    Didn't fit

I got this bra pretty much knowing it wouldn't fit (I'm fuller on bottom) but wanting to try it anyway because it's GORGEOUS. The straps are digging in a bit, despite being on the tightest hook and loosened generously. I don't think this would be my ideal work bra because of that, but it will do wonderfully for around the house, shopping, visiting friends, etc... Anything that isn't wearing it for 8+ hours straight https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> The bf also really likes this bra, which is unexpected as he tends to find red lingerie cliche.

When I initially tried it on, I had gaping ... up the wazoo. Today I tried it on the tightest hooks and still have some gaping, but it's definitely at a tolerable level. I think pulling the band this tight warped the wires a little bit, which is helping me to fill out the top. On the bottom, the bigger boob fills it out perfectly while the smaller has just a touch of wrinkle there.

One last thing... the shape is REALLY super round. I feel wonderfully uplifted and... busty in this, compared to other bras I've tried which tend to be more pointy and minimized in shape.

  3. Bella Balconnet Bra (7001)

    34HH

    Didn't fit

First off, the Bella is gorgeous! The little yellow birds in the lace section are super cute and the flowery pattern and bright colors reminds me of summer and the beach. I love the design!

I'd heard Cleo bras gave an uplifted, up-front shape but WOW! It really puts everything front and center and slims out my figure under clothes. It really does give a lot of lift too, it's hard to believe this isn't a push up bra! The shape it gives is slightly pointed, but it looks like a very natural perky shape. So don't expect a perfectly round shape like some of the other Cleos give.

The ... band is a tiny bit loose on me but still firm since it doesn't ride up too much. This is because I measure for a 32 now, but when I ordered it I was very much a 34. I'd say it's an accurate 34 band, but maybe a tiny bit on the tighter side which works out perfectly for me but might require some breaking in from others.

The wires in the Bella seem very narrow and leave me with no empty space, something I thought I'd never find in a bra, so bravo Cleo! The gore doesn't lie completely flat, but that's not on the bra itself, my breasts are very close together and nothing short of a plunge lies absolutely flat on my sternum. I always have a little pucker where it curves outward slightly. It's not for lack of trying though, the wires in the gore aren't spaced out very much at all and are actually some of the closer ones I've seen.

I do get a slight quad-boob effect if I take very deep breaths or slouch, but it's very much minimal. This is likely from my more "well rounded" shape, I'm neither full on top or bottom. I really don't think it's something that going up a cupsize would resolve, the Bella has a pretty closed of top section from the stitching in the lace on the top of the cups.

Like most bras on me, the straps are too far apart, but this one isn't as bad of an offender as the Bravissimo Satine Floral Bra (LN119) was. That one's straps wants to end up under my armpits, the Bella only seems to be about an inch or so too far apart, so I'm not constantly worried about having to pull my straps back up. Still annoying, but better than my other bras are.

In all, I have a couple issues with the Bella, but the great far outweighs the slight annoyances. I very much recommend this bra, but I'd advise ladies with Full on Top shapes to try and find a place to try this one on. It seems very suited for Full on Bottom types.

    EDIT:

After wearing it for a few more hours the gore progressively got further away from my sternum and started rubbing and leaving red marks on my cleavage. Adjusting the band to the tightest hook resolved the issue so I've decided to exchange it for a 32J and see if that's any better.

This a very lovely bra - pretty style, colour and shape. However, the wires just run too wide for me and, in my size (28HH/J), this is common occurrence due to pattern grading. The wires ran quite far behind my armpit and therefore left creasing under the cup, leaving me unsupported. Somehow, despite measuring as a true 28inch, the Marcie bra band has expanded to 30inch in just a few months so it is now worn on the tightest clasp. Not sure why this happened.

I would say that this bra runs true in the cup and band. I fitted the cups well as I am quite balanced in ... breast shapes, although I need a good 'swoop and scoop' to get into this bra. The Marcie probably not suitable for a "full on the bottom" breast types either. Also, if suit plunges because you have a lot of breast tissue near the gore, I would not recommended this to you either. Despite keeping and wearing the bra as it is the best I have at the moment, the gore is very narrow, painful and a bit high for me.

    Didn't fit

I should say it doesn't fit; the cups are small, and if I lean over I definitely get a quadboob! But it still gives me good cleavage, and it was soooo pretty and they did not have a 34GG or 32H in stock (I bought this set while travelling in the US, far away from my beloved Bravissimo stores).
The band is quite firm, so I'm not sure a 32 was necessary here, but I would have sized up in the cups if I could have.

    Didn't fit

After trying the Meg in 28E, I had such high hopes for the 28F. The 28E cut into the top of my boobs and prominently displayed my armpit fat. Since I love the bird print of this bra, I was hoping the 28F would be perfect. The wires are wide enough for me, but there are a whole host of other issues.

The 28F still manages to cut into the tops of my boobs. As an added bonus, my smaller boob can't fill out the top of the cup, causing some wrinkling. Perhaps if the bra were made of softer material, it could be ok. But, the fabric is pretty stiff (not uncomfortably), so it's not as forgiving.

  8. Juna Balconnet Bra (6461)

This is my all-time favorite bra so far. It fits perfectly. There is no quad-boob, no gap, no wrinkling, and minimal armpit flab. I actually wouldn't mind if the wings were a bit taller, but they do a fair job of holding my armpit flab in. Initially, I was wary of the wires coming up higher at the gore than the 28E, but after some wire-bending, I don't feel a thing. The Juna is a wonderful basic bra.

    Didn't fit

So, this bra is about 2 cups larger than the Cacique bras I own, according to the bra size chart. However, being full on top, I had some serious gaping at the top of this cup on both sides. Usually my larger side has quad-boob and the other side is wrinkling. This bra comes up very high in the gore and presses very painfully after just a little time of wear. The wires do not fully encase my breast tissue. I have "on the side" breasts and I need a bra to help bring that tissue over to the front, this bra's wire were cutting into my sides quite painfully. I took my Cacique bra in a 38F and put it with this one and the Cacique bra is about 1.5 inches wider on the side. Weird.

    28H

    Didn't fit

I am very prone to back pain from bands being either too loose or digging in from being too thin, so I've been desperately searching for a longline bra. Being a 28GG/H, I'm sized out of the Freya longlines, which leaves this as the only longline bra sold in my size. By the time I discovered it, it had been sold out almost everywhere, but a user was selling a 28H on here, so I pounced.

Unfortunately, the fit, construction and appearance all leave a lot to be desired. The bra is a bizarre orange and grey plaid, which would almost give a sort of ... cutesy retro kitsch bustier top look, had it not been paired with Barbie pink lace straps and back hooks. I knew all this before buying it, and it would have been a small price to pay, had the bra actually fit and flattered well.

My first grievance, on trying the bra on, was discovering that the lace was the same construction as the Cleo Juna, that is to say, it is intended to be loose and fluttery. I don't know what exec at Panache ever thought that was a good idea, but they should be fired. Loose Barbie pink lace? Seriously? It shows through every shirt, and makes the bra look like it fits far more poorly than it actually does
    .
The second thing to catch my attention was a very poorly thought out tiny piece of flexible plastic boning under each cup. This boning was only about 1.5" long, and ran from the bottom of the underwire down to the stiff elastic at the bottom of the band, but did not intersect the elastic. Every time I would bend over, breathe in or move, these little pieces of boning would bend or move around in their casings, and then snap back painfully. I am speaking here in the past tense, because I wore the bra for a grand total of 10 minutes before cutting out the offending boning. The longer side boning is actually very nice and definitely helps to stabilize the band

Once I cut out the front boning, the bra became significantly more comfortable. Unfortunately, the removal of the most obvious fit problem allowed be to see all the other ones. The reviews I read said that the band ran quite tight. However, when I received the bra, I discovered that the actual fit of the band is rather more problematic than simply being tight. The BOTTOM of the band is indeed quite tight, but the top of the band, directly underneath the cups, actually runs true to size or even a bit loose. Basically, it is made for a very triangular shaped ribcage, which mine is not. The practical implication is that while the bottom of the band is quite tight and has a tendency to want to sit lower on my ribcage than it should, the top of the band is just hanging there. The shallow cups get pushed out by my not-shallow boobs, and the cups end up just floating, and eventually just collapsing downwards. The cups floating issue is made worse by the too-far-apart strap placement - I have broad shoulders, so the straps don't fall down, but they are places so far out on the cups that there is nothing holding the middle of the cups in place, hastening the collapse and drop of the top of the band.

I've now worn this bra 4 times. I'm even more convinced that I want a longline bra, but I'm increasingly certain that this bra is not the longline bra for me. Because I've now cut out the boning, it's unlikely I will be able to resell this bra for much, which is unfortunate, because it would need major surgery to suit my shape properly.

Leedlebra I have been searching and searching and searching for reviews of the Sadie, and this sounds perfect for me (I'm high-set to the point my back is very, very v-shaped). I understand you've cut out front boning, but is there a price you'd be willing to part with it for? I'm dying to have one, but I can't afford the $80 new it costs to get one in Australia (given I can find my size).

    • bralesque - I would be more than happy to pass on the Sadie to someone who it would fit better. It is very solidly constructed, and I can see how it would be a great bra, it's just not right at all for my shape. I will send you a private message :)

The fit on this one was much better than for the 32E, but the straps still rub. I tried letting them out pretty far and tightening them up really well, but there was still some rubbing. It's unfortunate because the bra is very cute.

This bra was very comfortable and quite pretty, but was just a touch too small. Apparently, it is designed so that the lace doesn't lay flat when it is fitting correctly, which confused me. Also, this is a poor design choice. I'm going to try the next size up and see if that helps.

See my reviews of the Brooke in 30C and 28D. I really like this bra, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it again https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />. It's a good bra for people with wide root shallow breasts.
I bought this when my other Brookes eventually became too small. As I'm between sizes in the newer unpadded Cleos, it seemed a good idea to order a Brooke in the smaller of my sizes, because its cups run fairly big and open at the top. This has worked fine for me.

This bra fit beautifully in the band and straps, it felt very supportive. I also love the color and the lace. However, while I filled out the bottom of the cups just fine, the top gaped something awful. I'm exchanging for a 38FF, so I'll see if that fits any better,

Another Cleo that I want to work, but won't. It's a sister size and needs alterations to a tighter band. The shape is gorgeous, round & lifted. I love the shape, it is my idea shape in an unpadded bra. I don't love the wire width, it's just too wide for me. I also don't like that I have some shifting in the cups that cause some wrinkling. That is part of not having an ideal fit. I find this bra to be comfortable even with out an ideal fit.
