Wearing my 40JJ - Curvy Kate » Curvy Kate Poppy Balcony Bra (CK10011) all day today and it feels great- pretty amazing after wearing wireless bras since March! It’s so light and beautiful, the perfect bra for late summer. Plus the shape is very round and projected and makes me look good. I know Curvy Kate is getting a purple version in in a few months- I will probably have to snap it up. I’m a little sad I missed the lemonade version.

Panache non wired latte was the best non-wired bra for a minimizing Bra and wearing white shirts.
However, the Covid has changed everything, I want to find something good for support like Panache sports bra with wires, and that I could wear under the white shirts and also that I could have some minimizing effect.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this is good advice....Before I understood sizing, was smaller (around a UK 32FF?), just shopped in US department stores, and was on a mission to look as small chested as possible... I used to wear a Wacoal Seamless Underwire minimizer or a Wacoal Slimline Shaping Minimizer everyday in a US 32DDD. You can get them on ebay for pretty cheep.
They make you wider but flatter and really support / strap you in. I would also use a small liner to hide nipples if I was wearing a t-shirt.

I got the Amore Mio bralette style and the Ardea in a regular plunge. I am so excited! I really hope they fit. My Wellfittings by Comexim fit perfectly for six months until I gained weight :’( and my most recent Ginger is either too small or too plunging and one of the hooks came off and I never replaced it because it just didn’t work anyway. I really want these to work for me!

I found a lovely Freya bikini top called Total Check Bardot on Ebay. Unfortunately there's no information about it on Bratabase. I also can't add a link because something of the Bratabase System is going wrong, but with Google you can check it out. I think it's a bandeau cut.

Cup width: 14.0-15.0 cm
Cup depth: 22.5-23.5 cm
Usually I need a bra with open cup tops, so most of the Freya bras can cause quad boobs on me. But I don't know if I could still find something from their swimwear. Especially if I can fit in the 30F Total Check Bardot Bikini Top.
By the way, what about the sizing of Freya bikini bottoms? I have about 103 cm around my hip and 77 cm across my navel. I usually wear cotton panties from C&A in size M. I also have a Cleo Marcie pantie in size M but it is too small and cause a muffin top look.
Any opinions or suggestions are welcome

I have one Freya bikini top I had good success with recently. It’s pretty open on top, so I’m assuming the check bikini top, very cute by the way, would be constructed pretty similarly on the inside. As far as bottoms go, I wear a 38(10) in EU sizing and a size small in Freya. I find their bottoms run on the larger size.
I really love the Freya padded sweetheart Bikini, it is generous in sizing and open enough on top top for my fot shape. I don't know if the bandeaus have the same cut. I just read it has padded cup, so I assume they use a similar pattern?
I measure 109cm in hips and wear size L bottom in Freya high waist bikini bottoms (they not that high waisted on me, but good coverage).

Debating ordering and trying the Bravissimo Alana again, it's on sale now for £22. But I don't know if I should or not.. And in what size. 34JJ or 34K. I've tried both of them before in store, but I was pretty stressed so didn't really experience the fit that well. However I remember it being a bit scratchy.
If I ... do order it I think I'll also order the Arla.
I'm waiting for my brastop order with the Nessa and Kris Line also, but even if they do end up fitting I want a few different types of bras in rotation, some that are more "casual" feeling wise. Like if I'm sweaty I don't wanna put on a nice polish bra haha.
I'm also still thinking about that beautiful Freya Offbeat. I know it won't fit well but it could be comfortable

I’m a 34E I need a 34F in Alana
I've tried the Millie in 34JJ which was too shallow/small, and Darcy in 34KK which is too big, so I'm thinking 34K as a nice middle ground, especially because it doesn't have to be a perfect fit for the purpose I'm wanting to get it for.

This happens to me a lot with Ewa and Comexim bras - the lace covering the cups eventually rips. I just noticed it on my Sonia I’m wearing today and I have no idea how it happened.Has this ever happened to your bras, and if so, do you know of a way to repair it so it still looks nice? I’m thinking of getting some fabric glue but I don’t want to make it look even worse if it’s not going to dry clear.

I just had the lace rip on a freya Bralette that I've only worn less than 10 times. I don't have advice other than I feel your pain :(
Glue is a bad idea. It will stick to the under cup, be stiff, and not move/stretch properly. I would personally try hand sewing just the lace layer back together with some well placed stitches. Another option would be to remove the lace all together

This site is amazing...and there's so much! I live in the U.S. and am still figuring out my new size in different brands after a rapid weight gain. (I'm pretty sure I'm a 32H in Elomi). I want to try Curvy Kate, Comexim, and anything else people swear by. I need to try on multiple sizes and ... then send back the ones that don't fit, so I'm looking for free shipping and hopefully free returns. I thought I had this with FigLeaves then saw I was charged $20 for some import tax thing because they are based in the UK. The UK seems to have the best variety and prices, Any advice with UK sites or which US sites have good policies? Thank you!!!!!

When I was first figuring out my shape and size, I used the free shipping options through Amazon a lot. Some areas have a feature called Wardrobe, where you order several items and only pay for what you want. Another option is Amazon Prime.
I also use Paypal's free return shipping feature. You have to buy the item through Paypal, and then if it doesn't fit, you can return it through the mail and paypal will reimburse you. In Canada, I think you get up to $30 per return, and up to 10 returns a year (or something like that)....it should be similar in the US. You have to take a picture of the box with postage labels on it, and also show the receipt of the return as proof.
My two favorite U.S.-based bra retailers are Breakout Bras and Levana Bratique--BoB has free shipping for orders over $25, but it doesn't look like either of them offer free returns. Price wise, BoB is definitely better, but it wouldn't surprise me if Levana has a higher number of bras available than BoB. Have fun on Bratabase!
Edit: Forgot about Herroom! Herroom has free shipping on orders over $70, and I'd say they're kind of in between BoB and Levana both in terms of price and stock.

Brastop sale + a 15% off code , bargain! Bought a Nessa bra that I hope will fit me at 34J, and another Kris Line in 34K. I confirmed with brastop what sizing they use for Kris Line, they said they translate other eu sizes, like Nessa, to the UK sizes, so when you order 34J you'll get 34(whatever J ... is in EU, M?) but for Kris Line because the sizing is different, they said if they list as 34K it means 34K in Kris line sizing. So we'll see! But for about £20 each I figured worth a shot

I also bought Nessa in Brastop and the UK 32K I bought is a 70O in EU sizing. The cups are on the smaller side as I am 32JJ in other UK brands like Elomi and even 32J in Fantasie. and need 32K / 70O in Nessa. Bands are tight!

Hm hopefully the 34J will work out for me, it should come out as a 34M , but this is the first time I'm trying these polish bras in sizes smaller than I usually try. I've tried Nessa in 80N before and it was obviously too big, so this should hopefully work for me :D

So I ordered two bras, one in a special size and one in a special size and 3HC to plunge. I added the changes in the comments and also emailed them the changes. They charged my paypal but I didn’t get a response. Should I be worried? Should I follow up?

I always just put requested changes in English and Polish in the comment box with a statement that says "I accept that these are not returnable". I never get an email back from them, and my orders have all been processed correctly (as far as I can tell, except once they didn't overlap my underwire at the gore). Maybe because you put the alterations in the comments they just accepted your order and are processing it? That's a tricky one though because you did email them too. Maybe try emailing them again to confirm?
My comments were read and completed on my last order without the confirmation but you could email them to follow up.

So I've noticed in a lot of my bras the hooks on the back come undone throughout the day. Its the bottom hook, or bottom 2 hooks if there are 3 sometimes. What's that about??? It doesn't happen with sports bras while working out which seems wierd....

Is it possible the band is too loose? Sports bras tend to be tighter. Does your waist come in sharply compared to your rib cage?
@renemy I thought the band might be too loose but tightening doesnt seem to make much difference. I do have a difference in measurements between my waist and ribcage, and I'm short waisted as well (my waist is pretty high up on my torso, I cant wear long lines or anything with front zip closure) so that could play a role!

Hi everyone, it's been a very long times since I've participated on this site. Long story short, I've basically found my goldilocks bra styles/sizes so I don't have much of a need to try out a bunch of new styles. That being said, after 4 years my Ewa Michalak 3d Beżuś is finally ... disintegrating so I need a replacement. Funnily enough my SM Margot and Sm Czarna Mgiełka are still going strong, the integrity of the band on the Czarna is starting to go, but Margot is in amazing shape.
I'm currently 70E in Ewa Michalak and both 3d and Pl carry that size. Is there anyone that has tried both styles and do you have any thoughts how the fit compares? I've looked at some measurements but I didn't really notice a huge difference between the two in terms of hard numbers.

I have both cuts! Off the top of my head: 3D has a lower gore and the cups are rotated in and up slightly and seem a little more closed off than the PL. I like the 3D more than the PL but I've moved up a cup and she doesn't make the 3D in 65FF.
However, I haven't worn either cut in a bit since it's summer and I'm favoring my SMs right now. I will try them on later today and refresh my memory to give you a better opinion.

the panache dahlia balconnet (http://bra.pe/X2pZ/) is the first non-stretch cup bra to fit me almost perfectly. does that mean that i should try some more panache balconnets? i've tried the andorra (full cup) and the jasmine and they do not fit. does anyone know if the Tango Ii will fit the same?.... i've only tried the Tango plunge and it does not fit, the older style Andorra plunge fits.
i'm a size 32D and not much info is logged in with that size to compare.

this is what i do: i buy a store made bra that i like the fit of, then i cut it in half at the gore vertically. then i take one whole half apart with a seam ripper. trace the pattern on paper and take measurements of the elastic, wire, hook, etc. sizes. then i buy new parts that match those sizes.
then with the traced paper pattern, i add seam allowances, then use those paper patterns to cut out fabric of similar type and then put it all back together and use that original side i never took apart to see how it's supposed to go.
i've tried pre-made patterns, but for me this works easier and makes u learn how it all works better in my opinion.
it sounds daunting, but it only usually takes me 2 hrs from start to finish. but i have fast hands. :)
*keep in mind, fabric stretch direction. :)
@hopeforthefuture I thought about that. So far I've only found 1 bra that really fits and is comfy. Which is part of why I'm looking into this lol where do you but supplies like fabric and underwires and hooks ?

Hello everyone! New user here. I have a couple questions at the bottom of this post. I haven't worn an underwire bra for over six years. Now I'm fed up with chafing from sweaty boobs in wireless bras (Rhonda Shear, Torrid bralettes, Champion sports bras) and the elastic in all of my bras is wearing out, so it's time to ... see if I can find an underwire that fits! Or at least wireless bras that use actual bra sizing and provide some separation.
The prospect is daunting, I remember underwires as painful. Hopefully a good fit will help. Years ago, before I got fed up with the discomfort and marks that my bras made on my ribcage, I wore 32DDD in panache and Lunaire. That size definitely doesn't work for me now, and I'm doubtful it was correct back then.
About me (best guess based on guides): pendulous/projected, short roots high on my chest, slightly center full, narrow shoulders (straps like to fall off). I'm short (5'1"), so I've had issues with wings and underwires digging in my armpits.
Snug rib cage: 31"
Horizontal perimeter: 16.5"
Standing bust: 39"
Leaning bust: 46"
So far, I've added my body measurements to my profile, as well as bra measurements for some of my wireless bras. Next I placed a Prime Wardrobe order (picking sizes like shots in the dark, 34:7 and 32:9 in Cleo, Freya, and Lunaire) and inputted bra fit and measurements for those bras. I was comically busting out of those cups!
32 band seems to be correct. The A Bra That Fits measurement tool recommends 32H or 32GG (UK), 32:10 or 32:11, depending on my monthly fluctuating breast fullness. The Bratabase tool's recommendations are currently 32JJ - 32K (32:14-15).
Question 1: should I remove the wireless bra measurements from my profile, could they be skewing my results? They don't have real cups, and I wear the bands looser than you would for an underwire, because they're not actually lifting the tissue up to the IMF, just holding the breasts down so they don't swing around.
Question 2: is there a way to find other people with measurements like mine on bratabase? Seems like finding a twin or someone close to my shape might help. There's such a wide range between 32:10 and 32:15 that I don't know where to start. And it sounds like I might need a cup with immediate projection?

Gah, I just wrote a reply then accidentally lost the post before adding my comment. Here we go again...
Question 1: You should enter in all bras whether they fit or not, as long as you're using the fit questions, then your profile will reflect that. However, I find that recommendations/size info don't really work very well until you've inputted a few bras that do fit. I used the ABTFs measurements as a starting point for myself. They overestimated my cup size because I'm projected leaning over and not very top full, but it was a good starting point. You'll have to try on a few bras before you finally find one that fits. Once you start entering bras that fit into here, the recommendations and sizing estimations get more accurate.
Question 2: There are a couple great ways to search for similar profiles/boobs. -Start on this homepage and go to "browse" at the top,
-then "browse by size", then click on your index size you want to search (ex: 32:11).
-Then browse the pictures and click on one to view the measurements, pictures, profiles, reviews, etc.
Once you find someone that has similar measurements, you can view their profile and the other bras that fit them. I find it helpful when the profiles also have their measurements listed, but not everyone makes this information public. You can also look at measurements of each bra and start to get a feel what will fit based on perimeters like "cup width" "cup depth" "cup height", etc.
Another handy thing you can do is go to "browse"
-"browse by size"
-then click on the index size
-Then there's a little button on the upper left "measurements", click there
-From here you can modify the bra measurement you want to search for. So for example, if you want to search for a bra with cup depth of 8.7 - 9.1", then you use the dropdown menu for "cup depth", then then search by cup depth on the graph.
It all starts making more sense once you find at least one bra that mostly fits. From there you can start to use the data to search for other bras and people that have similar measurements, makes, etc.
You can also use the fit request once you start trying bras.
I'll see if I can remember any users to tag for you. ...

So out of curiosity I put on my 34J Cleo Hettie. And it fits. Like yeah it's too big in the band and I get slight wrinkle in bottom of cup and the shape is not my ideal but it fits. 32J? Band fits.. no wrinkle, slightest quadding. Feels super uncomfortable though like wearing a straight jacket lol. But yeah ... my boobs fits in the cup, although it's being squished into a different shape..
Tango 34J that I was having spillage and no gore tacking just a few weeks ago? none of that now. Now there's some gaping in the top again.Jasmine 36J floating gore for weeks? Nah today we are tacking with some wrinkles in the top WOO!
So now suddenly I'm fitting into sizes that I haven't been in ages? Bras that were floating gores now fit great?

Oh my! That's awesome that some of your old bras fit again! :) Actually I can so relate to that! I often try on old bras just to find out something fits that has not fitted 1 month before and other wise trying on bras in the morning and nothing fits.
Sometimes the gores float for other reasons thatn a cup being too small. If a band or cup too large it can float too... or if the shape isn't right or the wires have been bent.
Often I think bras are just evil. I mean so many times a bra looked like a great fit, it even felt comfortable when I wore it for (1 h trial ) but as soon as I removed the tag - it didn't fit at all and was uncomfortable as hell. (Best would be to try new bras 1 day - but that's not possible if you want to return it ) So your bras seem to have overcome their evil phase and fit you again :D
I wonder if bra size (weight?) fluctuations are more common in larger sizes?
I save all my faves that dont quite fit and try them on every few months. I tell myself I'm saving money that way lol its sooo frustrating though. I feel like I've gone back and forth so many times as I learn more about a good fit and my breast shape. It's a constantly moving target!

Has anyone had any success with emailing Comexim if a custom order isn't fulfilled with all the alterations? I know it's a common problem to ask for modifications, and they aren't done. I read a comment about someone having success emailing Anna about discrepancies and receiving a full refund, but I'm unsure how often that happens. Thanks in advance!

I'm curious too. I need to measure but after trying on my order I got today I think only 1 cup was altered in one of my bras lol the smaller side has a much bigger discrepancy in fit than usual....
@confused I sent them an email, and I'm hoping they'll respond soon. I've heard people have better luck emailing Anna, so I tried addressing the email to her. However, I always end up getting responses from Joanna.
I ordered one cup size up with alterations, so the only way the cups have a chance of fitting me is if the alterations are actually done... ): Two of the alterations I requested were done on both bras (overlapping gore & 4x2 hooks which doesn't affect the cup volume at all), so I'm thinking they read my comments but just ignored the alterations about the cups?

Any suggestions for brands that have low gores that are NOT plunge? I fall out of plunge but need a very short gore. I've been wearing Tia by Elomi but it's been discontinued and the underwire extends far beyond what I think it should; actually goes under my armpit and to the back crease of my arm and has lots ... of extra fabric there as well but nothing noticeable over clothes and the best of what I could find. I'm a 32GG in the Elomi Tia. FOB so usually a lace top is best because I never fill up the cup on my smaller side.

I saw that the Elomi Tia is a bandless bra, so maybe you can search for some other Elomi bandless models to try. By the way, Change Lingerie also provides wired triangle bras with very low center gores and the size can up to UK 32GG. Maybe you can fit in one of them with some luck.
Elomi Tia is a very tall bra. I think it's a reason why it's discontinued, the fit was off in larger sizes. I tried a 32J that run very large. I think Elomi Lydia Bandless Bra (EL4390) is based on Tia cut but improved. Also Elomi Morgan Banded Bra (4110) or Elomi Meredith Bra (4440) do have a lower cup / wire but are not plunge bras and have stretchy lace on top.
