Everything about it is just my absolute favorite- the fit, the lift, the PATTERNS, just everything is amazing on this bra!
Lucie is the same cut as the Kim, which is also a favorite of mine. It’s situated in a way that makes the breasts uplifted, perky, separated, and the right level of roundness. I marked it as a perfect fit, although the cups could use a little more immediate projection- it wrinkles, but every bra doesn’t have enough immediate projection for me, so I chalk it up as not being all that important.
I love the stretch lace on the Lucie. It’s the one thing that just gives it that...*chef’s kiss* Kim has elastic on the top of the cups, which I have found fits better when removed. With Lucie, I don’t even have to bother with that. It’s great!
Ok I take that back - this reminds me a bit of the Panache I loved back when I was a J cup
dbmamaz I would definitely recommend Lucie if you’re wanting to try out an Elomi. The wires are narrower than a lot of their other bras.
Congrats on finding a good fit in Elomi! The Lucie is one of my favorites too. The stretchy lace is everything. finally they got rid of that annoying stretchy band at the edge.
Hm. I’m not a fan of the fit in the larger size. The problem is, with the 34HH I get quad boob because of the elastic. It stays pretty close to my IMF.
With the 34J, my boobs still move up into the apex and have baggy room at the bottom. I think the wires are too wide and the cups are too big. I’m not a fan of the color either, I think beige shows way more flaws in the fit than darker colors. Probably sending this back.
My advice is to use a seam ripper with the smaller size and very delicately take the elastic off to top of the cups. Helps the fit for me a lot!
cupandahalf That’s actually great advice, I’ll have to give it a try! I noticed on your review for Kim that you said you liked Tia. I also wear Tia and I’ve noticed the stretch lace without the elastic band fits so much better. Seems less closed off.
Worked like a charm! Thanks again for the suggestion. :)
After trying 15+ bras trying to find my “perfect fit,” Matilda became my best friend! It’s so fitting that the color way I purchased is called “Unicorn” because this is definitely my “unicorn” bra. I’m hoping to get one or two more colors.
Elomi Charley is based on the popular Matilda cut. There are two different plunge styles in the Charley range. The one with a stretchy lace top which comes in a solid color, and this one here which doesn't have a stretchy lace top and usually comes in a solid color with colorful floral embroiderie on top of the cup. The red color is gorgeous and I love the floral embroiderie.
My shape: tall, narrow to average wide roots, full on top, projected, center heavy
At first I had problems with the unusal lower gore - since I used to wear Balconettes or Full cups all the time, but I get ...used to it. It's actually nice not have a gore that almost comes too high. Some high gore also feel uncomfortable since my breast tissue almost touches. Usually if a bra has a too low gore, it cannot contain my center heavy boobs. That's why I used to stay away from Plunge bras in the past. But this bra - it's magic - can somehow do it.
The bra is very supportive and the cups contain my breast tissue at the center. Key to get a good fit is that the bra cannot be slightly too small. If you have overspill in this style - the gore will poke the overspilling breast tissue. Since it has no stretchy lace it's not good for my PMS fluctuations, but fits nicely on normal days. (I would need the stretch lace option for that, which I haven't tried yet) Also I'm so impressed just how well constructed this bra is - when I put it on I already feel what it does before I even put up the straps. The construction is really made to support even heavier boobs in larger cup sizes!
The cups are a bit wide but I don't feel like it causes problems. There is enough projection at the bottom so I don't get wrinkles. I think the cup shape is quite good if you have even - to fob shape and it can work also on fot but need to choose maybe 1 cup size up or go for the stretch version. I don't use the racerback option, since it gives me neck pain, the bra wears well if you don't use it. Read more 274 more words
So many pretty Elomi's but I'm not in the size range!
That color is stunning! All these pink and red bras you’re reviewing is making me want to branch out and get a red bra.
It’s so beautiful. This fall they are making it in navy with amber embroidery and although I’m not a huge fall fan, it’s so crisp nights and leaves looking that I will have to get it.
Interesting. I know my boobs are bigger than yours, so i would need to go up a size, but it doesnt look deep enough for me? and to size up i'd have to go up in the band. Probably a no - but looks good on you!
I think those Elomi wires kind of squash tissue to the side to create a more compact look whereas you’re used to that out front look that Ewa gives dbmamaz.
Yes, but even my panache tango seem deeper than that - which is why its the only non-ewa i own more than 1 of atm
dbmamaz The bra has good projection at the wire, it's in no way shallow, it's rather deep - but completely different from Ewa. It's wider and keeps your boobs closed to the chest while Ewa projects them forward.
Honestly prefer more the Elomi fit - even though Ewa / Polish fit would be more appropriate for my boob shape but it does not give me enough support. Elomi does.
cupandahalf I love the new navy colorway <3 Whole fall collection is quite nice as always Elomi does so well. I also loved the spring color of tahiti blue and hope to be able to find it anywhere.
dbmamaz i think what you are seeing is mostly a difference in the general cup shape. Your Tango has lots of forward projection whereas the Elomi is cut to have a more gradual slope. The Elomi has more depth but it’s aligned more vertically as it’s a plunge- basically the depth is more spread out across the chest versus pushed straight forward like in your Tango. It has less room at the top (more closed) as well to get that plunging shape without letting you fall out.
It’s just a different style, and some folks need that compression and close to the chest shape to be comfortable. It makes sense you like the Tango as it’s a very projected outward style just like your Ewas even though it’s not narrow like them.
I'm slightly confused how 'depth' can be spread out. i understand volume being spread out, but not depth.
The depth of the bra can be vertical as well as horizontal. Yes that means volume being in a different shape but we talk about cup depth...
But basically what I’m saying is your Tango is more like this < and the Elomi is more like this ( but in three dimensions. Similar cup volume but more spread out.
I wore this bra today. It's very close to chest fit. The cups are quite shallow. The cup edge does not cut in but I spill over a bit in height... its comfy and supportive but maybe 1/2 cup too small...
I really love the red color of this bra. It's so vibrant and matches well with my skin tone. At first I thought that the embroideries are too much and the bra would be prettier just being plain red, but when I tried it on I really liked the look of it.
The cut of the bra is similar to other Elomi Plunge bras I tried, I think the most similar was the 32J - Elomi » Matilda Plunge Bra (8900) I also had the same issues with this bra. The cups were too wide at the sides and a bit too tall but there wasn't ...not enough center room for my boobs. I could fit my boobs into the cups when I arranged them into more of a tall wide shape, but I know from wearing my 32J - Elomi » Tori Plunge Bra (4370) which has the same cut, that my boobs just try to go back to the center during the day. I also find that the low gore of Elomi plunge bras usually pokes me. I think that 32J right size for me in this style and I could make it work somehow like my Elomi Tori, but there are definitely better bras out there for my shape and I cannot justify buying this bra at full price just because it is pretty. Finally I'm reviewing this one. I've had it for about 2 months now but only in the last few weeks I was wearing it more often. So I can say more about how it wears now. First about the bra: The Elomi Sports bra features underwires and non padded cups. The material is very high quality, sturdy and at the same time it is very soft to the touch. I really have no complains about it and I'm usually sensitive to itchy fabric. The wires are rather wide (like Elomi brand is known for) and quite tall. The wires don't bother me under my arms. The shoulder straps are ...wide and comfortable. I have no issues. Also the bra itself does so much support that I can almost wear it with straps off if I need relief on my shoulders.
The cups are wide, tall and of average depth (I wouldn't call them shallow, but they definitely keep the boobs close to chest as opposed to a projected cup shape). The wide wires don't bother me on this bra, I think the shape is even better to keep boobs close to chest. If It had more narrow wires there have to be deeper cups and more projection which would affect support and allow for more jiggling / movement of the boobs in the bra. I also do very well with the tall cups, no breast tissue is escaping. I actually think that the bra fits me in this size because it is tall and wide! If it weren't I'd need to size up for depth. I feel some light pressure on my sternum from the gore, but it is bearable. I also feel that my boobs are pushed close to my chest, but it it is nowhere near that constricting feeling I get in padded bras that do the same. For example 32J - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021) gave me pain and I had trouble breathing after wearing it for 30 min and this Elomi bra I can wear for a full day.
Wearing experience: The bra saved my neck! That's why I love it. Last week I suddenly got terrible neck pain, my boobs had lost some upper fullness and all my bras were ill-fitting. This already caused me pain. I had no smaller bras at hand to help me and I tried to wear my 32JJ with the band on tightest setting which helped some, then I remembered my neglected sports bra. Oh the relief!!! I wore the bra as an everyday bra and it helped me so much with the pain. I also wore it for full day of moving around boxes and stuff and house cleaning and it was amazing. Under clothing it looks good enough, it is not noticable that it is not an average bra. I will add clothed pics. I jumped around a bit and it feels okay, it really limits the movement of my boobs. Well, this one was a surprise. It was the single bra close to my size at Nordstrom Rack. It was $10. I've never had any luck with a molded bra before. And I've wanted the Bijou Flirt since it came out.
So I was shocked that it actually fit pretty darn well! It's not perfect, but it's the closest I've come in a while. The gore is wide, but it's low enough to not really matter. It's a good width. The band is closer to being TTS than the measurements indicate, due to having four hooks instead of three. The bottom of the cup is too shallow for me, but I don't actually see much cup collapsing and it stays close enough to my IMF that it's still comfortable. And I love the criss-cross straps. It does mean that it will be visible under low-cut shirts, but that's fine for me.
The first time I ever tried a bralette bra. It's also the first one that comes anywhere near my current size (32J). I had to sister - size to 34HH because there are no 32 bands.
The bra is made of light slightly warm toned pink lace. The upper part of the cups is made of a stretchy lace with an elastic band at the edge. The floral embroiderie on the upper cup part is repeated on the "bralette" part around the bra. There is a regular mesh bra band and then the lace over it. It looks like a long line bra. (I'm not sure what is ...the exact difference between longline or bralette bra? I thought bralettes are usually without wires while longlines just have a longer band. Will edit this once I know for sure.) The band is true to size in my opinion and closes with 5 row of hooks. I found this quite difficult to do up on my own. Since the band was a bit too big, I could do it up on the front and then move it around.
My issues: The band was too big, it did not feel supportive at all. I usually can wear the sister size 32J in Elomi so I'm not sure if these cups came up a bit small. On the other side it was probably just a problem of my very full on top boobs vs. an elastic band at the edge of some stretchy lace. That does never go well. Also all of the Elomi bras I tried so far are quite closed at the top, so even despite the stretch it does not work for me.
I found the wires to be a good width for me there was no wrinkling or empty fabric on the sides but not enough room at the top and center. I probably need the wires of a HH- cup in this bra and the cup depth and room at the top of a JJ-cup. And a 32 band which they don't make…anyway I think that the bralette part would ride up during the day, roll together and dig in at the underbust. It already did when I was taking the photos and I only wore the bra for 5 mins. I think that could be annoying. Apart from that it's a very pretty bra but I think it's mostly for looks and not everyday wear. Read more 297 more words
This, too, is simply stunning on you. I so hope they expand their band range! For those of us with shallow upper tissue, this may fit. Thanks for your review, photos, and data.
It's really, really, pretty. Oh how I do love this colour of pink soooooo much! I agree with you about longlines - I can't wear them either. They roll up and that is so annoying. Since I am only 5'3" tall, I have a short torso. Longlines come down almost to my waist. I don't know how that could be comfortable. However, if someone is taller, I suppose they could function like a mini corset if they have more than just lace i.e. structure below the band. Also confused about the "bralette" name. More and more companies are making them and sometimes I struggle to see what makes them a bralette. Kinga makes a couple that are wired AND padded/push-up. How is that a bralette?
Simply gorgeous. It's a shame about the fit and sizing. 😔
That is gorgeous, I'm sorry it didn't work. I thought bralettes were supposed to be wireless lacey things. I have given up trying to find one that works for big boobs.
Love4Pollinators Thanks:) I love to try bras and review especially when I can get then with free shipping and return. I'd never tried this if I had to pay shipping because I knew it wouldn't work. Many Elomi bras come now in 32 bands but just this does not.
AGBras I love the pink too! I'm so sad I have no pink bra in my bra rotation :/ I have to continue my quest.
It seems like this bra is a weird hybrid between a longline and a bralette. Now that you mentioned it, yes longline bras usually have some sort of boning to shape like the Cleo Piper Longline Balconnet Bra (9351) . I think this is what we think of as a bralette: https://www.bravissimo.com/products/zara-bralette-lilac-ln605llc/ The Elomi has no boning and the lace of the band is rather loose it does not shape at all. (I also doubt it would shape in a smaller band size)
I don't have a short torso but I have just the wrong shape for this kind of bra. My underbust is my smallest measurement and then my waist is 4 cm bigger and have this "upper belly roll" and that makes any of these bras fit weird and the band roll up, because they are made with the assumption that ones waist is smaller than the underbust.
Sovavosi This Bravissimo one https://www.bravissimo.com/products/zara-bralette-lilac-ln605llc/ looks promising, there are many positive Reviews but also many bad Reviews and that it is not good for big busts. I'd love to try it... but I doubt it would work for me… arghh but someone has to try it for science.
Some swear by Torrid bralettes but the bands on those are too big for me. Might work for you but the shipping might be too much.
They do a numbering system that is basically S-XL.
I don't trust a bra that comes from S-XL... my underbust could be a M but my boobs would need the space of the XL.
I don’t blame you. I like what AGBras told me earlier. It is meant for a larger size chest, not boobs. The cups might still be the wrong size even if the circumference is correct.
Sovavosi EXACTLY!! My favourite "bralette" solutions are: 1. My Andorra wire free 2. A super light Anita sportsbra (classed as medium support) in 1 size larger than I wear at the gym. So, it's my REAL size, because for the gym I take 1 size smaller for a little more compression/control.
I just thought that S might be 28-30 underbust, M be 32-34 and so on... and the cups fit no bigger than DD or F cup? I mean with that size range they want to sell the bras so they would fit what they think are "average" sizes? I don't think they have a 32J in mind.
I'm still interested in trying Bravissimo Zara bralette or CK Unwind since they come in 32J at least.
I think I will share this on the front page because Mariella is not one you hear about as much as other Elomis - only one review on Bratabase! - but it's a very nice bra and deserves more attention.
First the basics of its construction: The lower cups are made of a non-stretch silky fabric, while the top cups are of stretch lace with an upper band of elastic that might cut in for FOT ladies. The patterned fabric of the cup continues up the straps and across the bands, where it is lined with a soft elastic fabric to allow stretching. The wires are relatively flexible ...and on the outer side are about 1/2 inch shorter than the fabric of the wings, allowing for some cushion.
The Mariella is supposed to be based on the Elomi Morgan, and it has a lot of similarities. Someone I read, though, compared it to a cross between the Morgan and the Kim, and I'd say that's about spot on. The bottom cup is like Morgan's - deeper and rounder than Kim's - but with more projection than the Morgan. The result is a nice "green" shape - pointier than Morgan, rounder than Kim, and less extreme than Panache Jasmine.
To top it off, Mariella is both pretty and very comfortable.
I may try this in a 34J to compare, but I'm afraid I'll lose my tack. I'm technically a 36 band, but I noticed with other Elomis that the bands are pretty stretchy. I have to wear my 36HH Morgan on the tightest hooks and the band still rides up. I'm using an extender with this Mariella and it seems to be about right.
I think the fit and shape on this one look pretty good compared to what I've tried so far, but I'm still trying to figure this all out. Would a 34J be better? Do the wires look too wide or narrow? Right now I think I'm FOB/even and especially outer full; I think wide roots, but hard to tell. There is no doubt about being super projected and pendulous. Gravity pulls the whole structure down and out, but there is tissue on the top that is very happy to fill out when the bottom is supported. Does anything about how the Mariella fits give clues about my shape to the educated eye?
Are the cups projected enough for me? Heck no! Nothing is. There's a little folding over of the fabric at the wire. But it's not bad.
Is there some wrinkling at the side of the cups, especially on my smaller breast? Of course! But I can live with that.
Does it stay tight in my IMF? Don't be silly, why would it do that? Nothing does. *Every* bra I've tried eventually settles down about an inch or so, all landing in roughly the same place. Straps and band tighter or looser, it doesn't seem to make much difference. I guess that's just my anatomy?
Maybe someday I'll find the true unicorn, but until then, this Mariella seems pretty close. Read more 404 more words
This bra is so pretty! I think with this bra that the wires are soft and more easily stretched to the back than on other Elomi bras (Sachi, Matilda or Panache Jasmine) therefore the wrinkling on the sides. I don't know if it's a sign it's too big or just too wide wires. The more wires are stretched the more shallow a cup can get. Also I noticed that the bands are quite stretchy on this I also would liked a tighter band but that would stretch the wires more.
>This bra is so pretty
@alisa, I had been eyeing the Mariella for a while, but it was your review that made me decide to give it a try! I thought it looked so nice on you!
>The more wires are stretched the more shallow a cup can get.
I hadn't considered this, but it makes sense. I wonder if I wore the extender looser if that would help with filling the bottom of the cups. I'll have to experiment a bit. I have to wear the band of my 36HH Morgan on its tightest hooks, and it still rides up, so I felt I would need to go down to a 34 for better stability.
>I don't know if it's a sign it's too big or just too wide wires.
I'm not sure either. I do have odd-shaped breast tissue that kind of trails off under my arms, though, and I think it doesn't fit the U-shaped wires. In your experience does wrinkling in the sides of cups affect support? Or is it more cosmetic?
I'm pretty sure we're boob twins, so far the best fit I've gotten was in the Panache Clara after I bent the wires. Still didn't have as much projection as I need but it was the best fit I'd had to date. I heard Meredith is similar to Morgan and Mariella so hopefully it works out.
I had bought a Panache Envy, but it was jabbing me badly in the armpits, so I tried out this Elomi Morgan instead. Sooo much more comfortable. First, the wire is shorter, so even when swooped and scooped it doesn't poke up into the tender zone. I measured the wire length at 13.8 inches, while the Envy is 15.5 inches, so, there's your problem! The cup width is 7.3, same as the Envy, so still wide enough to cover my root. Also, the (somewhat stretchy) band and the bottom of the cup on the Morgan is made of a very smooth non-stretch fabric, with stretch lace along the ...top. For those full-on-top ladies, be aware that there is an elastic band running on the top edge of the lace. There is a soft, felt-like material lining the inside of the band, wire, and straps, which feels nice. The strap is pretty average in width, but wider than the Envy's, which I also find more comfortable. I am very projected, and the Morgan seems to handle that with aplomb with a 14 inch deep cup.
As far as looks go, it does have the pretty stretch lace on the top of the cups that dresses it up, but overall I think this one is more serviceable than sexy. Fine by me! This colorway is just called "white," but the solid fabric on the cups is speckled with light blue.
The one thing I'm not crazy about is the side support. I feel like my heavy breasts tend to sag towards the outer bottom of the cup, and it pulls on the side of the band, causing some wrinkling. I'm pretty sure this is the right size, so there may be a shape issue. I notice if I pull the straps inward (as if they had a racerback) this improves the side lift a bit. I'm quite new to the bra-that-fits world, so I'm not sure of the cause or the fix beyond that. Still, I'm very happy overall!
Update: I tried the strap on the tightest hook, and it helped smooth out the edges of the cups by the wings and improved the shape a wee bit. I still feel it's a little slacker on the side support than I'd hoped for. Now, though, I'm wondering if I could have managed a 34 band!
Update 2: As I wore this bra more, the more I could see problems with the fit. The cups are just a little too small and the gore tacks only with effort and doesn't stay. I have since tried a 34JJ, and the fit is better. Read more 329 more words
This bra has the softer Elomi wires so it stretches back more. I loved the Gothic arch at the bottom which gives me lots of comfort at my high stomach but the diamond mesh is a bit scratchy- it’s lined with beige non stretch lingerie mesh. The lace on top is soft. It’s very pretty. I would buy it again in it’s pink color way and put in firmer wires I think.
The Elomi Morgan is a 4 piece cup construction with a side support panel and the upper cup is made out of stretchy lace. The bra has a full band and a regular height gore. I really like the fabric used on the bottom cup, it's very nice and soft. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable and a nice width. The band is stretchy but still supportive. The wires are softer more flexible than on the 32J - Elomi » Matilda Plunge Bra (8900) or the 32J - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra (4350). Basically the wires are like Elomi wires used to be ...in the past on most of their bras.
The issues:
The wires felt not very sturdy, they distort easily when there is tension from the band. I found that the wires were quite weak and more flexible than the wires on Sachi or Matilda. I also felt that the side of the cup was lacking support. I found the wires to be much too wide for me and not tall enough. The other problem was the stretchy ribbon that is at the edge of the upper lace panel... it just cuts in. If your boobs are just a little soft, it will cut in. I also think it would if I tried a bigger size. It's not a bra for full on top boobs. Also the bra felt overall much less supportive than Sachi or Matilda. Read more 134 more words
I got the chance to try a few Elomi bras with free shipping and return from a local online shop and this was available in my size. The Matilda is a Plunge bra and features a 4 part cup construction with a side support panel and a sheer mesh top section with some cute dotty details. The wires on this bra are really firm and sturdy, comparable to Bravissimo and Panache wires. This is a feature I love, because the usual soft Elomi wires don't offer enough support, distort easily and end up on my back.
How the bra fits me:
The wires are a bit wide but not extremly ...too wide. I think if everything else would fit, it would be workable. The wires keep their shape and don't distort much. I feel very well supported by these wires alone. I get slight wrinkling at the sides and very very slight at the top of the cup where the upper cup meets the straps. It's very minor and barely visible, but it shows that the bra is a bit too wide and just slightly too tall for me.
Sizing down is no option, actually I should rather size up, because there isn't much center room and the cup edge cuts into my breast tissue slightly. So very light quadboob but extra room at the sides? That is a shape-mismatch. Elomi Plunges are better for full on bottom and slightly wide boobs. I also felt uncomfortable with the gore, it pushed too hard against my sternum. I'm not used to wear such a low gore. The band is a bit more stretchy than on my 32J - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra (4350) bra, and I could close it on the second set of hooks already and it did not feel very tight.
I really love the design of this bra. It's subtle but still cute and a bit girly with the dots. An understatement. And I love the teal color so much!!! Ahh it's so pretty! I almost wanted to keep it, but it's quite pricey and I feared that the issues would cause loss of support over a full day of wear and that the quadboob might show under a thin summer t-shirt.
Also it gave me a slightly wide shape from the front (not super east-west like a Tango) but a bit more than I prefer. The J-hook for racerback would have helped with the issue a bit but the straps were barely long enough for me to comfortable hook the J-hook. Also it did not look flattering on my fluffy back fat. So it's a pass. I don't know if a 32JJ would solve all the issues and I think the bra is not the right cut for my boobs. Read more 357 more words
Sorry it didn't work out, this is a nice looking bra. From the thumbnails it looked like it worked :(
Sovavosi Yeah I know. That is my bigger boob. Also when I tried this bra on, my boobs were blown up by PMS. The bra is a mix of being obviously too small in cups but also kinda too big (on the side) here is the side wrinkling visible http://bra.pe/InJs/ (smaller boob). If there was more room at the center / top part of the cup I could get away with this size. I think in the 32JJ the wires will be even wider and it would not fit properly either.
alisa please a technical question. I see this bra has a (racerback ?) hook on the straps.
Is it really possible to reach that high and manipulate it or would it require a helping hand ?
Thanks, best regards,
femineaaeterna I can do it on my own, but it needs some practice.
I've lost weight, so in true form, up went my breast size! I bought this bra today after realizing I could no longer hide that I was quadding out of all of my 36Gs and the return of consistent upper back pain. My chiro would adjust me and instead of it taking weeks, I would be back out in days.
I tried on 12 bras in store, partly because the sales associate wasn't listening to me. I dug through the drawers and found this gem. I was hesitant to try it on because of the size (how could I be a J?!) but I am so glad I ...did. This bra is magical. I put it on and it was like a sigh of relief. I'm supported, the cups are full, the lace doesn't dig in, it isn't a full cup, and it has a cute little strap you can add for a sexier look. I also own the Sachi (in a 36HH) and I find this works better for me simply because the cup straps of the Sachi can dig into my soft tissue after several hours.
I will update this review once I have worn it for a day. Read more 92 more words
If I had tried it on with a shirt over it, moved in it like I typically do, and adjusted the straps to where I would be wearing it. I would have noticed how it was digging into the underarm area of my smaller breast. If it was my appropriate size, I would for sure be comfortable. As is any article of clothing. If it fits, it's comfortable. I unfortunately cannot take it back to the boutique I purchased it at as I've worn it, removed the tags, and washed it. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />
This is my first multi part cup bra. I was desperate for a bra that fits. The closest I had was Elomi Bijoux, and others recommended the Cate. Cate gets a lot of great reviews. For me, even with the pretty lace, it feels a little, well, industrial. The band is power mesh, so it doesn't stretch a lot. On the plus side, this makes a very supportive bra. On the minus side, if you have sensitive skin, you may not feel as comfortable in this one. I am close set, pendulous, and have wide roots. This bra fits me very well and keeps me well projected, which ...was quite a surprise to me at first. The shape it gives me is like that of a 1950's bullet bra. Under clothes, my shape looks fine, so no worries there. Others commented that the lace did not show through clothing. I have some tops that the lace absolutely shows or the horizontal seam shows, so I'm quick to change either the top or the bra, in that case. I will be wearing it more often during winter, when I don't need to think about such things. Overall, I like it, but would not buy another. Read more 96 more words
I have learned to stop caring about a seam or two showing, as I massively prefer non-padded bras and molded bra's rarely work for anyone. I just learned to accept the seams. Atleast what's showing through my shirts is a seam instead of a gaping cups and "rolls of fat" which are only made by wearing a badly fitting bra. But alot of the time I find the seams simply don't show and because I'm looking at it myself, it looks ways more noticeable to me and not to the rest of the world! I'm confident you will find more and better fitting bra's that you prefer to wear more often!
Check out Goddess Keira and Kayla. They are the same cut as Elomi's Cate/Caitlyn (and the companies share a corporate parent) but have been coming out with some really fun and bold patterns lately. Note that Goddess uses US bra sizing, so your UK 34F would be a US 34G. I know that doesn't take care of your biggest issues with the bra but I know how you feel about Cate's, uhm, aesthetic.
You can see my review of this bra previously in a smaller size: 40H - Elomi » Anushka Plunge Bra (4061). I have gained about a cup size since then and I think I was also in a cup size too small then, which contributed to the poor fit.
The fit is quite good actually, due to a firm band and a lot of depth with a quite low gore for this size. I had no riding down after about 45 mins of testing wear, though the wires were slightly pokey at the armpit. Less cutting in than other Elomi plunges in sister sizes. ...The fabric is less smelly than my first one too. Still, it's a plastic bra and doesn't feel great to the touch. The inner fabric is soft enough. It seems like the outside would be very durable...perhaps waterproof? However it's about to be released in a gorgeous teal and black combo that I WANT and I wanted to know if I could get close to a size that fits so I can snatch it up right away. I need a teal bra to match basically all my clothing and furniture. I'm obsessed with the color. If I could find it in the old Kingfisher colorway I would likewise snag it. I will haunt eBay for it just like I already do for old Ritas in sizes that might work. Sob. Read more 140 more words
I love, love, looove showing off this bra. I intentionally wear shirts where you can see my bra because this bra is gorgeous and makes my girls look scrumptious. This bra is very supportive and comfortable and the butterfly straps over the cleavage are a sexy touch that doesn't interfere with the fit of the bra. I really like how this bra pushes my breast tissue forward.
Bralterations! I have high, narrow rooted, pendulous, omega breasts splayed on bottom with connected breast tissue at top. My roots are about 4 inches tall and my larger breast is about 14 inches around so I basically have all the projection. I am full on top.
The original bra produces nice rounded breasts but is wide set and built for wide average height roots. Under the lace is a satin non-stretch panel that is supposed to pull the breast forward. On my soft breasts it creates a line dividing my breasts which is sometimes noticeable. The lace can be scratchy under the armpit.
How I altered it: On me ...the top of the cup has always had a lot of empty space, the straps were a little wide set, and the cups were very wide while the elastic top cut in. The gore was tall and my centerfull breasts pushed it out. My Sculptresse Pure Lace Moulded Lace T-shirt Bra (6931) was too small but I loved the wires. I decided would put those stiffer, narrower wires in this bra because I really needed a fitting seamless beige bra to go under my low cup white shirts (and if I can find even narrower wires for cheaper I will put them in for better forward projection).
First I cut off all the scratchy lace (in the future I won't because the alteration takes the bra out of my armpit and the lace hides the side sling seam). I cut about an inch or two off the cups (I drew freehand along the top of my bigger side with a pencil and cut, rounding it out, then held it up to the other cup and used it as a pattern to cut along), removing just the spacer fabric (which really has amazing construction, little threads holding each side of the fabric apart inside) and cutting down including the wire channels and gore. Because the Pure has shorter wires as well, I was able to make this bra a true plunge. I then hand sewed the satiny side sling along the top of the cup on each side to move the straps in a bit. This created a bit of a strange curve along the side sling, but it's not noticeable under clothes.
I hand sewed the wire channels shut at the gore. Then I pinned and machine sewed elastic fold over tape along the top which I had cut. I put it from strap to strap because some of the original finishing is scratchy. I've also considered sewing it along the underarm section, maybe when I have more time.
Finally, and I probably should have done this first, but I didn't because I didn't realize how wide the gore was, I sewed the gore together and sewed leopard print bows I cut off my Sculptresse bras onto the gore. While I don't love bows on most bras I just felt like this one needed some spicing up.
You can see my pictures for how great it looks on, and reduces all the cup gap on my larger side for my short rooted breasts. I don't have too much cleavage, but it doesn't show under any of my thin, white, low cut shirts and dresses, and I don't feel like I'm falling out in the middle though the gore is quite low. I'm going to have to get more narrow wires and some Elomi Amelias online for cheap and do the same thing when I need a new beige seamless bra. It's not beautiful or whatever, but so practical, and everyone needs at least one practical bra. Summer shirts here I come!
Total cost and time: Cost of bra + $5 for 2 yards of tape (I only used 1 yard for the top however). 2 hours thinking, cutting, and sewing time. If you don't have a machine it might take longer to hand sew the fold over elastic along the top. I recommend lots and lots of pins as it is curved.
I have done the same alteration but with an even lower gore on my other Amelia with wires I bought from Sweet Cups, shout out to Ivp for telling me about them (those wires are not a perfect fit, a bit too wide, but they work) and I love them both. They are the best fitting, most comfortable, most attractively shaped bras I own. They have lots of projection and room for my breasts at the bottom, give rounded coverage, and don't stifle me at the top. I even get sexy cleavage in my lower one.
When I get another Amelia I will do a step by step with lots of pictures on my blog! Read more 699 more words
Beige colorway
This bra's measurements have been altered
Altered band,
Lowered cups and gore, straps moved in, new narrower wires.
This is SO helpful!!! The fold over elastic looks great. In fact, I prefer this bra with your alterations :-) :-)
Thanks! I've done this on 4 Amelias now and I'm about to buy #5. For me these bras, once modified, are the most supportive and generally longest lasting I've bought. They also are the most flexible vis a vis sizing because the cup materials stretch. Not great for uplift though but that's last on my list of important things for bras to do.

Great bra! Encloses the breast tissue well and gives a rounded shape. The low gore is great to ensure it fits and the only change I would make is 4 hooks as I do get a bit of band roll when wearing. Or perhaps boning in the sides. Great brand for wider bands and larger cups. I did lose a bit of weight to fit in this bra so I would consider the cup to run a little smaller as H typically fits in other brands. Could be the narrower cup width. I have short roots I think as I am not full on top. I do love the black lace overlay on the tan color...striking combo.
Ok I take that back - this reminds me a bit of the Panache I loved back when I was a J cup
