This is one of the most beautiful bras I've ever worn. Powder blue is one of my favorite colors, and the delicate lace overlay over the blush is so nice. The hardware is some shiny rose-gold color, which is a nice departure from the usual plastic.
The most unfortunate thing about this bra is that is has one hook. One! And the band isn't very stretchy (I prayed for the lace's survival each time I put it on). This resulted in the band feeling too loose (not enough tension) even though it runs really small, only stretching to 28 inches :/ The underwires are super comfy though, just wide ...enough for my narrow root, and the gore doesn't dig.
As expected of a padded bra, there isn't much immediate projection, unfortunately for me. This gave me quite some degree of floating underwire. There was kind of a gap on the top edge of the cup near the gore, which I didn't mind too much. Surprisingly, I filled out the tops of the cups, and it's maybe a little too small, which is unexpected given how my numbers are between 28D and DD right now, and the shape it gave was really nice. A beautiful looking bra that I had my eyes on for a long time, but turned out to be too small in the cups when arrived. I would need to size up in the cups to get a decent fit. Lovely butterflies pattern on a creme base, the looks is 10/10. Straps quite thin, actually too thin for my liking and band stretchy soft material. Cups are soft moulded, very thin padding - doesn't really add to volume. Would be a great bra to conceal my unevennes if it were the right size. Really sad it doesn't fit.
As I'm normally a 30GG - almost H, this bra runs kind of large. The cups are very stretchy and don't offer a lot of support. So not recommended for those who are opposed to some jiggle.
Gives an extremely natural shape and feel, which I like for some days. In unpadded 'firmer' bras like Jasmine; my boobs feel quite compressed and almost rigid - in Clarice they feel nice and soft, almost braless. So if you're looking for an airy, barely there stretchy bra, this is it!
I also love the color and it comes with a lovely pair of knickers.
Too bad the cups are too tall and way ...too close to my armpits. Too much chafing to wear. Also there wrinkling in the bottom, perhaps also due to the tall cups? Or projection, I'm not sure. Needs some major bra surgery, where I lower the wings + cup and move the straps inward. To be honest this has been on my alteration pile for some time.
But because I've never come across a similarly stretchy, very natural feeling bra; I don't want to get rid of it.. Read more 79 more words
The shape of this bra was very tall and shallow, probably the tallest half cup I've ever encountered. It was practically full coverage on me--I wouldn't recommend it unless you have quite tall roots.
It fits alright. The band was too tight that I couldn't fasten it on my own at first. But now, after a few times of wearing this, I can fasten it, so the band is very stretchy. The fabric is soft. I ordered it in 30F online but I've got 30FF. So there might have been a mistake. I missed the returning date and it fits me quite okay, so I decided to keep it.
The wires dig into my skin a little. And the center gore is too high that it's uncomfortable. Since I decided to keep it, I need to find a way to solve this problem. And the lace is very visible. It was visible on almost every tops I have, except the thick sweater.
I have medium to wide root shallow boobs, and tall roots up to my collarbone, neither FoT nor FoB. My regular UK size is 30E.
Why This bra didn't work for me: - The cups have a ridiculous amount of projection. - The cups are very closed on top (which I didn't expect in a balcony/halfcup). The top rim cuts into my breast tissue while I was not filling out the apex. - The cups are molded (no seams!), and have a projected and closed-on-top shape. I think they might work for people who need immediate projection (boobs that are full on bottom), and are not too full on top at the ...same time. - The wires are U-shaped and very long, making the bra unconfortable to wear. They dug into my armpit area uncomfortably (and the side boning was making it even worse). - The band is too stretchy. Despite of stretching only to 30" when I measured, it felt unstable and slid around on my back when I was moving. It actually FEELS a lot stretchier than the measurements indicate. Hooking it tighter didn't help. I didn't get any support from the band. Also, I found the band ridiculously thin compared to the height of the cups. Thin bands that don't have are leotard back are not my favourites, since they are very prone to cutting in. Read more 114 more words
Since I had such success with the Magenta colorway of this bra, I ordered another one in Pink/Ivory. The fit is similar for me, but not quite as perfect. The cups don't sit quite the same, but still fit well. As with the Magenta colorway, the band on this is not true to size and I would advise sister sizing up in the band. The 32" band really only stretches to 31" so I'm wearing this one with an extender for comfort (snug underbust 32", tight underbust 30.5").
Just FYI, uploading my pictures to bratabase dulled the color to a dusty rose, but in real life the color is a satiny hot pink.
This balconette bra with floral print and lace detail is pretty if somewhat gaudy. Lepel's balconettes always look rounded and front-and-center on the models, but they give me such a pointy east/west shape. I had the same issues with this bra as with the 30G - Lepel » Lilly Moulded Balconette Bra (150304) and 30G - Lepel » Babushka Padded Balconette Bra (141104): Pointy/bullety/east-west shape; not supportive enough straps; and not really well made. It's bulky feel reminded me of a cheap version of the Parfait Charlotte balconette (which doesn't come in my size). I wouldn't invest in any of the moulded Lepel bras I've tried. I don't think they would last long at all. Seems true to size.
This bra is very unsupportive. The material is very flimsy, and it seems to run large, especially on the top (lace) portion. From the front the lace is baggy and in profile I look droopy, with in-cup quadboob. I think it would suit a person with very full on top breasts who didn't need much support, and did need long straps - I had to shorten them nearly all the way. The straps are also set very wide apart - nearly all bra straps are a bit wide for me, but I think these are the worst I've ever tried. I do like the bright blue colour, but I'm not as keen on the pixelated lower half of the cups. This is the first bra from Lepel I've attempted, and it doesn't encourage me to investigate the rest of their offerings.
Really comfortable... I think 30dd would fit better as it is large and stretchy in the cups.. still wearable though. The lace is really visible, even under knitted jumpers. Fabric on the band is lovely, but the lace in the cups seems cheap. It also gives a weird shape and a bit of an east west effect. What's really odd is how it seems to flatten me despite it being too big
This was a really frightening bra. I don't know what on earth was going on with the sizing - utterly confusing. I own 2 other Lepel bras - in 36 band size - but had read to size up in this one, hence ordering the 38. The 38 felt like a 34, very tight and stiff. The cups on the other hand were truly extrordinarily large for this size. G was more like HH or even larger. The materials were also a letdown from the other Lepels I own - much cheaper and more uncomfortable. The straps were another point of confusion - they were by far too short, even extended to their fullest. Granted they were only semi-adjustable, but this is the first time I've ever encountered a bra with straps that are too short of ANY design! Just not a bra I could recommend for anyone, sorry.
The size should be good, but the shape just doesn't look right on me. If I took the gore in, it would improve the fit, but it still would not be perfect. A tight 30 band, like 28 in Freya. Cups seem to have ample projection, just a bit far apart for my shape.
I'll start out my review by saying this bra is not the right size or shape for me. It's a 32ff but I should get a 32g since the gore does not tack. Also, this bra is minorly shallow so I have slight wrinkling on the bottom of the cups which a bigger cup may or may not help. That being said, I love this bra.
Even with it not fitting properly, this is still the single most comfortable bra I have ever owned. The fabric is super soft and feels like it caresses my breasts. It's a balconette and the lace at the top comes up in ...little points which matches the lace accents on the straps and is really cute. The baby blue and lemon is a pretty color combination (I also have this bra in emerald which is gorgeous as well).
Normally I do not like bras with 2 hook rather than 3, but for this bra I do feel supported. Enough to wear it out on the weekends when shopping or hanging out, but not enough to wear one every day at my high motion job. The band itself is a similar material as the bottom of the cups so it's very soft and feels lovely against the skin. The center gore is higher than most of the other bras I have, which if it was tacking, I'd enjoy as I don't mind high gores rather than short ones like plunge bras have.
All in all, even with the bra not being a proper fit, I give this a 4/5. Half a point lost since even in the right size the cups might be too shallow and half a point lost for not being a 3 hook. Read more 184 more words
I'm waffling whether to mark this as fits or not on Bratabase. I've decided to keep it, so I'll leave it on "fits" for now.
This band. Is a perfect fit. So great. When I measured it, it was decently true to size (stretched it to 31") but the band itself is quite firm, enough for me to wear it on the loosest hook without the band riding up in the way too-large bands do. It's so great! It disappears on my chest and is stretchy enough to not compress me at all when I take a deep breathe. It's clearly capable to stretching larger than my 27.5" ribcage, ...but the stretch is firm enough that I don't need to use tighter hooks (or worse, alter it). *dances*
The cups, though... I don't quiiiiite fill it out at the seam where my nipple is. But the seam, the apex of the cup, matches mine, so it's a great match there. But it's just a tiny too deep there, and only there, which baffles me because the depth of this cup is 7", same as my Betsey Johnson Eyelet Lace, which fits me perfectly. The removable padding makes it a tiny bit worse because my breasts will push the bra away from me. It seems to be mostly due to the odd shape at the seam (a bit too pointy and slightly indented right above it) which will hopefully go away with wear and wash (which I've heard happens).
I have the black/red colorway, which is soooo pretty. The lace at the edges don't bother me at all. They're quite comfortable. The wires are wide, maybe a smidgen too wide for me, but overally really great. The straps are fully adjustable and quite comfortable, except that the buckle sits right on my shoulder blade. It's slightly awkward, but not uncomfortable.
If it weren't for the pointy seam issue, this would be my new favorite bra. Read more 214 more words
This bra is really pretty and comfy and it worked for my shallow shape. The fabric is silky and has a soft luster to it. Padding is about 1/8" - 1/4". I wore this for a whole day at had no fit issues. The straps stayed on my shoulders and the ribbons on the straps didn't scrape me either. Because the bra is padded and the lace on the top is sewn on the top of the bra, it might create the illusion of gapping but it wasn't too noticeable or bothersome to me. The lace is soft and not bumpy when ...you wear looser t-shirts but it does show up if the fabric is thin or you wear tight knits. The shape it gives is nice and rounded. I'm actually really happy with this purchase and would recommend!
Edit: After wearing this one a couple times I noticed that the wires sit slightly on my breast tissue and the center goring cuts into my sternum a bit...Sighh. Neither issue is bad enough to discard the bra but it does cause discomfort at the end of the day. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Read more 95 more words
