This sz 60J was too big, 1 to 1.5 cup sizes. I messed up my Breakout Bras conversion.
About me: * 60H or 60HH in Comexim (i own 6) * 28F in most UK brands * Very, very rarely UK 30E or Comexim 65H
About Onyks -
* Colors are beautiful. This was among my fav Comexim sets. * Adorable matching panties * Uniquely comfortable, especially compared to Comexim's padded styles
Didn't love:
* VERY inconsistent bra-to-bra on sizing * lace at the top may not lie flat, even in the true size. * mixed feelings about the boob shape ... a rounded, mound or pancake-ish look.
TLDR: Prepare to have to try and return ...this bra multiple times, to find the right fit.
Breakout Bras site notes the Onyks is very stretchy & recommends 1 band size low. I feel this is accurate.... kinda. I personally found 60 & 65 both seemed like they'd fit.
This blew me away because I am way small for a 30... I never met a single other Comexim 65 that was wearable - otherwise I was a solid 60. Yet somehow in unlined I took a 65. I actually own Comexim Sirene, a sister style unlined, in 65H.
Also I'll note, after a failed online order, I actually visited Breakout Bras physically so I tried on many different Onyks (and 100s of Comexims in general). The Onyks bands varied HEAVILY - all the Comexim bras vary, but Onyks was definitely the most obvious offender to me by a long shot. The fitting assistant even commented on how different various 28's seemed.
I think the unlined styles might just be extra inconsistent, even for Comexim. Be warned. Read more 168 more words
Well! I knew this probably would not work for me, but it was so lovely, I decided to try anyway. The gore is 2cms higher than my 3hcs, so it stabs me in the sternum. I have bent the wires forward a bit and that has put a stop to it. The whole bra is stretchy, band is by far the biggest I have ever received and the straps go nowhere near short enough. I have a fair bit of empty space and wrinkling fabric at the top of the cups. I am full on top but petite, perhaps a height issue. I do find if I pull the straps tighter, ...most of the space and wrinkling dissapears, but some wrinkling seems to be caused by the second layer of fabric at the cup sides, being bigger than the under layer? it causes a crease, which if I pull back the outer layer a little disappers. Quite hard to describe but see photos. I will stitch tighten this layer by stiching it over, by the wire, and I will shorten the straps.
Even with all the fit issues, I bloody love this bra đ The lace and trim are beautiful. It gives a natural shape and would be useful for certain types of clothing. I had no alterations and but wish I had asked for shorter straps, as previous reviewers of this bra have also found the straps too long. For reference I am full on top, close set, centre full, projected and have narrow roots. Edit - I have shrtoned the staps and pulled back some of the lace outer cup and stiched it to the wire casing. Easy to do and whilst the wrinkling and gaping is now mostly gone, I have discovered this bra lacks projection! If I scoop, I end up with a lovely space under my imf. Read more 198 more words
I had been eying this bra for a while on Breakout Bras, but wasn't sure what size to get since my previous Comexim/Breakout Bras purchase ( 70N - Comexim » Magic Plunge Bra (455) , labelled 32JJ ) was too small. I finally took the plunge and ordered this in an 32K. It's a little big, but the wires would be too narrow in the next size down. There is a bit of shape mismatch, which I always get with padded bras. The gore doesn't quite tack, and the top of the cup gapes a bit on my smaller breast. It's not visible even with clingy tops though. This bra is far more comfortable than the Comexim Magic I own. It's definitely a keeper in my book.
I decided to try a ready-to-wear Comexim plunge since I need a really narrow cup. I sure picked the wrong size! I think I'm normally a 34GG but my most recent measurement put me at 32G/GG (still searching for abtf). I got this from Breakout Bras and it was listed in UK sizing, so I ordered the 34H since I'd heard to go up a cup or 3. Well, I should have gone up several cup sizes!
The band was unwearable for more than a few minutes, but here's the thing - if I put it on backwards and upside down it was ...fine, so I don't need a bigger band. The cups were just WAY too small for me, causing the band to tighten and probably distort. I have some rib flares that were just not going to have it!
So, even though I can't keep this one, let me share some thoughts.
The quality looks great and the fabric feels nice. It provided a wonderful round shape. I can't be sure but it may have had enough projection at the wire to sit in my IMF. I think in the right cup size I could tell for sure. The gore sits short, as it should, and which I like. However, my boobs were way too squished together in this poor cup size. (I don't want or need butt-crack cleavage; I do like cakes on a plate.) The straps did cut into my TOS but again, possibly just due to size. The seams did show a bit under my thinnest white shirt, but not enough to bother me.
I have no idea what else to try from Comexim but you can bet I'll try something! Read more 183 more words
Oh wow, this is about what I look like in the Comexim Treasure (same cut) in 36J! I think I posted pictures for my 36JJ - Comexim » Basic Plunge Bra (170) but if not I can go do that now, in case you want to see what the very next size up would look like on you. Spoiler: It's equally bad, just in different ways.
Gorgeous. Lined, not padded. It's a slate grey base with yellow, soft blue and iridescent (blue/green/silver) embroidered 5, 8, 4 & 3 pointed flowers/leafs, along with an embroidered curling ribbon design of the soft blue. There is a mustard yellow bowtie at the top of the center gore. It seems like it may be a tad deeper at the apex that padded Comexims of similar size, and the straps are set too wide for me (as in every bra), which makes the straps and wings itch some days. Mine does have cookie pockets, the lining is a kind of fine mesh polyester and doesn't feel bad. The texture often shows under shirts, but it's been a while since I've work it out to check just how overt that is. The embroidery does continue partway up the strap and makes the straps only partially adjustable.
This bra's measurements have been altered
straps moved in 2 cm, cup height reduced, cookie pockets added
I ordered the Magic in a 32JJ back when I was wearing a 32H in the Panache Envy and the Elomi Morgan. When I tried it on, it was quad boob city. I went and tried on all my other bras, only to realize they were too small too. I went and got fitted, and turned out to need a 32J in the Panache Envy. Whoops! I'm hanging onto this in case I shrink back down, but thus far, my hopes have been in vain. Every once in a while, I convince myself to wear it, only to discover visible boob bulges through my shirt once at work.
This was my first bra that actually fit me well. I love the narrow wires and narrow, projected cups. I love the support of a bra with a 3 hook closure, and this is the first one I've found that doesn't have cups that rub my armpits raw. Even though it is an unlined bra, it gives a very nice shape and look under my clothes, even in thin tops. But then again, even at work I'm not too concerned about my nipples showing through my clothes. The only thing that I've found is that after a couple months of wear the band has stretched out to the point of it riding up my back even on the loosest hooks. It really is a bummer, I love this bra.
This is the first new shape I've tried in a while but I love my other Comexim's so I was hoping that this bra would be a hit! I got it from another user who had some adjustments made to it making it too small for her. I usually wear a 60H in Comexim. The basic has always run a half cup small but I usually still go for the 60H. This 60HH is very small for the tag sizing. I feel like it's on the small side of a 60H or even a 60G. The shape of this bra gives you some nice 'cakes on a plate' ...appearance. Because of that the fact that the cups are too small for me I get more... bang for my breast tissue buck in how it looks. I am glad I took the chance on this bra and even though it is technically too small in the cups, I will probably still keep it because it is beautiful, comfortable, and (I think) looks sexy in a subdued kind of way. Be warned though, you will want to size up if you are unsure of the sizing because even without adjustments this bra would be small for a 60HH. Read more 98 more words
I wish I had seen this review sooner. Recently purchased a 60J Basic HC from the BF sale and it's too small in the cups. :( Had no idea Basic runs half a cup small.
@katie166 I'm sorry that happened! Buying a specific bra and then having not fit is such a let down! I talked myself out of that sale. I convinced myself that I would hate the look of the bras in person or they would be all wrong because my last set of Comexims that I purchased are like 3 years old and they could have changed things. Did you get any good bras out of your purchase?
The Basic was the only one I got unfortunately. I'm a 28 band and located in Asia where no brand makes this size. So I'm used to not seeing a bra before I buy it and having to return often.
The second bra in my Polish adventure. I must have been spoiled when I tried on the 75DD - Ewa Michalak » 3d SzykuĆ (423) - the materials on this one are decent, but not particularly comfortable. The band feels rough and itchy. I tried it on briefly and was happy to take it off.
The fit is meh. The gore doesn't quite tack. There's significant gaping on my smaller side, and even a bit on my larger side. The straps are a bit too wide set for me, they don't have the stretch of the Szykus, and they're less comfortable. I do like the shape of this bra a little better than the Szykus - it's slightly more rounded. The wires are fine but the wings come up higher than I like and interfere with comfort.
** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurement is CUP HEIGHT. **
When a package from Poland arrives in the mail, it is truly a happy day. Incidentally, this second shipment from Comexim was sent out during the COVID crisis right before Comexim shut down production, but it somehow arrived more quickly than my order earlier this spring (25 days instead of 30 days).
The only customization I requested in this order was: Cup height reduced 1 cm, straps moved in 1 cm.
Since I am now so used to seeing my Comexim collection in 60H with no alterations (as a point of comparison, I am using my ...Ingrid Plunge in 60H as the standard for this size and cut), I was taken a bit by surprise to see how much smaller this altered Plunge with reduced cup height appeared at first. Even though I only asked for 1 cm cup height reduction, this creates a very noticeable visual change in the proportions of the bra, because the 1 cm is taken from the CENTER of the cup. Actually, because the gore height is maintained, the reduction is tapered, and you end up with more reduction at the outer cup, so it actually reduces the plunge effect and straightens out the cup a bit. The resulting height ends up very similar to that of the 60G, but straighter. If you want to maintain the same shape, you will need to ask for the gore to also be lowered by the same amount as the cup height reduction, but I am not sure if they can do this while maintaining the same wires.
However, one thing my alteration failed to address is that moving in the straps 1 cm is not enough, I need them moved in one full strap width, closer to 2 cm. The angle of the outer cup is still too vertical, so the outer cup still cuts into my underarm area. Despite the cup proportion now being similar to a 60G, the shape of this area is totally different in the 60G, which is angled inward much more steeply, and the straps are moved in further one whole strap width. I requested the straps moved in 1 cm, but they are still set too wide as they were only moved in about .5 cm. Plus, due to the lowered cup height, they are rubbing at a more uncomfortable spot on my body than the original 60H unaltered. I have emailed Joanna photos of this to see if I can request that the outer cup and strap placement be cut like the 60G, while keeping the same wires and cup depth as the 60H. Overall, the fit of this bra is almost there! Everything else in the cup and wires is perfect and measured consistently. Unfortunately, the strap placement is really uncomfortable in this bra. I tried wearing it strapless and halter style, but the problem is the cut of the outer cup just rubbing in the wrong spot, rather than the straps themselves.
The band on this bra is silky stretch knit overlaid with the zebra stretch lace that creates the layered look of this bra. The band on this style is also very firm. It fits, but it definitely feels quite snug. It's a bit longer than the Ingrid, but it feels tighter. The straps are a slightly textured black elastic with picot edges They are convertible, so my bra came with a second set. Note that the elastic loops arenât that tight, so my straps do slip off rather easily in my drawer, but Iâm sure they would be fine when worn. The only trim on this bra is a small square red ribbon bow. Visually, this bra reminds me a bit of the Ewa Michalak M Tango, or the Masquerade Angie I just picked up, though all 3 are totally different cuts.
Arizona is another nice quality bra from Comexim. So far, I have found the cups to be very consistent in all of my Comexim bras, while the bands can run a little tight. My recommendation is to order your normal size and add an extender if necessary, rather than trying to guess the stretch in the band and sister sizing up
Regarding alterations, I would definitely start out finding your normal size by ordering bras in the different cuts with no alterations, then work from there. Many people have said they can't tell if an alteration was done or not on their bra, but I had no problem when I compared my bra's appearance and measurements to standard bras in the same size from my collection. Ideally, I would be able to get the wires and depth of 60H with the cup height and strap placement of 60G in my perfect fit. I am looking forward to refining the fit and ordering more! This bra's measurements have been altered
Reduced cup height 1 cm, straps moved in .5 cm (but requested 1 cm)
Super comfortable bra. The whole thing: the stretch cups are almost silky soft - no rigid or itchy material to be found. The gorgeous lace has a mesh panel behind all the but the very tip tops. There's an additional seam on the side of the cup - which I believe is for side support, making this a four-part cup. (A sling? Not sure on the terminology) The straps are a supportive 1" thick and the 3 hook x 3 row back & band felt tts and comfy. I could have put it on the 2nd or 3rd row, but it was distending the cups, as they ...were clearly too small, but 1st row was fine too. The underwire is relatively soft for me, but not as soft as others, like the @Comexim Tara, which buckled right away. The gore was very narrow and on the low side - 3" I think? Seemed to give my very center full boobs enough room.
me: FOT/ Center full, wide roots (I think), softer tissue & relatively narrow frame.
I didn't expect such comfort to give me such a great shape, but overall it kept me up and rounded. Now, granted, I apparently need to go up at least one cup size, but overall I really liked this style. The pattern is beautiful in person - like someone sketched vines fulls of flowers in a soft bluish-gray pencil. Had some difficulties, but I suspect they're peculiar to my shape, so I'll be posting a fit request to troubleshoot.
Overall, it's a really beautiful and comfortable bra. This is easily the 30th bra I've tried in the last month, and by far the best fit/shape I've found for me, overall. I'll be returning it, but if I can find a better fit with a different size, I'll def be stocking up! Read more 201 more words
This bra runs 1-2 cup sizes small in the cups, but the band is true to size. I normally wear UK 34FF or occasionally a 34G; this one is a 75J (34GG). This is consistent with the information on Breakout Bras, where I ordered it.
As long as youâre sure to order the correct size, this is a great bra. It is similarly narrow in the cups and gore to the Ewa Michalak SF style so itâs a good choice if you have a narrow, projected shape. This one doesnât provide quite as much upward lift as my Ewa SF, but it does provide very good lift and shaping. The stretch lace is very soft and hasnât been obvious under a T-shirt for me so far.
I recommend trying this bra if youâve been curious about Polish bras or are looking for an unlined bra that works with a narrow, projected shape.
Holy boobies out on display! Whatâs up you say? Oh nothing, just my boobs lol. After buying a lot of three piece soft cup bras, I figured it was time to add a half cup bra to my collection. I do love the look at times but hadnât owned one in a long while. I went with my somewhat usual Comexim size of 65J/30GG....and itâs a wee too small. If I have my arms down the cup just fits. But if I bring my arms back I get quad-boob. Plus if this bra decided to slide down just a bit Iâd have a nip-slip. Iâve reordered in a ...30K to see if I can get a better fit. I just pray the wires arenât wider. Iâve had a little weight gain, but not much. But I guess enough to affect how my moulded cup bras are fitting. Purchased in the color black. The straps are a wonderful smooth elastic. The cups are a three piece construction with two vertical seems up the cup. The top of the cup has a thin lace like edging detail and two small black bows where the straps meet the cup. There is a black bow on the center gore. The backband is one layer of power mesh. There elastic is pretty evenly distributed on top and bottom of the band. The back closure is a 3x3 with all hardware being black. Itâs very comfortable and the straps spaced really well. I just hope I can get a more contained fit with the next cup up. Read more 153 more words
I love how comfortable Comexim bras are out of the box. It looks good, but I hope the 30K fits you better.
Wilderness1 Yes! I definitely appreciate comfort! Itâs one of the things that keeps me coming back to the brand for moulded cup bras. I just hope the K cups fit. I really hate having to return and rebuy items. Or sell. I just donât have the energy for it at the moment.
I definitely think 3HC puts them on display. Most people size up in the 3HC from the plunge.
Do you find that the 3HC bras put them on display more than plunges?
Calluna Iâm going to try sizing up in the cup to see if I can get a more comfortable fit.
dtane18 Since I feel this bra runs small in the cup, Iâm going to compare it to my Comexim basic plunge in 65J. Iâm going to say that this bra pushed them up, while the plunge style pushes them in.
Elena has Comexim's standard plunge style pattern, so nothing really to note in terms of cut. I bought this model mainly to compare it to Comexim's other beige plunge, Comexim Basic Plunge Bra (170). They are cut the same and only differ in terms of fabric, colour, and embellishment.
The Elena has a mesh later over the cups and band whereas the Basic has a regular overlay fabric.
The Elena is slightly darker and more yellow-toned than the Basic.
This bra and all of the others I received from Comexim recently come with four columns of hooks instead of the usual three I used to recieve.
For reference, I am projected, FOB, center full, narrow roots, and petite (4'11"). I initially purchased this bra in size 28G (too big) with the intent of returning it after figuring out my Breakout Bras Comexim size. After seeing the beautiful blue, gray, and black feather diamond design, I couldn't help but order it again in size 28FF. I'm a huge sucker for anything blue!
The wires are placed a little too wide, but I expected that from an unaltered Comexim. Besides that, this bra fits me well. The cups seem to be shorter compared to my Ingrid, and it works a lot better for me. The cups are ...nicely projected and give a great shape under clothes. Similar to my other Comexim from Breakout Bras (Andromeda 28FF), the cups are a little small but 28G is for sure too big.
The wings are also 1cm lower than my other Comexims so I have less coverage, but they don't bother my armpits which is more comfortable. The wires are narrow, soft, and don't poke me at all. The band is a true 60cm (53cm unstretched, 63cm stretched) and comfortable around my ribs. The gore tacks perfectly.
This bra and the 28G I ordered previously came with an overlapping gore and 4x2 hooks, so it seems to be the normal design for this specific bra. This is absolutely my new favorite Comexim! Read more 120 more words
I don't understand how such small cup (19cm) fits your breast perimeter (23cm)...
This is such a pretty bra, and it looks great on you. Glad the 28FF worked better than the 28G. I love Comexim bras :)
Glad you found a winner! Your pics show the color as being way more pretty than on the website. Lovely colored. It almost has an Art Deco pattern vibe going on. Love it.
Happy2BraShop I agree, it's way prettier in person! I wasn't planning on getting this bra at first, because I couldn't tell what kind of fabric it was based on the website photos.
Thank you Wilderness1! Comexim has really won a place in my (bra) heart!
I was already eyeing this because I'm also a sucker for blue. Now I want to even more! I cannot wear unaltered Comexim though, so I'm waiting on my order with my next attempted alterations before I get any more lol
Orange_Kate I think because itâs ever so slightly small for her. Cup on one side looks like it might be spilling just a wee bit, and the lower wings also reveal a little more side breast tissue/side boob. Itâs not major, and if itâs more comfortable than the size up (which did show gapping on one side iirc), this is probably the better one to go with.
Yes Calluna, you're absolutely right! I didn't notice it before, but the wings are 1cm lower than my other Comexims. I do find it more comfortable though and just like my Andromeda 28FF from Breakout Bras, the cups are a little too small but 28G is too big. I guess I'm just in between sizes for Breakout Bras' Comexims.
Orange_Kate the other thing is Comeximâs foam cups do stretch a bit so you can get away with wearing a bit smaller than your perimeter because it will stretch to accommodate a bit. Something to keep in mind about this kind of padded bra!
How does the shape of the Piume compare to the Basic plunge?
As I opened the box I'm praying that they will fit (thinking they will be to big) as you can tell by the pictures that clearly wasn't an issue. Band is very tight but wearable. Cups are too small without a doubt. Ironically the gore actually sits better on this one then the plunge I got. Will see about sending back for next size up.
Great bra love the pattern band fits great and cups are alright but gore won't sit flat at all. May try next size up to see if that corrects the issue.
The first thing I noticed when I first put this bra on is how pretty it is on my skin tone. It really is a lovely bra.
I mark this bra as a fit because the 'issues' I have in it are common to all the bras I have. Too wide wires, not sitting in my IMF. The wires are a bit more narrow than most of my other bras, though, so that's a plus. However, I would like the gore to be a bit higher to better accomodate my soft breast tissue. Also, I can't tell if it's just Comexim's different-than-most sizing or the shape of the bra, but I do have a little bit of gaping in the cups near the straps.
The material of this bra is very soft but still supportive. Overall, I think you'll like this bra if your breasts are similar to mine.
Edit: Also, thank you to Happy2BraShop for inspiring me to try this bra out!
*Update: Since the wires were too narrow, I went ahead and bent them out to be the exact width I wanted, 5.5 inches. Now the cup fits much better. Center gore doesnât tac, but since this is a bathing suit Iâm not too worried about it. I can say that even tho the band âfitsâ and us comfortable, I really could have sizes down to a 28/60 band in this one.
This is a fabulous bikini top that I can pretty much wear with any color or patterned bottoms. I do have to say, the wires in this bikini top are very narrow, at 5â wide. This definitely ...makes the cup very projected. It also runs a little narrow and short on the sides. I could size up in the cup on this one. But since the cups come up high enough in the front I donât feel the need to go through the hassle to exchange. I can easily bend over to handle my toddler without any fear of flashing anyone. Technically itâs narrow, but doesnât bother me. Itâs still very comfy and will serve its purpose as a bikini top. I love the stiffer construction of the cups, so I can easily slide the straps down to get some sun on my shoulders. The fabric overlay on the outer side of the cup has a gathered look on the center of the cuo and looks cute but basic. Band is a little stretchy for a 30 band, but not an issue for me. Straps are nice, thick and comfy. Straps are fully adjustable. I definitely appreciate having a bikini that doesnât tie around the neck! Read more 169 more words
