This is the second time I've bought this bra. My first was 40H - Sculptresse ยป Chi-chi Full Cup Bra (7695). I loved the band so much I really wanted to try it again. It still doesn't fit a size up. I think the shape is just off for me. Because the sides are wide but press me towards the center I get this strange flat side. My breasts are then funneled into this squarish box on the bottom and spill into the stretch lace at the top. It could be I need to size up but I think the bottom has too much lift and not enough space, so a shape issue. Still, I may try it in a 42HH to see if I can get more bottom space. Honestly, I just like be the band so much. If I could get only bras with this band I would be happy.
I LOVE THIS BRA!!! Too bad the cups are too small. It was purchased for an event to wear under a dress with a sheer v-neck - PERFECT for that! Unfortunately, there is a slight quad boob under round-neck tops. Sadly, when I realized this and called my local store to reserve a 36HH, I was told that there is no HH for bands below 38" in this range. Such a pity, because if I could get the perfect fit in the cups, this would be my favourite bra!!
The Chi Chi is a full figure version of the Panache Jasmine so you could try the Jasmine in a 36HH and see how it fits.
Oh, also try the Curvy Kate Ellace (CK4401) , it's really soft and comfy with a stretch lace top and comes in black as well as latte and white.
cupandahalf thanks again!! I will definitely look for these 2 when I go shopping! I know I loved the Jasmine way back when I was a G cup, so that must be why the Chi Chi felt so right! I haven't seen that Curvy Kate bra - excited to check it out! ๐
cupandahalf I just bought a Jasmine! LOVE, thank you!
PROs - * It actually fits and is quite comfortable * My breasts are supported by the band and wires rather than being held up by the straps. * My two friends feel completely supported and stay put without either feeling constrained or bouncing around. * The cup shape and placement mimics my natural shape and looks great under a shirt. * It's not only functional. I think it's sexy. * The price was quite reasonable for such a well fitting foundation garment. ($49.00 via Amazon seller A Sophisticated Pair)
CONs - * Limited selection in a 38G. I wish it were available in more color options.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the look at fit of this bra. I have ordered a second one in the Cherry Spot fabric.
This does not fit like the Kitty bra I own in the same size. The cups are a different cut with two panels on the bottom, a side support on the edge, and a stretch lace top. The back band is a soft silky material the same as the cups of my @Sculptresse Pure rather than a power mesh. The cups are a very firm nylon. It's not scratchy but it is pretty durable feeling. The lace is soft and does not cut in. The straps are a thick padded material and only the back is stretchy and adjustable. Like the rest of the Sculptresse line, this "nude" is not a nude for me but would be perfect on a woman with a medium skin tone. I can't comment on the shape as it is not in my size and there is quadding in the cup as well as out of the cup. I also have some sort of crazy boxy shape I can't figure out. When I size up I will see about the shape.
Technically this bra is one cup size too small but it's the only one that I love and which fits my breasts comfortably. It's soft, silky, and light and cool in the summer. It gives a high, compact, rounded breast which is almost minimized in projection, but the breasts aren't pushed back into the armpit. Rather they are raised and lifted so they form a nice oval. The straps were horrible (narrow, nonstretch) for me so I put wide elastic ones on instead. If Sculptresse would make them in a cup size or two larger I would only buy these bras for everyday use.
This bra is great, it was my favourite for a long time. 36J fitted me when I was a 32K-KK. The band on the Bellise does run at least 1 - 1 and a half sizes smaller! The cups are generous. So a 36J fits more like a 34JJ or a 32K on the tightest setting.
pros: - strong Panache wires, that are less wide than Elomi wires - tight bands (a plus for those at the upper end of the cup - range) - the fabric is so heavenly comfortable and soft - sturdy and good support - I have barely any underwire pain - round uplifted shape - quite front and centered shape - ...wires are a very good width for me (I need medium wide wires - EM is usually too narrow, Elomi too wide)
cons: - why is this bra discountined? - why does it not come in all the colours up to a KK cup? - shallow cups
Now the shallowness of the cups is the only real problem here. But it also makes the bra very supportive because it keeps boobs close to chest. Since I have rather deep boobs, I only can wear this bra on "smaller days" when I can stand some shallower cups. I still think it has good projection from the underwire, I don't have as much empty space there than in a Elomi Caitlyn.
If you wonder about some of my pics showing that the bra is a bit big... there was a time when I was a 30K/ 32JJ - the bra was too big in the band and cups then. Just if anyone wonders why pics show the bra being too big. I owned this bra for about 2 and a half year now. It's still in good condition despite many wears! Great Quality I say! It is very pretty, and I wish it fit.But I get terrible quadboob https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> For some reason convinced myself that this would run large in the cups...but it does not. I think it is probably true to size or a bit small; not really sure because I have not tried many other G cups bras. As a heads up, it only has two hook closures in this size.
Update: I recently was able to try this in a 36GG. The fit was a bit better, but I still had fit issues;it wasn't quadboob, but more like....denting? caused by the tight trim. This bra is very supportive though and I would say it is a true full cup. This size had 3 hooks. I think this would be great for full on bottom ladies, but if you are full on top you will probably want to size up a cup or two, or maybe just avoid this style.
Hi, did you find it to run smaller in the cups compared to other Sculptresse bras or compared to just any bra? I usually found Sculptresse bras to fit 1 cup bigger and 1 band size smaller compared to Panache or other brands. I tried the Bellise and Willow.
Hi alisa, I haven't tried any other Sculptresse bras, so I cannot compare. The only other 36G I have tried is Lucy Cleo, and this bra seemed to cut in more than Lucy, but that may have just been the cut of the bra. It may have seemed smaller to me because I have somewhat FOT boobs and the cups of this bra have firm trim at the top
This bra does not fit me anymore, it used fit me when I was a size 32JJ. The band on this bra runs quite small, I could get away with a 36 band (tightest hook though) even though I usually wear a 32 band. It's a full cup but it wasn't too high coverage on me.
The wires are comparable to Panache wires, slightly on the wider side but not as wide as on Elomi bras. I found them to be quite moderate height so I did not have any poking under my arms - but I am used to JJ and K-cup wires which are usually taller than HH-cup wires.
The shape was quite round but not too uplifted. The material is very soft and smooth. I found the shoulder straps to be quite thin and they cut into my shoulders often.
The lace on this bra is pretty scratchy. Sensory issues beware. The back of the band, however, very comfortable. It's a double-bagged band. The "structured" lining Sculptresse used on the inside of the cup just doesn't do its job. The straps are too wide for me and the wires are too wide/tall. The immediate projection at the bottom of the cup is ok, but not enough for me. The size is completely off for me. Definitely a shape mismatch. I'm gonna have to go Polish. I need wires that are much shorter and narrower, more projection and shorter gores. These bras simultaneously gape at the top of the cups, but my tissue is also folding over on the sides. Not comfy. The gore also tries to do a lot. I'm not sure what it's trying to do, but it's a lot. Seems really silly. Just be normal.
The lining on this bra is not comfortable. Sensory issues beware. The back of the band, however, very comfortable, it's a double-bagged band. I understand Sculptresse wanted to use structured lining inside the cups to help hold everything up, but I couldn't wait to get the thing off. The straps are too wide for me and the wires are too wide/tall. The immediate projection at the bottom of the cup is ok. I'm gonna have to go Polish. This is getting ridiculous. Maybe I just need to make my own bra at this point.
This bra is a fit mismatch for me. The wires are too wide and come up too high for my shape. I have short/high narrow roots. It seems close, but because the wires are so high, the underwire keeps getting pushed below my IMF. The fabric is very pretty. I'm not sure how well the stretch lace at the top of the cup would wear, however. It seems similar to the stretch lace that the Elomi Kim Plunge Bra (4340) uses. That one has mediocre aging. They should just replace this lace with the stretch fabric from the Panache Serene, since it's the same parent company. The band on this is double bagged, so it's comfortable. The band feels a bit snug, however. That seems to happen with Panache/Sculptresse bands. I have a feeling the band would end up suffocating me as the day wore on.
This bra is quite comfortable, especially for people with sensory issues or sensitive skin. The band is very stretchy and soft. My only real issue with it is that the gore sometimes irritates my breasts, as I am quite center full. This has gotten more comfortable over time wearing the bra.
Nice fabric, good construction, sturdy. I wish the top lace had a little elastic bit, I've only tried on a few bras that didn't but without it my boobs seem to have a lot more freedom to escape the bra and fall out toward the middle of the cup. Definitely had wrinkling above the wire but where my boobs ended up did have a lot of projection, I just need that projection lower.
Okay so this is my comment and measurements I added for the bra. I was looking at the specs for my best fitting bra from this round and this one is on the list of similar measurements so I pull it up and sure enough many of the measurements match exactly! Which is crazy because the fit for this one was so much worse than the other! Just interesting and I wanted to note this for others and probably myself in the future.
Painful for me but I have to say it give a very nice shape. Quality fabric and design. Frills on straps hurt and armpit area of cups digs in more than my other bras do. Definitely not my size but pretty cute overall.
This bra is a great style for me in terms of the cups fitting and my FOB, short root, different sized boobs looking great, but it is not comfortable. I first tried a 40F (generally my usual size) and it was WAY too tight, I felt like I couldn't breathe. So I sister sized into this 42E but it still doesn't work. Now the band is clearly too large (gapping at the wings, sliding) but the wire is still extremely firm and digs into my sensitive side. I think I just can't tolerate the firm wires and tight bands of Panache/Sculptress in my proper size, especially since I have medical issues that make me sensitive there.
Goodness this pushes me up and out! Very supportive, the side panel continues to win me over. This bra has a much more narrow cup than other Panache in similar size which is good for me. However, the center gore in uncomfortable because of how close-set my boobs are. Probably won't keep because of the core uncomfort.
Totally unsure why this bra doesn't fit me very well...on paper and wrt the measurements, it should be perfect, but it's not! I have a lot of spillage out of the sides and armpit area, and the band feels really tight. Unsure if it's worth trying the 40FF or not.
The Chi Chi is a full figure version of the Panache Jasmine so you could try the Jasmine in a 36HH and see how it fits.
