This is my second bra of this brand and model. I have lost a bit of fullness, or gotten a little more toned in the past two years, so I have gone down a band size. This bra is still my favorite. This is the bra that I compare all other bras to.
This bra fits me pretty much exactly like the Panache Ava plunge. In my opinion, it is just a padded version of Ava. The band is a little stiffer than Ava, so I'm wearing it with an extender, but the cups fit me the exact same. My shape is average to slight projection, even fullness, with tall, shallow roots. It does seem more cheaply made, and I don't really like the frilly part on top of the cup. I might just cut it off, as it doesn't lie flat. But I'm happy with it as it is a good fitting padded plunge for my shape and I got it for a pretty good price.
This bra makes cakes-on -the-plate look, and that was the reason why I bought it. I hoped that was due to the shape of the bra, but that was just because of shallow cups. It's really one size small for me. Band is not very tight, I began to wear the bra from the second hooks.
The cups are very shallow, I can't fill the bottom of the bra. But it creates very nice cleavage and it's a perfect bra for deep-v-neckline. The band is quite snug, but not uncomfortable. After more then 2 years of very regular wear ( about 12-15 month I had just 2-3 fitting bras) and regular wash it still looks well, not like new, but quite nice. The cups still keep their shape.
I bought this bra when I first used ABTF's size calculator. Yikes! Band WAY too tight, cups a smidge too large and too projected for me. (I also couldn't wear this high gore even if the band fit.) I do like the (unworn) appearance and crazy color, though.
The band of this bra ( exactly in nude colorway) is very snug. First time I had to wear it with extender. Now ( after 2 years of regular wear) it became completely comfortable, and sometimes I even need to use the second hooks. I can't fill the bottom of the bra as it's too shallow. But it creates very nice cleavage and it's a perfect bra for deep-v-neckline.
It's a nice and comfy every-day bra. I have Marcie in 2 sister-sizes and 2 colorways ( the nude 30F and bluebell 28ff). The band is quite snug and the cups are quite deep.
I have swan colorway, and that was love from the first sight. The band is true to size, but the cups run bigger ( at least 1 cup bigger) and I have wrinkling at the top. I'm going to alter the cups ( to make them smaller) but even with this problem bra looks very nice and gives very round form under clothes.
This bra is aesthetically my favorite bra ever! It is feminine without being bright pink and has polka dots but they are softened just enough that they are almost like a watercolor. I have tried this bra in a few sizes but I have to let go. This bra is too large in the cups for me and if I go down a size I would expect it to be too shallow for me. The quality is similar to other Cleos that I have tried and the bra itself shows almost no signs of wear.
My shape, as best I can tell right now: -balanced fullness -full in center -somewhat shallow -tall roots -soft tissue -broad shoulders
Takeaway: Not a good fit for this shape. Issues were with center fullness and soft tissue.
Details:
I have lost a lot of weight, so when I put a bra on and I'm lifted up properly, I'm finding that what look like smaller boobs end up being a larger cup size than I would have thought.
Here is a description of the fit:
-the outsides were tall enough -the band fit true to size (I had to put it on the second hook as the bra is defective and is missing an eye on the ...first hook, but I don't think this affected the fit too drastically) -cups are too wide on the side, just a little -the seam on the inner portion on the cup plus the wider cup separation posed a challenge. After immediately adjusting, I'd get a quadboob. Seconds later, my soft tissue settled into the cups, with the bra flattening my breasts out into a 'sports bra' kind of effect. No thanks! I'll stick to my old bras over this.
I've got a photo of the seam on the cup that was giving me trouble, so you can know what I'm talking about.
Quality: I mean... I got a defective one. It's missing an eye on the first hook. The third hook is actually sewn on unevenly. Defective hook aside, there are loose threads here and there. It's clearly sister sized down in the underwires/cups. The material is decent- feels good against the skin both inside and out. If it's good for your shape, then see if you can get it on sale as I did.
Comfort: To be fair to Cleo, even as a poor fit, it didn't poke or prod me, which is a big concern of mine as I have sensitive skin and little padding on my sternum. Straps are quite 'springy' but have decent strength to them. Keep in mind that they are 1/2inch wide. Sometimes straps that thin can feel like razor wire but I didn't notice that- much larger breasts may have a different opinion, of course.
Appearance: It's a decent basic. There's a tiny ribbon at the center gore with a little heart charm (if that's what you'd call it...) sewn onto it. Straps have tiny black polka dots on them. The bottom seam of the band and the top seam of the cups have a small scalloped lace edge. I'm putting defects aside when I rate appearance here.
Hopefully this review helps someone! I am a bit new to this.
So if you have a shape similar to mine, you might want to give this one a pass. Read more 338 more words
Definitely a shape mismatch, and the band in this runs huge, unless mine has a defect. The wings are really short, so if you have tall roots, forget it. The cups are also on the wide side for my shape, so I had spare space on the outsides. But I think the most frustrating part is how large the band runs; it fits like a 30, and I'd have to wear it on the tightest hook in order to get it to fit. I was almost swayed by the cute print and the fact that it's not one of my ratty old 30DDs, but I think I'll wait for a bra that fits properly.
This is one of the only bras that fits me properly. I did sister size down to 28FF as the 30F could be fastened on the middle hook right away so this band run bigger/stretchier than other Cleo's. Don't really care for the color.
I think this is probably my best fitting bra in the cups. I bought it on a trip to the uk where i got to visit bravissimo and actually try on bras (rather than buying online and having to guess what might fit and sending things back!) Unfortunately there wasnt much that fitted. This and the bravissimo Satine were the only ones. And i was wanting something non padded.
The fitter suggested that i need low balconettes like this one as, for example the bravissimo balconettes are very full and high on me and i have empty material at the top of the cups. I think this is because ...i am bottom heavy, but i am not really sure....????
In the pictures it looks like there is a little bit of quad boob. But i dont think it is so in real life.
The band seems really tight. Maybe a little too tight for me. The fitter said it was ok, but it is very firm. My back measurement seems to have recently got a bit bigger, which is good for me as before even some 28s were too big. But now i am finding firm 28s like this quite tight. It is strange because i just measured this and my curvy kate dita plunge (to add them both to bratabase) and the measurements are surprisingly similar and yet this feels a lot less stretchy and tighter.
The wires seem quite wide. For me they are good.
I like that the straps are fully adjustable. Read more 145 more words
The band 28 feels not very bad but too snug for me (im 72cm underbuts, but im not fan of tight bands). Recently I started wearing Marcies in 30F as they are just perfect, no wrinkles on the lace, making such lovely shape (definietly they looks better than 34D). the 28FF feels too big, maybe not full size too big but more than a half size too big. The wires are neither narrow nor wide, but around 0.3-0.5 cm too wide - 30E would definietly have perfect wires. But I can live with them, theyre kind of soft, softer than marcie. I dont know what Cleo did with the design of this bra, but the sides from cups and straps are wide and theyre little bothering my armpits. I dont know if this is caused by little too large cup or its the Skye itself. I really need to put my hands on 30E/32DD to check it out!
Cup is shaped for center full breasts, and top edge of cup curves inward, also cup runs small. I think you'd need to be a very specific shape for this bra to fit well. Quality wise, the light foam shows through the outer material of the cups- in the light seafoam/rose pink trim.
Aside from my EM CH Onyks, the Cleo Maddie is my favorite bra model. I love the moulding of the cups and support and cleavage it gives to my FoB immediately projected and slightly wide set boobs. Low-cut although with a fairly high gore, so not good for plunge necklines (I wish this had a plunge gore).
As for this particular bra, I sized down in the band when I bought this because I was thinner. However, I *thought* I had to go up two cup sizes to get the same fit as the 30E, because I didn't understand fit as well as I do now. The cup size is, as everyone would say, one too large. So I can wear 30E and 28F in Cleo Maddie....but not 28FF. There is gaping in this one for me.
Purchased with the help of the lovely ladies over at ABTF. It's a decent fit. For reference, I'm projected, narrow-rooted, average-to-short root height, even (to ever so slightly FOB), with quite a bit of immediate projection.
The main problem I have with this bra is that it's FOT-friendly AND very projected. It left me with some gaping lace. Not a deal breaker, it covers up ok under clothing, but it's not ideal. I'm considering having it altered just to nip in a bit of it.
The immediate projection/bottom cup depth is good, but not quite as much as I need. And it might have just a touch more projection than what I strictly need, but it's not too bad.
The quality is great. The pattern is pretty and fabric is smooth. Straps are just long enough for me when they're loosened as much as they'll go (tall shoulders? low boobs? idek). It gives a good shape under clothing - more natural instead of the basketball look, but nice nonetheless.
