This review is for the nude color. There's nothing new I can say about the lovely Deco, but I'll add my thoughts. I love this bra.
What I initially thought was just epic cleavage in my 28F deco turned out to be epic cleavage accompanied by epic underarm squish. I had been thinking of trying a 28FF for a while and ran across this 30F at my local Dillards on clearance for $5 (SCORE!). The band was too large but, for five dollars, I have NO problem trying to take in the band myself. (The fit was set for the unaltered size.)
I was afraid this cup size would be ...too big because I always thought my breast shape was primarily bottom heavy, and I was getting a little gaping on the 28F at the top. The wires are actually just too narrow on the 28F, and getting this larger wire width seemed to fix the gaping problem. I think I have a shallow breast shape as described by venusian glow - my breasts aren't really large but they cover most of my chest pretty much up to my clavicles. I can't say this would work well on all shallow shapes - it seems it's suggested it doesn't, actually - but perhaps it works fairly well for shallow shapes in this size range.
The band is too large as purchased, but was altered down to stretch to approximately 27 inches. Starting with a smaller band size would be ideal, but it fits pretty well as it is now. This bra was compared to a 32E ocean deco I purchased at the same time (for $10 also on clearance) and the cups do not seem to be spaced or scaled any differently between the two. The only notable difference is the cups on the nude 30F appears to be a little bit taller.
Overall, I'm very happy to have tried a larger size and definitely see more decos in my future. Read more 218 more words
This is a very fun bra. It's got a bold pattern, and is see through for the entire cup. The cup underwires are very wide, and the band is very stretchy. The bra itself is very light in the material department. You feel like you have nothing on. It doesn't feel like a very supportive bra.
I love this bra. It gives the most support, and best shape of any bra I've been able to find. There's quite a bit of padding, but it certainly isn't overwhelming. The cups run a bit small, and Freya runs a bit looser in the band. I measure just under 27 inches, and this bra only fits okay on the tightest hook. I'll probably take in the band a bit as it stretches. This is my first bra that fits, but I'm sure I would usually be a 28DD. I fit a 28E in this bra.
The straps are fully adjustable which is a wonderful feature. I need my straps quite short, and I always have a hard time finding bras that adjust short enough.
I *love* the look of this bra. Favorite longline bra so far. It's so beautiful, the colors are so vibrant. The green is gorgeous and the burnt orange gives it a nice touch.
The one problem I have is... Freya longlines (or padded half cups for that matter) are NOT made for me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" /> Oh the horror. I need more depth and narrower wires. The cup of this bra is more shallow and the wires are too wide for me. With the result that I am slightly quad boobing in the middle and there's empty space on the sides of the cups, ...near the straps. The center gore is too wide for me as well, it's not sitting flat. But then again, that could be just a result of the cups being too shallow and my boobs, which need more projection, pushing the gore outward. I've tried many sizes in these long lines, and no matter how big the cup, the center gore never sits flat.
To make matters worse, I bought this bra a cup too small. I think I'll try and see if anyone wants to exchange so I can wear a 30FF, because as it is now, I can basically only wear this bra on my smallest time during the month: the week of my period and immediately after that.
Even with all these problems, the bra gives amazing support, and it is comfortable to wear. I never feel uncomfortable during the entire day. I will keep buying the Freya longlines, because I love the look of them and they still give great support. Read more 163 more words
I notice you say the cups are too shallow and wide for you... How do you compare the depth and width to the Cleo Lucy? I'm asking because I ADORE these bras, but I am limited to ordering online. I need shallow and wide cups, and I happen to have a Cleo Lucy (altho in a 30G), so I believe it'd be getting same ratio, but I'm just assuming.
Hi! I think the main problem for me is that the Ivy is just not deep enough. The Lucy 30FF is definitely deeper than the Ivy, and the 30G will be even more so. I just measured the width of both cups, and the 30FF Lucy is 13.5cm while the Ivy 30F is 13cm (I am not including the thickness of the wires in the measurement, since logically your breast tissue is supposed to be encased in the wires, I think that's why some of the measurements on bratabase are off?).
In my case, wires are almost always too wide. They always go, even if it's a bit, beyond my breast tissue. That's partly because my breasts are not that wide and partly because I am quite petite (5'2") so naturally most wires will be too wide. That on itself doesn't bother me much, but if the width is off... then my breasts will be squished and will try to escape in the middle.
I'm not sure if 30G Lucy fits you? I think the only way to tell if a bra fits you is to try. I am also limited to ordering online and I have spent tons of time and money on trying and returning bras. It's tiring... but you end up really learning which styles and brands fit you best. But if your breasts are more shallow and you need wide wires, I'd say go for it!
Look at these reviews of the same bra. Both have the same size. But it suits one better than the other, just because the shape of their breasts are different!
I wasn't thinking when I bought this bra in a 34E. It fit well when I first tried it on, but I didn't think about tissue migration. Thankfully Nordstrom is letting me exchange it, after I cut the tags off, for a 34FF.
Out of all the new bras that I bought, this one is currently my favorite. It's much more comfortable than I thought it would be, especially since it's a longline. I don't even notice I'm wearing it, which is a first for me with bras! It lifts the girls up where they're supposed to be, and I like the shape it gives me. I also think its absolutely adorable and plan to purchase the new Freya longline that's out too.
My only complaints would be that the front does roll up a bit. It's not uncomfortable and doesn't cause the band to ride up in the back though, so it's not an issue for me. The lace at the top of the cup is also visible through thin tops which is bit annoying because I really like wearing this bra! I wish they would make this bra with a satin edge versus a lace one.
Interestingly, even though the measurements of the taylor aren't so different from the deco, it seems to be a tiny drop smaller than the deco in the same size. It is not ridiculously small, but maybe the regular deco is a bit more open on the top or middle or something. I can't really tell just yet! I have heard people say that ALL of the deco off-shoots like hatty, ashlee, and taylor all fit more 'true to size'. I had hatty in 28F, and found the fit to be exactly the same as my 28F regular deco. This leads me to be a bit confused whether or ...not it is true that the other deco off-shoots ARE different...
This taylor is the black/brown colorway. It's beautiful! I have seen many pictures, but didn't notice the little details like the lace bow at the center gore or the delicate lace on the tops of the cup. The stripe pattern is lovely.
I'd really have to decide on the fit of this versus the deco before deciding to buy another colorway or just hold out for the new AWESOME deco colors coming out at the end of 2013 (emerald green, FLAMINGOS! omg).
I'm a huge deco fan, because deco actually works for me. Can't say enough great things about all the deco line https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
As a final note, I DID get this used (I exchanged a 28F deco for this from another bratabase user!), so I can't really say whether or not the stretched band measurement is any different than a brand new taylor! Read more 157 more words
This seems to run tighter in the band than other decos, but that's definitely not a complaint. The cups are more like a small ff than an f, as with most decos.
It gives great uplift, huge cleavage, and a very rounded shape which I love. The underwires are narrow, but still, a tad too wide for me.
I am totally biased because I love decos but, anyone simialar shape to me (high on chest, close together, narrow, balanced but slightly full on top) should try one of these bras.
This bra left gaps on top. Some helpful members in "fitting help" advised I size down in the band and up in the cup, as it looked like the 30D cups were not encasing my entire breasts, so I tried a 28E, and was not really happy with that either. Ultimately I think the Deco's shape just does not work for me, it has too much coverage on the top. Much happier with 30DD - Calvin Klein ยป Seductive Comfort Customized Lift (F2892) for a plunge bra.
I'm not sure what to think of this bra. It's the wrong size, so it's hard to review. Still, I'm not sure it would ever work for me. My boobs are pretty close set and full on top, and I have trouble spilling toward the center in such low plunges. I'm not sure if the proper size would fix that, or if I need a bra with a higher center gore. Plus, even though the top of each cup cuts into my chest, the bottom creases after a full day's wearing. Not sure if going up a cup size would be the right move- it seems too big on the bottom. Again, this may not be a bra for full on top gals. Still, the Deco seems like it's very high quality and gives great cleavage, if that's what you're looking for.
07.01.2013 i like this bra and i wear it quite often but i think its actually a cup size too big for me but its not that obvious (with a tshirt on). the band is snug but im normally a 30/32. the bra comes up quite high, its difficult to wear under tshirts (might be because its too big though)
12.03.2013 my boobs have grown and this bra now fits perfectly. it is actually my favourite bra atm, im wearing it on the second hook and its just unbelievably comfortable
this bra FEELS really good for about an hour, then I can tell it's not giving any support because the band is SOOO stretchy. I wish it came in a 30k because thats what i would order
I think this style is just not for me; I have tried a 30G (too big) and now the 30FF (too small). I think without the longline, the cups would fit or be just the slightest bit too small, but I am constantly pulling the band down after it rolls up, and this causes the cups to sit too low on my breasts, and they quadboob on top. I can wear Freya's regular half cups, and they are some of my favorite bras, but I just can't to the longline. It's a damn shame, too, because I love the look, and how smooth my back looks under fitted clothes.
