Cleo Marcie is a great stepping stone for me in terms of finding a great fitting bra. It gives a nice lift and a rounded shape that I have been hoping for. I do have some slight issues with the gore and the sides of the bra. For the former, the gore does ride up a bit when I move around. It may be because I have a more narrower "boob valley"....but I also can't deny that I do get sweaty quite easily (especially since it's summer right now). You can say it's partially my fault too. For the latter, I do think I need a longer underwire ... to capture whatever escapes near my armpit. Maybe it's just an insecurity for me because it's a natural part of my body (since I'm quite pudgy at the moment). Anyway, Cleo Marcie is a great bra for me. No wrinkling seen anyway. And I have no issues with the straps falling down.

Some hindsight, I am even for my right breast but my left leans on the FoT-shape. I do have tall roots, which I think why this bra really works for me. I am quite pendulous and I have uneven sizes. My left is a bit bigger than the right. Also, what's great about the Marcie is that it truly lifts up my boobs. I have them quite low on the chest so the lift it gives me tears me up in happiness. I also love how it's giving me centred lift. I have my babies naturally pointing to east and west so it's another praise for this bra.

I do hope to fine a lined/panned version of this bra as I hope to have something a bit more substantial to wear while at work. The unlined nature of the bra does worry me in terms of stretching despite of its good structure.

edit: after years of unnotice, I am actually FoT-shaped on my left and that it is the bigger side. Duly corrected by Mar. 2019

The underwires on this bra are wide, and the cups are shallow, both of which made it a good fit for me. It also produces a noticeably lifted and rounded shape, which I was thrilled by!

Even though it's marketed as a T-shirt bra, the combination of thick padding and the lacy detail on the upper edge of the cups means that it doesn't really give a smooth appearance under thin or form-fitting tops, but works well under thicker or more structured tops. The only feature that I wasn't entirely happy with were the straps, which are very wide set.

Projected, Even/FOT, Close set, Usually 30g/32ff

Straps are wider than usual Cleo bras. This model also has thicker cotton-y feeling lace. Extremely comfy. The band doesn't have much stretch in itself, which will probably help it last longer. The cups feel like there's less volume than my 30G Cleos.

Wires lay on tissue, still wearable, but start hurting after a few hours. I suppose I could sew a dart at the gore, but it wouldn't look as nice. Give rounded/forward projection but Marcie is still a bit more forward/has closer set ups.

Not good for FOT, with no stretch on top. I spill out slightly on the bigger side. The tall sides help with containing tissue on the side which I like, except when I do a lot of arm movements; then I can feel the fabric scratch under the armpit.

Overall, I like this model as much as Marcie. Just wish the cups weren't closed on top, and the wires were closer.

I quite like this bra. It's pretty comfortable and the fit is good, except for the wires being a bit wider than I need and the gore is a bit stabby. It also provides decent support for such a thin, lacy bra. As others have said, this is a great choice for short, FOB breasts. I have little to no upper fullness and this fits snugly all over and gives a great rounded shape. The profile I get is similar to the 28G Marcie I tried on in a boutique, but this closes off better on top. The band is snug for a 28, which I prefer, and I like the colour and aesthetics of the bra. It does, however, seem to showcase my asymmetry more than most bras.

    • I might have to give Lucy another try. When I tried it a couple years back, it was the wrong size, and I didn't get a great fit. This one looks like it fits nicely... maybe worth another try for me.

    • I saw that you added this and pictures and have been waiting on you to review it. I’m glad that you like it. Gives me hope about the size and fit though I had been under the impression that the Lucy bands were stretchier than the Kali, but both of yours look like they’re tight. I probably need a 30FF if you aren’t getting to 28” stretched.

    • The colour and fit on this bra are beautiful! Its good to hear that you got a firm band. I may have to give cleo another try. My last 28 band from them (Skye) was super stretchy

    • Thanks, all. I got this from Your Bra Store in Canada for $20 Canadian, so it's definitely a win. I love the super rounded look it gives. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't work for even or FOT breasts.

    • It’s weird. It’s listed as still being available on the drop down menu of sizes, but as soon as you select it, it says sold out (in this size). I’m glad that I didn’t get this one now because it would have been too tight. Plus it’s fantastic on you.

    • Thanks, Calluna. Yep, this is tight for a 28 band. Do they have it in a 30FF?

    • No they don’t. But I have found a parrot print Lily in 28G that’s tts that I am figuring out how to get.

    • Ooh, that sounds cute.

    • It is. I have wanted a parrot print Lily forever. I am just worried about it stretching to 28” which is the same as my under bust. I can use an extender, but then worry that it will skew the fit of the 10” deep cups. I am thinking about it seriously if I can come up with some money for it.

    Navy bird print.
This is a tricky fit; I would only buy it at retail if it was free to ship returns. I have it in a 30H, and the fit was perfection until I gained a few pounds and it became too tight everywhere. I thought sizing up to the 32H would be just the ticket.
It's not horrible but it's not nearly as good. I have the slight bit of extra fabric (where the seams meet at the apex) that so many other reviews noted but the rest of the cup fits fine.
It seems the wires are wider (I need to input measurements for both) than necessary and 2 hooks feels inadequate now.
Update 12/2018: The 32H fits fine these days.

Well, it's a nice looking bra, and the alterations done by the last owner are good, but sadly it just doesn't have enough cup for me and rests painfully on my ribs
This bra's measurements have been altered
Altered band, stitched thick leather to all underwire ends (at center gore and at wings)--am experiment to prevent painful digging/distribute pressure. Hand stitched a shortened band and decorative topstitching (by hand)

    Hasn't set fit

Backlog from my bra fitting early this year in January...

It was not my favourite colour combination, but I'd wanted to try it for the style because it looked like a lighter and softer version of the Deco.

This 30E was borderline small at the time. The fitter said she did not like the fit on me, and mentioned something about the neckline. I dunno...I thought it looked fine. I later tried a 30F (no pics) and it was better, though still shallow and potentially would slip out of my IMF.

To be honest, I do still like this style on me, But not the colourway. I love ... the thistle and some of the other ones. I was offered a 30FF thistle recently when I grew more, but it said that the wires were 6" wide, so that's a no go. The 30F was fine though...

Anyway, none of the backlogs I'm putting up have measurements. Just pics and my memories. They've been sitting on my phone all year so I thought I would upload so I still had them, but not on my phone anymore.

    • If you liked this one you may want to try Panache Porcelain Grace Sweetheart Moulded Bra (7371) at some point in your journey . It's moulded yes, but it still has enough projection for me. This koko reminds me of the one I have.

  8. Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831)

I just got this bra in the mail today and it fits reasonably well (much better than the Panache Jasmines that were my first foray into bras that were my correct size and I've stuck with them because I had a good source for them. I don't have the money or energy to try ordering from Poland). Immediate projection is better than I expected but still not quite enough for the gore to sit flat, and the straps are set basically under my arm in the front so they cut into my armpit a bit. Still keeping it though, because the wire width is perfect, even though I ... could use a smidge more projection or maybe a larger cup.

I bought two of them and one of them has smaller cups than the other, which seems to exacerbate the strap placement issue. I'm losing weight, though, so we'll see how it goes.

Edited later to add that after losing weight, the strap situation is indeed much better, but something about the nubs on the elastic on the straps and on the bottom of the band still does get irritating, especially after you've had it on for a few hours. I still love the way I look in it, though.

The Cleo Kayla is pretty and comfortable, like any good bra. The tartan/checker pattern isn't entirely my thing, but it looks so cute with the matching brief that I'd wear it anyway.

What's sad is that this bra didn't fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> In a 30F, it seems to run big in both the band and the cup. It actually fits my larger breast near perfect, but there's gapping and wrinkling in both cups to a certain degree. The issue is that the band rides up immediately when on the tightest hook :/ The stretchy alce in the top of the cup would be perfect if the band weren't disappearing up my back.

The fabric is still soft and fairly comfortable, even the cup fabric is nice and soft and not stiff mesh like many other bras.
It's a little difficult to review a bra that doesn't fit, and that I'm not able to comfortably wear.

Wow, that depth is crazy! I can do that band measurement but not almost 11" of depth. This bra has held my curiosity for a while. Unless I put on more weight, this is telling me that I really need to size down on the cups. It's such a beautiful bra, and I can imagine how cute it is with the matching bottoms. Thanks for the great review!

    • 1

I was told Kayla and Jasmine are similar and yea, in these photos and the way you describe it it does look like they're very similar.

    • Calluna It's super cute yeah! I'd say the depth is too much even for me, but I think it's just this bra specifically.
brasaremean Yeah they're very similar in structure and style, but the Jasmine doens't really run big or small in the cups like this one - in my experience. The Jasmine is an old favorite of mine, the fit continues to be great! This particular bra ran big in the cup and band though, and my 30E Jasmine seems to either run big in the band or stretched out too fast because I can't comfortably wear it. I have a 30F Mosaic Jasmine that fits wonderfully though, so it could have been the black/floral colorway that's extra stretchy. That's been known to happen to certain bras and their colors, one color is smaller in the cups than another.

My shape: narrow, projected/very projected, tall roots, even to F.O.T.

This bra: I got this in the wine colourway, it's a very pretty, raspberry-ish tone. Fit wise it's lovely, the cups enclose my breast tissue fully, while the side slings push everything forward and out of my armpits. There's plenty of immediate and apex depth. The cups do close off, so if you are F.O.T. you may get cutting in. I'm even to F.O.T., and can only just get away with not quadding. The underband is thick and firm, but comfortable and soft. It does not ride up or fold during wear, and gives a lot of lift. I ... get a natural but supported profile in this bra.

Appearance-wise: the geometric lace and thick underband stop Lyzy from being too girly, the overall look is fresh and cool. The cups are lined with a light beige fabric (a nude tone for pale caucasians) and if you are darker skinned I'd guess it would stand out from your skin, so if you don't want a two-tone bra I'd avoid. (This design aspect is quite irritating to me, as a lining in the same colour or slightly lighter/darker than the wine colour of the bralette would work just as well.)

This is my first bra-sized bralette and I'm glad I took the plunge, it fits so much better than S/M/L bralettes, giving me decent coverage and support.

I have been waiting to hear about this bralette! You have convinced me to try it. so excited!

    • It's so nice! I was uncertain about it but it fits and lifts really well :)

    • Ahh the Cleo Lyzy! I'm so glad you wrote this review, it sounds so comfy! I've been wanting to try this one since I saw it in the Panache SS catalogue. How are the cups split? How does the gore look/function?

    • 1

The cups are three-part triangle and completely attached below the bow (at the gore). There's not much space in the cups at the gore area, which forces my boobs to stay separate (I'm fairly close set but don't get mono-boob in Lyzy). On me the gore sits about 1.5" away from my chest, but I'm a big 30DD/small 30E, so it would probably sit closer on most people. If you're centre-full it might cut in a bit there - I'm assuming the lack of centre volume is to get separation without wires.

My shape: narrow, projected/very projected, tall roots, even to F.O.T.

I ordered this bra because I read here that it's a similar fit to Kayla, so I felt fairly confident it would fit me well. It's less deep overall than Kayla, but the stretch lace top means that's not a problem for me. The wires are nicely narrow, there's oodles of immediate and apex depth, and I even get some slight cakes-on-a-plate cleavage (rare for my tall rooted boobs). The profile on me is less forward than Kayla, which makes sense given that Hettie's less deep. The look is more softly rounded (though still very round).

The band on this ... particular bra runs small - the wires are distorted at a 29" stretch, so I'll be wearing it with an extender until it gives some.

Appearance-wise, this bra (animal abstract print) is lovely - it's dark enough to work as a black bra, but the flashes of deep blues and greens under the lace mesh make it more interesting. The lace that the upper section of cups is made from is nice too - it's less delicate looking than most laces, with no flowery shapes. I'd say it nods in the direction of sports luxe.

The cups are lined with a silky fabric, making this a very comfy bra, too.

My shape: narrow/average root width, tall roots, projected/very projected, immediate projection, even fullness.

This bra is only *just* deep enough in the cups for me, and I suspect that post-ovulation it will be too small. I think it is somewhat flatter than Cleo Blake and Kayla, especially the top section. It is narrow/average width. On me, it gives me a naturally rounded, low, slightly minimised shape - a 'my boobs but better' kinda shape. I'm interested to compare this one to the blue colourway, to see if the blue is any deeper. As it is, this is not my favourite bra (maybe it slightly squashes me?) but it is ... comfortable, and a good option for me to wear under shirts that otherwise strain at the chest or on smaller days. I bought it because I heard it is a deep-cupped bra, and I'd say that's true.

The cups are tall, but I wouldn't recommend this one for anyone with upper-fullness due to the flatness described above (the cups don't close particularly, but rather slowly lose depth above the apex, and are firm enough to squish). Do recommend to tall rooted people though, there's a good chance that it'll fit like it does on me. The band is firm in the lilac colourway.

The design of this bra is lovely - the lilac, neon pink and yellow are an unusual colour combination and the lace is pretty. It sorta makes me think of sports luxe. The pink especially is a wee bit bright for me, but I'm pale AF. On darker skinned people I imagine it would look A+. The purple is deeper/darker than Cleo's promotional pictures show, not at all pastel in tone.

    • I've got the two colours at home. The blue looks just a little bit lighter but I think that's because it's brighter than the purple. The yellow and red accents are bright, but not really neon like the purple version. I just uploaded a photo of the blue next to the purple to show the difference.

    • The blue one is so cute, I’m always hunting for it at a decent price in my size! The purple is so much more neon than stock pics suggest but I’ve co w to adore it too, and the slightly minimised look I get in it, it’s a bra I ofte wear when I’m feeling particularly cheerful lol!

    • 1

I love the colours so much too ! All my favourite colours in these two bras. And I haven't found a better shape than this.
I just got the blue for £17 on Bravissimo. It's on sale right now and they have 30DD too. But it's only visible if you search by size. I couldn't find it any other way.

    • Ace, I've ordered it. Thanks for the tip! Does Skye run maybe half a cup big in your size? Any other styles you've tried that worked? I need ultra projected 30DDs (or 30DDs that most people find 'run large'), Cleo Skye and Kayla are my best fits, Hettie is decent, Blake cuts in a wee bit but I love it and it has all the depth I need.

    • I'd say it runs a bit big for its cup size, yes, but I'm extremely projected and close to the upper limit for my cup size so it fits very well. I've got a 34D and a 32DD and the 32DD is a little bit shallower, 34D is perfect.
This is my first Cleo so I haven't tried any other yet. I like the style of Kayla, Lily and Blake. Lily looks a little bit shallower and Kayla too FoT for me from reviews, so I don't know.

My shape: narrow/average root width, tall roots, projected/very projected, immediate projection, even fullness.

The cups on this bra are an excellent fit on me - they are narrow and deep (very deep!) where I need it, while the stretch lace top works well with my tall roots. These days I'm neither as soft nor as shallow above the apex as I used to be; if I were, I would not be able to fill out the lace top of this bra. So if you have tall, shallow roots, or are FOB, I'd skip this one.

I get a very forward projecting, round shape in this bra which I *love*.

The ... band is too big (I'm a solid 30 back these days), but I got Kayla in a 32 for less than £10 new on Amazon so I'm not fussed. At some point I'll take it to a tailor and have the band shortened, but given that I'm small busted this is not a priority.

I bought this bra because I heard that the cups are similar to Cleo Blake (my best fit, and first perfect fit). Previously I had been buying 28F/30E in shallower cuts, but I tried Cleo Blake on a whim in a 30DD and its fit on me made me realise I am a projected/very projected 30DD. Kayla is deeper and narrower than Blake, and that I fill it perfectly confirms my suspicions.

Appearance-wise Kayla is cute. I have the white abstract print with white and purple lace, it's a little loud for my usual tastes but the classic Cleo details make it more fun than fussy - neon pink scalloping and hooks, purple sliders, purple bow at gore and purple thread through the lace. Given how comfortable it is and how good it makes me feel, I'd wear regardless of appearance. Definitely a new favourite.

I think this bra would fit pretty well in a 28G. It's not the softest bra ever, but otherwise pretty comfy. It seems well suited to short FOB breasts. The wires are a bit too wide, though. I also get lots of bounce and jiggle. I like that it's pretty, the band is snug, and that it feels light.

    • Looks great. Maybe it just feels jiggly because the cups are too small and your tissue gets squeezed out on top?

I creeped your profile and saw that you also have 28E Cleo Kali. Did your measurements change a lot or does it still fit? I'm just curious because I heard that this one is similar to the Kali and it looks like 3 sizes smaller.

    • 1

Thanks, aboobaccount. Yes, my measurements have changed a lot. I was a bit underweight then (5'5" and 105 pounds). I am about 20 or so pounds heavier now, which is 5-10 pounds more than I would like to be.

    • The G would probably fit you perfectly! And I agree with aboobacount that if you go up a cup the jiggly feeling would probably go away.

I totally feel you on the weight thing (i've had alot of weight issues in my past, but I don't want to go on about that!!), but you look beautiful. I am 5 feet even and about 110 pounds and wish I looked any where near as gorgeous as you. ^.^

    • Thanks, LeProfessor- you are so kind. :) I will keep an eye out for the 28G to come on sale on Amazon. And you look amazing!!

    • I’m contemplating a 28G in this myself right now. I saw Amazon had the white one on for $30-something the other night. Might still be available for sale.

    Didn't fit

Band was really stretchy and I could almost fit my hand underneath it while wearing it on the first set of hooks. Cups had a lot of space at the top, probably due to my breast shape. However, the gap was quite severe so it might be partially due to this bra cups running large, as other reviews have stated. I'm still trying to figure out what styles/size is best for me, but unfortunately this one did not fit. Hoping to get it right, as this bra is beautiful! Love the pink lace around the cup

Still trying to find my proper size. Got this bra here on bratabase as an experiment. What a great way to try a different bra that didn't work out for someone else.

Generally, I think the cups are too small for me. Not sure what band to get our how many cup sizes to go up.

It's my go-to bra right now as my body is changing so rapidly. Sure, it's too shallow, sure it's way too wide, but it doesn't hurt me. So pah!!

    30G

    Fits

Sister sized up to 30G because it was not available at the deeply discounted price in my usual size in a Cleo 28GG
Short roots, functionally full on bottom , although probably in my more perky days even. Very center full and require a lot of immediate projection.
Pleasantly surprised how well this bra fits, great on immediate projection and center full accommodation. Gore actually sits perfectly flat which never happens with me. One of my best fits.
Lace is very soft and so bra provides okay lift now, but not as front and center as so many Cleos

Shape is a natural shape and make me look a little smaller. Band width in 30 is okay now.
This bra doesn't seem quite up to the quality of most Cleos. Okay though because I got it at a bargain price.

The Great Amazon Prime Wardrobe Try-On, Pt 2!
My shape: FOB, narrow roots/shoulders, soft tissue, 32G (though I'm thinking maybe more 30G since a lot of these 32 bands are too stretchy for me!)
Fit: I just do not have luck with Cleo bras. I tried this in a 32G my last prime Wardrobe order, and it fit too loose in the band. So I sister-sized down to a 30GG, and the band is ok, but the wires are REALLY WIDE. Seems weird that there is such a difference in wire width for such a close size.
Appearance: Cute black bra! I like the looks of all of the Cleos I have tried. They have good color schemes and laces.
Overall: I think I'm finished with trying to make Cleo bras work for me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    • Did this feel wider than the Wacoal Retro Chic? Retro has a slightly wider wire. I wore a Freya that was super wide, but the wire measurement was more narrow that several bras. Maybe the band was pulled tighter. Weird.

    • WAY wider. The Retro Chic didn't feel that wide to me at all. I did only wear the bras for, at the longest, ten minutes, since it was more of a try-on thing. So maybe that's why?
