I'm confused why so many polish lingerie brands don't support PayPal/don't provide international delivery, such as Alles and Dalia. I can't find their bras on Amazon or Ebay. Lace.de only provides black/nude/white colorways.
Actually these brands make a lot of colorful bras with lovely designs and fair prices, just feel pity that I can't check them out

So I tried to make my first bra. I decided to just make one from a pattern to help learn how they are constructed. I even made a size bigger than recommended and it is laughably too small in the cup, and too big in the band lol BUT I have some good ideas on where to go next. Supplies are coming out to roughly $15-$20 a bra so that’s nice!

That's awesome! I'm also trying to make my first bra, using the Watson pattern from Cloth Habit.
Apparently bra pattern sizes do not equal ready to wear/off the rack sizes, so it gets kind of complicated.
What pattern are you using? If I feel confident after the Watson, which is wireless, I might try an underwire pattern!
I’m using the Sapphire pattern from Pinup girls, which uses Beverly Johnson’s measure to technique. I measured at at 32 band 3.75 cup. On top of being at least one cup size too small, it was quite shallow, so I may add some depth to the cups as well. I did modify the original pattern to a narrower gore but I may have accidentally slightly decreased the cup size when I did that, so I need to double check what I did!

Do you know what actually is ref size on bratabase? Some time ago I've noticed, that my ref size went from 30:8 to 32:9 and I'm wondering what caused that. The only thing I've done with my profile was adding a few bras. 32:9 is obviously too big on me, also BTB size recommendations ... are 30:7 - 30:8 - 32:7 - 32:8.
So my question is: where does this ref size come from and what does it mean? Do you have any idea?

The exact way BTB calculates what to put for your ref size, I don't know (but I bet Jj could answer!); however, if you go to 'my account' --> 'edit your public profile' you can enter in a ref size yourself.

What bustyand suggests is definitely the best thing to do. Set it yourself and it won't have anything weird.
I will have to check the algorithm again, but this initially suggested size is not computed from the recommendations, but from the bras added. And I think it's cutting edges, so in the case that all your good bras (by band) are on the bottom edge (30 band) then it's probably getting confused as an outlier and going for the center one (32 band). I recall the algorithm being a dumb averaging on bands and cups.

Oh gosh! I just tried t ask about Freya Viva bras but then I saw!! Freya catalog for late 2020 and there’s 3 new viva bras in it! It’s not on Freya’s own site though. And Offbeat coming in a soft Rose color 😍

i've never seen those before either, maybe ignore the dates if you've not seen them before either, perhaps they are part of the AW20 collection? Although searching for that, they are not included either. Very bizarre tbh.
Edit: When I search for the next Freya Offbeat colorway (pink) on amazon, it shows up aswell but when you pick a size it's unavailable, as the bra is not meant to be out until october. Maybe they were not meant to release the new Viva yet?

I was checking out a ,what I think is a German based online lingerie store called lumingerie. I was looking at all these bras from European company's. It seems that some of these company's have bras that are underwired that they describe as 'soft' and 'semi-soft' . So, when they say 'soft' , they are not meaning soft cup, like in no underwires? Someone please help me understand.

Taking a quick look, it looks like 'soft' is part of the name of some of the bras, but I think by soft cup they just mean unpadded/unlined. Semi-soft are probably unpadded/unlined bras made out of a firmer fabric.

I am not a fan of wireless bras, because underwires discipline our breasts to stay in specified place. In theory you could suspect that the bust which is exposed and lifted up by bra is bigger. But it turns out that with properly fitting bra, with the right cup size the bust looks relatively smaller. It's lighter, it's not flattened, it does not add the additional weight to the body. Suddenly the woman "starts" to have a waistline. Simply, bigger bust flattened on whole chest can hide it.

I have very close set, center-full boobs. Almost all bra gores leave red marks and sit diagonally in between my boobs.

What size are you looking for? 30F?
There are some plunge bras that can support center-full better than others for sure. Maybe try some Freya plunges.
Then there are polish bras. I've recently tried some from Kris Line and Nessa and they have much shorter gore than brands like Panache do. (And they are normal balconette not plunges so you get great support still!)
@alidieux I'm looking for 30F's or 28 G-H's. Thank you so much! I'll check out the Nessa and Kris line bras. I can't stand plunges, they don't offer any support for me and my boobs always end up looking like a buttcrack, lol.

I knew I had a big collection. But I didn't grasp the concept until I went to list the bras that don't fit me anymore on braswap. I have listed 111. You read that right. I have 111 bras for sale that don't fit anymore. I still have about 200 in my dressers. I would love to list them here ... on bratabase. But, my goodness, the time it would take to measure and photograph 111 bras! So, at what point does one have too many bras? P.S. feel free to take some off my hands! I don't have that many (maybe more like 20 or 30), but I also don't know how long you've been wearing bras. I've only been wearing properly fitting bras for about 5 or 6 years.
My problem is that a lot of the bras I don't wear anymore are just straight up worn out. Does anybody here know of any bra recycling programs (like, recycling of the actual material)? I've heard whispers of bra hooks being used to mend turtle shells, but I haven't seen any official, organized programs for that.

Okay, sports bra issues still. I’ve tried a half dozen whose names I already can’t remember however the basically all have similar issues. They hurt my neck/shoulder area. I think I’m low set. At least I look low set with my very short torso and high hip bones.
I’ve got a panache sport 30F, a Freya active force 30F ... and a shock absorber 34E. The bands feel snug though not as tight as they look in the pictures. Also my underbust is 29” or 27.5-28” snug measurement. I do have broad shoulders and broad back. I’m a true 30F in many bras, projected, narrow. I own the shock absorber. I’m thinking to send the other two back but I don’t know what to try. I have pictures of the bras but they look crazy tight and lumpy on my back and look kind of awful (I’m vain) and they aren’t comfortable.

If you are very low set and need very long straps I can recommend the Wacoal Sport Contour bra: http://bra.pe/MHqW/
It only comes in 32DDD (sister size), not in 30 bands to my knowledge. When I tried this one it didn't feel high impact to me, but I couldn't assess the fit too well because the straps were very very long for me. Could work for you maybe?
If you think the size range would work both the Shefit and the Knix Catalyst are AMAZING for support and reduced bounce. I can't really do anything with cross or racerback straps in sports bras, my neck muscles are tight and they always hurt even if they fit properly.

Went bra shopping today, once again failed to find a strapless bra. All were too big in the back, wrong cup, or my breasts pushed the wires down and created a 'shelf' in the cup. So frustrated at the lack of availability due to covid at what is supposed to be a specialty store for D cup and up

I have one in 65H, which I got in bra store, but I think I should ask for one cup bigger... Too late now though.
Still, for me it's the best fitting strapless I've ever had.
I’m on the hunt for a strapless bra too. I have one that is so small and doesn’t fit well at all. I’ve ordered the Curvy Kate Luxe so far which definitely doesn’t give a “shelf” look in my opinion. It has more projection then most (it’s not molded) has narrow wires and the band seems very sturdy and nice. Have you tried this one?

Anyone have experience reaching out to Breakout Bras customer service after receiving an order? I'm thinking about trying the chat feature they have on their website for fit help. Anyone know if they give real-time advice? If not, I will probably just write on their contact form page. I ordered one of the (newer?) Comexim models and the curvy kate ... strapless to try out, but I'm just wondering if they can give fit advice I guess. The strapless seems to be a good fit in the cups, but the Comexim bra was a total disaster, the band is ridiculously short for a 30' band and the cups are way small (I will measure them for Bratabase this week). I guess I'm hoping maybe this Comexim bra is a one-off?

I have been waiting for 2 bras from the UK for almost 2 months now, so I searched the internet to see if there was a reason. It turns out that in Canada as of August 7, 2020 (maybe elsewhere, I haven't looked), there are many international service interruptions or mail suspensions going on at present. For example, if you ... look at the link below, and then go to August 7, 2020, in the notes there is a PDF which details each country's service interruption exactly, so the UK has suspended internaitonal air packages but still does ground. If you are ordering internationally you may want to look up your own country's shipping info beforehand.

I got an order from Canada to the US within like 2 weeks and a bra from the UK through eBay in about 3-4. The Canadian order was in August. Hopefully your bras arrive soon!

Actually there's a bunch of Germany online shops that offers a wide size range, such as lace.de, Körbchenliebe, Change Lingerie... Zalando also has a lot of D+ bras. If you have PayPal, you can purchase bras in online shops abroad with the PayPal free return service, every year you can use this service for 12 times.

My only experience with bra online shopping has been with eBay and here at bratabase. On eBay you find lots of stores with perfect rep, selling cheap new with tags bras, and they accept returns :) I have purchased several times from different stores and no complain yet.
A short while ago I received an email from Bravissimo advising me the expiry date for my rewards points was being extended by 3 months due to the coronavirus. Great news and it made me wonder if other retailers were being as flexible with their reward programs. I then realized that I was not really aware of any other sites ... that offered rewards programs.
Until a tear ago, Bravissimo would reward you a free bra for every 10 bras you purchased. I guess they realized that this was costing them a lot so they revised the program to a 10GBP voucher for every 5 bras purchased. Since discovering Bravissimo, I have received 3 free bras and will get 10GBP off my next purchase.
What are your favorite rewards programs and did they allow for the coronavirus?
Edit: I initially thought Bravissimo cheapened their rewards program when they went from a free bra for every 10 purchased to the current program, but the revised program is no longer limited to the number of bras purchased. For every 5 items purchased, we get a 10GBP voucher which can be used for bra or any other items purchased. With their semi annual up to 40% off sale in full swing, Bravissimo has actually broadened their rewards program.

I love the "Passion Points" by Hunkemoller. I have average size boobs and the 70F bras from Hunkemoller collection "The Kissable" always fit me. Every Euro consumption refers to 10 points. When the points reach 500 (about purchasing 2 bras), they give me a 5 EUR discount. If I return them back, the points won't decrease. Several months ago they have a Passion Wheel, I can play it once a day for free to get extra Passion Points. On the luckiest day I can receive 200 Points by playing the wheel.
Currently the only place I order from with points is Breakout Bras. For 150 points I get 15% off, for 300 points I can get 20% off or $10 off my purchase. I think for the highest tier, 600 points, I can get 25% off an order. I’m not certain if they’ve done anything special due to Covid since I haven’t really been paying attention.

Has anyone had experience with buying/custom ordering 26 bands or found any 28 bands that run small? I initially measured as a 28F back in May and remeasured myself today, and the calculator is giving me 26G/GG after losing some weight.
I know Comexim does custom orders for 55 bands. I've been wanting to place another order with them after ... my first order didn't work out. However, now I'm a little uncertain about what size I should be getting, since I was planning an order for 28F/60HH. I'm also thinking I should just wait, since I'm still losing some weight and my current 28F bras are still fitting okay. But I wanted to ask and get an idea of what options are available for 26 bands, since I've heard they can be difficult to find. Thanks in advance!
On a side note, I'm very sad my Panache sports bras are getting a little big. My boobs were not happy on today's run. Too bad Panache doesn't go below 28!

Many polish brands provide band size 26, like Ewa Michalak, Nazeli...you can click the "by size" button under "browse" to check them out.
The brand Katherine Hamilton makes 26 bands, but I don't know a lot about them or how their bras tend to fit (there are a decent number of reviews on here of their Sophia bra, though). It looks like they offer 26 D-HH. They're also kind of pricey!
I also know of Lara Intimates if you're okay with wireless, which I am dying to try but am just out of the size range for. They offer 26-36 A-GG (all cups in all bands!).

Got my Kris Line Brilliant in 75K and Nessa Angela in 34J(75M). What lovely bras! The Nessa is almost perfect, I think I could have done 34JJ in it because I am almost quadding, and knowing how I fluctuate, I definitely prefer a looser fit. The Kris Line is slightly too big and I would've wanted that also in 75JJ ... (although that's KL sizing). Sadly both of them are sold out in 34JJ so I'll just keep these 2 because they are close enough and very comfortable still.
Now that I have 2 from different polish brands, I can compare them also.
The nessa gives a much bigger lift than KL, KL is definitely more FoB friendly, but I also think maybe it would lift me a little more if I had the size down instead. And Nessa is much tighter in the band compared to KL.
I'm gonna post reviews later and pictures and all that.
But yay 2 bras that is like 95% perfect? For about £20 a pop? Bargain, I'll tell you!

I had that 34JJ Nessa Angela on my Wishlist too. Such a nice one. It wasn't me who bought it though as I think 32K is better for me in Nessa. Keep watching maybe someone will return one soon.

For me it was a Freya Ada plunge bra. It was so gorgeous! I actually did buy it, twice in two sizes. It just didn’t work for me. It gave me the pointiest look ever! I kept feeling the need to say “fire torpedoes!”. I ended up selling it. I just wish Freya bras weren’t so pointy with wide wires. If they fielded that, I’d legit buy a ton of them.
I loved the Just Flew In longline. I had a 30F (or 28FF?) that was too big for me and I sold it. I should have hung onto it - I really doubt I’ll ever be 28E again.
There have been quite a few others - the fruit cocktail Ewa bra and a few from the now defunct Wellfitting - that were just too expensive to justify buying.

Weird question but I hate sweating in my nice bras, so I wear shittier bras when I'm doing gardening and stuff, but they're so uncomfortable now when I've sized out of them, plus I'm still sweaty in them so it doesn't feel great.
What kind of bras do you guys wear for doing random crap around the house? I was thinking to buy a bikini so I get the support but it's bikini material so it doesn't matter if I sweat as much haha. Idk if that's a shitty idea or not lol?

Usually if I’m going to be getting worked up enough to sweat, like yard work, wash car, or intense housework, I wear a sports bra. Then I’m comfortable and don’t put any wear n tear on my nice bras.
I haven't tried a sportsbra in 5 years and never one with wires even, but they seem to be a little too.. secure and sturdy for the purpose. I just want something comfy but separating and with a little lift so there isn't underboob sweat :D

About the Paypal bit. fees become really steep if your account is not from the US. And in many countries it is not easy, cheap or possible at all to cash out that money out of paypal back to your bank account. Has to be treated as paypal coins only to buy with it.
Well, if you find something from Polish brands that you'd be interested in maybe I could help, if shops themselves wouldn't be interested in sending abroad :)
