  1. Révèle Moi Perfect Fit Underwire Bra (1571)

    Purchasing: $80 on Amazon, non-neutrals available

    Band:
    Continuous with two layers of stretch mesh and elastic at top of band.
    Wing support: None.
    Back close with 4 columns of hooks.
    Fit: Too long (rides up). Wing height just barely tall enough. NO axillary skin spillage.

    Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing

    Cups: Full coverage with 3 seams.
    Most is non-stretch lace with stretch lace at the top edge.
    The non-stretch lace is lined with a soft, non-stretch mesh. The top stretch mesh is unlined.
    Unpadded underwire.
    Gives a pleasantly round shape.
    Fit: Just barely wide enough to contain all breast tissue. Smooth line on the top of the cup (likely due to the stretch lace in this ... portion). Slight wrinkles just above the wire (slightly too much immediate projection for me).

    Straps: smooth elastic, full adjust, leotard back

    Fit under clothing:
    Not smooth under tight tee (despite marketing claims that it is).
    Not visible under v-neck.
    Barely visible under tank (shows with movement but not at rest).
    The nude outer with pink lining is absolutely invisible under a thin white shirt (on my medium Caucasian skin tone). This is my go-to bra under white summer tops.

    About this Bra

    Purchasing:
    * $65 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (not Amazon Wardrobe)
    * sometimes non-neutral colors are available
    * Chantelle uses French sizing. Bratabase displays this brand using European sizing. This review is for a UK 32E (US 32DDD, EU 70F, FR 85F).

    Band:
    * Outer layer is a black stretch mesh. Inner layer is a beige, nearly opaque stretch knit.
    * elastic at top of band
    * no seaming nor boning for wing support
    * continuous band - wires lower than wings
    * back closure
    ** 4 columns of hooks

    Straps:
    * smooth elastic
    * soft (don't stand up on their own)
    * full adjust
    * leotard back

    Cups:
    * 3-seamed (4-section) full cup (center pull straps) ...
    * unpadded underwire
    * The top panel is made of a black mesh that stretches vertically much more than horizontally. Unlined.
    * Outer panel of cup (side support) is made with a black mesh that stretches horizontally much more than vertically (opposite of the top edge of the cup). Lined with BEIGE, semi-sheer, non-stretch knit.
    * Rest of cup made with a non-stretch black lace and lined with BEIGE, non-stretch mesh.
    * soft cups (no molding or padding)

    Fit

    About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts
    * average projection
    * wide-set (3 fingers width of space between breasts)
    * very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line)
    * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full)
    * short root height, average vertical placement
    * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away)
    * conical shape (but will squish to round)
    * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue
    * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame
    * front (anterior) rib flares

    Band:
    * length: back rides up (even on tightest hook)
    * wings: too short, boobs escape
    * no axillary skin spillage

    Gore:
    * tacks
    * height fine
    * separation fine

    Cups:
    * give a flat, wide, rounded shape
    * cups too narrow
    * smooth line at top of cup (only because so much breast tissue is sitting outside the wire, pushed out by too small cups and too long band)
    * wrinkles at bottom the cup, breast pushing wire down looking for more projection (not enough immediate projection at the wire)

    Straps:
    * feel far apart but don't slip
    * adjust short enough

    Appearance under Clothing:
    * Seams visible under T-shirt.
    * Cup edges hidden by V-neck.
    * Very visible in armholes of sleeveless shirt.

    Comfort & Fit Summary
    * band too big, cups too small
    * try FR 80H (UK 30FF) to be one size down in band and one cup volume up

    Reviews for this bra indicated the band runs loose and to sister size down a band and up a cup. The band is to snug for me and is causing the wires to pull and the cups to flatten out. Getting some light quadboob at the top edge of the cup. I suppose I could use an extender, as that would eliminate the issues the small band is causing.

    Otherwise, I think it needs a little more projection to fit really well, although that's a little hard to tell for certain in this size. The construction is nice. 4 part cup, fully adjustable straps, soft, unpadded cups in a ... double layer. Straps are not too wide, which is a trend I've been fighting lately. Very supportive feeling and I'm not getting in-cup quadding like I often do with unpadded styles. This does have a slightly wider gore than I typically wear, and it seems that my breasts are farther apart than usual. Not in a totally bad or weird way, though. Just not as close set as my other bras.

    32H or I would probably be ideal size for me. Returned.

    Me: short & narrow roots, center full, close set, pendulous, petite, short waisted, low set, fairly even fullness, narrow shoulders, soft

    Purchasing: $72 on Amazon with Prime Free Shipping & Free Returns, some sizes/colors available through Prime Wardrobe, non-neutrals available

    Band:
    Three-piece smooth knit with elastic at top of band.
    Wing support: None.
    Back close with 3 columns of hooks.
    Fit: Length good. Wing height just barely tall enough. NO axillary skin spillage.

    Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing

    Cups: Full coverage and seamless outer layer and lining (layer touching skin) with molded foam.
    Unpadded underwire.
    Gives a pleasantly round shape.
    Fit: Almost but not quite wide enough to contain all breast tissue, but this is a constant struggle. Smooth line on the top of the cup. Projection is average.

    Straps:
    Front is two pieces of slippery satin. Back is ordinary smooth elastic.
    Partial adjust, leotard back.
    Fit: Tend to slip due to the slippery satin. Don't think they are too far apart for my frame because they sit in the same notch as most bras.

    Fit under clothing:
    Smooth under tight tee, EXCEPT the decorative bows at the cup-strap junction.
    Not visible under v-neck.
    Wing shows under tank.

    Really nice construction, especially the band (love the little detail of the caramel lining, which shows up the black lace beautifully on the inside of the band). But this is not my size, sigh. The cups were at least one size too small (maybe two?), and the wires didn't even come close to fully encapsulating my breasts. This is advertised as a "minimizer" -- I tried it for the spacer foam. Since it was too small, I can't really say whether it minimizes or not, but the foam was more substantial than the spacer foam on my Wacoal Basic Beauty. Felt more like a padded bra in that regard.

    My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.

    I didn't like the fit on this bra because the top part cut into my breast tissue a little bit, seems too high and closed off for me. I wish it also went up a little higher in the wing. Bottom cup projection is not enough for me, so the bra doesn't stay in my IMF line and scoots down always. The wires are stiff, but wearable.

    Some positives I found: band is comfortably snug in loosest hook, straps stay in place and I can adjust them fully, gore height is low and gore width is close together so good for my center full breasts.

    Overall, I'm not keeping this bra since it cuts the top portion of my breast and doesn't have enough projection on the bottom for me.

    Though this bra was not in my recommendations, my daughter had me try it on, as it is a good diagnostic bra. I have been wearing an Olga Sheer Leaves in 40C; the gore doesn’t tack, and the back rides up, but it is comfortable. My Bratabase recommendations are for bras within the 32G - 34GG range. Since this very stretchy Chantelle band feels tight on me, I don’t think a 32 band is in the realm of possibility! The underwire digs into my armpits, especially when I sit down. I will post some pics that say a thousand words, and request fitting help.

    While I am typically a 32:8 in most bras, that didn't work for me with this bra because there was just a bit too much space in the top of the cups. The 32:7 fits more closely, though it may be a touch small in the cup. That works okay for a sports bra.

    The style and fit are very similar to the Panache Wired Sports Bra, though the Panache fit more true to size for me. As with the Panache, the Chantelle bra does a good job of encapsulating my breast tissue and keeping everything where it needs to be. It has an adjustable j-hook to convert it to a racerback. The nice thing about the j-hook is that it can be moved up/down the strap.

    I liked the Panache Wired Sports Bra better, so I'm returning this in favor of that one. However, the Chantelle is definitely a solid contender and I would consider trying it again in the future.

    They sent me the wrong size in this bra, but it was still a solid contender! Extremely supportive without being stiff and molded, which I appreciate. Lightweight and breathable, too! My one quibble is that its shaping properties come from vertical seams in the cup that were very visible under my test t-shirt. Ridges on my boobs is not a good look. But under thicker clothing, I think I’d really appreciate the lightweight shaping. This bra is a definite maybe.

    Beautiful bra which fits me very well. Gives a natural-ish but rounded, cakes in a plate shape to my fuller on bottom breasts. My breasts don't seem larger or more "in your face", just rounded and shown in a classy, discreetly sexy way. Neither markedly shallow nor markedly projected.

    Material is firmer than it looks and comfortable. The embroidery is quite beautiful and I love the opal charm. Very classy!

    Enough time and wear has passed that I know how this bra behaves when older / more worn. The band stretches but does not become floppy, so while I am now wearing it in the most inner set of hooks, it does not slide during the day. The material on the cups has deformed a little as well, and the bra is clearly ending its useful life, but I can say that this material has lasted more than other bras.

    This is both a pretty bra and a quality bra. I'll probably be looking around for more

    Immediately upon putting it on, the first impression was how easily I could hook the band on the tightest setting. Not a good way to begin.

    *Memory foam cups. Arrived incredibly crushed and wrinkled but smoothed out rather quickly. Soft and comfortable microfiber fabric. Tall and closed top edge. Not enough depth or projection. Looked like I was being cut in half. Shape was "naturally rounded". Not bowling balls. Not torpedoes. But the cups were also trying to spread everything toward my armpits, so it gave a minimized appearance.
    * As for the wires: very flexible (hence the added stretch in the band). Deep U-shape. Didn't sit properly in my ... IMF. Plus, the outer wire reached well under the middle of my arms, not at the front of my armpits where my crease naturally ends. (I could tolerated the wires if the cups had had enough upper fullness.)
    *Yes, the band is very stretchy, but also very soft and comfortable. Two layers of microfiber. No exposed elastic.
    *Fully adjustable straps. Firm stretch.
    * The gore: A little bit wide, but low enough to stay out of the way. Bottom curve is fairly open. Not narrow.

    This is my first purchase after finding my true bra size. Although I should have purchased a 30D, I went for a 32C. The band is fairly stretchy, so I see now a 30D might work after all. Unfortunately I don't think this is a good bra style for me to keep. My breasts have very little projection, so I find the cups are way too deep; I have a case of "orange in a glass" going on. You can see in my photo the cup is closed at the top, so I wouldn't recommend for tall roots.
    My breasts are also quite separated, so I find the underwire isn't wide enough for me; doesn't encompass all of my breast tissue. I purchased a 32D as well with this order, and that one is, of course, way too big.
    I purchased the Storm Blue color because it was on sale. Might have looked cuter if it actually fit me... As for quality, the fabric is nice but I do hear a bit of squeaking at the strap adjuster.

    Didn't fit

    Good: beautiful and well made like most of Chantelle; wide, comfortable and fully adjustable straps; lightweight and comfortable; wires not too rigid. Interesting back construction, with extra layer connecting to the straps.
    Not so good: everything else I look for in Chantelle, which I usually like for narrow wires and good immediate projection. In this case, I get some wrinkling at the bottom and side of the cup, and the wire feels too wide - without the cup being too large. Also, the lack of immediate projection gives a less rounded shape than I like.
    And of course, expensive, just like all of Chantelle.

    The issue with the cup/wires would not really impact wearability for me, but I do not like the shape. Back it goes.

    Fits

    Good: beautiful, elegant, well made. Feels supportive and lightweight at the same time, without making me breathless (not too firm). Wires on the narrow side, which is why I'm exploring Chantelle. Great shape, natural and rounded.
    Not so good: expensive. Straps are not elastic except for a couple of inches which is the only adjustable length - and still too long for me (should be easily remedied though).
    I think I'll keep this bra as the strap problem can be fixed, and bending the wires will probably get the gore to tack better. And I got it for half its steep price. One more reason to favour this is the ... partial band, which I normally find much more comfortable.
    Similar fit, comfort and shape to the 75H - Chantelle » Révèle Moi Perfect Fit Underwire Bra (1571) . The cup difference seems to be most evident in the outer cup, which makes very little difference to me anyway.
    Chantelle in general seem to run a little small in the band and quite small in the cup - and have a rather confusing conversion. Not easy to figure it out and hard to shop online for, especially when not all the equivalent sizes are shown.
