This is a T-shirt front close bra with convertible straps that can crisscross in the back. It has spacer foam cups and this Peacoat colorway is simply another name for Navy Blue. The band is clearly too snug. From my experience so far, front closures tend to have smaller bands. (I wouldn't have expected that to be the case, since once the it stretches out/relaxes there is no adjustment in the band...and if the band is already longer to begin with...it makes no sense to me). The cups are clearly not the right shape for me. (I am more projected than shallow.) Even though these wires are an average width of 5.5", there is an inner sling that is tighter than the depth of the cups, and it runs half the width of the cup, from top to bottom. So, I'm not sure if the cups just don't have enough projection, or it is simply too small. And I can't exactly say it fits shallow and wide. It's just weird!
A three part thin contour foam. No thick padding. Amazon description said it had removable cookies. Umm...nope! Just thin foam in a 3 part cup with a 2 part outer layer of embroidered lace. (Their description has since been corrected.)
As for fit: No, no, no! Scratchy edges all around. Single layer band. Very wide split gore curls outward, doesn't sit flat. Cups are 1950's pointy. (They call it 'natural'). Seams show. Compared to other Wacoals of this size, the wires are surprisingly narrow, but so is the depth of the cups. Seemed cut in rather than open. Major quad.
On the plus side: Beautiful embroidery. The fully adjustable straps are unique: the top side is smocked with ridges, which hold in place beautifully. Undersides are soft flocking. Tall wings help support but didn't cut into underarms.
Wacoal sizing is so hit or miss for me. I would say this is more true to size. The cups have stretch and lots of give allowing them to fit larger than the cup depth
Another ebay buy. Nice material, comfortable but it is the teensiest bit too small that I get some minor quadding. Also, sadly didn't pass the nipple test (they poked through, visible in t-shirt).
I have purchased several of these bras in various colors, and I find there are slight variations between them (but not enough to change sizes). So far the "Tango Red" colorway has had the shortest band (so I'm using an extender on that one until the elastic relaxes). On this particular "Blue Sapphire/Sphinx" the cups quad in the center ever so slightly; but because of the stretch cups it's not uncomfortable. The gore sits securely against my sternum and the top of it sits perfectly just below my center fullness. I have tried the 32G (in another color) to fix the quadding issue, but they only made the wire wider and not the cup deeper, which is what I really need. Overall, this style is a very comfortable bra and on most days is my go-to bra of choice.
I have tried quite a lot of Wacoals and own a few; enough to know that (in general) their bands run slightly small and the cups run true. However, this "In Bloom Contour" is the exception. The band is at least 2" shorter than their others. I had to use an extender on the longest hooks to even get it on. The cups also ran a full size small and I quadded everywhere.
As for the bra itself, it's very pretty: the band is a single layer of stretch mesh, with black and silver flowery embroidery stitched directly onto the fabric and not layered over it as an applique. It did not seem to impede the stretch any at all. The cups are shallow, and have a thin layer of foam for modesty and to even out the nice rounded shape. The top edge seems to be fairly closed. The bandless gore is a plunge with the center fabric gathered into what reminds me of butterfly wings, with 3 little pearls over the top. The straps are fully adjustable.
This bra isn't much to look at. It's very utilitarian. But it has some nice features...and others that are not so nice.
Pro's: Thin spacer-type foam cups. Tall, full cup, (but not too open). Stretchy cups conform to you rather than you conforming to them. They create a nice rounded shape. Cups are very comfortable and will stretch with you for those times when you feel fuller. Tall wings (aka 'side support'). Kicked in back straps (won't fall off). Amazing 4 hooks on a DDD!
Con's: Front straps are very wide and cut into my Tail of Spense. Also, not fully adjustable. ...Band is stronger on the elastic edges, so that the rest of the band is weaker. Because the band is so tall it creates bulges in the back & underarm. Gore is slightly more than 3" tall and sits awkwardly on my close-set breasts. Oddly, the gore (mostly) tacks when standing (before swoop & scoop), but doesn't when leaning/after the swoop & scoop. The fabrics used in the cups/straps do not prevent bounce. 'Cashmere Rose' color is just a fancy name for Pink Mauve. Not my favorite. Read more 92 more words
Love the color of the blue 'Campanula'! As for fit, it quadded in the center and gaped on the outer edge, a problem I seem to have all too often. The band was a little snug, but not uncomfortable. Had good side support, but back fat was not entirely eliminated. The straps were fully adjustable, which for me, starts out almost completely lengthened.
I found the lace band to be very tight. I could only get it on when I put it on backwards, then twist it around. But it was much too tight to do it behind my back. I lengthened the straps as much as possible and they still felt short. The gore was very odd on this one, too. Immediately after putting it on, even without the "swoop & scoop" the top of the gore curled outward. The bottom of the gore sat flat, but the upper edge curled away from my sternum. Then, after swooping & scooping, the gore sat on my breast tissue and the cups quadded throughout the cup. Bottom line, the cup might fit much better if the band wasn't so tight.
I had high hopes as I've previously (before baby 2) loved the non wired version of this bra, but this cuts into my ribs & after 20 minutes I'm screaming to take it off. It's nothing special to look at, but @Wacoal does make some pretty colors & for a t-shirt bra it doesn't need to be fancy, but it does need too be comfy. Will be returning
This is amazingly supportive and lightweight because of the laminated lace. It has all the benefits of Wacoal's popular Halo Lace (http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dinel/) with more supportive fabric and a slightly wider cup. And, this lace is softer to the skin and more supportive than Ewa Michalak laces. I'm so eager for Wacoal to expand their size range.
The gore is too tall, but the wires are close together at the bottom. This dimension is critical to my comfort. Most manufacturers have wider gore bases which cause wires to sit on breast tissue along the length of the gore and around a portion of the bottom of each breast. But, replacing these wires with shorter Bravo Bella flexible wires will dramatically improve my comfort and negate the gore height issue.
It is one size too small for me. Otherwise, I'd happily keep this for summer. Hides effortlessly under white knits on pale skin.
This is one size too small. My compressible tissue causes this to look better than it feels. Within three minutes, detailed impressions of the lace across the top of the cup were on my breasts, and my underarm was aching from the too-narrow wire. I'm in wireless bras until the pain subsides.
32DDD has thinner straps than 34DDD. But, the gore width, cup depth, wing height, and gore height are nearly identical to the 34DDD. The big difference is cup width and cup height.
First off, the band runs much too small for a 32. However, I love the construction of it: stretch microfiber on the inside; an outer layer of stretch satin, and a super thin layer of stretch padding sandwiched in the middle, which gives the band nice support and 'body'; the edges are bonded/fused together without any elastic. All together it feels very nice against your skin. So it was disappointing it was so short. The cups are also nice quality fabric and feel like it would be comfortable to wear, but unfortunately for me ran much too shallow and wide. It felt like I was being squished into it and at the same time the wires were being pushed down.
I really love how the band is made; an inner layer of soft stretch microfiber, a middle layer of some sort of ultra thin stretch padding, and stretch satin on the outside. There is no elastic on the edges, but the layers are bonded together in a nice flat finish. But the band definitely seems short, even on the longest hook. It would most likely stretch with wear (they always do), but it caused excessive 'muffin top' under the arms and around the back. The hooks are 3 x 3, which are awesome! The straps have a soft flocking on the underside, and the front edge ...is connected to the cup with a smooth finished seam (not attached by simply stitching the strap on top of the cup). The gore is fabulously low, especially for close set breasts. The cups however...are padded with graduated thickness, from about 3/4" at its' thickest (on the lower/outer quadrant), tapered to a smooth edge at the top of the cup that was neither too closed or too open. The width of the underwire is quite wide, & wrapped around under the arms OK, but tried to squish everything in with nowhere to go. I think the padding is intended to push 'up and in', but on me it flattened everything out and spread everything east/west with quadding everywhere. Sure seems designed for shallow & wide rather than narrow & projected.
Extra soft microfiber. Not good for the environment, but it feels fantastic on my skin. The band does not cause any rolls. The bra is advertised to reduced back rolls. Judging from Amazon reviews, the band works wonderfully for those who often experience back rolls. Because the fabric tension is very similar to the band elastic tension, the band is intensely comfortable. What was designed to reduce back rolls has also increased the wearer's comfort. Wonderful.
Predictably, this bra is not a good fit for those with center fullness or those needing immediate projection. However, I will strongly recommend it for those with more shallow breasts. It seems ...an effortless fit for the right breasts. Intensely comfortable and just enough thin foam padding to expertly shroud prominent nipples. The fabric will appeal to those with sensory issues. It is soft!
The straps are fully adjustable, soft, and supportive. The wires are padded more than Panache/Cleo. The gore is short and narrow. Compared to Panache plunges I've tried in the past, this bra feels like my softest blanket whereas Panache feels like stiff curtain sheers. I prefer soft and supportive to stiff.
Bratabase needed some data and I'm fond of Wacoal. Another wonderful Wacoal bra. Read more 95 more words
So comfortable, pretty, and smooth under tops. Straps can tend to slide with a day of wear since they don't go quite short enough. Band also stretches with wear. Not the most supportive. Very, very comfortable. Wish I hadn't outgrown the cups, I loved having this in rotation.
Well okay, it doesn't fit perfectly. It's a little too shallow and I get a little bit of center-spillout. But it fits a whole lot better than the 34D - Wacoal ยป Dahlia Underwire Triangle Plunge (WE103003) did, and it's the same gorgeous color and design, (with which I'm completely in love) and it's a *beautiful brown bra*, so it's staying.
I'm amazed at how brave y'all have made me. I tried on this bra, measured it, and said "wires too wide." So I bent them. There. Fixed it. "Altered" my brand-new, fancy expensive bra by brute force. Now I have to keep it. It actually is a lot better, if still not quite perfect.
By far the smallest of my wacoal bras, https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I bought it on line, thinking that for sure would fit, wacoal is a very consistent brand, but this bra is at least one size small on the cup and the band feels more like a 30 band than a 32. The bra is a really pretty basic bra, iam really sad it didn't fit. The straps don't adjust all the way, you can adjust them only half way.
The band, gore height, and straps are comfortable. The lining is just enough to prevent my nipples from showing. The contrasting lace is beautiful and does not irritate my sensitive skin. This is a fantasic bra for average width, shallow-average breasts. Beautiful and comfortable. However, the gore is too wide, and the cup a bit small since my tissue has migrated from under my armpits.
After narrowing the gore, my breasts no longer fit in these cups. There is an incredible fit change! The band support has significantly improved. However, because my breast tissue is no longer tethered by the wire, suddenly there is substantially more tissue to accommodate. This fills me with trepidation: bra volume must be too big before I narrow a gore or it will be too small after the alteration. How much too big, I don't yet know. More experimentation ahead... https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
Beautiful, sheer, feminine, and comfortable, band a little on the bigger side, as the cup, but not enough not to fit, the straps adjust all the way, the support is great and the shape very natural. Very light weight.
