I have shallow boobs with a wide root, and this bra unfortunately did not work for my shape, which is too bad since I love the idea of a strapless longline.
It has one vertical seam intersecting a horizontal seam, and so far the only bras that fit me have 2 vertical seams only. It was too closed on top for me, giving me a pointy "beak" shape along the horizontal seam.
It has a pretty firm band for a 30 (I should be wearing a 28, if possible), with 5 hooks per column, 3 columns. There is boning on the sides, and the straps are easily removable.
Both the top of the cup and the part where the fabric changes cut into the breast tissue. I was able to fasten the band but felt like it could break at any moment, as it was extremely tight. The underwire digs into my sternum and into my chest under my breasts which is very painful.
The bra itself is very pretty but probably more suited for someone with low nipples as the lower darker part of the cup did not cover mine.
Pretty! Did not realize when I ordered it that it is a push-up. Padding is not removable https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I got it in grey/black. The straps are gray satin in the front and black elastic in the back. I love the look of it but it is just too foamy and unnatural looking to keep.
Band had very little stretch, could hardly get it to stretch to 30. Too tight and flattened my breasts out. Have an extender on the way so I can try that, as 32s are usually too big for me.
This bra did not even come close to fitting me. The band was a bit loose, and the cups were WAY too big on top. Everything about this bra was also very stretchy, and wouldn't stay in place. Even though the cups were too big, the gore wouldn't tack. When I gently pulled at the center front of the bra, it pulled at least 3-4 inches away from my body. This bra is so stretchy throughout, even if it fit properly I can't imagine it would give good support.
This bra is pretty but the cups are very, very sheer. I don't mind, but other people might.
I find it's a tiny bit loose at the top of the cup, but not enough that it's visible.
I do want to note that it is absolutely not a plunge. It's a balconette. I have no idea why Pour Moi calls it a plunge, the gore is waaaaaaaay too tall for a plunge.
This bra fit me just about perfectly, and I like the shape it gives with a shirt on. It holds my breasts up to a really great level, but still has a natural shape to it.
However, I don't know if I'll be keeping it. For starters, it feels cheap. It smells like plastic, too, which is simply odd to me. Granted, I bought it because it was so cheap, but after a life of bras with a suggested price of at least $50 Stateside, my tastes have become expensive. (I have sensitive skin, too, so take that as you will.)
Before my body has eased into it, which takes about 2 minutes, I can feel the wires touch my armpits, as though they're ever-so-slightly too high, and am very aware of the tightness of the band, which is comparable to the band of my 32G - Miss Mandalay ยป Paige. After two minutes, all that fades, but the bra's overall effect is still leaving me on the fence.
This bikini is gorgeous! I don't like tie backs because it's hard to tie them perfectly tight, but since I had to order a sister size, the tie back works in my favor. I usually wear a 30H-J so the cups were small on me, but not as small as I expected https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Since this is a bikini, I don't mind the lack of coverage like I would in a bra. I love the shape of the cups, they are the perfect depth for my full-on-top breasts. The cups are a little wide on me as they are for a 34 ...band.
The center gore is too wide for my extremely close-set breasts, so I will take it in and see how it looks. The back ties are positioned above the bottoms of the cups which is a strange design choice. Taking in the gore might make the ties position a little lower https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />. I can't tie the tie tight enough on my ribcage, so my breasts sort of slip under the band a bit, but I'm hoping that taking in the gore will make the underwire hold my breasts up easier. I will update my review after altering the gore. Overall, I would recommend this bikini because it's comfortable and comes in so many stunning colors! I have the cobalt blue top, but I am tempted to buy it in a few more colors.
Update: Taking in the gore made the gore too high and the wires too short on the sides, so side boob escaped. Took the stitches out. I put a clasp in the back to magically turn this top into a 30GG-ish bikini. Read more 206 more words
The gel padding is located on the outer sides and bottom of the bra. I am a bit full on the sides, so it is a little uncomfortable to have padding there, but it does create some cleavage.
The thing I like most about this bra is how good it looks. The stitching is absolutely gorgeous, but would show through a thin stretchy T-shirt.
When I first took this bra out of the box, I was dubious. The lace feels very rough and so does the fabric on the band. Considering I have sensitive skin, I thought it would be super uncomfortable.
Surprisingly, the bra is actually sturdy and comfortable. The lace is not soft, but not at all scratchy or bothersome, and it looks great.
Sadly, this bra does not fit me correctly. It feels fine when I first put it on, but since the band and cup are both a little too big for me, it quickly shifts downwards, causing the underwire to rub against my sternum.
Like most lace bras, the fabric of this one is visible under any thin shirt, which gives me few opportunities to wear it.
As you can see in my picture, some of the lace underneath the underwire has a tendency to roll up, which can be easily fixed, but it's a minor annoyance.
Definitely too small in the cup and too large in the band for me, but still gives great cleavage thanks to padding in the cups. If you're looking for some va va voom in a small band/large cup, this is it! The fabric texture does show through very thin shirts/dresses.
I wanted to love this bra. It's very pretty and comfortable. However, I think this is more suited for girls with full on bottom breasts, and mine are full on top. It just didn't look good on me at all.
It didn't poke me at all, and the band felt quite snug and comfortable. Even the cups didn't feel bad, but I had wrinkling at the bottom and it gave me a torpedo shape which I did not like.
The straps are fully adjustable, which is a plus. It also has a very cute lace and ribbon detail across the top of the cup.
It seems like it would give good support. I sadly had to send it back.
I don't much use unpadded bras for fear of pointiness. Gladly Essence makes me round. 30" fits snug on it's tightest, so would appreciate 28". Does not really support much, but keeps my breasts in place. Good leisure wear.
The cups are a bit small for me so I would suggest to go up a size. As G is the largest cup, I would have to get a 36G, probably. A larger band won't be a problem since it ties back so you can make it the size you want.
I agree with other reviews that the straps to tie the band are a bit short and hard to tie hard enough to hold the top up correctly. However, I really like this top so I just added a bikini clasp inside the band. The tie is now only for decoration and I get good support.
The material is shiny but doesn't look cheap. It's very pretty and the way the fabric folds is very nice. It gives a very nice cleavage without smooshing your boobs together and without looking vulgar.
Highly recommended if you can find your size and don't mind the tiny alteration.
I bought this Bra for a friend who measures 38FF. The cups were very large on her and did not fit at all, while the gore didn't tack. I believe it's too wide and deep for her and completely the wrong shape.
This bra is pretty deep with wide wides, it's nice and smooth and the detailing at the gore is very soft.
I think this runs small - 34 band only stretches to 31". Fits more like a 32 band. Cups run true to size. It doesn't fit me because it is so far off from my correct size - I get major quadboob and the gore doesn't lie flat.
This bra has an enormous amount of padding and pushup (that was not advertised). I fit somewhere between a 30E/F and the 30F was still too small because of the padding, which gave me quadboob. The band is also really tight and uncomfortable on me, but this could be because the cups are too small. The underwire tends to dig in underneath. It's a really pretty and sturdy bra but unfortunately the cups and band are too small for me. I think this is probably more like a 28F.
A few months back when I actually fit into the cups of this bra, it was my favorite. With soft, heavy on bottom breasts, I definitely loved the extra padding; my usual trouble with filling out the top of the cup was negated. And the embroidery? Gorgeous! I don't wear super thin material shirts, but I never had issues with the embroidery showing through. The bra gave me a nice, round shape and some great lift.
The downsides to this bra are in the band and the amount of padding. It's definitely a stretchy band, and wile I find that fairly comfortable, it isn't the most firm 30 band out there and can shift around a bit. The padding, while putting me in all the right places, makes the bra less breathable. In the hot, humid climate where I live, I'm not sure a full day out in this thing would go too well.
If you don't mind me asking, did you sell this suit? I'm looking for one. Thank you.
