I have a full review of this bra on my blog http://curvywordy.blogspot.com/2012/01/curvy-kate-princess-in-wine-and-in.html

In summary it is a lovely bra but sadly it was not a good fit for me in band or cup in the sizes I tried. I am hoping to try other sizes though as I think my correct fit is still out there somewhere!

It's a very pretty style with polka dot cups (the dots have a velvety feel to them which is very tactile) and the lower half of the cups is double lined for extra support.

The cups were too wide for me - my preference is definitely for a narrower but deeper cup.

The central gore laid flat on me and the underwires did not poke at all.

Overall a very comfortable bra despite being the wrong size.

    Didn't fit

I was really hoping this bra would be the answer to all my frustrations! I had heard that this was on the small side and as I am finding most of my 28ffs seem a bit too small, thought therefore 28g in this might be perfect. But unfortunately not. Whilst the 28ff was definetely too small, the 28g wasn't right either. It was too high under my arms and I wasn't filling out the top of the cups properly (which is often the case for me - maybe because I am short???). Also the shape was a bit funny. In the 28ff ... the shape is really lifted and round (although it didn't fit) but in the 28g I felt my breasts were sitting too low and I had to make the strap really tight to lift them high enough which became a bit uncomfortable. (so far all the Curvy Kate and Flirtelle styles I have tried seem to be similar fit for me - i.e. they don't seem right! - which is unfortunate as they make really pretty styles and there bands are perfect for me)

This is such a pretty bra! I am so sad it doesn't fit me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I think the shape is just all wrong for me. The straps are much too wide set, and there is not enough support in the cups (in addition to them being too small) so my boobs are saggy and overflowing. The placement of the seam between the thicker, lined lower portion of the cup and the thinner, unlined upper portion hits much too low and winds up creating a sort of square shape to my boob where the lower portion goes down and then at the ... seam the go straight up as they press against the thinner upper portion of the cup. (Though this effect is not as bad in the Princess as in the Emily I tried on.) I honestly really like how the lower/outer (thicker) portion of the cup fits, but it just drops the ball above that. I think this bra will work better for someone with perkier boobs with more of their own rounded shape, and/or someone with much wider shoulders.

The bra does seem like if it fit well it would be quite comfortable. It is nice and light-feeling (although I wonder if it's too light-weight to stand up to really big boobs) and very sexy and pretty.

Like other reviewers I've seen, I suspect if I could get this several cup sizes bigger and tighten the straps up I could get it to fit much better. I would really need something like a 32LL or so for this to really fit well. Curvy Kate, your sizing makes me very sad https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

This bra almost worked for me, but not quite.

I bought it in aqua and really like the colour and the contrasting embroidery. It also gave a nice, natural rounded shape. The material feels nice on the skin and not itchy. I also like that it doesn't have the ribbon detail on the top edge of the cup like the Curvy Kate Angel because it allows the top edge to stretch a bit without cutting in.

The bra didn't really work for me mainly due to overall fit. I was easily able to fasten the bra on the tightest set of hooks, so if you generally wear 30s you might also want to try this in a 28. I also found the straps too wide which also caused the outer side edge of the cup (where it begins to go under the arm) to cut into my armpit. I don't think I'll try the 28G since I foresee the same problem. It's too bad since I was really hoping this would work.

I own this bra in Ivory and love it, in part because it fits me very well. Unfortunately the fit is not the same in this colourway (Wine/Navy). The cups are considerably smaller and cut in at the top and sides. Otherwise, it is very pretty to look at, the straps sit well and are fully adjustable and the wires do not poke. If I could size down in the band I would, but I find this with all the Showgirl collection and the bras are still wearable for me, they will just not last me as long once they stretch.

Thanks to other reviews on here I was ... aware of the sizing discrepancy between the colours and ordered this one in a 28FF and a 28G. See my other reviews concerning other colours/sizes! Between the two sizes I ordered in this colour I noticed some quality issues. For starters, one of the two was missing the central bow, suggesting they are either not attached strongly or there was a manufacturing error. There are also lots of loose threads where the cup joins the band and one of the ribbons running across the cups is too long and bunches up.

  8. Elegance Plunge Bra (CK1401)

This is a simple black satin plunge bra. It looks very sexy but it's great for everyday wear too.

The band sizing is more comparable to non-padded Curvy Kate bras than to the Showgirl range, which is good for me as the Showgirl bras I always find too loose. The band on this is just right on the loosest hook. I usually have to size up with plunge bras, and this one is no exception. The G cup (instead of my usual FF) is a nice fit, comfortably encasing my boobs and pushing them together for a bit of cleavage. The only problem with the cups, and part of ... the reason I had to size up, is that they are very shallow at the base and about a centimetre of fabric just next to the underwire lays flat against my chest. I have bottom-heavy breasts and I've had this issue on several plunge bras, sometimes causing me to pop out, but with this one the issue is very minor and I haven't had any popping out problems! The wires under the armpits are a good height to prevent side boob, but not so high they dig in. The wires at the front come very low so they cause no problem at all and won't show under a low-cut top.

The bra is very comfortable to wear all day long and the band is quite firm so you feel supported. The lace detailing on the edge of the cups is quite thick but flat to the bra so it would only show under a tight, stretchy t-shirt. Overall, a very nice bra.

    28GG

    Didn't fit

I like this bra, which is why I've bought it in the wrong size (twice in fact, measurements of the other incorrect size to be entered soon!). The 28GG certainly gives the illusion of fitting from the front, as I appear to fill the cups with no overspill. However, the cups actually extend a few centimetres further around the sides than my breast tissue does. This illusion of a good fit is caused by the bra being a moulded, padded style, which I always find covers up a bad fit pretty well. Like the whole Showgirl range, the band is stretchier than standard Curvy Kate bras and ideally ... I'd like a 26 band as I find a tight fit more comfortable.

I find this bra very comfortable to wear but sadly it does not create a good shape for me. I do not have any cleavage with this bra, but I usually do with most plunge styles. It flattens me out as I find the cups quite shallow and the cups come up high on the chest.

Even though I appear to be incompatible in size and shape with this bra, I will continue to wear it as it is so comfortable and pretty. For me the 28G is a better fit (I usually wear a 28FF), although still causes the same shape issues

    • Hi, I noticed that you've tried both the Wild and the Tempt Me. Are they basically the same shape? I want to get the Wild because it's gorgeous but the Tempt Me is too wide-set for me so I fall out the middle. Does the wild have more coverage in the center? Thanks!

    • Yes, they're exactly the same cut unfortunately :(

  10. Angel Balcony Bra (CK1201)

I bought this with the 28FF for size comparison and I found the band on this one to fit more comfortably. The cups also fit great, the centre is lower than my current favourite (http://bratabase.com/browse/panache/andorra-5675/30F/) which I like since I have wide breasts. I do have minimal puckering, but it isn't really a huge issue, since it otherwise fits fine and I can't see it under clothes. As usual the puckering is worse on the left, but I'm also smaller on the left.

Other than that, I find that it gives a pretty natural shape and the embroidery is really nice. This is the type of bra I want to show off. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Update: I think I'm going to have to relegate this bra for my cotton blouses. I'm getting a really pointy shape on my smaller side and I think it's because I can't fill the cup all the way so the top edge is pushing down.

  11. Ella Balcony Bra (CK1301)

I bought this bra in navy. I love the contrasting yellow and orange embroidery, and I also like the embroidery on the cups. The bow detailing is really pretty as well. The cups are made of mesh, and the bottom half has lining on the inside.

In terms of fit, before I even fastened the bra, I knew the cups were too narrow. Once the bra is fastened, the cups do stretch so I was able to fill up the cups no problem. The band felt fine, it was nice and snug but not tight.

Overall, the bra is gorgeous and it fit great. The problem is with the wires; they were poking me pretty badly. I could feel the pressure. I think it may be because the wires are trying to pull back to their original shape, but to be honest I'm not really sure.

So close. So close, I feel like if I just keep fiddling with the straps, tweaking the wire, readjusting my breasts, there must be a way to make it work. But it's just not quite right, and unless a miracle happpens in the wash sometime I don't think it ever will be.

The band is too tight. The wires don't go high enough under the arm, and poke into my sides. I'm not sure what's going on in the cups.

If the straps are loosened enough to for the top edge to lie flat along the top of the breast, the cups wrinkle at bottom. If I ... pull the straps tight enough to support the breast from below, the cups wrinkle towards the strap and quadboob appears at the top edge. I can find a compromise between these points, but the band is still too tight.

I think my breasts are just too soft for this style. It's a cute design, but it doesn't provide the support I need and I'm not sure the actual "criss-cross" part can look right on breasts that aren't very full on top.

    Fits

I have this bra in blue/yellow. There are few bras that fits me better than this one! My breasts are nicely rounded, perfectly separated while still retaining a little cleavage, and it keeps its shape all day long. The only minor issue is that I can get, after wearing it for hours, an ever so slightly spillage at my larger breast, but it's down towards the center gore, and not visible under clothes. This is no T-shirt bra, and the lace will show under the thightest fitting clothes, but I've worn it under fairly fitted clothes with no show-through. The material is very comfartable, with no itching.

The colour combination isn't the most elegant I've ever seen, but at least it's fresh and fun.

Oh good god this was painful! The tightness of the band is something i could deal with, but the tips of the underwires all dug into my ribs. (and that was without breathing in). I like the embroidery and bow details. The cups are just too deep and too narrow for me. I'm quite disappointed with the dimensions of the cups, i had planned to buy more from their range as they have such pretty colours.

    • I guess I should've read your review before trying the Ella bra and Flirtelle's Petal. I too really like the way CK's bras look but ran into the same problem: painful. I even tried an extender, though I never really thought the band was too tight, and actually it made the tips of the underwires dig in even more as the band rode up my back.

While the experience was a painful exercise in futility it's comforting to know I wasn't the only one who ran into this problem.

The gore lays flat on my sternum, but I feel like it pressed in too much. I am very aware of it all the time. Something in the back of the band is a little irritating, but I'm not sure what. This bra really pushes my boobs east-west, and I'm not the biggest fan of the look. My boobs are close set, so this may contribute to the pressure the gore places on my sternum.

The underwire stays in my IMF (pro), but it reaches all the way to my back. I have narrow roots so I wish the underwire didn't go as far back.

The underwire is too wide and reaches my back. It pokes my ribcage and is uncomfortable. I have close set breasts and narrow roots so this is a big problem for me.

The fabric of the bra cups is really soft. The gore touches my sternum.

The cups are too tall and cuts into my armpit.

    Alteration:
I lowered the cup height and moved the straps inwards. My armpits feel better, but this bra is still uncomfortable because the underwires are way too wide for my close set breasts
Don't worry. My photos are from before I altered it!

I'm on a hunt for a nice one-piece swimsuit and wrapsody came highly recommended but honestly, I should have known this would be less than ideal.

As long as the 'wrap' part of the wrapsody is wrapped around my neck, I will say that it doesn't fit half bad. However, as soon as the wrap comes down, so do the cups, they pretty much collapse and literally slide down, and the boobs sag comically. They should have added removable bra straps to this so that us with large chest can also wear the wrap under the boobs. I'm considering doing it myself heh. It's just bad design.

I doubt I could swim in this.

Otherwise it is very pretty and I imagine on a smaller chest looks absolutely beautiful.

    • The reason I never tried this style was that the fear that it won't do much in support if you don't do up the wrap. They should add extra straps. Most strapless bras come with a set of straps to remove if you want. To counter act gravity a strapless needs to be firm and tight (aka uncomfortable ) and that is not what you want in a swimsuit.

I had the non wired plunge swimsuit and it was suprisingly supportive even in JJ cup. They still make this style in other colours I think. 34J/JJ - Curvy Kate » Poolside Non Wired Plunge Swimsuit (CS010

I got bra from another user (possibly WildWolf?) a while back. I had lost weight and was maybe 15lbs lighter then so this bra fits much differently a year or so later. I havnt had luck with some other curvy Kate bras, Often with wires being too wide/cups being too shallow but this one’s not bad. It does cut in, more so on my larger side, so I think a 28GG or 30G might fit better (barring any issues like too tall wires at the gore) Not a perfect fit and maybe a little shallower than I need, but still a comfortable bra I have in rotation.
