This bra was good enough to wear even though it did not fit perfectly, so I wore it until I broke the wire on the right had side (my smaller breast). I am doing this review after the fact using the fit of the bra now.
Band: Okay. I can still put both of my palms under the band at the sides and easily pull it away a few inches from my body. Gore: Does not ever lie flat. It floats above the gap between the breasts. Cups: I spill out of top of both cups, and spills out of bra on smaller breast where the wire is ...broken on the side. Either the wire from the larger breast is pulling the bra over towards its side or the smaller breast is wider. (the wires on my smaller breast are always the ones that get broken or poke out the top at the gore, no idea why) Underwire: lies flat against my rib cage except for at the very front of the bra which clings to the breasts. the Underwire follows the root of both breast okay, but comes in a little too much on the smaller breast near the outside under the arm. Straps: tight, but I can fit two fingers underneath easily
I put good under quality, because even though the wire broke, I am pretty sure that had more to do with me forcing it then the quality of the bra. Read more 137 more words
Hi Pearljam ! Sounds like the band is still big and the cups small. Did you try a 40H in this?
correction : did you try a 40GG? I read all your reviews. The bands 42 and 44 are consistently bigger for you. I definitely recommend you try a smaller band, cup volume of 40G will be same as 42FF, which sound like they are smaller. So do give 40GG and 40Ha try! Cheers
Band: Good, it does not pull up, but it does roll up across the bottom at the back. It feels tight, but I can still put both of my palms under the band at the sides and easily pull it away from my body. Gore: Does not ever lie flat on my breast. It floats above the gap between the breasts, resting on the sides of the breasts. Cups: I spill out of top on both cups, a lot on the larger breast (left) and less but sitll too much to wear on the smaller breast. (more than the Elomi -Caitlyn in the same size 42FF(UK)) Underwire: does ...not lies flat against my rib cage anywhere except for at the very side of the bra just before it curves up on the side of the body under the armpit. Follows my root of both breast okay, but comes a little into the breast near the outside under the arm. Straps: tight, but I can fit two fingers underneath easily
Back when I bought this bra, and I was smaller, it was very comfortable and pretty. Read more 77 more words
I really really like the softness of this material. There's no itchy lace and that's a relief. It seems to be common in the bandless bra types. However, I think my lack of fullness underneath doesn't quite fill up the cups under neath (maybe I'm too projected?) and then I get a falling out of the top on my larger breast size. The cups are also too wide as they wrap under my armpit completely. I'm ok with this because it doesn't seem to effect my fit whatsoever in that it's uncomfortable or gives a bad look. I really wanted this to fit but it fits extremely close to the Tia that has be discontinued which is what I've worn for two years.
Just to see if a smaller size might fit in Elomi plunges, I tried this. It does not work. However I really love the embroidery. It’s a great color too. Might get it in a 42HH. Fits similarly to Elomi Matilda and 42HH - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra (4350)
Hello cupandahalf. I have a dilemma. I have roughly you size of chest, but I am looking for pre owned bras because they fit better. There is none listed and I am curious if you would make a deal with me
I decided to try Mariella, as it's based on Morgan (I believe), but prettier. Also it was on sale cheaper.
The fit is similar to that of my 38HH Elomi Kim, but the wires are a bit narrower and there's better depth in the bottom. Band is nicely snug, gore tacks, no quadding. As with the Kim (and the 38H Morgan I tried before), there's some vertical in-cup quadding where the side support sling ends, but also like the Kim it's very minor and not visible under clothing.
Looks-wise, it's purple, which is my favorite color. I cannot decide if the pattern on the material is pale pink or beige, but it's pretty neat. I especially like the vertical stripes/ladders on the stretch lace portion - it has a lot of visual interest.
The Rosalind bra is like other plunge bras from Elomi in cut but it does not feature a stretchy lace. The material of the cups is sturdy but soft satin like fabric with a really nice floral print. Very high quality and comfortable to wear. I ordered a 32JJ because my usual size 32J was out of stock. But this bra was definitely too big, the cups were too tall, too wide and I had some extra room and wrinkling on top and on the sides. I really liked how the bra looks, but I don't know if it would work in another size, I think the 32J would be a better fit but still a bit too tall and wide for me.
The bra's wire width is ridiculous and it looks too shallow on bottom for you. I don't think would fit you in a 32J either if the bottom remains the same.
Sovavosi yes I also doubt it, so I won't try another of these. I might have to give up Elomi for now. The bras are so nice and high Quality, but they are often quite shallow at the center but combined with wide wires and tall cups = impossible to fit for me... like I need H-cup wires and cup height + JJ cup Depth. :S
Have you ever tried the Elomi Morgan? It's narrow (by UK standards, anyway) and has deep lower cups. Kim is narrow with more apex projection, and Mariella is like a cross between those two.
Pinniped Yes I tried both Morgan and Mariella. 32J - Elomi » Morgan Banded Bra (4110)32J - Elomi » Mariella Banded Bra (EL4420) The wires were still too wide for me. They were also much softer wires that would distort more easily, I did not feel that I got enough support from the wires in these bras. They were not bad but I'm very very sensitive when it comes to a bra just feeling somewhat weak and unsupportive... and if I feel too much pressure on my shoulder straps and not enough support from wire and band. I actually think I give up on Elomi for good... there will be some reviews from my recent haul but I think it's not worth it for me to try more.... :(
I like this one. Morgan feels to me like a midpoint between Etta and Caitlyn. The band is a bit more TTS than I'm used to Elomi bras being, but felt okay. Wires felt perfect, gore is a good height, sides are a good height.
Didn't fit though. The elastic at the top of the lace cut in, and the gore didn't fully tack. Also, the seam where the side support sling connects to the main cup was cutting in big time. I also could have used a bit more depth in the bottom.
But the bra itself is very pretty - I love the pattern on the lace, and I really like that it's a beige bra with an interesting pattern. I will probably retry it up a size.
Meredith is based on the Morgan, and therefore fits very similarly. The fabric is quite different, however, being more of a sturdy, thick, solid colored fabric. It has what ti calls pinhole mesh, which is supposed to make it more breathable. It's not particularly pretty, but it is quite comfortable.
Something interesting is going on at the gore, however. I think all the Elomis I have measured (a lot) have had a 0.75 cup separation. Meredith is narrower, at 0.6. Not the wires themselves, but the wire channels actually overlap just a bit! This is good news for center-full ladies! Another interesting structural feature, also found in the Charley, is that the band is not continuous. There are two separate elastic pieces that cross at the gore, but do not attach to the opposite cups. Rather, there is a piece of vertical boning in the gore, and the band elastics attach to that. This leads to a higher, more V-shaped arch in the gore, which I found more comfortable.
Pretty embroidered detail on the cup, textured straps with delicate lacy edging. It sits flat on the sternum. The straps are set too far apart for my narrow frame, though, and rub on my arms when I move them.
Fits a lot like other Elomi plunges with non-stretch tops, for instance 42HH - Elomi » Matilda Plunge Bra (8900). The fabric is very stiff but the cut out and silver dangle is great.
Yes it does. It rests on my larger breast a bit though.
The wires are on Elomi’s firmer side.
I see from your measurements table that the wires are nice and wide, which I always look for. I wish there were a few other reviews nearer my size 40FF, 40G.
I would go for Charley if you want wider. Those wires stretch wider.
