One of my favorite bras, even though it's "just" a sports bra.
I usually wear a 30E, which would be waay too tight in this style for me. 32DD fits very well. I have the B4490 in white. It stops all movement, which makes it very comfortable not just for running around and stuff, but also for moments in which I have problems with hurting breasts (in some parts of my cycle). I can't wear it for an entire day though, it would be too tight, but I don't have to wear a sports bra all day, so that's fine. It's sort of odd to close it at first (due to the racerback), but I got used to it very fast. It's machine washable (40°C) and didn't stretch out.
The only thing that sort of bothers me is the shape, it doesn't do much and mostly flattens my breasts.
I bought a 32GG when I was in the process of loosing weight and it was great when I bought it but it's now to big for me. Usually I wear a 28GG or 30G in most styles now. That said, I can still get away with the 32GG. It's on the tightest hook and there's a bit of extra fabric under my breasts and the cup digs in a bit under my arms but the bra still provides lots of support. The band doesn't move at all while running.
Unlike a bra with underwires (I also run in the Panache Sports ...Bra) this one doesn't really try to separate your boobs at your sternum - it try to keep them pointing straight ahead but that's it.
I find the straps are really comfortable and padded without feeling awkward or stiff. There is movement and bounce when I run but it feels natural - just a bit of movement at the root of my breasts near my ribcage - it doesn't bother me at all.
I love this bra for running and would recommend it immediately. Unfortunately because no fabric separates your breasts at the center I wouldn't enjoy wearing this bra out on a regular day in Australia - the sweat would be irritating and bothersome. I also wouldn't enjoy staying in the bra while my body cools down after a run - meeting someone for coffee while still in my training gear and this bra would be unpleasant!
But for the actual running bit - it's a dream. Just come straight home and shower off immediately!
*Update* I just bought this bra in my current size (30G) and find that it's a much better fit. The cups are a little high and deep at the sides and dig in just a bit towards my underarms. The center gore doesn't sit flat against my ribs - it's not designed to - but it's actually closer I think to my chest than the 32GG.
I've also found a good fit in the Bravissimo Inspire underwired sports bra but I would still reach for this Shock Absorber no-wires sports bra first when I go running. Love it. Read more 260 more words
I bought this bra a few weeks ago, and ran in it 5 times. I've just started running, so I didn't put many miles on it, but it did seem to control nearly all bounce. The shoulder straps were the deal breaker for me; they put too much pressure on my traps. The band also runs extremely tight. I measure 28.5 inches around, and I hooked the bra on the loosest set of hooks, and it was pretty darn tight. I bought the bra from a store with a generous one year return policy, so I took advantage and returned it. The bra has no modesty padding, so be aware you might have high beams in cool weather. I recommend trying this bra if you run or horseback ride, if you can handle the T-back style, but suggest going up a band size. I don't have the bra to measure anymore, but I believe the size 32 measured around 26 inches unstretched.
Note: Obviously it is difficult to "measure" without separate cups so several fields are left blank. I hope the other measurements can help!
Tried this on in a boutique and they only had 30GG which is normally far too large a cup for me but this was perfect. It leads me to believe it may run small instead of being "accommodating" as it needs to be the perfect size.. and it IS!
I have bought this bra in the white colorway in 2016 in 30DD and it has been quite worn-out. So I have been looking for a replacement, this time in the black colorway to wear under black clothes for modern jazz dance. The 30DD was nowhere to be found because it is an old bra but I have found the 32D on sales on a UK site so I decided to go for it considering the fact that since 2016 I have put on some weight. The band is snugger than in my worn-out 30DD white bra so it is quite nice. It looks good under black clothes so I am satisfied.
A kind soul from Reddit gifted me this bra so I can finally do cardio without pain, and it worked. I highly recommend it for running, jumping rope, and any other high impact activities. It is pretty thin, but it keeps everything from moving.
Bought this for medium-high impact activities during pregnancy. I’ve been wearing mostly 30FF, but they’re starting to get tight in both the bands and cups. My UK size at the moment is probably between 32F and FF.
Knowing that this brand runs really tight in the band, I sized all the way up to 36, but that doesn’t seem to have been necessary in this model. 34DD might have been better as it’s a little wrinkly on top. I got good support from it still, though, and there’s room to grow into it now.
The cups have a kind of support sling on the inside. I don’t get much compression from this bra, which I prefer, but that could be because of the cups are slightly large.
Overall it does its job well and is comfortable. I’ll call it a success.
I bought this sport bra second hand in my sister size (36G) instead of my actual size (34GG). It is a unwired compressive sport bra. The band fits correctly but as the cups are small for me, I have a little of quadboobs in my cleavage. Neverthless this is a great high impact sport bra that reduces a lot of the bouncing of my breast. I wore it twice during a mountain hiking for a 6 hours period each time & the bra was comfortable to wear & didn't give me any pain.
I made a mistake when ordering this bra. It wasn't available neither in my size (UK34GG) nor in my sister size (UK36G) so I bought it in UK34G. The cup & band are too smaal, I can't wear this bra! This is purely my fault! The double rank of hook at the back is still not really practical to fasten it easily.
I received this sport's bra as a gift almost 10 years ago. It was already the wrong cup size as the store didn't carry my size. Nevertheless, this sport bra is top quality as my breast didn't bounce during high impact activities (running, zumba classes) & as it lasted 10 years with machine washing & air drying! I only discarded this bra as with times my cup size growed & I have quad-boob effect when wearing it!
This sport bra is a compressive style one so it isn't comfortable wearing to lounge around! But I bought the same bra in my size thanks to the Internet!
This bra was love at first try. It fits wonderfully, like a snug hug, keeps everything in place. I went for a run shortly after buying it and it was the most comfortable I felt in ages, bounce was minimal and I could breathe and move freely. I'm glad I followed the advice in other reviews to size up in the band - the 32 band fits me perfectly but I usually wear 30 bands. If I had gotten a 30 band it would have been hard to breathe. I have soft breast tissue so the compression kind of flattens me out, but I like how comfortable it is. The bra has a sling like structure inside in non-stretchy fabric. There is also a seamed wireless cup on the inside, made from the same non-stretchy fabric. These both help give the support and compression needed. Bonus, this "mellow blue" color (it's actually coral pink and light pink combined with dark blue) looks much better in person than it did on the website.
I got two of these (this one and the gray one) for wearing in Jiu jitsu after one of my bras didn't provide nearly enough support. The bands on this style run small. I'm normally a 28D/30C, and I needed a 32C. Otherwise it's got really great support!
I bought this to wear for jiu-jitsu because the style they recommended for martial arts doesn't come in my size. The band for this style runs small; I normally wear a 30V but needed a 32C for a proper fit. Otherwise it's a good, supportive bra for working out in.
During my journey to find a bra that fits, I also decided to find a sports bra that fits. I decided to compare the top 3 companies for sports bras recommended on r/ABraThatFits: Panache, Freya, and Shock Absorber. My main goal was to find a sports bra suitable for running. For reference, I'm projected, FOB, center full, narrow roots, petite (4'11"), and normal bra size UK 28F.
I sized up in the band after reading other reviews, and I really should have sized up in the cup too. The cups were way too small and flattened my breasts into an ugly shape. The bra also cut into the sides ...of my armpits in a suffocating way.
The material was very thin and didn't fully conceal the outline of my nipples. I also felt the quality of the material was not as good compared to Freya and Panache.
It did pass my jog-in-place/jump tests though. My boobs were not going anywhere in that thing though that may also be because it was too small. In the end, I didn't think it was worth it to try sizing up to 30F. After comparing to the Freya and Panache bras, I very much prefer encapsulation sports bras compared to compression.
I received this bra along with a different Shock Absorber in 34E. Funny story, I got them mixed up at first and thought this one was the 34E. Wore it all day and it was _painful_ by the end. I was thinking it had to be the smallest 34 band in existence until I looked at the label and saw it was actually the DD cup. I’m probably between a 30F and FF right now, so I guess the 34DD, a sister size of 30F, is just too small. The 34E Shock Absorber, which is a zipper front, fits much more comfortably. I’m going to measure them soon and will update this when I do.
Update- I was wrong again - the cups are fine; the band really is just that tight. I got 32 inches with a very hard pull, BUT I recorded 31 because there’s nearly an inch of unusable band length on the left end before you can actually hook onto something.
This bra has a beautiful bright red/gray color combo, much nicer than the all back version that fitted me ( http://bra.pe/X2O2/ ). These super shock bands though!!! The band is super tight! I can't even fasten it. Would suit someone with a true 28 band size better, it stretches to 28" with a hard pull!
Despite Shock Absorber running small, this felt too loose to me- even on the tightest setting. I felt like this bra was trying to support my shoulder blades more than my boobs. But fit aside, the crisscrossing elastic bands that are inside the front of the bra are an odd choice? I figured they'd be mostly decorative, or that the rest of the fabric would be similar in elasticity, thus preventing the crisscrossing bands from cutting into you and having everything sorta.. slightly bulge out around it.. wrong. Who thought this was a good idea, honestly? Who said "you know those stress balls with the mesh? Let's do that with boobs!" To be fair it's not super noticeable from a normal distance, and maybe if the fit was better this would be different.. no idea, but this felt like I stretched crisscrossing elastic bands over my boobs. No thanks?
