• I always thought 't-shirt bra' referred to how you can't see the seams like in an unlined bra?

• Yes they are easier (and cheaper) to sew because they involve taking a premade moulded cup (often machine made) and then covering this with fabric. Whereas for a seamed cup, it requires many more steps, especially if padded as you have to cut and seam: the padding, the outer fabric & the inner lining fabric (more if it contains cookie pockets). Even for the simplest of bra designs there's something like 20+ unique operational steps to put together a bra.

  Regarding the being afraid of nipples thing. I personally prefer lightly padded cups because I have a lot of skin sensitivity issues and the materials used for unlined cups is often just hellish against my skin & worse on my nipples. Like Freya bras. Can't understand how anyone can be comfortable in them because to me the mesh they use in their unlined cups feels like sandpaper. So even if they weren't a shape mis-match, I'd never wear them.

  With the moulded cups, I did used to wear them when I was a 32C for school (we weren't allowed our bras to show through our white shirts) but they never fit great as the apex was too far to the side so that would actually end up collapsing in as they wore in making it look like I had "inny" nipples lol.

• I have not dealt with Bravissimo, but I wouldn't panic just yet!

  I know when I returned some bras to Breakout bras, it was almost at the 30-day deadline (despite having sent it back with 2-3 days after receiving) and it was fine. Usually they have to go through a "receiving" department anyways, to get checked back in? did you get tracking on your package?

  I'm guessing that stores know that shipping are all messed up still because of the Covid.

  When I see this I want to cry... I used to have amazing breasts, they really were mind blowing... But hey I was young and I didn't have money to buy a good bra, no shop, no internet, it was just out of my reach. I could never had bought any bra of my size , I was slim back then, measuring less than 65 cm + big boobs of ideal shape..well now that's just a memory... my tits were murdered by not having access to anything and not being able to afford. Then health problems appeared and I was going 60kg-90kg-60-90kg... from perfect shape and figure to obesity and complete sags and despair..

• Haha, turns out I was right then!!! For me, it's my shoulders. I was always under the impression that I had narrow shoulders but being on this site and seeing how some people struggle with how far apart certain bras' straps are made me realize that actually I think I have average-to-broad shoulders. Growing up, I was always thinking about this in relation to my mom, who not only has broad shoulders but has more of a square shape than I do, so I think I was envisioning my proportionally smaller ribcage and more triangular torso as making me have narrow shoulders.

• @bustyand now that I think about it, I think my shoulders aren't as narrow as I think either. My mom said I had a broad back when I was a kid and I was like "what? No, my upper body is so small" but that's only in comparison to my giant hips. Can't believe I find new things about my body out after existing already for so many years (not as many you think but yeah).

• Your bras are in an odyssey. But seriously that sucks. At least Amazon has a great replacement policy. I’ve had it happen a few times, they delivered to a different home. They just send out a new item at no cost.

• This is very helpful information! I wish I had a go bag this time last year when we had to evacuate our house early in the morning due to a major gas main line being broken in front of gated community. The Sheriffs only gave us enough time to grab our kids and cat. We left in our pajamas! Now I keep supplies in my car trunk.

• Happy2BraShop gas main break is very scary, luckily you all got out quickly! We keep supplies in the car but we only have one car so I also keep one in the house in case the car isn't home. Also when our building had a fire our car was parked right next to the door and the fire department made everyone gather at the far edge of the parking lot so nobody had access to their cars for a few hours. It was an old building with asbestos and so we had to stay away while they assessed everything. Now we live in a much nicer area, but also on the 4th floor so I have to be able to get out and down the stairs quickly. I've had to run outside early in the morning in the snow before and I'm glad I had my go bag with a bra and jacket in it because everyone else was outside in pajamas in the cold!

• maybe some other Polish brands? although tbh - I imagine you may run into the same issue of the cups being too tall.
  It's my understanding that Polish bras are known for their soft wires, but I haven't tried any other besides Comexim and E.M.
  I see that you're in S. Korea, can you order and return bras to BraStop? If so, they have some other Polish brands, Gorsenia https://www.brastop.com/collections/gorsenia-lingerie, Ava https://www.brastop.com/collections/ava-lingerie-bras, Nessa https://www.brastop.com/collections/nessa-lingerie, Kinga https://www.brastop.com/collections/kinga-lingerie-bras. I would only do it if it's easy to purchase and return in your country! I like Comexim/E.M. because their fabrics are not scratchy, I don't know abt the others

• I love it. I'm a fan of people doing what makes them happy, especially when it harmlessly challenges the norm. I also think it kind of more or less is the norm for people with smaller boobs anyway or in certain settings like clubs. It isn't, however, something I've tried myself yet. One thing that ties me up about it in particular is the presence of hooks at the back with many bras.

• Yep, I quite like this trend. I do it fairly often but under like a sheer/mesh shirt, for example. It only gets a bit much for me when it's too skimpy. For example, I was in the tram and there was a woman only wearing a bra (and a very ill-fitting one too) with jeans. I wouldn't do unless it was a tube top kinda situation or something rectangular, not a plunge or bralette. The example in the picture is quite tame to me and looks great with jeans! I like!

  I guess b/c I wear Polish, I don't need side support per say? They already bring everything forward.

• Side support is additional fabric at the sides of the cup near the armpit end of the underwire. It’s like a little sling of extra fabric to give more support and essentially move things forward. I’d say it’s most helpful for those with wide roots, but that’s not necessarily always the case. Some bra companies use the term “full coverage” or “full cup” to indicate that there’s more support.

  Like BraOdyssey said, they’re typically a 4-part cup so there’s two vertical seams in you look inside. You may or may not be able to see it in a mirror, it depends if the seam is visible on the outside of the bra cup.

• Ha ha, I'm still on my sports bra journey, as I used to wear "size M" Nike sports bras, and that just wasn't working for me. I also starting layering two sports bras on top of one another before my ABTF journey. Then I also had a sports bra that was so tight and uncomfortable.

  Anyway, I actually saved this sports bra that I said I was going to return and it's actually pretty good! I have no idea how long it will last though, as it's a pretty soft fabric. https://www.bratabase.com/chest/dn92l/ I would say, it's a little tricky to get in to. Other than that, it meets all my needs as it does qualify as a "high impact" sports bra (a.ka. jogging) although I think for a best fit, a true sister size up would be best. I'm little bit quadding out of it, but I make it work.

• I love the Panache Wired Sport for everything. I lift weights and do yoga with the J-hook undone, and I run (sprints and distance) with it hooked. As far as sports bras go, it's my most comfortable even though it's a poor technical fit.

  My criteria for a sports bra are rather low: it needs to eliminate nearly all bounce, not give me uni-boob, and I need to wear it without a shirt. The Panache Sport checks all those boxes for me.

  Unfortunately, I don't think they go to a 32J, they do have a 34J, though, and I personally wear a different volume in it than I do most bras. I'm about a 28FF/G, and I wear a 30E in the Sport.

  I also used to quite like the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Sports Bra. That did eliminate all bounce, but it's highly compressive and very sweaty since it creates massive uni-boob. Sizes in that bra are kind of finicky; they run small, and how small depends entirely on the colorway. I had two, a purple and blue one that was a TTS 28F and a pink one that was a 32E that fit the same as my 28F.
  I don't wear that style anymore, and even when I did, it was strictly for sprint and HIIT work, but if you can make it work for you, they'll last forever. I had my blue one for years and washed it in the machine on hot and dried it in the dryer, and it was still going strong when I gave it away.

• BraOdyssey ok damn that may not work then. I was looking at the Gaja as I am just wanting a blue bra for no particular reason. It sounds like it already has lowered cups and gore with straps moved in, which is what I usually request, but I’m worried it will be too shallow??

• It’s always a bummer when you find an awesome blogger and they just fall off the face of the planet. Few years back a few of the ladies from here, with implants, made a blog together. Had tons of great info, then they just stopped. They all disappeared from here as well. : (

  I found that wearing a bra one size too small really helps the straps stay in place (not that you should be uncomfortable)

EM follow-up questions

You are all so wonderfully helpful, so I'm back again for more advice. As I mentioned in my last post, for reference, my usual Comexim size is a 60HH 3HC with overlapping gore, straps moved in, and added depth above the wire as alterations. What UK bras I have are either 28F or 30E.

I have very soft tissue after weightloss; ... pendulous with narrow roots (but not super narrow, as the 60H wires I custom ordered in my 60HH plunges from Comexim were too narrow). I used to be FoT before weightloss. Now I lack a lot of upper fullness most of the time. If I gain weight or retain water, then I look a little more even.

In a well-fitting half cup, you can see some more upper fullness/cakes on a plate, but in a balcony bra, my boobs just kind of sink down. I get a lot of wrinkling and empty space at the top. I have functionally short roots because they get shallow pretty quickly, making the upper roots of little consequence to my fit. If a cup is too tall and closed on top, it will cut in on my chest while still having empty space on top and lots of strap-gap. So short cups help.

I always needed the reduced cup alteration in Comexim plunges when I was a 60J/65HH, but since losing weight, Comexim plunges no longer work for me, with the apex being too deep and the bottom of the cup being too shallow, plus strap gap. Based on this info, would the Ewa Michalak S cut be a better fit for my shape?

My understanding is the SM is basically an unlined S, so the second question: would the SM cut like Ewa Michalak Sm Czarna Mgiełka (481) also work for my shape, or would I get the inevitable wrinkling/empty space at the top? The worst culprits of this for me are bras like Cleo Marcie and CK Ellis, which are supposedly ideal for my shape and indeed the right cup height, but wrinkle so much on top.

The worst part is that my soft tissue spills over the seam that connects the lace/top panel to the base of the cup, so I get a lot of in-cup quadding as well. Even my Cleo Lily does this. I have checked other users' fit pics of the Czarna Mgielka and it doesn't seem like anyone gets that in-cup quadding/spilling over the seam, but my boobs very soft/deflated, so I'm wary. Maybe SM bras have seams that just don't cause that, which would be great.

I don't do any bras with stretch lace because they just don't have enough support at the seams to stop the in-cup quadding unless I size way down, and then they are too shallow and cut in.

I've already put in an order for an unlined 3HC from Comexim, which I am more hopeful about, but that EM is tempting me from afar. It feels easier to risk and S than SM due to my issues with unlined balconies, but I would much prefer something unlined for summer. Thank you all again!

  Also the Panache (wired) sports bra works well for many folks (including me, different size range but still - I need quite a bit of projection too and I really like this sports bra).
