satin with a very pretty lace on the top edge. If it fit a little better it might be my favorite.
The good: Comfortable smooth material, and the straps are not very wide set. They hit the top of the cup close to the center of each cup, which provides a little more stability (in my opinion) than bras with wide-set straps. It has a molded cup, which prevents any possible nipple poke-through and keeps me from looking too pointy (nice round shape) - that's tough to find in large bras. I'm a 38G, and this 38DDD provides good (but not excellent) support - the only issue is that the center gore doesn't quite tack properly. So I'd say the cups run a bit big compared to other brands (or even other Playtex bras).
The bad: The band stretches out quickly (I've had several of this same bra and they all did), and the underwire itself is about 1/2" too short for its channel, so it tends to slide back and forth within the channel. When it ends up too far toward the underarm side, it pokes my arm, as the bra comes up quite high in the underarm.
The reason I used to like this bra better than some of my other 38C's is because it has 3 hooks in the back instead of only 2. Plus the black lacy cups are pretty and feminine. It really is way too small for me now.
This bra doesn't fit me at all, I bought it secondhand while looking for something to get by. The bad is much too big and the cups small. it's very blah looking, white cotton with a white lace overlay, with thick straps. The wires won't go up all the way into the gore so it folds down and won't tack. However, all the said, it is comfy! If I wanted a sleep bra, this would probably be it. The cotton is nice and soft and great when I'm sweaty, and the straps are very comfortable and squishy, though not very adjustable.
The bra is very full coverage. The cups cut quite high up the chest so you have to be careful with your shirt's neckline, and so this bra is for folks with boobs that are full all over/rounded and not just wide at the base. Overall it's very comfortable, no seams that poke, the fabric is sturdy and hasn't stretched out. The cups are quite thick, there's a layer of some thicker fabric encased in the black sateen.
(this is the first bra i've bought that wasn't majorly too small in the cups!)
This bra looks a bit grandmotherly, but it supports really well and promotes a classic feminine silhouette, but can be too 'pointy' for some. Given my shape, the gore doesn't tack, just hovers. This bra is not padded, so wearing tight, thin or flat color shirts may not be a good idea. The cups on this bra are full, so they have a minimizing effect and real harnessing abilities. If the bra is a cup size too small: they will produce mini-quad boobies--avoid these please and accept the larger size.
There is no under-wire, yet it holds it's shape well over time and through weekly machine washes, (air dry overnight). After 6 months of rigorous use, there isn't much deterioration of the bra's structure, but the color may change. If using harsh detergents, or drying in the dryer: the elastic woven into the wings may rubberize, become sticky and crumble.
Several of my bras of about 1.5 years are at this stage. The ones that maintain the lift and support I wear these to sleep or exercise.
This bra is a molded t-shirt bra. Not my favorite kind of bra .Although it did seem to fit my breasts well in the cups, but not full-coverage enough for my liking.
I have 2 of these bras, one beige and the other a print. Cups have light lining and whole bra fabric feels nice, kind of satiny. The band is slightly looser than I like and cups aren't quite deep enough (or just wrong shape) and gap somewhat at the tops- I guess they're too high. The wires seem short or maybe narrow, they tend to press into my breast tissue at the sides under my arms. It's wearable but would prefer a bra that stays in place better.
I tried this bra(40D) on in Kohls where I bought it and it seemed to feel fine but when I put it on at home it felt just a little tight on the loosest hooks. So I decided to use a bra extender and it works ok.Other than that it is a very comfortable bra.The best thing is I spent less than $10 on it out of the clearance rack at Kohls in Escondido California where I live. It also seems to be a pretty well made bra. I guess with it being a bit tight is kind of good giving me more stretching room therefore it may last me longer. It is a nude colored, bandless ,underwire, with full lacy cups and wide padded cushion straps.
Everything about this bra sucks. It's sized off by about 2 cup sizes. It's ugly. The cup is so tall it practically extends to my shoulder. I'm sending it right back.
This isn't a horrible bra, but I realized after buying and wearing it that the cups are too small and the material is stiff and painful against my skin. I like the thicker cups it has and the supported feel, but it is pretty uncomfortable otherwise. If they made the bra in a larger cup size and softer material, I'd try it again. I bought one in black and one in nude and they both sit mostly unused.
