Edit: the band of this bra is very uncomfortable, so I returned it.
I'm so glad I tried out both the 30D and 30DD. I thought the 30D was a decent fit, and that I might need to get a C cup for more cleavage. But the 30DD is perfect for me. Not much cleavage for my shallow wide breasts, but the cups are great, they're wide enough and there's no gaping. This bra looks amazing under a tee, I've never had a non wired bra that gave me thus much projection. It looks just like a padded wired bra, or maybe even better now that I'm finally finding my true size https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I'll need to wear this for a day to decide if it's as comfy as it feels when just putting it on.
I haven't had this bra long, but it's a bra that's like my favorite pairs of shoes: immediately comfortable. Comfortable for the entire duration of use, from early morning to late at night. No break in needed! It gives me a nice, round up-front shape; smooth under all shirts. The underwires are quite wide, perfect for my shape but not great if you're narrow-rooted and/or FOT. I do have an extender on the band and maybe could wear a 32H, but the cup here is a perfect fit and the 30 band feels otherwise perfectly placed to take the weight of my FOB, slightly pendulous breasts (center full-ish). The gore tacks and causes no pain. The cups contain all my tissue and side boob. The band stays put. I bought two more colors after one day of wearing because I've been searching for my right size for months. Not a 'sexy' bra but it's very sexy to have a comfortable, fitting, supportive bra so...
Actually this bra didn't fit me at all first. The band was too loose for me and the gore didn't lie flat between my breasts. But after washing it became a little bit tighter. And now it almost fits. The band is ok, the gore lies flat. But still the straps are too wide for me. I'm narrow, so this model is not quite good for narrows, that's why the top of the cup doesn't lie perfect.
The best strapless bra fit I have found of 4. That might not be saying a lot. But I have worn it out. It stays in place and there is minimal gaping.
My usual size is 30E, but I think 30F may be the best fit I get. The cups are tall and much too wide, but the amount the top seam cuts in is minimal compared with other strapless bras I have tried. Through some witchcraft it does stay firmly in my IMF.
No bra makes me look this busty. It's odd. I guess its the large moulded cups, in part. They disguise some fit issues. It sucks because suddenly I'm too busty for the tops I wanted to use a strapless bra with, like one with buttons up the front.
I figure I will use it with a dress I've been dying to wear and a few other outfits this summer. It is good enough.
When I got this bra, I had just been sized by an actual fitter. It was the first bra I bought on my own in my new, non-Victoria's Secret Size. So, I was naive, and my problems with the bra are more my fault than with the quality of the bra. This bra doesn't work for my shape. I'm full in the center and bottom with narrow roots. It gives me a weird shape, there's gapping on the top, and spill-over in the middle. The straps are a good thickness and it does feel secure without feeling caged in.
I feel like the cups on the 28F Patsy I tried were narrower. These are very wide on me so it doesn't work. I would also do well with a tighter band. Feels softer and more comfy than the Patsy I had. Possibly a difference in wash and wear between the two though.
I'm generally not a fan of florals or pink, but I have been coming around to limited amounts of pink, provided they don't have a warm/peachy undertone. (Because orange hue looks awful on me.)
So, when I saw this pattern I was surprised to be drawn to it (I do like palm and vine prints), and decided it was time to try out the Freya padded half cup again, especially since I missed out on the Zentangle.
Well. Had I tried the Zentangle I would know then that I'd be entering square quadbood disaster. Seriously.
The cup is incredibly wide and flat. I could not get the wires to sit in ...my IMF, and the cups turned my boobs into a wall; flat up front, boobs pushed to the side, with spillage up top. Lots of empty space where the straps connected, the gore tacks at the bottom but tilts away at the top.
Visually, the print is excellent. I love the color combo, and as a lightly lined bra the bra is ... well super light! (nothing like my EMs). The straps weren't incredibly wide either. The gore is also not nearly as high as what I usually experience, and while the bra was comfy it just looked awful on me. I am going to exchange for the 34GG plunge version.
Sadface, this probably means the Freya Fancies longline will also be a disaster for me, so unless I can find a place to try on locally, I'll have to take a pass. Read more 142 more words
just a personal thing, esp when you say the cup is wide, i'd love a pic where I can see the side of the bra, where the wires end. Gives me a better feel of the width.
dbmamaz I added an inside view of the cup with tape measure, and one of the side views I took. It's blurry, so I wasn't going to upload it. I don't normally do photos, so I didn't think to check before taking it off.
Yeah, once i've taken pics its hard to motivate to put it all together again, esp if i'm not keeping it!
This bra is definitely too projected for me and too full on top. The band is very stretchy (had to put it on the tightest hook) and the straps feel too wide for me. Such a shame because it feels like a very well made bra and it's super cute.
I would say the main problem I have with this bra is the cups come up to high under my armpits. There is a lot of extra fabric there (and after one wear, it was completely coated in deodorant that can't be removed). Another issue is the really thick straps have to be completely tightened to fit me. I think this is probably a great bra for someone with a larger frame than I have. It doesn't seem to work for me- I have a short torso. Too bad so sad.
This bra is cute but it is not my shape at all. The wires are really, really wide even for me and it's very shallow. The gore and the cups come up way too high. The only good thing about this bra is that it covered my center fullness but at the same time it gaped on the outer part because it's such a tall bra.
This bra is gorgeous and unique! I love the houndstooth details and metallic stitching on the cups. It's bright and fun without being over the top. Unfortunately I found 30E Vixen to run large in the cup - 9.5" deep with a typical loose Freya band. The top of the cup still lays pretty flat on me, it just seems to want more apex projection and overall fullness than I have maybe. So it might not be great for Full on top. I would love to try this bra in 28E or 30DD.
I've been obsessed Freya bras lately. So many unique patterns, colors, and styles like this one! Got my eye on the Zentangle now. I fit pretty well into the Ooh La La plunge so I think there is still hope despite this Vixen not working.
Thanks for this review and measurements. I've been looking for this same bra. Now I think the cups will be too deep for me as well in this size. I want to try a Freya balcony, but the sizing seems all over the place.
This bra is IT. Of all the Freya padded half cups I've tried, this one hands down has the best (shortest) cup height for me. I have shorter roots and pendulous tissue and the Thimble Cottage open/short cup is perfect for my shape. I love the pattern--it's feminine but not overly girly, and the lace details are perfect. I wish all of Freya's half cups were this short! Stretchy band, as is status quo for Freya, and the shorter gore also works well with my shape. My only complaint is that the undersides of the straps are hard to clean. They have a woven layer, and if some grime gets on there--sunblock, lotion, skin cells, etc.--it can be hard to scrub off. I can't be mad though, since the woven layer makes the straps soft and comfortable. I love it.
OVERALL RATING: 5/10 DESERVING PRICE: £10-20 BEST FOR: Moderately wide roots; teenagers and young girls with developing breasts; potentially trans women; moderately shallow breasts; projected breasts (size up); everyday wear; fuller-breasted or FoT people who want tavern cleavage.
Freya Patsy is an underwired, lightly padded half-cup bra that comes in lots of colours and patterns, but this one is black and a sort of dusky pink-beige. The lace is a few shades lighter than the polka dots, which are almost beige-brown. The ribbon on the gore matches the lace colour rather than the dots. It doesn't suffer from any manufacture issues, but the fabric feels a little cheap in an ...'organza'-like way. It's a low-to-mid range, and I'd expect to pay somewhere in the range of £10-£20 in a boutique for this bra.
PROS:
LOOKS: Comes in a bazillion styles, you'll find one you like. Very pretty and dainty. Extremely flexible cups due to very light padding. Beautiful bra for teens and younger girls. Excellent quality sewing and manufacture.
COMFORT AND FIT: Comfy inner lining. Comfy gore, quite long - so not good for girls with short nip-to-neck lengths. Band runs tighter than Freya usually does, but quite flexible. The straps on this bra are a good distance apart, so they will not poke into your armpits or scratch your skin.
CLEAVAGE: This bra will give fierce cleavage for fuller, rounder breasts, and good cleavage for shallow breasts too. Close-set, projected, full breasts will get true ‘tavern Wench’-style cleavage from this bra. Projected breasts will look better in this bra, but shallower breasts will be comfier (due to the shape of the cups).
CONS:
QUALITY ISSUES FABRIC: the outer fabric of this bra is awful. I personally find it scratchy and cheap-feeling. It feels like a softer organza. The lace on the upper section of the cups sometimes scratches the cleavage uncomfortably - it is not soft, and therefore not good for girls with skin sensitivity issues or eczema.
FIT ISSUES STRAPS: The straps on this bra are a good and wide. Unfortuantely, because they are so wide and because of the scratchy fabric, they can feel a little scritchy when you lean forward or stretch. The inside of the strap has a running stitch to secure the fabric, and this can be a little scratchy too. They are a good length, and so the cup does not tend to gap dramatically when you move.
CUPS: This is a half-cup bra, but the cut seems more like a balconette to me. The cups are open at the top, which will inevitably lead to gaping issues for girls who aren't Full on Top. I can't comment on cleavage in this bra, because I found that even when swoop and scooped, whilst not minimising, it doesn't seem to give good cleavage at all. Fuller breasted girls may find that they love this bra for cleavage, but shallower girls will find it extremely hit-and-miss. I think this bra would make an excellent everyday bra for girls with more projected breasts.
WIRE: The wire is moderately wide, but because the cup is only light padded, it doesn't seem to give much support by way of wide roots. It isn't the best for girls with wide roots, and will give you armpit muffin (damn you, armpit muffin) in tandem with its average-sized band. Girls with normal roots might find some empty space at the sides. The cup-strap join is not too high, so if you're looking for something to wear with low-cut scoop necks, this might work for you.
FABRIC/PATTERN: The lace sticks up a little haphazardly, and does show through and deform tight and light-coloured shirts when I wear it. GORE: This bra has a relatively high degree of cup separation (distance between the cups), which could be a problem for girls with close-set breasts, and may cause the gore to dig into your breast tissue painfully.
ABOUT ME MY BREASTS: wide roots, moderately full on top, moderately shallow; 30G-32FF
Regarding the material, I have had this bra in 4 colorways. The magenta is the softest, then the ballet pink, then ink, and the black has the roughest outer fabric and runs firmer than the others.
Yeah, I have the unpadded version in pink and it's SO much softer. My main complaint with this bra is its fabric, so I think if it was a better fit for me I'd be inclined to try the other colours
The Freya halfcups have generally treated me well, bit I might have sized up (put on enough weight) to need a 28f these days. I am somewhat shallow to averagely projected, and very wide and tall rooted. I think I might like a tiny bit more projection here and a little more width would not hurt either. The bra itself is very pretty. Many would be thrilled to hear that the straps are fully adjustable. My boobs are very close set and you can see in the pic that even though the wires are practically touching at the top, one is still resting on boob. It's not uncomfortable though.
Just got it, seems to be perfect! Gives me round and uplifted shape with nice cleavage. That's silly, but I was dreaming about having this bra, so couldn't resist to buy it, when it was overpriced... And it fits!
As far, I was wearing 32FF by Fantasie on the tightest hook and 65I by AVA, so it seems to be true to the size.
edit: I bought this bra as new (January, 2017). It seems, that they improved it, cause the band is very snug and I even wish it was more stretchy... Cause as I am a singer and a sports lover, my ribs expand from 65 cm on the exhale ...to 80 cm on the inhale and I feel like I can not breathe as deeply as I want to with this bra on. The band is longer than my other bras has in the size of 30, but it barely stretches to 77 cm (my inhale is 80 cm). I definitely can not sing freely wearing it, hope it will stretch a little. That's funny, cause 32 bands usually ride up and don't give me enough support.
The other issue is that after a few hours it starts gaping a little bit on the sides and top (about 2 mm), but still makes the cleavage. The gaping doesn't show under the clothes. I have no idea if this is normal with molded cups, always have it. More or less, but it usually happens. Read more 133 more words
Looks fantastic! I really like the minimalist details on this bra. Simply gorgeous :-)
yeah, me too :) I love everything about the way it looks! And thank you :)
It's a great bra and looks very good on you. I have one in blue with black polka dots and I'm bummed that I can't get another Deco in my new size. I'm a little envious!
Yeah, in changing size the thing that bras stop fitting sucks the most... Especially, when we fall out of the size range of our favorite models then. Hope they will include your size soon!
I thought this will be like Freya's padded bras but apparently it's more like the non padded ones. It's way too big, both in the cups and in the band. Actually the band is ridiculously big, it measures 65 cm without stretching and stretches easily to 86 cm. It rides up even on the tightest hooks. There's a lot of empty space in the cups. It's nice that straps are fully adjustable but, as always in Freya's bras, they are too long for me. Cups are made of soft and very thin fabric. Overall, it's a nice bra. It is minimalistic but looks great. I would love to try it in my correct size but I'm afraid that 28 band would still be too big.
Thanks for a good review! Since I just found my real bra size I've been wanting to try Freya, its good to know that the band runs big on this bra.
I see you tried @Freya's @DecoFuse, can you remember, did it run true to size? I'm on the small side of 30:07 a 30F UK, and I was worried that the cups might run big like on the @Deco. Thank you!
Vintagelady The Deco Fuse may seem to run big in the cups as they are, in my opinion, quite open on top but it may fit in your usual size as well. I think it depends on your shape. Unfortunately, I haven't tried the original Deco. To me, the Fuse was similar to the Deco Vibe and Delight but there is a significant difference in the way the cup edges fit - in my Fuse they stick out(?). I can't explain this properly, even in Polish, but this trimming doesn't lie flat on my breasts and it can be visible under clothing. I think you can see it on my pictures. I haven't tried the smaller size to determine if this is a construction or a size issue, so I don't know if the 30E would fit without quadding. And you could also want to size down in the band as mine measures 64 cm and stretches to 77, so it's more like the 32 than the 30.
Thanks for replying!
Hmm, that's what I wondered. I'd definitely want to size down in the band, 32 is pretty loose.
As for the cups gaping, you explained it nicely, I've had that before, it was only on one of two bras that were the same. I don't know what causes the flare, but I do know that the bra that curled out was bigger that the other, (both were supposedly 34C US).
30E may be the size I should try for Deco Fuse, I'm full on top though, so I'm not sure if that would cause the quadding you mention or just stop the edge from curling. I don't want to get it if it will flare out, that defeats the purpose of a t-shirt bra. ;)
Do you recommend the Deco Vibe and Delight?
Vintagelady Definitely :) The Vibe and the Delight both have the trimming, but it doesn't cause any problems. I needed to size down in the band in both, but I've kept my 30F as they were really cheap. I have one Delight in 28FF, and it's a perfect fit, now I wouldn't buy any of them in 30F :P I think that they could work as a t-shirt bra (better than the Fuse for sure), but keep in mind that these Decos have this thick edging, so it's not completely invisible under clothing. I don't mind this, and the Delight in 28FF is one of my favourite bras at the moment.
As for the Fuse cups, I didn't want to write that the cups curl out as it could be understood wrongly, like they did this only when I'm wearing the bra. But they just are this way. I wouldn't say it's a gaping, it's only this stupid stiff trimming. I compared the Deco Fuse with my Deco Charm and they were the same in every dimension, I don't know why this bra fits differently, really. And that's why I have a problem with explaining this :). I mentioned trying the smaller size as there's a possibility that one could fill out the cups better and the edges wouldn't look like this, but to be honest, I doubt it's a size-related issue. I think it's a construction fail or the shape mismatch as I am not full on top, more like even. Or maybe this particular bra is faulty. When I posted this Fuse on the Polish bra site, the users told me that some Decos just behave like this, and there's no point in sizing down.
Oh, I think I meant that a 28 band would be better than 30 since it runs big, does a 28FF fit like the 30f should? Do Delight and Vibe both run a little lose like Fuse?
That is good to know, I think unless I see a really good deal for the deco fuse I'll try a different one for starters. I like the look of Deco Vibe. It looks comfy.
Vintagelady Yes, they both run big in the band. I am somewhere between the 30F and the 28FF, and I feel that this 28FF is my perfect fit.
That's really helpful, I think as I'm on the small side of 30f, I like to try a 28f, and see how that is. If it's like a 30e, it would probably work for half of the month. ;)
Sigh. This doesn't remotely work for me. My under bust is 28". This bra would fit better on a 32"-34" under bust.
The band is so bleeping loose it blows in the wind, provides zero support, and is useless except that the cups attach to it. It is a waste of fabric on my 28" under bust. The small fit much better in the band.
I expect so much more from this wildly successful company, Freya. Size small fit well enough that the band did not look like ruffles. However, my tissue was uncomfortably compressed in the cup. Size Medium has enough space for my tissue but provides no lift ...because the band is large and non-adjustable. Effectively, this bralette moves my tissue to the center and holds it low on my chest. Bali Comfort Revolution bras (3488 & 3484) lift much better and provide more comfort.
Compare this Freya to the 38" Wacoal Halo and you will discover Wacoal has a superior bralette for the small bust customer with one caveat--center-full busts will appreciate Freya's higher gore. Halo's band is 10" too big, but provides light support whereas Freya's Fancies provides no support. Wacoal Halo has very soft fabrics and a lined cup. Freya Fancies bralette is translucent and lace teeters on the precipice of "scratchy." I have sensitive skin...
Freya, benchmark Wacoal Halo and Bali 3484. You can do so much better than this. Read more 126 more words
I bought this bra from Broad Lingerie in Toronto, ON. It was on the clearance rack and I had been wanting a Deco Vibe in Blush for a long time because I needed a new "nude", seamless bra for myself. I tried it on, and I knew that Freya's 28 bands were too big for me, but Sam Conover, the owner of the boutique, has a personal friend who does alterations for a small fee! So I got the band shortened by a full band length, which cost only $10, and I got the straps shortened about an inch as well (only $5) so that if I ever ...want to use the J-hook it'll be positioned in the middle of my back instead of up near my neck. I just left the bra with Sam once I paid for it and it took about 4 days for the alterations to be completed, and then they just emailed me when it was ready to be picked up! As for the bra itself, here we go: I love the delicate blush colour, and it has a pretty diamond geometric mesh over the band. It also has a thin white lace trim along the bottom and top of the band, as well as on the sides of the cups. Because of the alteration, the band fits nice and snug on the first set of hooks. The wires are a perfect width for me, and the bra is a little on the shallow side, both in cup depth and immediate depth at the wire, but this is what creates VS-style cleavage. The bra doesn't ride down for me because I don't need a ton of immediate projection. An added benefit of having the band shortened was that the straps came inward slightly, so they're a good width for me when worn regularly. The gore tacks, and it doesn't bother me whatsoever throughout the day. Having the band shortened almost makes the cup volume too small for me (it wasn't a problem when I tried it on before the alteration) but this just adds to the cleavage, which I'm not complaining about. Now that the band is the proper length too, it really feels like I'm strapped in (in a good way) and there's barely any movement throughout the day. My boobs stay where they're put in this bra.
Overall, I love this bra, and I had an amazing experience buying this from Broad Lingerie! 10/10, would recommend. Read more 303 more words
So, I'm loosing weight, and needed new bras. Going down to a 34 band, just barely fits, which is where I want it to be. Freyas are really bad at stretching out quickly, as I found out with the 36 I bought about two months ago. Sure, some weight loss was involved, but I've only lost 3cm in my band size since I got that bra. So, it's pretty much the bra that's the problem. You might be wondering why then did I buy another of the same brand? Simple, I know it is comfortable, and there's plenty of sizing info for trying to determine size on ...this website, which made me more sure of my choice.
As for the cup, well that's been a struggle since I started trying to find a good fitting bra. So, based upon the measurement of cup volume that I fill out in another bra, and knowing I keep getting cups too big for me, I gave a shot on going 3 cup equivalents down to get hopefully the best fit. Well, if I was fitting my smaller breast, it would be a slam dunk. However, I need just about 1cm more in depth for my bigger breast. I'm going to keep this bra, because I am shrinking, and am likely to fit it better soon. It cost me 20 bucks, and isn't worth the cost to ship it back overseas. I've got some holiday shopping to do soon, and will be buying another bra from them a cup size bigger, to hold me in the meantime.
Otherwise, it's very comfortable. It doesn't poke anywhere. I was surprised that it only had 2 hooks per column, for it being a GG cup. I feel it would be a little more secure on the sides with the extra hook, and fabric that would go a little higher as it moves towards the back. I was hoping the pointyness of the cups would not be so bad in a smaller cup, but alas, they just are just as conical as ever. It's not terrible, but be aware if you need projection space, this bra doesn't do that for you. Overall, it's a very pretty, and I hope to use it soon.
Purchased a Freya Fancies Bralette a couple months back and am finally getting around to writing a review. I was really hoping for a bra I could wear lounging around the house. I wanted something supportive, but not rigid, that would give me an ok shape underneath a tank or a robe. While the bralette provides an OK shape, I just didn't find it very comfortable. Long line bras always roll up on me, regardless of boning structure, and this bra was no exception. The beautiful lace detail on the bottom was lost forever beneath my boobs. I also felt as though maybe the mesh "cup" area was a ...bit small, while the band was too big. I was hoping this wouldn't happen, as Freya is bust-friendly, but alas, I suspect my bust/underbust ratio is too large for this bralette to fit comfortably.
The mesh cups are great and very breathable, perfect for warm weather. The lace borders are both stretchy and firm, which I think would work out for people who have success with long lines. Straps are fully adjustable and fairly long, which is great for long torsos or those of us who are tall.
Overall, I was super disappointed that this bralette didn't work for my shape, but I think it has GREAT potential for those with a lower bust/underbust ratio. If my breasts were a bit smaller, this would be love. I'd highly recommend trying one out if you are curious about it! Read more 137 more words
well, i've been recommended decent exposures, but most ppl dont seem to like them. i havent even been wearing mine any more (except for my winter yoga top). they fit differently and are not cheap. but cup sized and no hardware
I found this band objectionably uncomfortable, too. I had hoped this was the perfect wireless bra. Nope.
