I found this bra on eBay for about $20, hoping that Cleo would be a improvement since Freya doesn't seem to quite work with my shape. I was right! It is perfect for my shape and I prefer the roundness that Cleo gives. The only issue that I have is that the cups sag slightly when I slouch but the fit in the rest of the cup is spot-on. From other reviews, it might be because the embroidery isnt as elastic as other Cleo bras with the same cut. Because of this, I might try to add a touch of elastic to keep the top of the cup in place. Otherwise, I think I will stick to Cleo!
As far as looks go, it's pretty but not my cup of tea. I like the shade of pink is pretty on my skin and the embroidered flowers look better in person than they do in pictures, it's just not my style.
I like this bra. It fits really well around and the wires fit perfectly. The issue is some wrinkling at the top of the cup. I think it's more related to the bra being incompatible with my breast shape.
I paid less for this then my usual bras and I probably shouldn't have gotten it. The bra is very pretty and the cups fit perfectly, but the band is a little too short and it causes the bra to sit too high up, making the underwires poke into me a little. My wires were a little warped for some reason, so I was able to fix the center gore a little by bending the underwire, but the outer ends poke into my sides when I walk. Also the dots are stitched in and every bra I saw in the store had loose minithreads coming off them a little (1 mm). Still, very pretty bra and I am wearing it for now until I can afford another bra
Right breast, happy. Left (and larger), quad boob just a tiny bit, but on the inside more than the top. If I wiggle and scrunch the cup down and then pull it up, it fits OK on the left but is big on the right. Straps are way too far apart.
Odd problem: although I fill out the bottom, I feel as though my breast was slightly wrinkled at the bottom. I have pendulous breasts and perhaps my breast wasn't sitting as comfortably as it might appear.
Projection is 10.5, shallower than the cup depth. Odd.
Cheerful yellow (I hate yellow) but it will be underneath clothes. Unfortunately, the lace pattern shows up under T-shirts and smooth material.
Update: April 2013: I quad boob more in the middle near the gore. It's not visible under clothes but the larger breast really feels like it wants to ooze over the edge of the cup. It's not bad enough to stop wearing this bra but enough that I won't get this size/style again.
Oh how I wish the Darcy Padded Balconette fit me right! I absolutely love the pattern. It's cute without being TOO ~whimsical. The material is also very comfortable, and the cup width is good without being too tall in the armpits. However, I either need to go up a cup size or the cup shape is too shallow. The quad-boob the Darcy gives me is... shall we say, epic? At first it didn't seem so bad. Then I threw on a top and after a little while, noticed with dismay that I had four boobs https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
But not one to give ...up so easily, I tried it on again last night, thinking maybe it wasn't as bad as I remembered. It wasn't... it was WORSE. Like, from the side my tits form a "B" worse. It's not even the lace edging the cups causing this, because the lace stretches. It seems the top of the cups cut in just so, while the cups are just shallow enough to cause the perfect storm of boob spillage.
The band is also on the bigger side of 30. I felt the most comfortable on the tightest hooks. Do they even make this bra in a 28? Anyway, were I to give Darcy another chance, it would have to be in like a 28H or 30GG, not my "default" size of 30G. Read more 126 more words
Description: a navy blue unlined 3-part constructed cup with white/pink/purple embroidery at the cup's edge. Straps are fully adjustable.
Pros: this bra fits me like a *glove.* I love the support and comfort of the bra! Cleo gives me a natural "my-boobs-but-better" shape and is good for everyday wear. There's a good mix of forward/side projection to mimic natural gravity-defying boobs. The undersides of the wires/straps also have a soft microfiber to prevent chafing and rubbing--a small detail I greatly appreciate.
Cons: The band does need to be broken in a bit before I can wear it comfortably (hooray for extenders!) for an extended period of time. The straps also ...get larger once you hit GG+ on the Cleo bras and I'm not quite sure why I need these gargantuan straps on my 28GG :\ I could do just fine with the straps on the 28G, kthx
One last personal gripe: I HATEHATEHATE the cutesy detailing at the edge of the cup. It's a mixture of white/pink/lavender flowers and cutesy polka-dots along the edges. I can sew down the polka-dots, but I'm stuck with the cutesy colored embroidery (not my thing). I wish they would have kept it a solid color similar to the colorway like the embroidery on the Cleo Lucy in purple, yellow, black, and white. Read more 108 more words
- The bra band is really tight but that may just be because I don't know how tight a well fitting bra is. - The section of the cup with the top panel is not completely filled by my boobs. Also, the top ridge of the cups dig into the top of my boobs a little (minor quadboob).
As I suspected, this fits me much better than the 30FF does.
I do get a touch of quadboob in the bigger breast, but that's alleviated when I pinch the gore together a bit, so I will be altering it shortly (BrasIHate suggested this for those who are fuller on top, which I am)
I am in love with this yellow. It's so bright and happy!
The band feels MUCH stretchier than my navy/pink 30FF, but maybe it's just me. I'll update with any other things when I get back later/after I've worn it for some time.
This doesn't fit me properly, but it's a petty bra and seems well made. It cuts too sharply in at the top for me but might be good for someone with less full-on-top boobs. The wires are pretty wide, which is great for me.
Pros: I received this bra from a fellow Bratabase user. I love the sunshine-yellow color. I thought it would look gross on me, but once I put it on, I felt a little energized and quite cheery! There's even a cute pink bow at the center gore. Lucy hides nicely under clothing and gives a very natural, flattering shape and is good for "bottom-heavy" and "evenly-full" breasts. I could see this bra being heaven in the summer given the mesh fabric's breathable quality.
Nitty gritty: straps are fully adjustable, band runs true to size. There is microfiber on the underwires (on the portion ...facing your body, of course!) and the straps--quite a nice comfort detail if you ask me!
Cons: Unfortunately for me, Lucy was too small in the cup. To give enough slack on the straps to accommodate my larger breast caused my breasts to look ridiculously lop-sided. The lace on Lucy cut in on top on my larger breast and couldn't contain the tissue should I wiggle about or bend over. My breasts began to pull the gore apart, too, which was weird (not as in shred/wreck it, more like put strain on the poor thing). I'm sizing up a cup to see if this is worth saving/compatible for me. I like that this is a little snugger band than in other brands I have tried.
In theory this bra fits fine, but the lateral sides of the cups (up by my pecs) cut in and I feel like they are attempting to saw off my arm. Not a big fan. But the rest of it is fine, I just can't really get past the friction.
Most people hate this bra. It is a little bit of a strange fit. But I must have strange breasts, because I don't think it fits too poorly. I had to go up one cupsize. My usual size, 28D, caused quad-boob. A problem commonly mentioned with this bra is that the top is not "open" enough, so even when it does fit, it can cause unflattering bulges. Perhaps because I am on the small size, this isn't noticeable on me. If you have close-set breasts I would definitely avoid this bra.
I marked this bra "okay" across the board because there isn't really anything special about it. It doesn't really create much of a shape on me.
This is one of those bras that seems large at first when you put it on. But after swooping and scooping, some time to settle into the cups, and strap adjustment it fits fine. The appearance that it doesn't fit is at the top of the cups, but once it is given time to settle around the body the wrinkling goes away. I do find the wires to be too wide, just like I do with all my bras.
Material is a bit scratchier then what I like, I find it a bit irritating at the area where the under arm joins the strap. I like the two hook/eyes instead of three, but many women would find this to be a problem. We will see how wash and wear changes the scratchy feeling, will update the review after time.
I haven't worn my Harry much before it became too small. It gave me a very nice round shape, however, and I think it's beautiful. It's a really good unpadded bra for wide root shallow breasts. The centre gore is narrower than in the Cleo balconettes, although the measurements don't show this: It stays pretty narrow all the way down.
Fit when I first got it, but thanks to tissue migration it's started to cut in a little bit on top. Fairly wide underwires but not uncomfortably so. Even stretch on the entire cup sets this apart from the Marcie, which I found to have too much of a stretch differential between the bottom/side of the cup and the upper lace part.
How tall were the cups? Was it more full coverage?
