This seems to have a smaller band than others I've purchased in the same size. If I were to buy it again I would have gone up a band size. Boning along the wings prevents this long line from rolling up like others do.
A technical fit in all aspects except I can't with this gore. There's a measure of irony in regards to me never understanding the desire to rip off an uncomfortable bra when I wore ill-fitting Wal-Mart crap, and yet a properly sized one forced my hand. Probably shopping for extenders this weekend.
EDIT 2020/2/18: I have no clue what happened but we’re A-OK now. Maybe I broke it in or maybe I’m just smaller in the ribcage today. Either way, with the gore issue out of the way, the only thing left is slight wrinkling in my smaller side, and that I can deal with painlessly. A good thing too, because the extenders I got from Target have hooks further apart than Hettie’s hooks, and I didn’t want to risk an extender tearing her up.
This is too shallow for me. Size is good and its ok in a tshirt, even if a little flat. It somehow manages to be a bit small in the cup, bulges out my inner fullness and gapes at the top corner... overall not a great fit. Large in the band, but still ok. Brings my wide set breasts too much together. Lace is a bit funny, very stretchy so you'd think it would be forgiving for inner fullness but not on me...
Usually I use Polish, like Ewa, Gaia, Gorteks etc. My breast spill out with Ewa CHP 65DD, but this didn't. This bra have very pretty round shape, definitely wider than Ewa CHP, slightly stretchy than Ewa and the foam on the upper cups edge are very thick.
I like this bra! I'd been dreaming of having a nude Marcie since I saw a photo of one on the "what bra sizes look like" Wordpress, and I was super excited to receive one. It's way small on me -- even my smaller breast gets quadboob when I scoop & swoop or when I lean over, so I'm waiting on a 28FF (bought this one used so can't return it) -- but I like the bra as a whole. The band was too tight to fasten in front (terrible habit, I know!! I just find it so difficult to fasten bras in the back) when I first ...received it, but after a couple wears it definitely stretched out so that now I could probably stand to wear it on the second tightest hook. It's not wearable under a white shirt because of the polka dots, but hey, that's what my white Corin bra is for! I find that it gives me a lifted appearance for sure. I like to test out lift by putting on this one tank top I have that makes me look SOOO saggy without a bra, and the Marcie definitely improved that a lot. It kind of has a minimizing effect on me which I dislike, but hopefully the 28FF will solve that by not squishing my breasts into a too-small cup. I think the band might stretch over time more than I'd prefer, but we'll see what happens. It's comfortable to wear and I don't notice its presence during the day. Basically, I like the appearance of the bra itself, but I'm not a huge fan of the shape it gives me. Assuming Cleo/Marcie is true to size, this tells me that I am almost definitely not a 28F, no matter how much I doubt that I could possibly fill out a FF cup. I'm full on bottom but I have no issues filling out the top of the cup (again, might be different in the FF, which I'll indicate in my review of that one). Read more 233 more words
Yeah it’s not great under white (that’s what red is for), but you can tell it is too small as the gore doesn’t appear to be tacking. Sorry it’s not a good fit. Nude Marcie is a strange fit as it seems to run bigger in some areas than others, but Marcie is highly variable depending on the colour you get. My 30F black and navy don’t fit the same...black is 1/2” taller all over which makes it not fit quite as well.
This bra would be suitable for someone with a shallow shape and wide roots. Cups and band fit true to size.
Pros: very sturdy and supportive; gives breast tissue a nice shape; is open on top so can be worn with lower necklines. Fits true to size, and doesn't stretch out much with wear. If this bra suits your shape, it will make your breasts look amazing.
Cons: the wires are stiff and take quite a bit of wear to break in; this bra starts to get uncomfortable after a few hours. The cups aren't as flexible, and the straps tend to get caught in my armpits/migrated tissue causing the outer corners of the cups to bend outwards. Straps need frequent adjusting for comfort, but the cups hold breast tissue with strong support. This is marketed as a t-shirt bra, but the lace border shows under thinner material.
I can tell this bra is of excellent construction and gives a nice shape. I measure more as a 30E. So the 28F is too tight and the straps are too short. And the lace is very loose just like almost all bras on me (tall, shallow roots). I would like to try it in a 30E of I ever get a chance, though I am confident the lace would still be loose.
The band is much tighter / less stretchy then on my blue 28F Marcie (http://bra.pe/XYLq/). Possibly because of the darker color? The cups look the same but also feel very tight. Overall this is more supportive but also very constricting.
My boobs are high up!! Woah!!! I've been wearing 2 over-worn, stretched-out bras that don't have enough immediate projection, so I'm used to bras sitting too low. I've been working out and fighting against my sugar addiction, so suddenly my body has been changing. Suddenly my breasts are smaller and higher again. It's nice to have a bra with a firm band. I can actually keep the underwires up against my breasts!! The better cup shape helps too. With my band higher, a 28 band almost feels too high. I have a V shaped ribcage, so if I wear a band higher, a 30 might be better. But ...this 28 band stretches to my loose rib, so it's comfortable! The one thing that has always hurt in this bra style is the center gore. OUCH. Still haven't worn it for a full day of work yet. If I could, I'd change the underwires and move the straps in. I don't look super projected in T-shirts, but overall really glad I have a Marcie that fits in my wardrobe again. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 78 more words
I've only worn this bra two or three times since I got it, so these opinions could change in the future. But so far, I really like this bra! I bought it at Secrets From Your Sister in Toronto, Ontario for about $65 plus tax. A little more expensive than other Cleos I've bought there in the past, but still cheaper than Panache and Freya and most other brands. I really love the colour combination of this bra. It's hot pink with black mesh overtop which creates a really pretty cranberry colour from the outside. The band is a really soft and smooth microfiber and it's quite snug, ...like a lot of other unpadded Cleos (except for the recent Marcie in Bluebell and Blake bras; damn you for being so beautiful yet so stretchy!!). The cups have stretch lace on the top half in a really cool geometric kind of pattern, and the cups themselves create a super projected and round shape. In fact, I don't like wearing this bra with some of my looser tops because I don't like the silhouette it creates. However I do still wear it frequently when I am going for the projected silhouette. The gore tacks on me (I've never had a problem with this because my breasts have a fair amount of space in between them on my sternum), the lace lays flat (although I did have to go down a cup from my usual size because of the stretch lace and the fact that this bra is just SO projected), and it has decent immediate projection at the wire. The only thing that I was not happy about was that when I bought it, there were a bunch of additional loose threads that were sewn into the right cup. Like, there were little 1cm threads that I was picking out of the stitching because they were sticking out. So the quality was not quite up to par with what I've come to expect from Cleo, but I think that the issue with this particular bra was just a fluke. Overall, really happy with this bra!
Updated review, Oct. 5th/2017: Okay, so my opinions have definitely changed regarding this bra, and not for the better. This bra continues to reveal its poor quality. As I've washed and worn this bra, the stretch lace has been changing in shape and texture. It seems rougher, and it has become more loose and does not conform to my shape as well when I move around. The black mesh overlay on the cups has become slightly stretched and it wrinkles independently of the inside structure of the cups. The gore becomes painful after a day of wearing, which rarely happens to me. I'm not sure if it's because this bra has become a shape mismatch for me, or whether the cups have lost some of its shape over time, or any number of other reasons. Regardless, this bra has not lived up to its expectations. Hopefully this one bra, or this one model, is just a fluke and the rest of Cleo's bras continue to be produced at top quality. This bra is simply too big in the cups for me. I fit better in 28F in Cleo bras like Marcie and Hettie, but Kayla is just super deep. There was a lot of space at the apex and top lace. Band runs true to size. Not really a fan of the print but it's not too bad. The gore is horribly painful even when I wore it for just 2 minutes.
This bra is great for tall roots or full-on-top breasts because of its stretch lace. On me it still has a wrinkle where the lace and the rest of the cups join though. There is also some wrinkle on the fabric which I believe isn't a size issue, but the structure of the cups. Gore was too high and wide for my super close-set breasts. Pretty projected cups with kinda narrow wires imo. Not a fan of polka dots, but the color combination is okay. The band runs true to size on this one probably because it is black.
This is probably my first bra that stays in place for more than 30 minutes. I'm think I'm fairly even, so you don't need to be FOT to have it fit, at least not in this size. I was slightly worried about the band size, since I have a 28f Freya Deco bras that were my best fit before, and I've read Cleo bands are smaller but the band fits perfectly in the last hook so I hope it doesn't stretch too much. The cups are a bit wide for me, but since everything else seems to fit this is probably my best fitting bra currently. It's very comfortable to wear and it's very cute.
I can't say anything about the quality or durability since I just got it, but overall I have nothing negative to say. It's a beautiful bra that fits.
Another day, another mail order bra fail. But I expected it, since I ordered it based on misjudging the fit of Panache Ava. First off, the cups are obviously just too big. But even if I sized down in the cup, I suspect I'd still contend with what I think is lack of immediate projection. I'm very newly learning about this by looking at others' pictures here, realizing all underwires sit way down below my breasts, and never experiencing lift in unlined bras (and I only wear unlined.) Although in the side pic the wire seems to be at the edge of my breast, and not in my ...armpit, I think it is too wide. I believe that the sliding-down-the-ribcage thing has been masking too-wide wires/too-deep cups. (Also, the other wire is definitely further out into my armpit.) I am a total newbie to diagnosing wires, and can't tell whether these are too high, but I think so, ever since someone introduced me to "short roots" yesterday. Same as how I describe the wire width -- wire height doesn't look incredibly problematic (except from the side) because it's just sitting too low. I can say the bra wire is uncomfortable pretty much all over. Although I know I'd come closer in 28E or 30DD, I'm going to post this for a fit check because its problems are the same as 70%of bras I've tried. I used to think of this as categorically as "all bras make my breasts wide" but I'm now I'm beginning to see that cup width, wire height, and strap placement, and other factors are at play. Many wired and seamed bras give me virtually no shaping benefit over my braless/braletted breasts, yet without the comfort and natural feel of those options. Lose-lose. Read more 189 more words
I found this on sale and since my blue Hettie is on the bigger side I was hoping this would be the same, but it is fairly TTS making it too small in the band for me. Other than the band, the cups fit as expected.
I own this bra in 30DD, but it is not wide enough and the cups are on the smallish side, so I got the 28F just to try how it would fit. The wires are wide enough. The cups are fine and fit the bottom of my breasts better than the 30DD, although depending on how I move they can gape a tiny bit on top. I guess I would ideally get this in an in between cup size E-F. The wires of the bra are not flexible enough for me and dig into my sternum, just like I had with the bra I own (I have changed the wires).
I love the way this bra looks, so I tried it on many sizes. I wore a more lengthy review for the 30DD. The 28 band fits me better. In the 28E and the 30DD I had an orange in glass effect in the bottom of the bra, and some minor quad boobs. The F fits better on the bottom, but had a small gap on top.
I really like this bra but it doesn't not fit well. I have a 26in underbust and normally wear 28 bands, but this band is too loose. The gore does not lay flat on sternum and I quad on my left side. Maybe sizing up would have helped, but the band is too stretchy for me. Other than that, it's a really nice bra.
