I really wanted this bra to work for me - I love this fabric, it's nice and stretchy, not too thick or thin, and cute! But, the cups are just too wide and shallow for me. It gives a great shape under clothes, and side support is awesome, except the straps are so far apart on me that I don't think I'm getting any side support anyway. I keep thinking I can make this work somehow, but I'm pretty sure it's useless. Sad face.
I think today is the day I've realized I need narrower wires, not wider.
The band and cups are true to size. I would say it "fits", but it doesn't look flattering. I think it is meant for more saggy/narrow, yet wide-set boobs. The elastic on the outside of the cups gaped a bit, while the elastic on the inside edge could quad-boob slightly if I throw my shoulders back (tugging on the straps). The cups are entirely made of thin, slightly stretching fabric and doesn't seem like one of Freya's high quality bras. The Ballet Pink color doesn't help either.
November 2015 Update: This bra is still full of lies. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> Now it's too small!! Who would have guessed?! Having bigger boobs didn't solve any problems, it just created new ones! I posted pictures of both regular straps and with the J-hook hooked in the back. (Again, I swear I took pictures originally, but apparently they never made it off my old phone and onto my profile.) When looking, the cups SEEM like they fit me. But that's because I wasn't moving. If I do move, the cups gap and my breasts explode into my armpits. The wires are still an inch ...too short, and this time I took a picture of me pointing to my breast root not being encompassed, and the gap that occurs in the side of the bra. So basically, as long as I stand up perfectly straight, but don't pull my shoulders back, and don't move, this bra fits. In reality, this bra is just basically resting over my boobs, and not actually encompassing them like a proper bra is supposed to. When I have the J-hook hooked, I do get some cleavage/shadowing between my breasts, but I get massive quadboob. And then there's the problem of the straps being extremely painful hooked. Sadly, the Deco is just never going to work for me.
Original Review: This bra is full of lies. The wires are an entire INCH too short for the casing in the underarms, so this basically allows my breasts to escape into my armpits rather than pushing it forward into the sexy cleavage I see in so many images. Clearly this bra is for close-set boobs, definitely not wide-set boobs. Secondly, while the cup depth makes it sound small, this doesn't take into consideration that it's a plunge bra, meaning that if the wires came up higher in the middle, the wire-to-wire width would be much wider and the cups much deeper. I wanted to believe that this bra would fit. And it did... as long as I had the wonderful J-hook hooked in the back, the straps tightened to almost an uncomfortable level, and didn't move my arms. (Again, wire an inch lower than casing in underarms, so if I were to spread my arms or pull them back, my breast tissue would disappear from the middle front and be back in my armpits.) If I add thick push-up pads, they keep my breast tissue more in the middle than the bra does itself. I haven't had cleavage since pretty much never since I have such wide-set, shallow boobs (ok, I did once do the Jenna Marbles trick of wearing 2-3 bras and stuffing each one of them, and that worked, but uhhh, not proud of that https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />) so I wanted this to be my "sexy date bra." I am full-on-top, with my tissue spreading high on my chest, almost to my collar bone, so I didn't think the extreme open-ness of the bra would be a problem. Alas, the bra (like many other people have said) is too tall and so it sticks straight up past my breast tissue at the top. Only with the push-up inserts can I hike my breasts up high enough to meet the top edge of the cup. I tried another similar deco in a 28DD, and ohhh my gosh it hurt, it felt 2-3 cup sizes smaller so it was sitting on my breast tissue all the way around and quadboobing at the same time as not filling the middle projection. Maybe this was such a large problem because they were different deco styles, but the store didn't have the Vibe to try in a 28DD so I guess I'll never know. I'm pretty sure this is completely wrong for my shape, though. I believe that you need medium-to-wide width, deep projection, and medium-to-close-set breasts for this bra to work for you. Oh yeah, and very full-on-top. And like how everyone else says, the band is quite large before stretched, so you're better off if you are have a 28" or 29" ribcage, unlike my 27" ribcage. On another note, the cup fabric is soooo smooth and soft! I had my mom touch it, and she had such dry fingers that she actually caused a small area to fluff, which was really depressing since it was brand new, haha. XD So don't rub up against anything, and don't let anything catch the nice fabric. Read more 637 more words
The cups on the bra fit quite well for upper fullness. The band is very tight as a strapless should be. I don't have an issue with only two columns of hooks. I absolutely love that the bra has two placement options for each strap in the front and the back for a total of 8 different strap placement options with also being able to do the regular multiway bra options.
I was fully expecting this bra not to fit as the cups looked like they would cut in. Thw cups are quite tall and curve high enough up that there is not an issue with cutting in. You ...would need A LOT of projection and tall upper fullness for there to be an issue. I think I could have gone down a cup size and still been able to fill the cups because of how open they are.
The longline part doesn't sit flat and nice on my ribs - maybe the fat on my ribs? Not sure. If it was an inch or two longer That would have worked nicely. Read more 74 more words
Lovely bra, really really comfy, but the band runs loose and the cups are too shallow and wide for me. It's really a pity that it stops at G cup, as I would have needed to size up.
Seems to fit very well. Band and cup size mostly true to size (I normally wear 30E instead). The very top edge gaps a little. Very very bright neon orange color
I like this bra. I have a constant problem of finding bras where the cup is deep enough but the underwire isn't too wide and tall. I used to constantly have to alter my underwire (ie bend the crap out of it, remove it, slide out and trim it, etc). The freya underwire is much more narrow and not as tall. I in no way have to alter the wire, its perfect as it is. the cup is a little shorter than what I used to normally wear. I will say I liked the Freya Firecracker a bit better. The straps aren't quite a comfortable. and the top of the cup just makes me feel like it might slip as i am bending down, crawling under desks while I run wiring etc. it doesn't actually slip, so I wear this bra fine, just not quite as confident in its ability for something not to shift/slip.
As soon as I saw this bra I knew I had to have it. Who doesn't love pansies? The print was so cute and young. The print and the bows were what drew me to buy it, and after some sleuthing I found it in my (supposed) size and price range. The positives? The print and colours are just as amazing in real life. I like the tightness of the band and how short it was. The straps appear to be nice and supportive and the gore tacks. The bad? I'm a 30f. I chose that on the Amazon drop down. There was no indication that this ...was in UK sizing. I was sent a 30G-I am so not a 30G. The cups are HUGE-they gape so bad it's ridiculous. Based on that, I sized down two sizes (mainly because the next one down was way more expensive). I really want this bra to work. It's gorgeously fun and is extremely comfy even in the wrong size. I played around with the cups and reconfigured they look like they can give me a great shape. I'll be devastated if the 30dd does not fit.
UPDATE: A user (wild_muses ) was extremely helpful. She said that she thought that two sizes down would be far too small. I decided to just humour this thought and tried the bra on again. I hemmed, I hawed, and then-epiphany! I had been pulling the bra up near the strap trying to simulate a smaller cup and then it occurred to me to tighten the straps even farther. So, after tightening the straps almost all the way (can still comfortably fit two fingers in them), the bra fit! It was like a miracle. So hopefully I can cancel the exchange and keep this bra. My only issue now is the bra is slightly pointy but it looks natural under clothes. I've updated the pictures to represent how the bra fits now. Read more 220 more words
I'm not sure why Amazon.com (USA) doesn't mention that Freya is in UK sizing (I just looked). Usually, the way I can tell if something is in UK sizing versus US sizing is if the list contains an"FF" or a "GG." That type of lettering doesn't exist in US sizing.
I've noticed that the UK brands (Freya, Panache, Cleo, Curvy Kate) are always in UK sizing on Amazon.com (in the USA). But it would be nice if they mentioned that in the "Product Description" section!
Hopefully you have better luck with the smaller size. I just ordered the Freya Parade longline in 32G yesterday!
It truly is more beautiful in person than online. Those bows are works of art and the print has little strawberries, something I didn't notice until I had it in hand. Those straps are something dreams are made out of-so thick and plush. I really hope it works out for you.
If you order from Amazon and something doesn't fit you can return and then chat with a Amazon rep and get the new size for the same price.
amandafire I had no idea I could do that. I already set up an exchange which was 5 dollars more expensive (but it seems like they didn't refund shipping?). I'll look into it-thanks for bringing it up.
Wait, you added this as a UK 30F, is that what it is or no? BTW I don't think these cups look huge on you--there's a little bit of gaping at the top but the bottom fits and lifts you very well.
wild_muses I have no idea how I got those photos to look good-it's very sad and droopy in real life. The tag says 30 F (UK) and 30 G (American). The sizing on this bra is very weird. I thought I was getting a 30 F American. The other reviewer thought she too was getting an American sized bra. There's no indication that it's in UK sizes. Overall, not the best buying experience.
Also, I just realized that I don't have to send this in right away. I'm going to not send this one back until I get the 30DD and see how it fits-hopefully the cups fit better because the rest of this is perfect.
You can really ignore "american" sizes--there's really no convention for them above DD. This one is the same size as your Parfait bra. I think a 30DD will be far too small for you--I think you should try a 30E or try another bra that is more closed on top.
wild_muses You're like the bra fairy. I do fill the bottom really well. I am going to keep this size-it never occurred to me that the straps could be unusually long. Once I tightened them up almost all the way (I'm extremely short) the fit is great. I still have a tiny bit of gappage and it's a little pointy but looks round under clothes. If not for you I wouldn't have tried it on again, would have ordered the too small size and then become frustrated when neither seemed to fit
Yay! :D I'm glad it works out then! I'm 4' 10" so i feel the struggle! For a long time i wasn't pulling the wire right up under my breast so nothing seemed to fit me right. I always had straps fall off my shoulders too when I was wearing bands that were too big! There's a lot of fit nuances created by height that don't get addressed as often as they should.
Well I was sad when I received this bra and put it on. I had just sent a 32GG in the same exact style for this 32H. The H gaps at the straps, but the middle and front cups are filled if not slightly quadding. The wires are also too wide reaching the back of my arm pits. The cups are too tall so I guess I have short roots because I wasn't sure. I still love the overall look and comfort of this bra, but I will sadly return it. I encourage anyone with the right dimensions to buy this bra. I got it off Amazon for a little over $30 for both the 32GG and 32H. Any suggestions on bras I'll take. Also do you think parfait by affinitas Charlotte will work?
I really liked this bra too! I had the same problem though, quadding in the 34E and gapping at the top in the 34F. The lace was also doing a weird little roll at the top, almost like it was already stretched out. My hope was that...maybe it WAS stretched out, and I'm waiting for a replacement to try it again. Also in more sister sizes, since the band is stretchy I'm hoping I can go down to 32 (which is normally tight for me.) I have tried the Parfait Charlotte and it is one of my favorites so far. I'm FOB/soft and this for some reason contains without puddling/gapping. I think it's the firm yet slightly top edge - seems different than others I've tried. You can see pics on my page.
I also tried it when I was confused on sizing it felt great but was way too small. The freya band felt comfortable/slightly loose but that is probably because I measure 31" I'd say it runs true to size.v I am even/fot. Im just concerned of what will happen when I get the 32H in parfait. I have a good amount of projection and am semi-soft. Because of my high set roots I try to make sure I pull the underwires up, but this results in the gapping and quadding 😩. I think you and I need shorter cups. And I need narrower wires. *sigh* some bras just can't be worn with certain breasts, I have tried 2x with this same style, so on to the next one.
This bra is really comfortable! I feel like it gives a really natural and sexy look but I think it looks grandma-esque in the photos. I wish it gave a tiny bit more lift and had a tiny bit more room on top, but everything is soo soft and stretchy that this bra still fits well. Since I have only heard people complain about this bra I was hesitant to try it, but I really like it and will probably end up keeping it! I will try it on a few more times and see how it looks under different tops and hopefully it passes all the tests!
It certainly fits you better than it fit me! Very soft and comfy, I have to agree.
I have it too (also in 28F). The cut is good, it fits me but my usual size is 30E and the 28F is too tight and I don't want to use extender. I have to list it here.
It fits way better than I expected! It's definitely true to size! It's as tight as I would want my bras starting off, any tighter and I'd recommend it for someone closer to a 26 band!
I am in love with this bra!!! Freya, you have now won me over! I wasn't sure how this would fit because my thimble cottage half cup although probably my closest fitting bra of a similar style could use maybe just an extra half inch of fabric at the top of the cups. This bra solves that issue completely. The gore is slightly higher therefore the cups are slightly taller at the top as well and it works out beautifully. Gore sits flat and is comfortable. Traps are a perfect width and adjust nicely. Band is very comfortable on the largest hooks. Could probably go a bit tighter ...so hopefully it doesn't stretch out too quickly. Although freya calls these "padded" they are really more lined than padded but holy cow! For an unpadded bra, my cleavage looks amazing!! For the first time since losing weight and my upper fullness, I look like I have full, even, perky breasts!! This may be the best bra I iwn right now and a huge thank you to fellow user erispe! Not only was your advice excellent, the condition of your "gently used" bras exceeded my expectations! Everything I recieved from her looked brand new. So happy to have found this site. Bullseye! Looks great on you and I'm very happy it worked out well. :)
Now I am not sure if the pics are yours or not. Just woke up and drinking my first cup of coffee, so not completely myself yet. :) Anyhow, really glad the bra works for you.
I wanted to love this bra, but couldn't. First and foremasr, the band is insanely tight. I could barely fasten it, and the rubbery lining (not sure how to describe it) makes it even worse, digging in constantly. The wires and cups are both very wide, extending well into my armpits. The cups are fairly shallow, but because it is so wide I got gaping rather than quadboob. Overall, just wrong. Would work better for a shallow/wide 30FF or a regular/wide 30F.
I really love this bra. It looks delicate and lacy but is strong and firm. It is just as supportive as it is lovely. I must say the images do not do this bra justice. Particularly in regards to the frosted green color.
The band is very soft and plush, but remains firmly in place throughout the day. It doesn't cut in and create unattractive back bubbles or dig in at the front. There is no side stay-boning, but it feels fine without it. So don't be turned off by that.
The material of the cup is a heavy weight non stretch power mesh with delicate geometric top stitching. ...The cups do not bother me, however they may seem scratchy to persons with very sensitive or delicate skin types. However I have fairly sensitive skin and it does not bother me.
One thing to watch out for is the size. This seems to run 1/2-1 cup size larger. This is not an issue for me as I really need a 30G. While the bra leaves a touch of quad-boob it's not enough of a quibble for me to size up. Read more 82 more words
I absolutely love this bra. It is so comfortable and is perfect for my wide roots, bottom heavy but shallow breasts.
The central gore was stabbing me initially but after some bending of the wires- it was fine.
The push-up padding was not as thin as I had expected but it is also not as thick as the ones you get in most high street shops! The padding did create quite some cleavage that I'm not used to! (Quite a pleasant surprise)
I have the freya deco plunge, soft cup and the strapless in 28d. I do quadboob slightly in the 28d strapless but in this 28dd half cup push-up ...model I was getting a quadboob! How crazy is that. Unfortunately this model is sold out everywhere I looked otherwise I might consider buying it in a nude/blue, maybe try on a 28e to see how it fits.
The band was definitely too loose on me which I was severely disappointed with. This band was much looser than the other deco bras! I had to stay on the last hook for the centre gore to tack! However it is such a good comfi bra - I will probably just get a rixie clip when the band wears out!
Two pieces of advice for Freya: - please make more of these and make them in different colours! -please make the bands true to size!! It was almost as if they took the wing measurements from the deco plunge and pasted those on the half cup (bearing in mind the half cup has a wider base than the deco plunge which is designed for those with narrow and talk roots) - please make some 26 bands!!!!!!!!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />
Bottom line: if you want to buy this try going down a band size and going up two or even three cup sizes!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I think that instead of Freya making 26 bands, they could just make their bands run true to size. Almost all of the Freya bras I have ever tried/owned were 28 bands that felt like 30 bands. The only 28 band Freyas that actually felt like 28 bands were the strapless styles and the longlines.
Thank you for making this review! I am waiting on my own Freya Deco Half Cup in the mail...
That's right! my longline however felt like a 32 band! Even on it tightest hook it did not tack! 😭 I love Freya bras but I sometimes hesitate about buying them as they are so loose in the band and are quite pricey too! Compared to Panach or Curvy Kate for example. I hope you love your new half cup! I still remember the excitement whilst waiting for it in the post too 😉
This bra was recommended to me for its projection and narrow wires. I definitely agree that this bra has way more immediate projection than most other UK bras that I've tried. It's very beautiful and the wires are great (finally something that will stay in my IMF!), but sadly I don't quite have enough fullness on top / inner fullness to pull it off.
Individually, the cups fit fine. The wires are just a tad too narrow for my preference. I like how the bra runs half a size large in cup volume and the cups cater to tall rooted people. The worst part of this bra is that the cups are simply too close together. This is a great bra if you're in between 28DD and 28E, are tall and narrow rooted, and have close together set breasts.
I love this bra when I was a 38ff it fit perfect and made me look great ..I'm bigger now a 42gg and they don't make this bra in that size I'm in desperate need to find a brand and bra like this in my size
If you can find it, you could try the Elomi Bijou. Elomi and Freya are both owned by the same parent company (Eveden) and the Bijou is intended to be similar to the Freya Deco but for those needing larger band sizes. I just checked and they make it in a 42GG.
I appreciate that I'll give it a try ..altho I have tried several elomi and what I have found is that there great at first but a week or 2 layer there stretched and everything is sagging again ...basically what I need is a Viking brass bra and I found that in freya deco . I will try your suggestion as I'm desperate to find mymatch again thank you @
If you want super-strong bras, you should look at panache, but they dont make any molded in your size. I dont have any molded at all.
I found curvy Kate I just got one and love it holds like freya
I had been waiting for this bra to come out this season and was happy to find that the "spacer foam" was nothing like others I had tried (e.g. the Fantasie Rebecca that fits me well but leaves my pendulous boobs without support). The material is actually soft and nice and gives somewhat more decent shape/support despite no seams. But the cup was way too big in my usual size, 30G. The band was also a tad big and I had to start on the second hook. I recommend sizing down in the cup, particularly if you are more even or FOT. I think the style might better ...suit FOBs. I tried a 30FF, which was a better fit in general, but I still had a full hand worth of empty space where the strap meets the top of the cup. I'm high-set and petite torsoed, so it was far too tall in the armpits (not so much the wire alone, but all the excess material up there). It's supposed to be a balconette (?), but it has more cup coverage at the sides and lower at the gore, more like a t-shirt bra. Another big problem is that the gore is wayyy too wide. Probably the widest gore on any bra I've ever tried. Finally, the straps are a smooth, satiny material, which feels nice, but means that they slide looser very easily. When I adjusted the strap length and then put them over my shoulders, they slid out again and I had to re-tightened while on. Read more 151 more words
Thank you for your review. I've been considering trying this bra, but have resisted since I have the same problem that you mentioned with the @Fantasie Rebecca. The wide gore is an interesting point and concerns me. On me, wide gores usually result in the appearance of a wide frame--they tend to push me east/west. I'm still not sure I want to try this. In addition to these concerns, it is priced on the high side (at least in the USA).
SavvyL I definitely got the east/west push because of the wide gore. I'm short/petite with high-set breasts, short to average root height, pretty narrow, pendulous and decently projected, somewhat FOT, if that helps with the review. I'm glad I got to try it in-store on my trip to the UK. Maybe the prices will drop soon.
Right now, this is my absolute most fitting bra and I love it.
When I first got it, it was wrinkling everywhere etc etc etc but now due to tissue migration? maybe? it fits like a glove on most days and quads the teeniest bit on some days.
The fabric was unexpectedly soft and nice, but it doesn't stretch, which makes it effective for keeping nipples on the down low. Result: I can actually wear this under a single layer of t-shirt! The lace had a hard time laying flat but eventually it did (I'm not sure how) and it gives me a sleek, rounded profile with a light point ...(it's no Cleo, after all). The fact that the seams go right over my nipples is nice, but that also means that it gives me an ever-so-slight east-westiness. The band, at least in the black colorway, is quite tight as Freyas go. Since the wires are 1 cm shorter than the channel, and the wings are rather short, I have to shove the wire all the way to the armpit side of the channel to get them in a more comfortable position - the pictures I've uploaded have the wires a little on the gore side, so it looks like it's poking into my side. First of all, this bra is gorgeous. Not only is the ethereal flower print beautiful, but it has a bit of a blurred watercolor effect which makes it seem almost hand-painted. The band is edged with tiny delicate lace (which the hooks can catch on, so be careful) that is small enough to not stick out strangely as Freya band trims tend to do sometimes. The lace at the top of the cup has a line of non-elastic plastic at the top to keep it strong. The band is nice and snug (whoo) and the straps appear to be fully adjustable. Both the gore and wings are about ...average height, which is actually a bit lower than I'd like. The wires are just about perfect!
The fit of the cups is kind of weird. It definitely feels like they're trying very hard to bring my sideboob to the front, except I actually don't have much sideboob in the first place so it's kind of wrinkly and sad there, and leaves my tail of Spence just hangin out. A side effect of this is that on the sides near the armpit, there is extra cup-edge elastic folding up, which is really bizarre to me. There also isn't that much immediate projection - this bra saves all the projection for up top, where I have basically no tissue. It seems as if the apex is really high, a full inch away from my nipple. There's also a lot of gaping in the center, even though I'm fairly close-set and have some inner fullness. Weirdest of all, The top lace section gaps considerably in the center, even when adjacent areas are filled out. Even so, the rest of the lace lines up with my tallish roots well! they sit happily on them without quadding or gaping. I'm guessing that this is a product of the FoT nature of this bra?
Too bad you couldn't keep it - Barbie bra indeed! Thanks for the review 😊
I really like the design and how the print continues on the back (my pet peeve with Flourish, where the back is plain black mesh).
