I initially tried on and purchased the Cleo Juna in 36GG, but came to find the band loose and cup small. When I found the 34H and 36H on sale on Amazon a few weeks later, I bought them both to try and ended up keeping each one for different reasons.
This one, the 34H, fit the best in the band out of any of the Junas I had tried. It was firm, comfortable, and held my underwires in place. Unfortunately, the cups were still too small.
Overall the material of this bra is awesome, soft, comfortable, and the straps are nice and thin. The nude/beige was really close to ...my skin tone and the vertical seaming on the cups gave an excellently lifted round shape, so this was basically the bra I wish I could have surgically attached (with the exception of the quad boob from the slightly-too-small cups).
In this cup size, the Juna has great immediate lower volume AND is open at the top of the cup (The first letter of its name is basically the shape it has in profile: J), so women with an equally full shape in the upper and lower breast, or women who are mostly even but slightly fuller on top, will do really well in this bra.
The lace on the cups is designed to be floppy (if it lays flat against your boob then the size is to small!) which can show under thin, clingy knit tops if it gets bunched up. But for the most part I've found this bra to have no show through whatsoever despite being seamed and lined/lightly padded. Read more 161 more words
Different colors fit differently. The strawberry 28E works for me, but the nude 28E is too big in the cups, and the band is also looser. Will exchange the nude for an 28DD.
Comfortable and cute bra. This fits almost identical as a 30GG Freya Deco, but I actually think this is more comfortable. The gore is also lower/smaller and more plungy, but I wasn't spilling out of the middle. The band is also much smaller than the 30GG deco so it's nice and firm. I love it! This is a really great bra.
I highly recommend this to those who are full on top! I've never found an unpadded balconette that doesn't cut in on top. I love it! I agree with the consensus that this runs large in the cup. Other Cleos are too small for me in a 30H, but this fits really well and I think a 30HH would be too big for me.
This one was okay, again except for the top of the cups. And the gore was very uncomfortable for me. It dug painfully into my chest and I don't think I could have worn it all day.
I have somewhat soft breasts and I find that in this bra I pour into the center and leave gaps at the sides. It ends up looking too small in some areas and too big in others. Under clothes this isn't noticeable though. The straps are set a bit too wide for me as well. Other than that it is a very comfortable bra. After wearing it all day, I almost forget it's on. Not a great fit for me, but it works well enough.
For some reason I can't bring myself to be very excited about the Cleo Lucy. I think the shape it gives my breasts leaves me underwhelmed and it doesn't feel as supportive as a Meg Balconnet or Natasha Balconnet. But I decided to give the Lucy a chance; surely there must be some spot for it in my bra wardrobe. After all, it seems like it technically fits in a 30G, my "default" size.
The color is cheerful and the material definitely seems softer than the aforementioned Cleo bras. The cups are a good width and the wires are the right length for ...me. If the cups were any wider, they would definitely be too wide. At this current width, they do a good job of reigning in my armpit-boob area. The wires come up at the right height in that they don't collide with my armpits. And the gore doesn't come up too high, in fact, it seems just right. In general, it's what I really like about Cleo bras: the length of the underwires and the height of the cups and gore are right in the comfort zone. The top of the cups are open and don't cut in, and the edges are a nice touch.
The Lucy doesn't really bring my boobs up front and center (as much as they CAN be put up front and center lol) like the other Cleos. Perhaps the shape is closer to my natural shape? Nor are my boobs smashed into my armpits.
Is the Lucy comfortable? Well, it passed my sleep test and "can I do push-ups in it?" test, so I would say it's up there, comfort-wise. My only complaint: after a period of time, the elastic on the bottom edge of the band in the back tries to roll up a little. I don't know if it has to do with the band tightness (I like a SNUG band) or if it is the nature of the elastic being so skinny. I should mention that because I like a snug band, and I'm in between band sizes (29 inches), I use the middle hooks.
When I first got the Lucy, there was the tiniest bit of wrinkling at the top of the cups, at least if I hunched over. Wearing it now, there's no wrinkling at the top of the cups, but no quadboob either. Because of the smooth profile, I can wear it under a silk knit dress and there's no tell-tale bra signs, even with the lace.
Overall, this may not be the most thrilling bra, but it does the job. I can always use a decent unpadded bra that doesn't come up to my clavicle or stab me in the chest!
[UPDATE:] After having this bra for a bit and trying other unpadded bras from Kris Line, I've concluded that I can do better, comfort-wise. I think the straps are too wide set, because they kind of dig into the top of my armpits. And then the CUPS -not the wires- cut into my pec muscles, where the cups meet the straps. If I wear the bra for too long, it leaves painful red marks above the armpit region, where my arm meets my shoulder. Another thing I've discovered is that the gore is too wide, because after a while, the edges of the gore dig into breast tissue. It's weird, because I've never thought of myself as having close-set breasts, because they're kind of splayed. But the roots of my breasts are about a finger width apart, and the gore is just a little wider. I didn't pay attention to this until I started wearing bras with a super narrow gore like Ewa Michalak and Kris Line, and realized they are more comfortable there. Read more 526 more words
This bra is gorgeous. The details are impressive and so cute. The bow, the button, the lace, the polkadots. I love the look of it and hope that I can get a good fit in it.
As it is the band is quite firm and I can probably stick with this size 30 though I am curious how well a 28 would fit. The center gore lies flat which is super great.
The cups, well they are way too small. I am hoping to be able to work it out though.
My first attempt to more structured (read: not soft cup) bras. Like many others, I was in need of a basic bra, something I could wear under white clothing and that would not show nipples. This looked perfect for that end - the lace makes it prettier than most basic bras.
The band on this bra IS stretchy. I usually buy 34 bands in Panache and Cleo (and sometimes even a 34 feels too tight for my 32'' back...), but on this 32 I can fasten on the second hook easily. I could not, however, do a 30 band. It also fits me way better on the second hook ...than on the first: this gapes on my smaller breast, which is something I wasn't that much used to since it's not as noticeable on soft cup bras. I also sized up in the cup, having read it runs shallow, and I don't regret that. While it gapes on my smaller breast, it fits PERFECT on my bigger one. I guess a pad could fix the issue.
The straps are a bit too wide-set for me, which is a new one, as I have wide shoulders. Read more 85 more words
This bra has upped my standard for quality and looks. The fabric is solid, and does not catch like some of the other bras I own. It holds it's shape quite well, without feeling overly stiff or scratchy. The straps have a nice plush lining, and the band extends just far enough below the cups to make it nice and stable. The bright blue berries print and red cloud mesh are cute and cheeky while being totally different from the standard pink frills and lace in most lingerie. The Melissa gives great forward projection and a fairly rounded profile, without creating an unnatural ...silhouette
Previous reviews said that the band runs tiny on the Cleo Melissa, so I was worried that being a larger 28 band, I would find it stifling. I find it runs actually quite true to size, both in the band and cup. I was also concerned that the wires would be too wide, since all my other bras are Freya/Ewa Michalak, but I think the wires are actually the perfect width - some of my bras may actually be a smidge too narrow. It doesn't poke anywhere, and has a nice narrow centre gore.
I do have a couple complaints and concerns, though. While the very solid mesh at the top is good for shaping, it does not have much room for variation in size. The bra fits perfectly right now, but if I go up or down even a tiny bit in size, I am concerned that it will not fit as well. Also, I don't know what it is about the shape, but I find there is a bit more pressure on the straps in this bra than in others. It might be partly due to only having two hooks in the back - I prefer three. Read more 204 more words
This is easily the best fitting unpadded bra I've owned. I love it. The band runs very small - I would call it a 26 rather than a 28, but that's great news for me. If you're a true 28 though you might seriously consider sizing up or picking up an extender. The lace at the top of the cups is very forgiving of asymmetries. My right side is slightly smaller, but the top doesn't gape at all. I do get a tiny wrinkle in the middle of the cup where the lace meets the mesh on my small side, ...but nothing noticeable under clothing. I'm fairly high set as well, and find that I do not have problems with this bra cutting in under the arms at the straps, as so many bras do. The gore is a little bit high so, being close set, the wires don't sit completely flat at the top. There is some extra space in the channels though, so it's easy to push the wires down in the middle to fix that.
Overall, this bra is a great fit, and plan on picking this up in red soon. Read more 94 more words
I measure 29 inches under the bust and usually wear 28-30 bands. My 30 bands have been feeling too tight recently, so I wanted a more comfortable and looser band. Unfortunately, this band is very loose. I want to say that it is loose for a 32, but it really is true to size and very stretchy. However, this bra only goes up to an H cup and I fear a 30H would be too small in the cups. This bra is too wide for my boobs, probably because my frame is not a 32-band frame. The depth is perfect. Center gores rarely lie flat on my full ...in the center breasts, but this one does very comfortably. I quadboob a bit in the middle of the bra, and gape a bit on the sides towards the top because I have shallow tissue on the sides of my breasts. I wish this bra was a little lower-cut. I think that a 30H would feel better on my armpits and migrated tissue, but I have a feeling I would quadboob quite a bit. This bra is definitely not for my shape, but it still looks great under clothes and alone. This bra provides the most coverage out of all of my bras, but still provides some lovely cleavage. I don't have any other bras in a fun print so I feel like I really need this bra even though it's not perfect. It is very comfortable and soft. The material comfort outweighs the slight backache I have from wearing a loose band. I may invest in a rixie clip or alter the band. Tightening the band may exasperate the wideness issue I have with this bra. Read more 177 more words
I adore this bra. I got it a few months ago, when I was a 34F (I've gone down a band size, and seem to have gone up a cup size -- though I'm not sure, because different brands size differently) and when I wear it on the tightest row of eyes, it fits me perfectly still. I'm top-heavy, and unlike most models I've tried this one doesn't cut in at all, but I manage to fill it out entirely. The wires don't poke, it's super comfortable. It gives a very nice rounded shape, and there's loads of forwards projection - no east-west splaying happening here! After three months of ...fairly constant wear (I rotate it in every two or three days, to give the elastic time to rest) it's still in excellent condition (no pilling or signs of wear anywhere except the tag). Gives a lot of uplift, too, and because of the print and colours it's nice and cheerful to get ready in in the mornings https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> I wear it when I know I need to feel confident in how I look. This is easily my favourite bra, and I'm considering buying another - probably in my current size, though I might wait until it starts to go on sale. I'm probably going to cry when it wears out.
Pros: Great for fuller on top breasts, firmer breasts, and rounded breasts Funky pattern https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> After a few wears the seams smooth out so it's possible to wear this bra under a T-shirt and not have it be too noticeable (especially if it's darker or with a pattern on it). Very firm band Very high quality fabric Due to the lace section, a lot of the breast is encased, so it feels secure, but it doesn't feel stifling because it's a thinner material Cons: Visible under lighter shirts The seam where the lace attaches to the blue fabric can be a bit puckery (though it generally smooths out - I've only noticed this right after a wash, and it smooths out in an hour or two after putting it on) The yellow berries are more green in real life, if anyone is ordering this online. I was slightly surprised by that. The straps are tough to adjust - though this does mean they don't slip throughout the day, which is always a plus! Just difficult to get the strap to slide through the plastic bit. They are fully adjustable though. Read more 303 more words
This is a VERY lovely bra, and one of the first in my new size that I think really feels good! I've written a full review over at my blog https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I must say the bra looks gorgeous on you :) I am absolutely in love with the print and the oh-so-bright blue! I think I will give it a go :) You say you're bottom heavy but I think it will work on top heavy boobs too :) (I have top heavy boobs)
Thanks so much! I am totally in love with the print too. I agree that this could work for top heavy boobs too, but I would be really interested to see a review from someone who is top heavy wearing it!
It's a very comfortable bra and its colours look much better to me in person than in the photos I saw on the internet before I bought it. Like its sisters, it's a very good bra for wide root shallow boobs. Its cups run fairly small, similar to the Juna's, Rita's, Darcy's, Rihanna's and Cara's (Rita and Darcy have the widest/shallowest cups in my experience, but there isn't a big difference between these and the others), so a 30DD fits me better most of the time.
This bra actually fit me but I did not like it. I gave me a sad looking shape and didn't have enough lift. The lace on the top of the cup shows through clothes and doesn't make for a good t-shirt bra, even though it is advertised as such. The nude color is kind of gross and not quite the shade I am looking for.
Band is a good tightness on the middle set of hooks, the first set is just a bit too loose for me. Volume wise, the cups are just about right, though my larger side has just the tiniest bit of overspill when I take a deep breath.
The wires are too wide on the side, and the cups are too wide and tall on the sides for me. The cups are so tall on the sides that they are close to sitting in my armpits, and in fact the cup does go into my armpit (and cuts in) when I reach my arm forward. The cups are overall ...too wide and shallow for my shape, splaying my boobs out to the side in an awkward fashion. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
This 30GG seems to be the best I can do in the Maddie (though the 28H is very similar), but the fit and shape just doesn't work for me. It's really unfortunate, as it is a very cute bra, and if it was compatible with my shape it would be great for under t-shirts. Read more 79 more words
Band is a good tightness on the first set of hooks. Cups are a bit too big (30GG is the best fit I can get in this model, but even that is still not great.)
As for this 30H, the cups (and wires) on it are so wide and tall on the sides that they literally sit in my armpit, and in addition, my arm movement is restricted so that I can barely reach my arms forward. If I force my arms forward (as in reach forward with both arms at the same time) the entire frame of the bra leans forward away from my body. The wide cups also splay my boobs out to the sides, as they are too wide and also too shallow for my shape. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
It's really unfortunate, as it is a very cute bra, and if it was compatible with my shape it would be great for under t-shirts.
Band is a bit too tight, if I were to wear it I would definitely use an extender to extend by on or two hooks. Volume wise, the cups are close, but are just a tiny bit too small, although the quad is slight enough that it just barely shows under a shirt.
The wires are too wide on the side, and the cups are too wide and tall on the sides for me. The cups are so tall on the sides that they are close to sitting in my armpits, and in fact the cup does go into my armpit (and cuts in) when I reach my ...arm forward. (Incidentally, this 28H and the 30GG have a very very similar fit aside from the band size differences, but I think the 30GG doesn't cut into my armpits quite as much as this 28H does.) The cups are overall too wide and shallow for my shape, splaying my boobs out to the side in an awkward fashion. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Ultimately I think the 30GG offers me a bit fit than this 28H, but even that isn't all that great. It's really unfortunate, as the Maddie is a very cute bra, and if it was compatible with my shape it would be great for under t-shirts. Read more 112 more words
I'm so excited for this bra! I have the CleoKaren in 30FF and the band too big and the cups are too small. The band is nice and snug, not as stretchy as the Karen. I like the color/pattern better in person than in the pictures online. I'm pleased with the fit of the Maddie. It gives a nice rounded shape and does not show under clothing.
