With the "good enough" fit I got from the Cleo Jude in Plum/Coral, I needed a more invisible t-shirt bra to go under light colored tops. This bra seems to work well with full on bottom / not much on top shape - which is me. I was annoyed that the nude bra had pink trim, but IRL the pink is so subtle it looks white in most lighting. Disappears nicely under light tops.

    First thoughts:

Tons of buckling on the bottom of the cups, while I bubble out the top somewhat-to-significantly, depending on how I adjust myself. I would want to try it in a smaller cup just to see how the buckling works, but I'm sure it would just exasperate the doubleboob (quadboob).

The band is too loose; I have it on the tightest pair of hooks, and would probably benefit from a 28.

I like it's plunginess and the low gore. I always have the gore squishing down an some breast and separating them further than they really want to go. My breasts are not all that close or all that far ... either, I don't really know what their issue is, but it's nice not having gore marks on the breast tissue.

It gives me somewhat of a purple shape, even though it is a green cut. It's not good nor bad, just... eh. I feel like the apex of the cup is too far from the apex of my breasts, and, coupled with the bubbling, they feel like they're heading NW and NE.

The very top of the cups (near the straps) is empty, but that's just how it is when a cup doesn't match your shape and vice versa.

The wires seem fine, the straps seem fine, the height under the arms seems a little taller than my other bras, but I like it.

I like the colors. The floral lace with the stars seems kinda weird, but meh. The fabric is fun to touch; it's all stretchy and thin.

The Cleo Meg is the best not-quite-fitting bra I own. I put it in the "not-quite-fitting" category because it's made for someone more heavy on top than I am. It's clear even in this front view shot that there's some gaping going on at the top of the cup of my smaller breast (my left one). But this slight gaping doesn't compromise its support or the way it looks under clothing.

So I'm extremely happy to keep it. The print is gorgeous. I can't believe I didn't find it attractive the first time I saw it in pictures. I wish Cleo would make bras in more prints of ... this type instead of going with dots or other prints that are not as elegant as this one.

Band is very true-to-size and perfectly snug and comfy on the first hook.

To reduce the gaping of the left cup, I have to shorten the left strap quite a bit more than the right one. It's the first time I have to do this to that extent but it works for me.

Placement is good and they're fully adjustable.

I love the red accents! It goes so well with the midnight blue and it gives the bra a little something extra.

    Full review on my blog.

I purchased this bra to see how it fit compared to a 28E that I bought which ended up being too small and had the typical Jude characteristics. This bra had a lot of extra room, mostly projection-wise and near the bottom of the cups. The cups also came up much higher on my chest, which was really uncomfortable. I felt really constricted in it. The cup width was also pretty wide. This bra in no way worked for me, so back it went.

I have this bra in Candy Pink and Aquamarine; much to my surprise it fits and fits well!. It has wide underwires and fits FAR under my arms, but I like it. I was nervous because it's unlined and sheer but I find it very supportive. The straps don't slip at all. This bra taught me that it really is the band that gives the support. I've never worn an unlined bra ever, and it pleases me that I like this one so much!!

The gore lies flat, the straps are a good width. Like I said, the underwires go pretty far under ... my arms but that gives me a feeling of security and is not uncomfortable in any way. The band is not as snug as some others but I also think I have a tendency to wear my band too low on my back, maybe a habit from all those years wearing a band that was too big.

But I have joined the Marcie bandwagon, for sure! I think I should have gone with the F instead of FF cup due to not being able to quite fill it up top but I call this one a win. I was surprised the 32 band felt good since in many bras it is the 30 band I prefer. I'm thinking that as I adjust to properly-fitting bras, I'll be able to fill out the cup all the way.

  6. Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831)

I am sized at a 28D/DD. I tried this bra in both a 28D and a 28DD, and the 28D was too small for me. It gives a great round shape for my shallow and conical breasts. It also gathers them together and aims them forward.

The lacy upper section and the seams are slightly visible through thin, tight knits, but this bra gives a great shape and it almost invisible under looser, thicker knits. The wires are very comfortable for me, and the thin fabric doesn't show my nipples but is also breathable and very comfortable.

I would highly recommend this bra as a first-try unlined bra for shallow, conical breasts. I do not have much upper fullness without a bra, but this bra still fits me very well.

I got this on a super sale, and it has an orange bow, so I couldn't pass it up. Although I usually wear 30F/ 32E/ 34DD, I thought I'd try ordering this 34E online since it was on sale.
The lace of this bra gaps only slightly more when I lean forward than the 30F (I have the 30F in pink and white), and had less in-cup quadboob. The gaping lace doesn't show under a shirt. I think this is going to become my official Monday morning (& Ash Wednesday) bra; a safe choice after a weekend of heat, salty foods, and margaritas when everything else is too tight.

The material is sheer but also quite stiff, so I wouldn't worry about wearing it under a thin shirt unless it were white. It's an older model so the hooks are rounded instead of squared like newer Cleos, and I like that it's unique in my collection. The embroidery is very intricate along the top of the cups and the middle of the band. I'm not a fan of the flowery embellishments along the band, but they were easily removed without leaving a hole or anything. The band is quite firm, comparable to the band of the Cleo Marcie (6831) (28E, I'm not sure how comparable ... they are in bigger bands). It produces a round, lifted shape. It's made for projected shapes, so on my tall/shallow boobs, it cuts in at the top and wrinkles along the diagonal seam, producing the notorious "George fold."

I made it fit by sewing down the fold to make the cups more open on top. This reduced the depth at the top of the cup. The rest fits great. I would recommend this alteration to any shallow ladies out there. It reshapes the cups to fit like Cleo Juna (6461).

    28E

    Didn't fit

This bra fits me nicely in the 30DD size, so I thought I would try sister-sizing into the 28E. Unfortunately, it does not fit nearly as well. The band is comfortable, and the wires seem to be a perfect width. Yet the lace at the top edge of the cups cuts into my breast tissue. There is a little bit of wrinkling/empty space in the top of the cup on my smaller side, which combined with the quad-ing leads me to believe this is cut for someone with a little more projection than me. The wires are a tad too short (I have ... the same problem in the 30DD), but they're still better than nearly every other bra I've tried.
Edit: After comparing this bra's fit side by side with my Lucy 30DD, it seems as though the 28E magnifies all the minor fit/form issues of the 30DD. In the 30DD, the lace edge cuts in ever so slightly, and is only noticeable when I deeply inhale. So for some reason the 30DD accommodates my shallowness and gives a fit I'm satisfied with, while the 28E does not. I'm not sure if this is an issue of sizing, scaling, or if it could just be variances within the different bra colors. I have the 30DD in both pink and black. This 28E is in the white color, and I may reorder a white 30DD just to compare.

This bra is much maligned, but I really like it for my wide-set, FOB breasts. The molded cups are very rounded, and on my petite frame, they end up a little splayed, but that fits the natural curvature of my breasts. I am very slightly shallow, and this bra comes close to cutting into my upper breast tissue because it curves in so drastically at the top edge. However, this prevents any gapping when I bend over, and this works for me. You might try this bra if your breasts are FOB, splayed, and wide-set without a significant amount of tissue spread above your upper ribcage.

I love this bra for t-shirts, and I kind of want one in every color now!

This bra is adorable and makes me feel so ... round! So perky! I love it. I wear it for events where I'm dancing in a bra. Unfortunately, the underwire is really thick and stiff, so it digs into my sides as well as at the gore. I can't wear it for too long, even though my tits look fantastic in it, because I get uncomfortable red imprints at the ends of the underwire. I would recommend this bra if you just want your tits to look amazing and feel incredibly well-supported for a short period of time, and don't mind cutting off your circulation in the skin ... at your armpits and your sternum.

Update after some time: Another drawback to this bra, again emphasizing that it's adorable and your boobies will look amazing, is that it does wear hard! Those nights of dancing in my bra are starting to show after only a few months. The dye is starting to wear off around the underwire and where the seams rub against my skin and the band, originally almost too tight at its largest hooks, is already more comfortable at its second and can even be worn comfortably on its tightest hook.

I had to use an extender for the first couple of wears, but it "broke in" to a good point for me and has stayed there for several months now of wearing it about twice a week. The top section of the bra only sits flat if I keep my shoulders all the way back, but I still like the shape it gives me (nicely lifted and forward). I feel very supported and secure in this bra, and it's just beautiful on top of that. The center gore is pretty high but narrow, and I like that.

I got this bra knowing that is the same cut as the Cleo Melissa, which fits me like a dream. The top edge of the Bella is a little bit more closed off, so it is more prone to slight wrinkling/cutting in when I breathe deeply or move around, but it is a perfect fit when I am standing straight, and the wrinkling/tightness is not noticeable through clothing.

Like all Cleo bras I have tried, this one is beautifully made and detailed - reinforced seaming, padded straps, unique trims. Panache does not skimp on quality, even for their juniors line. The band is nice and firm and seems like it will keep it's shape. The cups give a great rounded and projected shape.

The wire channels are a little too long for the wires, and sometimes I can feel the wire through the channel, so I might sew them in place and add some moleskin pads.

This is a really great everyday bra, and it is pretty and functional. It is a two part construction seamed balconette bra with light padding. It provides nipple coverage. The seams do not show as much as I thought they would, and they are unnoticeable under a patterned shirt. The seams are more apparent under light colored solid shirts.

The lace does not lay perfectly flat when a proper fit is achieved. I got out a needle and thread and hand tacked the lace down to my liking, however my picture on Bratabase is before I altered the lace.

The band is stretchy. It stretched an inch longer (33" on a 32 band) when I bought it new.

The cups are shallow and open on top. Good for shallow breasts, even breasts and full on top breasts, in my opinion.

My one complaint about Cleo and Panache bras is that the straps are not long enough to use a racerback clip, and may be problematic for someone with a long torso or low set breasts.

The lace laid flat (not a good sign with the Cleo Juna (6461) models), and I had an orange-in-a-glass effect. The wires were really wide, and squeaked when I moved. The straps were also very wide set, and I din't really like the shape it gave me underneath clothes; the seams really showed. I returned it in the end.

The cups were too small, I had major quad boob all over. My armpit tissue wasn't contained at all, and I quickly leaked out after Scoop&Swooping. The wires were wide, and band was also really loose. I ordered it in Hawaiian Blue, a lovely colourway. In the end I returned the bra, as it was simply too small.
