I sometimes read about how Brand Model Y is based on Brand Model X, or that Brand Model Z is the "new" iteration of Brand Model X. For example, "New Panache Model" is based on Panache Jasmine's frame, or (real example!) Cleo Asher is supposed to be the successor of Cleo Marcie. However, it can be hard to find this ... information. Sometimes it seems to be announced by the brand and picked up by the blogosphere, occasionally I will see it on a store website description, but I rarely see it on a brand's site. If you go to their site, it may tell you that Model Y is a three piece unlined balconette, yadda yadda yadda, but it won't say if there is any relationship between past bras, i.e., this fits similar to Model X.
Is there somewhere this sort of information is actually easily accessed? Trade publications? Or are we all relying on hearsay or experience from bra fitters and enthusiasts noticing that Models X, Y, and Z are all similar in construction and fit?
I would love to be able to click on the description of each model and find out it uses the same wires as Panache Envy, or the cut of the cup is based on Cleo Hettie, etc. With Freya, there is a bit of a general rule that certain model types fit a particular way, but I do not think this is as true for Panache, Fantasie, or Cleo. And if the model hasn't been reviewed, I have no idea if it is likely to fit. I suspect some of the lesser known cuts might get more sales if people knew if they were similar to past bras, which they probably are! I doubt Panache, etc. designers are completely starting from scratch on every single bra. Some of these are likely updates or based on a discontinued style. Why not say, hey, if you loved Discontinued Model X, you may adore New Model Y, which has a similar cut and/or wires?

Oh man I love the look of so many of the Freya soft cup bras! But I can’t wear them due to the wide wires and pointy cups. I always feel like I have a bullet bra on from the 1950’s lol. I’ve thought about trying to swap out the wires for narrower ones, like I’ve done to other bras in the past, but also taking the tip of the cup in to make it more round. I feel some bra science coming on lol.
I would love the pointy cups but definitely not the wires. I wish I was confident enough with my (non existent) sewing skills to get a narrower wire :D
I might still order it to try it, never know, it could still be comfortable and at this point that's all that matters to me :P
