This is my first try of a moulded spacer bra by Elomi. I have always been curious about the range and since I was placing a bigger order I put this in my cart too. I don't regret it, as it is an amazing bra and I can review and recommend here.
So if you are looking for a t-shirt, moulded spacer bra and are within Elomi's size range, look no further. This bra is where it's at. It doesn't get better in quality and support. What I love: Materials feels luxurious, sturdy and high quality and the spacer foam is so soft. It's quite a thin foam so ...it will not add bulk but smooth out your shape. What is absolutely genious is that the spacer part is only at the front and on the wings of the cups it goes over to regular bra fabric. That way no unnecessary extra bulk is added to your boobs. For me at a large size this is a huge plus. I dislike padded bras for the bulk they add. This is much more comfortable to wear than any padded bra I tried before.
Sadly this bra comes only up to HH cups so far and only in sizes 34-40. So this is about 2 cup sizes too small for me. The bra felt supportive despite being the wrong size for me. The band feels firm and I might could go away with a 34 band but I need at least the cup volume of a J-JJ cup. The cups as usual with moulded bras are a bit on the more shallow side so I recommend sizing up in this style from your usual Elomi size. I usually wear 32JJ in Elomi, I would try this in 32K or 34JJ if available. Read more 191 more words
This bra is the new version of Elomi Caitlyn Underwire Side Support Bra (8030) . I had a few Caitlyns back in the day which weren't a really good fit but super comfortable. So I gave this new version a try. As far as I can tell the construction is similar. The straps are made of a different material. They look a bit like luggage straps. It's a true full cup bra that provides high coverage. The wires are on the softer more flexible side of Elomi wires and are quite wide. They also stretch around your body if there is enough tension on the band. ...
My shape: tall, narrow to average wide roots, full on top, projected, center heavy
The band feels tts for a 34 and for me it's a little too loose. The wires are too wide on me and don't feel as supportive. I also find the center gore a bit too tall and wide for my close set breasts. The shape I get is a typical natural shape, not much uplift and a little flattened on top. Overall the bra is good quality and provides average support with the most comfort and a natural shape. I think it's best suited for wide roots and a full on bottom shape. I returned it as it was not quite right for me and I prefer other bras. Read more 123 more words
This bra fits exactly like my 42H - Elomi » Amelia Spacer Moulded Bra (8740)s except the wires are slightly shorter and wider. The keyhole is really nice because it shows the issues I have with a too-wide gore- you can even see my breast root through the keyhole. The difference between the Amelia and the Charley besides the keyhole is that the decorative lace on the side and under the keyhole matches the rest of the Charley line.
Gorgeous color on you!!! Wish manufacturers would narrow their gores.
Me too! It would be so easy to make this one overlapping.
Very pretty! Too bad it did not work. On some of my bras the gore overlap, I'm not sure if my boobs cause this or if it's the bra construction, Bravissimo Camilla for example. So it could be done on purpose for close set boobs...
Finally ordered some new bras, and for the first time in about a year and a half I've got some that fit again!
Some important info: I had a baby in June 2018. Before pregnancy, I generally wore 36H/HH, and had very short, very narrow roots.
Now: a bit wider and slightly taller roots, a bit more full overall. Still need all of the depth at the wire I can get. ABTF calculator suggested 38HH. My shape before meant that it would tend to overestimate my size by a cup, now I think it's either spot-on or maybe a slight underestimate.
I tried some 38H Elomis and they were too ...small. Ordered some 38HHs and ta-da!
I like this bra. The color is slightly darker than my skin tone, but not enough to really be an issue. I like the pattern on the fabric and lace; it's just enough for some visible interest but not so much it's overwhelming. The gore is high for a plunge, but that's to be expected in this size range really. The band is very TTS, which means it's actually a tiny bit tighter than I'd prefer, but it's not uncomfortable at all, and I'm sure it will loosen up a bit as I wear it more.
The sides are a bit too high, but it's not uncomfortable, it's just a bit annoying. It's a wider bra than other recent Elomis I've tried, but that's fine. I don't need as narrow a wire as I used to anyway. I do have the same issue I did with the 38H Elomi Morgan I tried, where the side support sling causes some vertical in-cup quadding, but it's very slight and not visible under clothing. I think that might just be one of those things my breasts do now.
This bra is really comfy, though, and I'm really happy with it. It's nice to have ones that fit and feel good again. Read more 213 more words
This bra is extremely supportive and very full coverage. After wearing 36DDD for years, I've finally found something that I can completely even forget I'm wearing. I've never tried anything comfier, and the only complaint that I have is that I can see the design on the top of the cups through any tight shirts.
Using ABTF, I calculated my measurement to be 40H/40HH (UK) as a starting point. I’ve seen a few reviews saying this should may run a little small. It does contain all my breast tissue, but the wire eventually starts to irritate me as it is taller and wider than what is ideal for my shape and frame. Aside from that though, this is the first bra that lifts and supports my breasts and for that - I love it. I’ve learned more about bras and my shape in the last few weeks then I have in my whole life. My shape has major projection and I’m full on top, with minimal on bottom. I’m not entirely sure if the 40GG would have been a better fit, but I believe a smaller cup size (the 40 band is perfect for me) would not elevate the issues I have with the height and wire (wire leads under my arm past my root) Still learning but this was a good first try. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I think sports bras sometimes fit a bit different than regular bras, but that does look slightly big on you. Elomis also tend to run wide. Hopefully you can find some even better fitting bras in the future!
Thanks so much! I think I saw @Elomi has one that might not be as wide. I think it's the Morgan style - I'll definitely try to experiment with smaller cups sizes. I recently picked up the panache Sports Bra 40GG and it's a bit too small in the cup. So I'll definitely have to keep note of the different brands and their fit. Whereas the 40H may have been too big in Elomi, it may have been perfect in panache if that style had gone that size. Or it could be the shape of the bra.. This is definitely an art. Heh :)
congratulatons on finding a bra thats fit so well. It is a lovely bra and does looks to fit you quite well.
"definitely an art"--totally agree, 50shadesofviolet Thrilled you can love this one! Best of luck during your search!
When I first tried this bra (40H - Elomi » Anushka Plunge Bra (4061)) I complained bitterly about the stiffness and roughness of the fabric and vowed not to buy the bra again. That is until I saw the bra was being released in a beautiful teal color. When I tried a 42HH the fit was much better, probably because I was underestimating my size back in the day and also because I've grown since then. I decided I had to have the new color as it was just gorgeous.
This bra is one band size bigger than I usually wear and two cup ...sizes down because, for some reason, this bra is not made in a 40JJ like other Elomi plunges. Because of that it's a bit small in the cup. I would love to lose a bit of boob weight now the holidays are over but we will see if the bod will cooperate. I wear the bra on the last hooks right out of the gate.
The fabric is still rough on the outside and shows under knits. Really it was not the most practical purchase. But I needed this color on my body and my husband commented on how pretty it was on me too, so maybe it's ok? 😉 Guess I need the thong now too.😄 Read more 124 more words
yes, so beautiful!! I'm afraid I gained some boob weight already from the holidays lol took pics of 2 new bras and both are on the edge of too small on bigger side. but i already washed them. oops.
Ooooooooooohhhhhhhh what purdy color! I am really beginning to become upset at that fact that I am so small, there are so many "plus size" brands that I am in love with but none of which offer anything even near my size! Elomi and Glamorous are just two on the list...then the other side of the spectrum, I LOVE extremely small, low coverage bras and most of them don't sell in a band below 30, and almost every non padded Cleo i want is discontinued and starts at 28E anyway so therefore won't fit me. Skarlett blue and Boux avenue are like the only brands that has an aesthetic I like and carries my size! And it's really difficult to find the look that so many "plus size" brands have in smaller sizes! Sorry for the rant! You look gorgeous!
Your husband has great taste! Gorgeous on you!
Looks fabulous!
Thanks! LeProfessor I feel the same way about almost every Polish bra company, Mimi Holliday, and Lepel, so we are even lol.
Lol! That Mimi Holliday gets everyone at each end of the spectrum! I think I just bought the last 3 size 28D/DD Mimi's in the whole world that are not on eBay (if there are any there, lol). At an exorbitant price even together were "40%-60%" off... I bought a 32B Mimi and it cut into my roots and the band was huge, so I can't take in the band without it turning into like a 30B or 28C. I've learned my lesson, never buying anything over a 30 band again..... more and more each day I'm making the decision to start my own bra brand!
LeProfessor its amazing how brands change the shape even of sister sizes, isn't it? I hope you get the Mimi of your dreams!!!
The bra is comfortable and soft, but I really didn’t like the style on me. I’d recommend it for someone who wants comfort and full coverage but who doesn’t necessarily care about getting a stylish bra. I think it’s probably prettier in the purple color way.
I did not purchase this bra, but tried it on to help me narrow down my size. I tried on the 40H, 36HH, and started to try on the 36H, but it was so tight I had trouble getting it on (I put my bras on backwards and turn them then pull on the cups). It felt too tight to turn it, so ...I didn’t get to test the cup fit of the smaller size. This 36HH fit the closest, but it seems like either the cup is too big or the cut is wrong (probably both). I wanted to post a fit request, but didn’t have time to measure the bra and it looks like I can’t submit without measurements.
I put the bra back on fast to take a quick picture so I’m not sure if the band rolled the first time I put it on or if that was me rushing to get it back on for the picture.
I really wanted to try it on in the 38H, but the Nordstrom I went to was out of 38H in any style of bra in Elomi. I’m thinking either I needed to try on the 38H or maybe the 36H would've fit if I could actually get it on. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 155 more words
I appreciate how you scrambled to add data to Bratabase despite not buying the bra, vrwriter ! Hope someone here with more fit knowledge can help you!
I totally agree! Most would not try to get data for BtB in a fitting room! At any rate, it does not look to me like the cup is too big in this pictures. I see the wrinkling, but it doesn't look like it's in the normal spots a bra would wrinkle if the cups were too large, it appears to be more of a shape mis-match to me. Perhaps next time you can have someone help you buckle the bra in the back instead off putting it on backwards and spinning it around to the front? It would certainly allow you to be a better judge on the fit factor between the 36H & 36HH. I am sort-of sure that the 38H will have wider wires, and it does not look to me like you need wider wires than what is on this bra.
This style looks too tall and wide for you--so in effect yes it's too "big" cos there is a ton of wasted cup volume. It's too shallow; you need something with different proportions. that offers the same room for your tissue where it is (mostly on the front of your body) without all the unnecessary cup acreage above and to the side.
Thank you all! It did feel pretty comfortable, but I wasn't sure if I should consider it a size mismatch or a shape mismatch. I knew the shape was terrible, but I wasn't sure if the wrinkling was solely due to the shape, so I really appreciate your feedback on that! I generally prefer bras with front projection and do best with half-cup styles. My boobs are slightly full on bottom and I'm finding that cups with a 7" width tend to work well. I did like the Elomi Amelia though. I got it a year ago and that had a wide cup but somehow worked well and was pretty comfortable until it got out of shape and my boobs started changing again. It wasn't my favorite shape, but the initial comfort and support was great.
I had a couple narrow, Cleo bras that did give excellent projection and fit almost exactly, but they were slightly too narrow for everyday, all-day comfort.
I will admit that I like a nice, rounded shape and have put up with some imperfect bras that gave me a great rounded look...my old Freya bras were great for that.
Yup, this is a typical problem for Cate and its clones. The stretchy band pulls the wires back at the side resulting in all that gapping at the bottom side of the wire. You can see it on all their models too. Very few people have boob there so I'm not sure why they make it like that but it's a common fit problem for Elomi.
I think if the 36H was too small upside down and backwards then in general 36 bands will be small. I think, looking at the strain of the band in your pictures (band rolling up, wires pulled wide) that a 38 might be a better band for you but of course brands and models vary wildly and especially in this size range. Yay for us!
So you need wires measuring ~7 inches in something between a 36HH and 40GG. Have you tried Sculptresse as a brand yet? Definitely try 38 and 40 bands as most run quite firm. Now that you are a cup size up from your previous size the wires might not be too narrow, although some models do have quite narrow wires. Good luck!
I'm thinking I may try to go back to the boutique today and exchange the Parfait bra I got since it's still unworn. I don't know if they can do anything about the CK Victoria since I wore it. Hopefully I can try on some 38H or 36HH and figure out the best overall size.
I think I may have to break out the sewing machine this week or next week and take in all of my bands and see what happens. I generally machine wash my bras, though I know you're not supposed to. But I live in a house with lots of people and don't feel comfortable hanging soaking wet bras in the shower every week. I try not to dry them in the dryer unless I'm in a hurry. But I know between regular wear and washing in the machine, they are probably wearing out a lot faster.
vrwriter there's no need to hang up handwashed bras soaking wet! After handwashing, lay a used (but dry) towel on a flat, hard surface, place the freshly washed bra on it and "roll" it up as many times as you can inside the towel. Then firmly press down with your palms all along the length of the towel-wrapped bra to absorb as much water as you can. Do it again with the other side of the towel or another towel if you want extra security, then the bra will not be dripping and you can hang it up in your room. (You can always place a small basin underneath if you're afraid about a couple drops, but the towel trick is sufficient for me to hang bras anywhere.)
Thank you for the tip, wendybien ! I've been able to hang the damp but not wet washing-machine washed ones, so I will try this method and see how it works. I know some people use special soap/detergent to wash their bras. Is there one you like to use?
Its like the cups are set too far apart from each other, causing quading especially near the gore, and making my tissue sit under my arms so I can't lay my arms against my sides the way I can normally. It seems well made though the band is altogether to big for me . for this being a charity gift from a friend who physically used her head to measure whether it would fit my boobs or not , its pretty close.
So it is bandless and marketed to petite plus gals. But the apex of the cup is 2 inches higher than my apex. So it's for someone with much taller roots than I (granted I have quite short roots). Also, the projection is all at the very top of the cup. There is almost none at the wire. So this bra would be good for someone with tall shallow breasts. But at this size how many people are like that? In smaller cup sizes it could be great though.
Very little room for center projection. Gore isn't too high for this size. Wires are pretty pokey. They are narrow but super flexible and will permanently bend back like other Elomi wires.
The fabric is very soft and smooth. The lace is printed. I like the black and white pattern with the red bows. I would love this fabric on a different shaped bra. The band is plain black mesh. The bra is quite lightweight with no lining.
The apex.....giggle. I have tried bras like that. Not for us shorties ;-)
OK this is kind of a crazy thing to offer to petite plus women in this cup size range! I'd think the main audience for a large-band option with tall and shallow cup would be tall, broad-built folks.
wendybien right? I get the concept, but how many petite plus women with tall wide roots and super shallow breasts are there in a size H? I mean even in smaller sizes high waisted with tall roots can't be super common.
This bra seriously confused me too, although I guess I have taller roots so not quite the same problem. But in a 36GG, while I filled the cup with the tiniest ruffle at the top in my smaller size, the gore didn't quite tack and I had the weirdest feeling that my boobs were under my arms.
I have anushka! Love it as well, but deff isn't as amazing as Tara! I think I have tall, projected roots, and while this bra is "shallow" it isn't shallow for me because my projection jutts straight out. I'm very full on top, wide but self supporting boobs. I have it in a 40H and it's too tight with an extender, and I'm usually a 42GG/j in goddess. I'm not sure what size to get it in because of my "small" frame. It's the only bra that gives me cakes on a plate that I've been dying to have again lol. I have been recommended the @sculptressechichi but haven't gotten around to getting it. I do want the moonlight as well, but I can't tell if I need wider or narrower wires. I've been very uncomfortable in bras lately so I think I've grown /:
Has surprising depth at the wire and depth in general for a moulded cup bra. Fits my projected, FOB shape well. Good for shorter to medium roots too, the top of the cups sit close to my skin without gaping. This bra really understands that when you need wide wires, the cups need to project more to the centre of the bra to get forward projection. Otherwise, when the cups wrap around your body, the 'centre' moves and your boobs point out at a 45 degree angle, giving you the dreaded east/west look. Amelia puts things front and centre. I have narrow shoulders and the straps on this one were a bit too wide for me, causing some rubbing under the arms and on the tail of spence. Models with centre pull straps like Elomi Carmen suit me better. I may move the straps in a bit, and reduce the height of the wings/ sides of cups slightly as well. The beige/ nude colour is a bit boring, but it does go well under sheer/ light clothes.
I'm pretty pumped to see another user doing reviews in my size range!!
I may have to give this one a try. Projection at the wire is one of my must-haves.
Thanks ennakym . I've just recently started my bra journey again, determined to have ones that actually fit. I've got more measurements and reviews to add, just need the time. I'm going to add a couple today.
I'll keep an eye out! I'm waiting for a bunch of Comexims to come in, so hopefully they'll come in soooon so I can get reviews and measurements, too.
I have loved the quality of Elomi's fabrics...until now. This bra was made of tough, plasticky fabric. It was not nice to touch. The inside was ok but I did not like wearing it because it was so stiff.
Carmen is a plunge, a true plunge at this size, with a stretch lace top. The lace had an elastic edge which took away all the good fit qualities of the lace for me, but that's because I'm full on top and Elomi is definitely best for even to full on bottom folks. The wings didn't seem too high but the wires were ...definitely already bending back, like Elomi wires do. The band was nice and firm but stretchy. I think the elastic Elomi uses helps the band feel more stable.
I could have used more projection at the bottom of the cup and there was wrinkling. The texture of the cups is also on the straps which was cute. I liked the metal-like plastic adornments on the straps and gore. The straps were reduced stretch and fully adjustable. A good bra in a terrible fabric. Read more 92 more words
This is a lovely bra, the patterning is trendy and kind of busy, but classy. the lace on top edge of the cups is backed with elastic so it lays perfectly smooth. And the bows look more like a butterfly then a normal bow. The straps are fully adjustable and the cups are the roundest softest shape I've ever personally seen in a un-padded bra.
I am in love with Elomi's (even though they are kinda wide) they are the most delightful fitting bra I've ever worn in my life. I have three now, in three different sizes... Yet they all fit to the point of being perfectly ...wearable. The wires are firm, but not uncomfortably so, I still feel like I have the same freedom as in my CK's with a more flexable wire. The elastic on these babies is something else. It's soft and very snug, but in a good way, in a I know I just bought a BMW kind of way, not in a oh crap it's over stretched kind of way. All three have been incredibly snug before I wash them for the first time, (hand washed warm water, I get rashes if I don't wash new clothing) after, they fit comfortably snug. The fabric is flexible but not overly stretchy, and so smooth, Egyptian cotton sheets smooth. the only vaguely negative thing I could say about Elomi's is they run wide for my roots. pros + very comfortable AND supportive + soft and smooth fabric + strong wires + padded wire channels + comes in pretty colors
cons - very very wide wires - band feels a bit loose, wearing it on tightest setting (I'd prefer a 32 band) - fabric comes up very high, no bra for low cut tops - gore is a bit wide... does float about 0.5cm away on top but that's because my boobs are very close set.
I really like this bra! It used to fit me best when I was carrying a few extra pounds. The band is a bit too big and there is some slight gaping on top where the ...cups meet the straps. The wires are like all Elomi wires much too wide on me! There is about 1.5-2cm empty fabric on the side. Despite those issues it's still a very supportive bra. It's also one of the most comfortable bras I've ever tried. It supports me when I am active but I can also take a nap in it without any discomfort. I could even use it as a sleep bra, I think. I barely feel the wires! The shoulder straps are wide and fully adjustable. The shape is okay, not pointy but also not very uplifted. It makes boobs look more wide from the front and less projected from the side.

Ooo, this is a bra frame I probably would have settled for if I hadn't already seen the difference Ewa Michalak bras make with the size of their wires. These wires are too wide and tall for me. The straps also don't adjust all the way, which feels weird. High roots beware. The cups aren't quite deep enough for me. I'm still getting the tissue fold over issue on the outer side. I really don't like how all these "side support" style bras just shove tissue to the sides. Seems like the intent is for the opposite to happen. I know it's a cup depth issue. It's just frustrating. I'm almost done reviewing these wide wired bras. I feel like I'm just not gonna be able to wear UK bras anymore. Ewa Michalak just fits my shape so much better. I can't wait for them to come back from holiday! Pretty sure they're back tomorrow. Ok, that's all I have for this bra.
I don't like the way this bra fits. It doesn't offer any lift or oomph. I think it is not made for my breasts shape. My bigger breast slips a little. It doesn't fuller encapsulate it. It looks great on models but it is not just for me. I can't relate when people say it fits well. Matilda is a beautiful comfortable bra. You barely know you have it on. For me that's it. I wouldn't reach for it when I need support and lift.
Fits pretty well but the gore kinda rubs and the wires are too wide. Top looks wrinkled when my arms are raised but otherwise it’s flat along the top. Very good shock absorption!
Update: After trying it on again in the morning, the band is a little too loose for what I would want in a sport bra and there’s a ton of space between the wire and my IMF. I’ve ordered a 36H to try, but I may have to revisit the 34HH/34J sizes again as apparently they might fit me better. I don’t have to return this one for a month, so I’ll wait and decide after trying some other sister sizes.
Oh, Morgan. I’ve tried you in I think 4? 5? sizes now. Honestly, I was actually surprised by the fit of the 36J and the 36HH Morgan. The wires were less “pudding”-like (as another user called them in one of my other reviews of Morgan), which was a plus. I believe that the 34 band was a definite too small when I tried Morgan before. The problem is, it almost seems like the 36 is too big! Not as much of an issue with this one, the 36J, because it doesn’t fit for many other reasons.
The wires are too wide, which caused that weird wrinkling on the ...sides again. It had great projection and the gore tacked. The lace was flat but had plenty of space as well. It didn’t wrinkle, but it just had a lot of space. I’m not very fond of the Toasted Almond color, but that’s just preference. (I really tend to elan towards black bras, IDK why.) The material is A+ just like the majority of other Elomi bras.
While this one was not a good fit, see my review on the 36HH - Elomi » Morgan Banded Bra (4110) because I think it was a better fit for me. I’m also planning on trying Morgan in a 36H, but I have a feeling that will be too small. Read more 119 more words
I love the look of this bra, it’s such a pretty pattern and colour on you! Sorry it didn’t fit though
margesimpson thank you! I’m not surprised about the fit...I had a feeling it was going to be too big but I try to try on sizes that are bigger and smaller just to get a good baseline.
I think Elomi has changed the wires on their newer bras. Styles that have been around for a while like the basic colours of their staples (Morgan, Kim) can have still old "pudding" wires but I think newer bras will have the improved wire. If you get new seasonal colours most have new wires, if you get older style it depends on how old stock is.
As with the Elomi Morgan, I originally owned the Sachi bra in a 32H, then bought it in a 32J after gaining weight. I find this bra to be very comfortable, and the strappy detailing doesn't show even when I wear a V-neck. The Panache Envy is probably a better fit for me than the Sachi, but the band and the outer end of the wires of the Sachi are more comfortable.
Just some quick info on this bra: I used to wear this with an altered band when I was a size 34KK/L. I really liked it for it's comfort. The bra had the old Elomi wires which were more flexible and quite wide. They were a bit too wide for me and there was slight empty fabric in the bottom cup. The support was good and it was comfortable. The shape was slightly wide from the front but round from the side.
This style is not made anymore, but the new Mariella and Morgan banded bra have a similar wire, cup construction and feel to them, the only difference is that both have a stretchy lace on top which Tatiana did not have.
That is very interesting about the cups, alisa ! I had no idea any brand did that. What a good idea. Thanks for the review!
