First of all, this bra is listed as being Forest Green with Gold lace. The actual colors are Teal with Ecru lace. It's a very pretty color combination. The cups are a very soft tricot on the inside, and just a very thin layer of traditional foam padding throughout. The stretch satin on the outside feels like it could snag easily on jewelry if you're not careful. The contour cups give a nice rounded profile. Very comfortable! The band is Very snug, and has not loosened up with several months of wear. The straps have a flocking on the underneath side, but the edges felt a little ...rough at first. Not exactly scratchy, but enough to notice when putting it on. That has softened with washing. The placement of the front straps are closer inline with the apex of the cups, which I suspect helps minimize gaping, if you're prone to that. The straps in the back are attached ballet-style, so even someone with narrow shoulders shouldn't have a problem with them slipping. Even though the gore is 1" wide, it is low enough not to interfere with close-set breasts, and yet still high enough to give nice support and the cups have a decent amount of center projection. The wings of the bra are tall enough to prevent side spillage, along with the cups being fairly wide. So not really an issue with underarm tissue not getting into the cups.
This particular bra was made in Thailand.
For reference, I am 5'1" tall, average weight, functionally FoB, short but average-width rooted and projected, and I have since purchased several of these in different colors. Only the red one was smaller in the band. The others have all been very consistent. Read more 183 more words
Hi! I’m considering getting this bra. Also similar shape as you. I see under your "other bras that fit" that you generally go for a 32F - is that 32F UK size? Cos if so, I'm curious why you'd go for the 32DDD (US) and not the 32G (US. I'm a 32F (UK) so trying to decide what size to try.
Yes, nowadays I generally go with UK32F (like Panache), or UK32FF (like Fantasie), or US32G (like Wacoal). But this US32DDD model was a few years ago before I changed size, hence the different size.
Fabrics seem soft enough, but the band runs small. Was able to hook it on the longest set, but wouldn't wear it without an extender. Band doesn't have much stretch to it. Front straps cut into my armpits, twisting when I move, caused the cups to buckle. The added mesh panel above the outer cups do not cut in (probably because I am low-set). The gore is tall for me , didn't lie flat, sat on breast tissue.
Very short-waisted, center full, close set, somewhat narrow, immediately projected, shallow apex projection,...
Wacoal La Femme 32H fits me best. This Subtle Sensuality is 2 sizes smaller. I'm certain a larger size would fit well. As it is, the narrow cup forces my center -full tissue too close together for the design of the cup.
This was a purchase shrouded in optimism. Reality is not so rosey....especially bra purchases https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> For reference, this review is for US size 32DDD which is equivalent to UK 32E.
The band material is super soft, stretchy microfiber, and it feels big. This Wacoal model runs "true to size" rather ...ran smaller than size. The band stretches to 32". For this reason, I'm not inclined to purchase a 34: the band is too stretchy to provide the support I need on my 28" underbust. Interestingly, two models recently released by Wacoal run "true to size." I hope this is not a trend https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
The wires bite into my ribs. It feels like my breasts are pushing the cup forward and down. Judging from the floating gore, this is true. I can wear tilted gores for five minutes before my body passionately objects. This cup is 1-2 sizes too small. Much of this particular fit issue may be remedied by a 32G/H, which they don't manufacture in this model.
The gore is low and narrow. And, the cup offers better than average space for center fullness. Because of the gore design, a few stitches and two minutes would make this a very narrow gore. Awesome feature.
The straps are narrow, fully adjustable, and convertible via j-hook. These straps are very similar to the, relatively, narrow How Perfect Wireless bra straps. Still, the straps are supportive, but I appreciate the security of more robust straps.
Overall, a great t-shirt bra with a very low, narrow gore. Cup accommodates average apex projection, average width, and better than average center fullness. Super soft materials, sufficient padding for prominent nipples, and thin enough padding that it feels lined rather than heavily padded.
The fit is true to size and generally good, except the outer cup is a full 3/4" taller than the underwire, and cuts into my underarm and especially my Tail of Spence. Could not tolerate it more than a few minutes, so I didn't even try longer.
However, I did like the soft lace on the wide band, the three hooks, and the flocking on the straps.
Swapping the wires might make it more comfortable. AlI of the Bravo Bella wires are shorter at the wings. Like you, tall wings bother me. Ugh
And, I likely have a pair of flex wires I can send you that will fit :-)
I didn't realize until after writing the review that this is two cup volumes larger than my 30DD. I will see if a 30E or 32DD comes my way first! There is some hope left haha. Thanks for the offer!
Sexy! Sheer! Beautiful tonal embroidery! The cups are a bit narrow (5.25"). The embroidery is fine enough that it won't show under a tight shirt. However, there is a dart/seam that will show, even though it does not go all the way to the top edge. The cups have a mesh side sling to keep the girls front & center, and elastic along the top edge. Will fit best on someone with short roots and/or is FoB. The gore is ingeniously designed! The top inch of the underwires are separate, so that the wires overlap on someone with close-set breasts, thus reducing the width rather than sitting on breast tissue. The straps are wide-set and narrow, but are overlayed with delicate pleated ribbon which serves to keep the straps from loosening. The band (in my opinion) is the weakest design flaw. It has a straight back, seems to be on the short side, has no side boning for extra support. Therefore, back fat bulges might be a problem. I'd recommend going up a band size.
Salon--the gore design!! Thanks for sharing as this may help many of us close-set breast owners ;-)
I bet this would be an alteration folks could make on their own bras with flexible, wide set gores. Thanks so much for pointing this amazing design idea out.
Autocorrect. Ugh. "Swoon" was my chosen word rather than "Salon." Geez.
No matter how much a manufacturer pads their wires, .9" gore widths are still too wide. And, Wacoal is not known for center projection. This bra seems well-suited for average root width, average projection, average space between breasts. I would really appreciate an unlined @Wacoal for close-set, center-full, immediately projected breasts. However, the other Awareness features are so wonderful, I'll purchase a used model and replace/trim wires to a suitable size and overlap the gore ...wires for my short-waisted, close set, center-full self.
The lift and rounding are excellent. In fact, this is my favorite unlined shape, to date.
Sincerely, if comfort is important, Wacaol thoughtfully designs bras with comfort in mind. These features are expensive and time consuming, but I now better understand the list price. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
I'll post an update when I've successfully modified the gore on a used model. Read more 71 more words
This was my first well-fitting bra when I had more weight on me. It is soft and cozy with a bit of stretch. The cups were my first unlined cups. They are seamless. The straps are still firm, and if you are on the larger end of the 32DDD size range, it would still be supportive enough for you to wear around the house.
I have a pretty projected shape, so this one was pretty unflattering; it made my boobs look like they were hanging halfway down my chest. The band dug into my ribs pretty painfully too. Part of the problem is just that my shape makes strapless bras hard to find overall...
Great Tshirt bra if your good one is in the wash. Fabric is soft and comfy. Gore sits flat but is a bit low so I could see this becoming a problem at the end of the day. Straps are a tad too apart - sinks a bit into my armpits. Cups open a bit towards the gore. I need to lower the band to fill it but this means that the wire doesnt sit on my breast. Due to my breasts being a bit more far apart (three finger width between them) half cup are my best fits. Its difficult to find a plunge that fits well but this is the closest I have found T-shirt bra wise https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The cut of this brassiere seemed like it would make a great strapless that wouldn't slide down, with a low back for dresses....however, the actuality of it is disappointing. Because of the low back feature, there is no support/pressure directly behind the cups, which causes them to gap and not tack at all. The brassiere goes down so low on the waist, that when it ends, there is serious reverse muffin-top. They also don't have this in anything less than a band size 32", so my normal 28-30F was right out. Cup and band size seem true to size. Unsure if this would even be comfortable for all day wear due to the ribbing.
The Couture Contour is a pretty comfortable bra, made of smooth, soft material. The embroidered detail at the top of the cups gives the bra a nice flourish in what otherwise would be a very utilitarian bra. I also consider it a bonus that it is not scratchy. Some Wacoals I've encountered in the past were all up on my boobs with the scratchy lace and whatnot. I am on the fence about the fit of this bra. On the one hand, when I scoop and swoop, I get slight quadboob at top. However, the breast tissue seems to settle down after a while, giving the bra a better ...appearance. Does this mean I need to scoop and swoop more or can I let the boobs settle where they choose? I'm going to have to wear this model more often, and give it some thought. The straps are comfortable, although I noticed that the range in which you can tighten them is very short. While I was able to adjust them to a comfortable length, this could be an issue, maybe if you have a short torso? There is no gapping when I lean over, and I can fill out the bottom of the cups. The 32 band is what I would call a tight 32 - compared to some other 32 bands I've tried. I measure about a 31 at a snug fit, and 30 if I pull REALLY tight like I'm going to break the tape. I found the last hooks to be most comfortable -which is how a 32 should be, but because of my in-between size I find myself in either 30 bands, or 32 bands using the middle or even first set of hooks. I gave this bra what I call the exercise test --in which I go through my normal routine of weighted squats and other leg and butt exercises-- and it passed with flying colors. Granted, my routine doesn't include things like jogging (for that I guess I would need to bite the bullet and get a decent sports bra) but the bra didn't shift out of place or pinch, and my breasts didn't try to escape. Overall this seems like a good bra. I'm going to give it some more time before I decide if I need to change cup size, or if I can live with slight, periodic quadboob. When I put on a t-shirt and moved around some, you couldn't really see it, so.
[ETA]: Oh dear no, this doesn't fit each due to tissue migration or I was off to begin with. Such a shame because I love the feel of the fabric. Oh well https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Read more 340 more words
Wonderful bra that fits well and gives a great shape under clothes. It's very comfortable and is perfect for everyday; however, the cups and sides come up quite far, which eliminates this bra as a candidate for summer wear. Also, as a 30 FF who's forced to wear 32DDD bras in American brands, the band could be a bit tighter. I was able to wear it comfortably on the second hook initially. One size down would've been perfect.
Otherwise, great value for a classically beautiful and comfortable bra.
This is the best underwired bra I've ever had! It's so comfortable! It's even comfier than some non-wired bras. I wear this bra constantly. The underwires are so well cushioned that they don't push against my ribcage uncomfortably. Many underwired bras do. The shoulder straps are wide and cushioned so they're also super comfortable.
I've had this 32DDD bra for years, and it has lasted. Excellent quality.
This bra is a great match for my bottom-heavy boobs with wide roots. After weight loss, the cups are actually a bit too wide, which almost never happens. Usually, bras are too narrow for me.
It's my only bra that doesn't wrinkle in the ...tops of the cups after weight loss. It does a bit on my smaller left cup, but not on the right. It did at first, but shortening the straps helped for that. This bra can handle fluctuations in weight, which is strange.
I'm quite short (160 cm). The straps are too long for me. I had to do a little sewing job and shorten them. Now I've shortened them so much that there's not much room for adjustment anymore.
The bra is quite tall. The cups easily peak out from open necklines. But the tops of the cups don't still wrinkle, unlike in most full cup bras.
The wires are long and the cups go all the way to my armpits. That's ok with me because I often find many bras have too short wires. I have migrated tissue and stuff, and I like to keep the "armpit fluff" inside the cups.
The band is snug. If you're between band sizes, go for the bigger one. Read more 162 more words
I was really, really exhausted with the whole Amazon Wardrobe process, so when I decided based on measurements that this would probably fit, I founded the cheapest option available, planning on donating it if it didn't work - which ended up being ebay for $11 shipped. Haha, anyway, happily it totally worked out.
My low tide measurements are actually closer to a 30F, but the ABTF calculator still says that I might be more comfortable in a 32E. At the top end of my cycle, I'm a solid 32E and gain 1-1.5" per bust measurement. This is basically my perfect lower measurements bra. I have yet to hit ...full bust since I purchased it, but suspect it will likely cut in at the top when I have a bit more more heft. The wires are a good close fit for me, and wide enough for my side tissue. The gore tacks, and happily is short enough to not hit what I call the danger zone. Because of my sternum shape, gores that are in the 5-6.8 cm measurement tend to push in and hurt. The cups are low enough on the sides not to cut into my armpits either, which is an issue I can run into because I'm short. All in all I'm really happy with the fit on this one. Beautiful pink bra with darker pink lace detail. Band is comfortable (I measure 28" snug). The cups are much too small for me--I bought this before I was accurately fitted.
