I enjoy the simple look of this bra. Previously Neve has fitted me well, but since weight loss there're fitting problems. It seems that this newer Neve has the same good quality as my first Neve had years ago. Although slightly longer band? To me the band isn't supportive enough so straps dig in a bit and feel a little awkward. All in all, this is light and really supportive and well made.
Currently, without going down to 26 band (I have 24in snug underbust) this is my best fit. I fill the cups well in this one and it doesn't dig in at the sternum or rise up over my boobs. As usual the wire will overlap one boob because of how close set they are.
I owned this bra in 28F previously, but it was always slightly too small, which is why I preferred my 28F Parrot Print Lily. Now it's my 28FF Aqua that fits better out of the two. It was previously owned, so the band has been stretched, and I wear it on the tightest hook. Other than that, it's great. Great wire width, shape, gore tacks, straps mostly stay put. Overall a great bra.
I've discovered that this, the Parrot Print Lily, runs slightly larger in the cups than the solid-prints (ie. the Aqua). I also bought this second-hand from someone, so the band is stretched and I'm wearing it on the tightest hooks. Other than that, it fits fantastically, gore tacks, cups are smooth and round, wire width is great. All around a fantastic bra. I first owned it in 28F and when I grew out of it I knew I had to get one in 28FF.
I got this bra from a fellow bratabase user. I love the colour and the set is super cute!
Unfortunately the gore is too wide for me so the the wires try to place themselves on top of eachother, so they look like an inverted V. I get some quadding, but it is not visible under a shirt.
I think I will try to overlap the wires at the gore and see how it works out, it is so cute so I really want to make it work.
This is a cute bra! The color is a lovely off-white, the look is rather simple but the lace edge gives a nice touch. Juna gives a fabulous, round shape and is very functional under a lot of clothes. The cups fit well (it doesn’t seem super shallow to me) and the materials feel good on the skin. The wires are slightly too wide, but not uncomfortably so. The band fits on the looser side. Nevertheless, Juna would be great for me without one thing: the gore. I have close-set breasts that also tend to gravitate towards the center during the day. The center gore of Juna is ...relatively high, wide, and extremely sturdy. It sits on my breast tissue, poking and leaving marks. I once made the mistake of wearing this bra for two days in a row, which left horrible dark marks on my boobs for a week. I previously had the Juna in 28F that then got small and worn out, and it didn’t feel so bad after breaking in. I hope the wires would soften up, or maybe I’ll try to bend them. I’m sad because I really like this bra otherwise! Read more 89 more words
The Juna in 28FF fits me very well, I like it a lot. The wires are nicely shaped for my breast form, as they don't reach up high in the armpits and form a wide cup. The band is very firm and not too elastic, but doesn't cut into the skin, which makes it comfortable for me (since I like tight bands; for now I find it improbable that I will somehow get to use the tightest hooks). The straps are very smooth and of ideal width, they are firm but don't cut into the skin. For my pretty separate breasts the gore width is perfect, as well as the cup shape that gently pushes the tissue towards the center of the chest without leaving any fabric there (what is my problem in many other bras). This is why on me, it has a slight push-up effect. The only "negative" thing about this bra is the thin line of lace at the cupline, that is truly horribly sized, but easy to fix sewing it together behind the gore.
Fits just like my 28FF - Cleo » Lily Balconnet Bra (7351) did, only slightly more open in the top section as the Swan print is known to be. You can reference my Parrot review for all the nitty gritty details, as I don't have much different to say about this one.
November 23, 2015: Alright, alright, alright! This bra works! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> For some reason, the band isn't as tight as the last two sizes I had (28E and 28F). Maybe Cleo finally listened to complaints of the band being too tight and made their latest color a bit looser? ANYWAY, it's a positive for me! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I don't want to have to wear a pretty bra with an ugly extender! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> It would fit me better if I was about a half inch to inch smaller around, but it's max stretch ...was 30" so it works for me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> It definitely will last me a while like my other Marcies did. A problem I had with my last Marcie was the wires digging in painfully at my sides and sternum. I think that the loosening of the band helped. And surprisingly, it wasn't until the end of the day and a few hours of slouching on the couch reading that the gore started to hurt me. So yay for comfort! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The fit is nearly perfect. The cups are a tiny bit too wide on the sides (1/4" on my right side, almost 1/2" in my left side, but really, that's not major), and there's a tiny bit of wrinkling over the apex. I don't understand why there is extra fabric there; if I were to fill it, the seam across my breast would actually cause an unattractive dent across my breast if it was all filled! I don't really notice it under shirts, so I'll probably leave it alone, but if it does end up bothering me, it's nothing a quick little hand sewing couldn't fix! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Basically, the upper cup fabric has a bit more stretch than the thick seam.
I understand that the actual bra fabric has poka dots, but they're so faint and the lace is so elegant, the bright white bows with purple tiny dots don't really seem to go with the bra. They seem out of place to me. I might actually cut them off, but we'll see, they might grow on me. (Also, I paid full price for this set, so "damaging" it in any way is a bit nerve-racking to me.) Otherwise, I LOVE the color! To me, burgundy is a bit lighter in color, but any shade of berry/purple works really well with my skin and it's very royal and attractive to me! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
What REALLY boggles me, is that this bra is so similar in measurement to the Gossard Phoebe, and while this bra fits, the Phoebe is WAY too large in the cups. After further analysis, it appears that the Marcie is definitely more shallow in shape, and the cups have more of a < shape (not an extreme cone, but more gradual slopes). On the other hand, the Phoebe cups have a very pronounced C shape, with immediate projection and a more obvious dome shape, so it's much more rounded than the Marcie cups. So while the wire width and cup depths are about the same, the cup shape of the Marcie is for more flat/pointed/shallow breasts, and the Phoebe is for very full and rounded breasts. There is more overall cup volume in the Phoebe, which is why it appeared much much bigger on my less-than-round breasts.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I got the matching underwear! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The fabric and elastics are VERY firm. I contacted a Bravissimo fitting expert and she said I would be between a medium and small with a 27" waist, 33" upper hip, and 39" hip, BUT the medium was quite tight! While it was comfortable, it's didn't create the smooth silhouette I was hoping for by sizing up from a small. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I still got some muffin top. Lying flat, the panty waist is 14.25" and stretches to 17", the lying flat hip is 16.5" and stretches to 20." So as you can see, with a max stretch of 34" in the upper hip area, and max stretch of 40" in the hip area, it's only 1" larger than my body measurements, which means I get some angry elastic! I wouldn't have been able to fit into the small without squeezing myself painfully. The panty is still very cute (I LOVE the ruffles on the sides!!!) and I really like the matching set, I just wish it had a bit more flexible and soft give. Read more 679 more words
this bra is one of my favorites at the moment! I finally shortened the straps, now its perfect! It makes a perfect round shape https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
November 2015: Absolutely amazing almost perfect bra fit ever. I don't know why I didn't write an original review when I first got this! Now the band is getting stretchy and it's probably time for another 28FF. Basically, my most favorite bra ever and I will always wear it! Best fit I've ever had in a bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The one tiny issue is the cup width. I think my breasts have magically become more projected and a bit less wide, but maybe the wires have just been stretched out since I wear this bra the most. The wire actually sits a tiny ...bit behind my breast root on the side now. But the center is great, I completely fill the cups, there is just a tiiiiiiny bit of cutting in at the top (not enough for the next size up, considering that I'm mostly 28F in almost every other brand and also that the wires are too wide) that doesn't show through shirts. This bra gives me a great silhouette and I can wear it under anything. While the color is a bit more dark beige than my skin tone, it's not a ridiculous tan or mocha color, so it hides pretty well even under sheers! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 111 more words
I love the bright colours of this bra but unfortunately the Lily no longer seems to be my perfect bra. This aqua version seems a little bigger than the parrot print one, leaving wrinkles in the top part of the bra.
Well I wanted Marcie to work, but it just didn't. It's a shape incompatibility with me I believe, and a soft-tissue incompatibility. The tight diagonal seam created in cup quadding, while I still had some lace wrinkling on top. Due to the FOT cut going against my functionally-FOB breasts, I sized down one cup and that was the correct decision. A 28G would have been too wide and empty at the top of the cups. But the design of this bra is not going to work for me and my soft tissue and short roots in any size.
It's a bummer, because aesthetically this bra is gorgeous. The shade of beige was very nice on my skin, but the white dots and white lace trim effectively ruined the "nude" aspect of the bra. I have dark enough skin the white accents stood out like bright lights under white shirts https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
This color of marcie fits a little bigger than the other colors. It is a bit more open along the top edge. Otherwise, it's the standard, great shape of all Marcies.
The Juna. Oh, the Juna. How I want to love this bra. It was an 80-100% recommendation from Bratabase. After trying mostly 30 bands, I realize I really am a true 28 band. It's tiny in the cups. I'm disappointed and not sure what to do with it. I like the shape it gives. The bra is adorable and seems to be made well. The lace trim doesn't bother me, and my skin is usually picky about lace.
*Update* - cups definitely too small, too shallow. Sold it. Tried a 28, which was still too small on my bigger side.
This bra seems to have a more projected shape, and it fits a little larger on me than Lily/Meg. The weird thing about it is that although the lace gaps a little at the top after the initial swoop and scoop, my breasts kind of float up and stay in line with the lace after a few minutes. Maybe this means the base of the cup is a little shallow and/or it's the cup fabric pushing in at the sides.
Also, there's much more jiggle with this bra than the Cleo/Meg, which I assume is due to unused ...space in the cup. Though the Nyla appears to fit, I don't wear it to work.
Elsewhere, it's cute and comfortable. It seems durable and well made. This fabric is soft with little to no stretch. While initially a little wonky, the non-stretch lace at the top of the cup settles in (or maybe thats me) to a smooth line.
I probably won't buy another Marcie clone but I like it too well to list. Read more 79 more words
Seamless nude color bra! I had to cut off the lace detail so it doesn't show through white shirts. And the straps are a bit wide set for my narrow shoulders so I had to add something to the back to bring the should straps closer together. I could have gone with a bigger cup because my bigger boob feels a bit constricted but the smaller side fits well.
After wearing for longer, I don't like the straps at all, they cause the cups to angle away and its not comfortable. I will be adding a racer back bra strap converter to fix this...
I don't understand why so many manufacturers put white trim on "nude" bras! I know it looks cute, but it totally defeats the purpose of a nude bra when they do that. Kudos to you for cutting it off! I've done that before myself. ;)
First of all, I am in love with this bra's colouring (plum/berry). I was reading SweetNothings' latest post about Curve NY about how Plum & Berry colourways seem to be a trend this season! So yay! This bra is a 28FF (I'm normally on the smaller side of 28G in most bras) gives me a smooth line at the top of the cups and a very pointed vintage shape- seriously, very pointed, like bullet-bra mode. Usually I like a more rounded shape, but for some reason I don't care about the pointyness in this bra! I'm thinking maybe if I sized down to ...a 28F the pointyness would go away, but I don't really care that much. I put the bra on at around 8:00 this morning, and it is currently 18:00 and is still so comfy! The straps are pretty thick in depth for the front, non-adjustable parts, so they rest easily on my bony shoulders. There is no digging into my ribs, sternum, or armpits, so that's great too! Overall, a great shot in dark that ended up fitting pretty perfectly and being even nicer to look at in person https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 99 more words
Well, upon initially trying this one on I thought the cups were much too big and went instead for the 28F. (http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dlxu3/) Even so, I wasn't sure about that, nor were fellow Bratabasers, so I decided to try this one on again to see, being sure to firmly anchor the underwires in my IMF. It does seem to fit much better, I have to say, though there is gaping at the top—it's mostly the lace, but the cups do gape a bit (see laptop-held-above-my-head photo). I'm still not sure and per the comments on my 28F, may try 30E and 30F to see what happens there. ...That does make me nervous, though since I really do prefer 28 bands. We'll see.
All of that (and the odd dents in the fabric I'm not sure would come out in the wash), this is a really comfortable bra, just as the 28F. The fabric is soft, it is comfortable, I do not feel as if the girls are being manipulated (if that makes sense), and though it is plain, it's kind of a pretty plain. As someone who wears a lot of light tops, I do need lighter bras, and though this is a bit dark on me, it's fine.
Just as with the 28F, I am not too keen on the way the straps adjust—from the top down, on the back side of the bra. But that is a small quibble. The straps themselves are slender enough—I think it's the (always failing) Curvy Kates I've tried where the straps seem to be a mile wide, but that's not the case here. They're also sort of slightly padded—it's not obtrusive or bulky, but there is more to them than the standard bra strap.
Now I really just need to figure out the size. As this one has what I consider a fairly obvious defect on one cup, I'll try for the 30 bands, much as I hate to, and see how they look. I do see that the horizontal lines in the band in this are not so bad as those in the F cup. That generally indicates 'too small', though I always wonder how much my spinal deformity affects that, as it definitely causes issues in clothing.
Overall, though, this is a lovely bra. IMO it would be nice if Cleo also released it in other colours once in a while! Read more 291 more words
Since this ^ I've learned the wires are too narrow for me.
