The 36H appears to be the magic size for me in this bra! The gore tacks. The wires are still slightly too wide, but seem narrower than usual for Elomi. ...The cups have a slight compression, but don’t cause me to quad. There may be slight wrinkling at the bottom, but it’s really not that bad. The band is snug, not too tight or too loose. The straps are an adequate length, instead of being slightly too long in the 36HH.
What’s odd is that this bra in 34HH vs 36H didn’t fit quite as well. Part of me thinks it’s because the 34HH is too snug in the band which caused some shallowness in the cups. Either way, this size is my magic size in this bra, I guess. Hooray for another sports bra win! I now have 2 sports bras in my collection, which is probably enough for now (I’m not super active at the gym right now so I don’t want to go crazy buying a bunch of sports bras…although I’m liking the two that I have and wouldn’t mind a couple more to rotate…but my bank account says no.) Super helpful for folks in your range seeing a bunch of sports bras reviews <3
Especially as sports bras are often underrepresented on here!
Love this on you! The pattern is fabulous. High-five for the bra win! Totally agree with bubblegum, every review is valuable!
Thanks bubblegum and Happy2BraShop! I know my range isn’t common so I’ve been trying to post as much as I can. :)
I like this pattern, but there’s a few others in this bra that I really like, too! The tropical camo is cute and so is that lime green one that I tried in 36HH. I’ll honestly probably end up with at least one more of these before the end of July hahaha. I have 0 self control when it comes to bras lately.
I love that pattern! Congrats on getting the size figured out :)
I had a 34HH Tia back when I was a smaller size, and while it still wasn’t a perfect fit, it was nowhere near as awful as this!
For some reason this bra has wrinkles and emptiness on the sides (I’m guessing the wires being too wide is the culprit). But then it smashed my boobs so close together there was no way the gore was ever going to even touch my sternum. It was literally that bad. The fabric also literally has no give except for the lace on top, which was the only part that fit fine.
So R.I.P. to my dreams of ever wearing a Tia again. Unfortunately, it is not a match for me anymore. 0/10 would not recommend for my body.
I love the enthusiasm in your reviews. It’s almost like hearing you actually talk about the bras. Sorry this one doesn’t work for you. Do you think it had enough projection? Or not? I’m trying to learn how different fit issues can look so I can find a better fit myself.
dagmarwulfe thanks! I’ve always been pretty casual in writing, so it just come naturally to me haha!
The problem with Tia (at least for me) is that the fabric literally has no give. According to its measurements, it should be a more projected bra, but I think because of its build it just didn’t work out for me. I need quite a bit of projection!
The Tia is such a weird one. I'd be curious to see if it fits you better in a 36H! Elomi sizing is just weird and confusing.
Adler613 when I used to wear a 34HH I had a Tia and the gore never tacked, so I’m not sure if sizing down to 36H would be a good fit but I guess it’s worth a shot!
Yeah, it's super weird sizing, like I said! I find 2 sizes too big will seem to fit right, 1 size too big acts too small and doesn't want to tack, and 2-3 sizes below my calculator sizes either fits perfectly or is a clear shape mismatch. So weird.
I tried Tia a while back in what was my actual size then, but the fit was totally off. The wires were insanely wide and the cups much too tall for me. (and I usually like tall bras) So yeah this one is an odd one. Maybe there have been some that were okay then they made others with false grading in larger cups? Sorry it doesn't work for you anymore.
I also tried this bra in 32JJ and 34J, neither did work for me. The band on this 34J was too big and it would not feel supportive enough. The cups are quite wide as it's usual for Elomi bras, the top lace part is stretchy. The fit of the cups was okay for me. The biggest issue with this bra were the wires which hurt me very painfully. Even after just trying it on for a short time, the wires started to dig in under my boobs. I am really not sure why that happens, I assume it might be that this bra is too shallow in cups and my boobs pushed the cups down which ended up in it being painful to wear. So sadly this bra is just not for me.
Wow, this is the most impressed I've been by a bra that doesn't fit me. The wires are laughably wide on me, but they don't poke or feel uncomfortable at all. The cups are too shallow and my breasts don't fill out the bottom of the cup, and yet it still feels very supportive and gives a smooth profile. The least comfortable thing for me is that the band feels fairly tight, but even that is surprisingly more comfortable than it should be. The pressure of the band is more spread out than other tight bands. Despite how clearly this doesn't fit me, I actually considered keeping it! I will definitely be trying to sister-size down to the right cup size.
Quality and material feels excellent. Very soft and smooth. It's definitely not the most attractive sports bra, but I prefer to work out with a shirt on anyway.
This bra was recommended by Bratabase because the measurements are supposedly similar to my 75K - Kris Line » Scheherazade Soft (L1105) bra, which is currently my best fitting bra.
Unfortunately, the suggestion was a dud. I know that molded cups generally aren’t a great idea for those of us who are projected, but I figured the spacer fabric would be safer to try than a fully padded bra.
First, the good: the color is awesome, super red and sexy. The bra itself is super comfortable and soft! The band has a great firmness that isn’t too snug or loose. The bra is bandless which is ...an amazing feature as well. This bra would be totally awesome and comfortable if it fit.
Now, the bad: the cups are way too small but super wide. So I think this could be an orange in a glass situation. The cups are also a little east-west. As you can see, there is major quadding and the gore is 2 fingers away from my sternum.
I personally don’t think it would be worth trying this in a larger size mainly because the wires are already too wide in this size and it would only get worse.
Oh well, it was worth a try. It only verified that my shape is too projected for a bra like this.
FYI my shape- pendulous, projected, even vertical fullness, center full horizontally, splayed, average root width, average or short root height. Read more 137 more words
Elomi Lucie is a new style that came out in SS2020 in the color "meadow". The cut is the same as their other plunge bras and it has a stretch lace top, so it's similar to Kim and Charley. What makes it stand out to me is that it doesn't have a elastic strip at the cup edge, It's all smooth lace.
About the bra: The knitted fabric is super soft, satin-y feeling but not shiny and comfortable. The stretch lace is very soft but not flimsy, it does support well. There is a nice design feature that the band has a leo print on while the other lace ...on the bra is floral matching the print. At first I didn't even wanted to order this bra as it didn't impress me with it's floral pattern and black lace combo (boring) but it's actually very cute. I just wished they branched out and would have matched the lace to one of the flowers colors like that gorgeous sky blue, light pink or pale yellow. It would made it look more delicate and spring like than just add black lace. On the other side the black lace makes it look a bit more sexy.
My shape: tall, narrow to average wide roots, VERY full on top, projected, center heavy
Recently I had a bra and boob crisis. No bra fitted my PMS boobs. Then I got a few Elomis to try and there was the Lucie. When I put it on, it was bra love. It was relief and comfort and it fitted! No cutting in, no quadboob that I was so sick of - it just gave me a super rounded uplifted shape.
The wires are on the harder side for Elomi. They are the only wires that work for me. They are also a bit wide but I accept that. The cups are deep and have good projection at the wire and thanks to the stretch lace it is very roomy on top. Combined with the wider wires it gives a rather round but a bit closer to chest fit. Imo the best fit to support a large bust. The lower gore is a bit unusual to me but on this bra it doesn't hurt me.
It's safe to say that Lucie is my favorite Elomi bra so far. The size 32JJ is a perfect fit and even works better on my PMS boobs as I fill out the stretch lace more and my shape gets super round which I haven't seen in an Elomi bra before. This is the only bra of Elomi so far I'd call good for fot. (their other styles are wearable too but better suited for fob) I can't wait for new colors in this style. Read more 351 more words
The bra was a huge fail on me. I tried a few plunge bras from Elomi and had some issue with them then I decided to try one of their "full cup" bandless / banded styles. The Tia is a bandless bra, they do not state that it is a full cup bra but I would say it is just by how it fits? The cups came up very high on me, it is one of the tallest bras I tried recently. The band feels tts for a 32 band and was a good fit on me (I'm around 31 Inch underbust). The wires were much too wide ...for me, it was ridiculous, they ended on my back.
The fit reminded me of the 32JJ - Curvy Kate » Delightfull Full Cup Bra (1111) but the CK bra wasn't as tall as the Tia. Also while the cups fit me very well when looked at from the front, there was some weird underarm side gaping going on. There was too much room where I don't need it. The cups had a stretchy lace part that would cover almost all my breast tissue that is why there was not cutting in from the cup edge because no soft tissue left to cut in. The bra is really full coverage that's why I would call it a full cup. I can say that the bra is good quality and the fabric is nice, the cut and shape is just all wrong for me. It would be an interesting experience if you tried it with smaller, like G/H letters.
The situation is reminescent of past thrift (bröcki) shop failures I had when band fits but cups are way too voluminous.
Except that, lol, given the huge misfit, the external parts of the cups behaved as a wings.
Have a superb weekend ;)
Although this one didn't workout for you, at least it added valuable data here to help others in their search for the perfect bra. For that, we all thank you! Each and every bra helps to strengthen the database, so yay for the new data you added!
Yikes, that has to be one of the tallest bras I've ever seen. Who was this built for?
Yes at least I got some data from the bra. It was interesting to try. I don't think that G or H cup would work for me. It would be too small. On the front I need the room in the cups, it is just too wide at the sides. Maybe a 34H with a firm band?
Yeah, 2 to 4 cups smaller would be getting you some serious quadding for sure!
Those cups look very voluminous for the letter.
I mean a volume takes 3 dimensions and the conventional definition of cup size is made on the base of a single dimention, the circumference.
Going down in the alphabet could be an interesting experience.
@femineaaterna With all due respect, you are trying to "school" someone who has been on the site for more than 6 years and has plenty of experience and knowledge on the subject. You seem to lack an understanding of the brand and their sizing, and suggesting alisa go down 2 to 4 cups from a J cup to a H or G cup is not logical at all, and in reality is insulting. While a 32HH (not 32 H or 32G) may yield better results for her, it looks more like this bra shape/design does not match her body. You are not factoring in all the aspects that matter, nor are you respecting her existing experience or knowledge by trying to teach her things she already knows or suggesting an illogical cup drop.
I have no intntion to disrespect anyone. This would be a cognitively sterile effort.
I might have been on this site for far less than anybody else, agreed. However I have decades of practice in engineering complex structures and their configuration mechanisms.
Which is why I might have a different experimental aproach.
You'lll be amazed to know the amount of pre-emptive truths that get successfully challanged in the aftermaths of mishaps.
I was suggesting, a non-destructive experiment since apparently things went wrong despite more or less matching numbers.
Approach similar to what allows safe air travel even if occasionally some cut corners by excessively re-using what used to work until it didn't.
Which is why I didn't see any disrespect and I'm genuinely sorry if unknown to me factors led you to perceive offense in my arguments.
Here I have nothing to sell or prove. Occasionally I state what and/how things work for me and attempt to maintain a positively spirited open discussion.
And once again, I'm genuiney sorry if I hit undocumented wires and short-circuits ensue.
I can equally understand that this is your, the older users playground.
My scope is not to disrupt, this is a pretty nice innocent site with persons I have respect for.
So if for some reasons I'm becoming a "persona non grata", then, done deal, I'll fade away.
Thanks for your time, looking forwards to read you ;)
@femineaaterna I am not suggesting you "fade away" at all, but I am asking you to take the time to consider the person's experience and knowledge, factor in all aspects of body differences, and to respect others opinions and limitations before commenting.
It is not a matter of how long someone has been on the site, it's a matter of taking their point in their bra journey (how long they have been on their quest for proper bra fitting) when making suggestions, as well as factoring in their unique body shape/limitations as well as the brand in question. (A G in one brand is not the same as a G in another-that's why the site uses index numbers. )
@alisa has a lot of experience, and her adding a bra fail is not her asking for help, it is her adding the data, experience, and her insight on the bra model and design in comparison to her size and shape for others who come to the site in search of such data. She is in a unique size range, like myself, which has very little data available so every bra entered straightens the database, and in turn is valued and treasured.
Regardless, 2-4 cups smaller would not fit her, nor would it resolve the issues she experienced, but it would cause more issues for sure. And while such a suggestion wouldn't stop alisa from adding more bras, making such a suggestion to some would be very offensive and cause them to be hurt/insulted and not want to add more data to the site. Some reading your suggestion could be deterred from adding their own bra data, especially bra photos, out of fear of such comments made on their reviews. I have seen it before, and it hurts the site. Bras and the intimate nature of bra fitting is very complex and a super sensitive area, please remember that.
I had size charts and a pen. Estimated the excursion of the underwire. Scribbled numbers here and there. Attempted to move the discussion in a constructive analytical direction.
Occam's razor says that amongst all hypothesis, the simplest one is the best.
Which is that this is not a discussion on a mission critical life supporting component and no one will be hurt if I rest my case due to unforseen colateral escalations.
So this is what I'll do, sorry for the incurred inconvenience.
alisa Sorry for derailing your review! I appreciate your added data and value your experiences. It greatly helps build this site for both current and future members. Thank you for your contributions!!
Sorry for the unproductive chatter alisa . Anyone can have a bad day. And with the weather outside, today's gonna be my turn. So I'm outta here.
Everything okay. I already answered what I tought about trying G/ H cups here and thought the topic is done. https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dnbg9/#review-comment-23244 There would only be one case where I consider a H-cup... if a band runs 1 size small like on CK Victory, then I size up to a 34 band. Since the cups run big I would maybe size down to 34H a sistersize of 32HH. G cups… those times are long gone.
alisa Thanks for the writeup! I love wide sides and this looks like something that I really want to try! And the stretch in the cups gives me hope that it will help me with my one larger than the other issue.
alisa I experienced the same gapping on the top edge- it’s just a flaw/feature of the design- I think it’s designed for someone with a very V shaped back.
It’s funny the cup height is so tall on you. In my size the cup height was good, pretty short for a full cup bra, in fact, but I had the same issue with not enough center room so I had to size up. I loved the lace they used and found the back to be really quality and firm.
cupandahalf I also was shocked that the bra is so tall on me. My back is not a V-shape, the bra would therefore not work in a smaller size because it is not roomy enough in the center to size down. Did you exchange the wires on your bra? I found them to be more flexible than newer Elomi wires.
Wow! Easy to see
* how tall the cup is on you and * the wire going around to your back.
It makes me wonder about the cup width and depth measurements. Why is the depth ratio 2.4 for cups that wind around to your back? Strange. Doesn’t add up.
And with cupandahalf ’s comments... maybe you just got a “lemon” or maybe 32J is a hole in their Tia size range where the design turns into a fluke with weird cup height, width etc., a shape mismatch for **anybody**.
Check out my review for the 32J - Elomi » Morgan Banded Bra (4110) that I tried in the same size because both bras fit basically the same. They share the same cut and construction. If I knew these bras were similar, I wouldn't have ordered both. Gladly they came with free shipping and return so there is more data to add here on Bratabase. Yay! The Mariella is a very pretty bra. I love the blue color print and I really wished it worked for me.
I feel like my ...conclusion after buying this bra is that I will generally fit a 40J in Elomi better, even though that size is generally too small in Panache and Curvy Kate. This is probably due to Elomi’s grading. After wearing the 40JJ over the 40J, there is really no difference in cut at the bottom of the cup for this bra. The bra is only bigger at the apex and top, and taller. Because I’m short rooted I can thus get away with a smaller size.
As far as this particular bra goes, fit is similar to Matilda or my 40JJ - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra. It’s wider and taller than 40JJ - Elomi » Kim Plunge Bra (4340) and the top fabric is not elasticized although there is a strip of loose elastic on the top. It does not dig in in either size.
The straps feature a racer back hook which is nice if you wear shirts like that. Band is firm, straps are Elomi’s usual comfortable stuff.
My favorite part of wearing this is the nice rounded shape I get in this bra.
I wanted this because of the beautiful fabric but it is a very scratchy mesh. Much itchier than Sachi’s fabric. I probably won’t wear it because of this so I’ll send it back.
I had to wear this bra for a while and do my usual wire swap before I decided how I feel about the fit. I'm happy to say that it is gorgeous and is going to work well for me.
So I got this bra in 40JJ and thought it would fit exactly like my 40JJ - Elomi » Jodi Plunge Bra (4190) as it is based on the same pattern. While the fit is quite similar, my Jodi had a stretchier band and cups deeper at the wire. I think this really shows that all bra brands have differences in individual bras (I had ...two slightly differently fitting Sachis as well). This style by Elomi is the second best style/shape I own by them, after the 40J - Elomi » Tia Bandless Bra (4280) . My first in this cut, the 38JJ - Elomi » Lottie Plunge Bra (4180) is a workhorse I wore nearly exclusively for over a year- it is now limp and worn out, sadly. This bra will replace it.
The print is absolutely to die for. I mean seriously it's so beautiful. The flowers are white and linear on a more bluish toned red background. I wish the lace matched the color- it's more of a warm toned red. However, it's a slight difference, and I like the kitschy pattern of it- very folk, which is the whole vibe of the bra.
The fabrics are all soft and silky, as are the elastics. The straps have matching fabric sewn on the top front. All in all, really a comfortable, all day wearing bra, wrapped in the most beautiful package. Read more 182 more words
Do you swap in narrower wires? I'm asking because I just sent back an Elomi. It would have been a nice fit if the wires weren't so wide.
Yes I always do. I usually do old Panache bra wires because they are usually tall vertical wires and are super sturdy, but there are a number of retailers out there that sell softer wires in a variety of shapes and sizes.
ooh, maybe i should save the wires from my floris? they were a tiny bit wide, tho
Sorry if I'm getting way off topic here, but when you swap in the narrow wires, do you have to modify or gather the wire channel to make it fit? I'm picturing the fabric puckering because of the narrow wire.
Brash5 if the wire is the same length as the other wire I don't really have to do anything. Usually I choose wires that are shorter than the bra and I leave empty space under the armpit, where the wires tend to bother me more, and that works well for me. I also will tack the wires in place so they don't slide back.
As far as there being more room in the cup, because of my breasts they will fill any part of the bra available, so narrowing the wires just brings my boobs more to the front rather than squishing them under my armpits. I don't generally have empty space by narrowing the wires.
I'm not sure if I answered your question, so let me know if I didn't.
You answered beautifully, thank you! :) I have some extra wires and will give it a try with my next Elomi.
If you've ever gone to buy a tankini top and despaired at the lack of support for your ladies, then this is the bra for you. Able to be worn under any tankini or full piece that doesn't have built in support, the Elomi Swim Bra ensures you're supported while you swim.
I tell everyone about this because it has changed my life. I struggled for years with getting adequate support in my bathing suits. I did everything from pin up the top of my suit with safety pins to wearing a wireless, pullover bra from Walmart under my suits. And I still felt unsupported, uncomfortable and self-conscious. One ...time, I was even called out at a water park for wearing an "undergarment" under my suit. They told me I couldn't wear anything that wasn't made of swim material. Too embarrassed to go without, I changed into my streets and spent the rest of the day at the picnic tables.
All this to say that this bra is worth every penny.
I even wore this bra during an entire day of work to test its comfort level. I wanted to be sure that if I spent a day in my bathing suit, I wouldn't be tempted to rip off my swim bra at the first opportunity. And I'm happy to say that it worked well as a regular, every day bra. I was supported and comfortable the entire day.
I would be cautious about ordering this without trying it on as the cups run small. I am a 36 GG but needed an HH cup for adequate coverage. Read more 156 more words
I am a recent bratabase convert and have a lot to learn about bra-fit principles and best practices. So take what I say with a grain of salt. I bought this bra in two sizes, 42GG and 40GG. I first bought the 42GG and thought it was too big (but kept it anyways). So I sized down to a 40GG. This review is for both sizes.
The Matilda is a 4-part (counting the side panel) underwire plunge bra. The side panel and the lower cups are non-stretch fabric and the top cups are non-stretch sheer panel with “stunning beaded lace embroidery”. There is also an “opulent silver ...ring detailing”. Both the “stunning” and “opulent” elements are a tad cheesy so you should not get too excited about them. The non-stretch sheer panels might seem a little flimsy (it is a single layer bra) but it works well for me, but I am not full-on-top and I do not need as much support where the fabric seems flimsy. (Flimsy is not the best word to use, but I am leaving it). This will be a good bra to wear in the summer time. I do think that the non-stretch element is what saves the day.
Both of my Elomi Matilda bras are my favorite bras. Both the 40GG and the 42GG seem to fit, both are comfortable, and both give me the support, lift and shape that I want. This speaks well for the flexibility of the design of this bra because I have two different sizes that are not sister sizes and I am satisfied with both. Two thumbs up.
Hey, welcome! Great review and great that both sizes work for you! I find that in a few soft cup bras too - must be their flexibility in the cup itself due to it being soft. A little snug on the straps and they both fit fine. Glad you are enjoy Elomi...and thanks for the measurements...I am a bra band sister and we can use all the 40/42 band measurements we can get!
Thanks for the nice comment. I will be sure to check out your reviews!
"All the 40/42 band measurments we can get!"
That is exactly correct! I always check for 40FF and 38G measurements, and there are so few!!
Lack of measurements in this size range must be why Bratabase doesn't give me much recommendations.
My recommendations are all messed up because I messed up my measurements on the first day I joined. :(
HAPPY DANCE!!! Thank you overthestars for the recommendation.
PROs - * It actually fits and is quite comfortable * My breasts are supported by the band and wires rather than being held up by the straps. * My two friends feel completely supported and stay put without either feeling constrained or bouncing around. * The cup shape and placement mimics my natural shape and looks great under a shirt. * It's not only functional. I think it's sexy. * The price was quite reasonable for such a well fitting foundation garment. ($58.00 via Amazon Prime)
CONs - * Limited selection in a 38G. I wish it were available in more color options. * (UPDATED) The little decorative loops at the base of the gore were scratchy. I carefully cut them off. Problem solved.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the look at fit of this bra. I may order a second one in black.
Pomegranate colorway
This bra's measurements have been altered
Decorative loops at the base of the gore were scratchy. I very carefully snipped them off. Problem solved.
Yay! I'm glad you like it, Etta's one of my favorite bras as well :D
I did find after a while that the cute little decorative loops at the bottom of the gore can get very scratchy, so I cut them off. And yes, definitely needs more color options!
Support and no bouncing: fantastic! You look like you are smiling in these photos: happy breasts :-) :-) Looks beautiful on you!
Okay, this is funny. I thought the little loops were scratchy too. I was sitting down with my delicate little fine pointed swan scissors to cut them off when I read your reply. I agree, they were itchy.
Hooray! My first bra that fits! Pros: The plunge is comfortable on my close set breasts because the gore sits low, but the lace comes high enough to enclose my entire breast. There is a lot of immediate projection, which is good for projected breasts. My breasts stop right before my arm pits, and the wire encloses the roots just fine. I have problems wire straps digging in to my arm pits, but this bra's straps fit me well. Plus it's super cute!
Cons: The band seems stretchy. I hear this is common in larger bands. The side seam gives the appearance of a bulge on the side, but I think it's sort of an optical illusion. The fabric is laid differently on the side panel so the light hits the fabric differently.
Gives good shape and lift! Very comfortable to wear and it fits me perfectly! I’m generally not a fan of unlined bras because they don’t provide adequate shape for me personally, but this one does a fantastic job of that!
The gore sits flush with my breastbone and the underwire is wide, but it’s great if you have wide roots. This is my current daily go-to bra. Comes in a wide variety of colors which is a nice change of pace, and the embroidery on the upper part of the cups isn’t over the top, yet it still looks nice.
I’d recommend it if you’re full on bottom and ...with high, wide roots.
Cons: it claims that the embroidery and seams sit flat so that you can’t see the texture under a t-shirt or fitted blouse, but that hasn’t been my experience. As someone who used to exclusively wear molded-cup t-shirt bras, the texture is noticeable, but it’s not awful, and when worn with a top that has thicker material, like a sweater, you can’t see it at all.
Overall I’d still highly recommend it! Read more 77 more words
The Lydia is a comfortable bra. It's smooth and silky to the touch, the band is comfortably stretchy with some firmness and the wires feel neither too soft nor too firm. After having worn it for a couple of days, the band did stretch out quite a bit and I should've exchanged it for the sibling size down, but it will still work well as an at home/office/comfort bra. The wires are too wide and the cups too shallow but i knew they would be but it doesn't cause discomfort and I'm mostly okay with that. The gore tacks, but it's a soft tack and I sometimes get ...a little bit of floating but I'm okay with that as well in this case. It was a moderately cheap bra and as such I don't expect excellent fit. Paying double for an Ewa that also doesn't fit but in other ways was not appealing at this time. As with the Elomi Matilda, the Lydia runs big in my cup size, my standardised is 38K and this is a 38J.
Edit: With the J hook closed it fits better and the band sits in place. I should also add that out of all the bras I've ever had, this one causes the least pain from prolonged wear. Even in the most well-fitting bra I get pain after a few hours, especially from sitting down, but the Lydia has been relatively painfree so far. Read more 132 more words
So, I found out today that the solid colors of this bra fit differently than the patterned ones. The solids run larger/baggier than the patterns. You can see a significant difference in the pictures for this one. Also, the measurements are significantly different as well, mainly the band and the cup height (it’s taller than the patterned ones).
Overall, the fit is just fine. It’s a little roomy in the cups, but it passes the bounce test, so I’m keeping it. I do find that the patterned version is a more tailored fit to my shape, though. I don’t do a lot of intense working out, mostly spin and yoga, but this bra is great for those uses, too.
This bra did just not work for me. It was the worst one out of all Elomi plunges that I have tried. So construction - wise I don't see much difference to their other plunges with stretch lace top. The cup material is very high quality, soft woven fabric and the stretchy lace isn't flimsy. The band feels firm and true to size. However when I wore this bra just for trial it was very uncomfortable. The underwire would dig in painfully into my ribs. This was the worst I experienced with Elomi plunges and I try to figure out why it happened with this bra but not like other ...Plunges like Matilda / Charley.
One reason could be that the wire is just the wrong shape for me. Elomi wires are very wide, and I thought I can get away with that. But I think with this contruction there are also other forces working against me. The top section is soft enough to shape my boobs nicely but it could be that the bra gets pushed down because 1. the wire is too wide and wrong shape 2. the cup is not projected enough so wire gets pushed down bc my boobs cannot fill the bottom? I don't know...
Anyway it's not a bad bra by any means. But you need to have to right shape for it, I say it's best wide root + slightly shallow FOB boobs. Don't try if your FOT, despite the stretchy lace. I kinda have a feeling the bra also failed because I am FOT. Read more 151 more words
This is such a pretty bra. I don't think it's practical for me with the cross straps since they peek out of my v necks but it's so pretty and I would wear this design as a bathing suit top. Regarding fit, the usual issues of bottom wrinkles, top of cup gaping and wire in the arm pit.
This one may be a keeper for me! I’m actually surprised at how well this one fits me compared to my experience with Elomi Morgan in the past.
The wires! They actually almost stay completely in my IMF. They barely slip down a finger-width after stretching, jumping, and galavanting around the house (it’s like a side-of-your-finger’s-worth, not the width of your finger flat).
The material is soooo comfortable, and I love the color! It seems projected enough, but I’m not quite sure. The band is also comfortable, but I don’t know if it’s too loose on me? I have a fit check posted if you’d like to help ...me out with those two issues: http://bra.pe/Tbn/
My only gripes were that the elastic caused me quad-boob. If I decide to keep this, I’m planning on removing the elastic like I did my Elomi Kim because it definitely helped the fit. I’m also disappointed that the gore doesn’t quite tack, but I think the gore is too high and/or too wide to completely tack on me.
Otherwise, I honestly love this bra and I really might keep it. I’m on the fence because of the issues that I have listed in my fit check.
Looks good on you, and such a fun print!
Super helpful for folks in your range seeing a bunch of sports bras reviews <3
Especially as sports bras are often underrepresented on here!
