not much info...

so does anybody have any info to share about the Aubade brand bras? not much logged on here, and don't have a clue what general body shape they typically are for?
they look promising having 3-part cups with low plunge gores, but they are super expensive on Amazon and the ones on ebay are cheaper by half price but they are ... non-returnable so would like to know before i chance them.
any input would be greatly welcome
mainly if anyone knows if they run deep or shallow or narrow or wide, etc.

- I have tried a lacy half cup bra (one vertical seam in the middle of the cup) in 32d once :
  - it was not stretchy in the cups (=supportive)
  - Super low cut (=not supportive)
  - the back was loose for a 32, like a 34. Not especially designed for supporting a lot of weight, but this is ok for a 32d.
  - cups were a LOT too projected for me ( I need shallow cups). Don't know if they run big or not, because the shape was totally wrong for me.
  - wires were not as sturdy as in DD+ bras but more sturdy than what I am used for in my size range. I found them a lot too narrow for me, and to "U" shaped, but I like very wide and bendy underwires, so maybe they are somwhere between "avergage" and "narrow"
  - the bra looked very good, well made, and very "woman", not "girl on a budjet"
  - The fabric was not scratchy, but not very soft.

T-shirts: to seam or not to seam

So, now that I have a nice T-shirt bra (Yay 30DD - Panache » Porcelain Lace (5726) !), I think I've actually found that I prefer the look of weird wrinkles from seamed bras under many of my shirts than the prominent round orbs of my Panache Porcelain Lace. Is this weird?? Who would have thought!

Just working on my fitness

This came up today: someone I know doesn't wear sports bras (or as I like to call them, sporties) at all. She wears her regular bra from the day before to her morning workout. She does circuit training, fyi. She seemed surprised when I said that would not fly at yoga or running.

So my question is, how normal is this? ... Do you wear your regular bra to work out? IF so, which one?

My current workout fave is my 34E - Shock Absorber » Active Multi Sports (4490). But I could stand to go down in the band and up in the cups. Am also considering a Moving Comfort Maia Underwire Sports (350011)
However, I can't find accurate measurements in the 32E (F).

- I havent worn 'regular' bras much (its new to me) - i always wore Decent Exposures which are custom sized unstructured cloth bras. I also didnt exercise much. But I had nothing else, so i wore that - and put my arm across my front if I had to do much. I still havent found ANY sports bras in my size.
  
  But if people dont know about bras, they dont know about bras. I'm not sure why you think it wouldnt fly at yoga, since its not high impact
- Yoga: I'm rather advanced at it, as a disclaimer. Two issues: 1) pouring out tops of cups during inverted poses (I like halfcups, balconettes, etc.) 2) wires digging into ribs during twists.

Are the Curvy Kate Lottie and Gia a lot alike?

I just recieved the Lottie from a reddit user, and it's ALMOST perfect.
I hate the shape the seams give me. It supports me and makes my actual boobs perky, but the shape of the bra is weird on me and looks droopy.
Is the Gia shaped similarly?

The bras I ordered in January are finally in. Well… some of them. The Hepburn should come arrive in 1-2 weeks. The basic color Marcies came in but had to be sent back because they were recalled!

- Marcies recalled? Can I ask why? We're they beige?
- The basics (nude and black) were recalled because the people that made the bras made a serious mistake on the fabric. That's all that I know. NOW this doesn't mean that all the Marcies everywhere are being recalled, at the very least the ones delivered to A Sophisticated Pair have been recalled.

Is anyone else picky about animal print?

I can't stand natural looking animal print. To me it just looks tacky and old-peopley, though I realize a lot of people dig it, or else it wouldn't be a thing. I don't mind it in impossible colours (I've got a blue animal print bra and I love it) or like, black on black/gray, but that's it. Does anyone have any other prints that they usually can't stand but can make some exceptions?

- I have the exact same feeling about animal prints, and even if I can stand them in the unnatural colourways I would never be able to wear them myself. The only exception for this is a Mimi Holliday bra (can't remember the name) that was leopard with purple details, that one I somehow could imagine trying on.
- That actually doesn't sound bad. The purple would definitely make the leopard print look okay.

- its a red / blue one. I cant find the current one in my size in the uk without expensive returns so need to know sizing before I do that. I ordered a 32GG and 32H , the H hasn't arrived yet and the GG is only slightly small with just an indent of quadding. The H should arrive tomorrow to compare.
  
  The Marcies are very odd, but I only had a few mins to try on so will try again later when all little people have gone home / to bed!

Ok so I have six bras that fit (2 Lily's, a Lucy, a couple of nude Wacoals and a white Natori)...

...And 10 on order!!! I'm crazy.

Ugh, red Parfait Charlotte, why do you bleed so profusely? I just washed the panties for the second time (in cold water) and it still looked like they were in a sink full of kool aid. I threw some white vinegar in with the rinse water, but I don't think it's helping that much.

- I wish I had the commitment to hand wash knickers. I mean, I do if they're silk, but then I tend to wear those less often because of the washing... Otherwise I just can't bother with it.

I've bought how many bras??!!!!!

Just noticed today that I am up to 55 bra transfers! What a fun journey! If it wasn't for bratabase I could never of afforded to try that many bras. No wonder I feel so confident with my current bra choices. I almost gave up on bra sales and transfers as my very first exchange went horribly wrong, but, it was the only issue I had with all of those transfers. So glad I never gave up. Thanks to all my boob twins making this a great place

Which Deco?

looking at trying the Freya Deco half cup or plunge, but can't decide which one. anyone tried both and care to share the differences? I did a comparison, but I'm looking more for info on how they fit and what shape they tend to give breasts. Thanks!

- Half cup tends to be wider and shallower (as half cups tend to be to my detriment) and the plunge is narrower and more projected. Wants a tall root too.
- The halfcup also have a huge push up pad. Even so I got more cleavage from the plunge. Try order both and just return your least favourite?

- You're right, I was in that size at one time, but now I am in 30C/28D (esp. for unlined bras). I stopped breastfeeding about 18 months ago and my size has slowly settled back down.
  Cleo made the Marcie in 30C for just one season so it must not have sold very well.

Recent bra failure :(

My recent mispurchase was the 38J - Sculptresse » Paradise Full Cup Bra (7715). Since I usually wear anything around 34K-L so I had to size up in band to get the cup volume I need. It has been on my wish list for a long time. I love the cute Butterfly print and that it is apparently ... modelled after the Panache Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951). I have to say that it only shares the same cut with the Jasmine but the lace section on top of the Sculptresse bra is not stretchy at all. I think that actually makes the bra more stable and sturdy. I had issues with the Jasmine being too weak for my boobs so I had high hopes Sculptresse's take on the popular cut.

What made it a failure? It come up very small in the cups compared to older models like Sculptresse Bellise Balconnet Bra (6891) and Sculptresse Willow Full Cup Bra (6905) . I can fit into Bellise in a 38J since the cups run big and do not even have to alter the band since it comes up small and I can wear it on the tightest setting.
With the Paradise I have visible quadboob and the band feels much too big.

What were your latest bra failures?

  My recent one was the underwire literally coming out of my Bravissimo bras to the point I don't even want to buy them full price anymore. And my AP bra fits but I eventually spill out but rather than returning if I decided to try and see if I could alter it, so we'll see.
  
  The bm Aqua was also a recent fail with a really weird shape.
- I haven't bought any Bravissimo bra for full price and had no wire issues yet. (Won't mean anything probably) But I would be so much more mad if it happened to me and I paid full price.
  Does Bravissimo at least give you replacements for those bras?

So today I received my Comexim order! YAY!

There’s kind of a long story about this order. You see, a good while ago I ordered a black Basic bra from Wellfitting in a 65H. It fit pretty decently—too small, but I knew that the Basic was supposed to fit about a half cup smaller than the other plunges due to being ... so closed on top, and I was mainly ecstatic about the narrow wires and, mainly, the straps that didn’t dig into my armpits.

So, armed with this knowledge, I ordered the Georgia and the Ingrid in 65H from Comexim. They arrived—too small! Drat!

So I tried again. They Georgia and the Ingrid weren’t TOO tiny, so I ordered a cup up, in a 65HH, an added the Ginger in the same size.

All three arrived today. Guess what? THEY SEEM TO FIT! Maybe a hair small, but I don’t care! They won’t quad under shirts and they’re comfy as fuck!

Next I’ve got my eye on a half cup, the Burgundy, which I will definitely be ordering in a 65J as you’re supposed to size up in Comexim half cups.

I’m getting there, you guys! I’m getting there! My bras are fitting decently and making me feel pretty!

I’ll put up measurements and pictures once I get some time (still plenty of backlogged bras to get up). Thanks for all the resources and helpfulness!

Bra-Sized Swimwear Win!

So swimwear has never, ever fitted me. Ever. Tank suits are often too short in the length, owing to my curves. Or they're baggy at the waist. Or they pinch at the butt. But mostly, there just isn't room enough for my bust. I know I wasn't wearing the right sizes all through my youth, but I estimate I grew ... up being a 28f/30e. I became a 38e (which was probably really a 34h or so) during pregnancy and nursing. I am now a 30FF/32F and I'm telling you nothing ever fits. I have racing suits with shelf bras and the side cut-in is laughable, the support non-existent. I have had under wired tank suits (Gottex, Miracle Suit) where the wires were sitting on tissue and I was surprised when the wires popped out. I have a shelf bra suit in my correct body size where my boobs are barely covered at the nipple, but if I don't swoop or scoop, I can convince myself that that smushed up mess is how it's supposed to look. I've tried those "D-cup" suits by Gottex Profile. Ha. That is all.

Fast forward to today: the first day of the rest of my life. I got in my Panache Swimwear order from Zulilly. And all I can say is, when's the next open swim?

For the record, I ordered the Tallulah one-piece, the Holly tankini, and the Nancy tankini, all in 32F. They can be tricky to get on, but I am encompassed and supported. Yay!

First bra I threw away since properly measured

Other than those ill-fitting 32As, I threw away a bra for the first time since I found my size and it's...... Jude.
I don't miss it though, because I swear, that bra was trying to kill me with its stabby gore :-/
Removing the wires didn't do much, it just made the fit worse.
Such a shame that the bra looked actually good on me, but ohhh wellll, what can ya do. At least I learned to stay away from bras with disconnected bands.
